Hi, Coast to Coast AM listeners! We're excited to share with you a sneak peek at iHeartPodcasts' latest release, Crying Wolf!

Crying Wolf: Crying Wolf is a gripping true crime podcast that follows the story of Lee Harris, who was wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to 90 years in prison after a coerced confession. In prison, he formed a deep bond with fellow inmate Robert, who vowed to clear Lee's name. After two decades of relentless effort, exposing corrupt detectives, prison informants, and with the help of a determined pro bono defense attorney, Robert succeeded. In 2023, Lee walked free—only to die suddenly a few months later.

This podcast delves into the chilling legacy of Detective Richard Zuley, notorious for extracting false confessions, and the deep-seated corruption that plagues Chicago’s justice system. With Lee gone, Robert is determined to continue the fight, exposing the city’s dark history and pursuing justice for the wrongfully convicted. Join us as we unravel a story of friendship, betrayal, and the quest for redemption.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Chicago, nineteen eighty nine. White victim, female, pretty wealthy. A
white woman's murder shocks the city. A black man from
the projects comes forward with information about the case. He
says the police are his friends, but out of nowhere,
he goes from star witness to prime suspect and then

(00:24):
that's it. They turn on. The system is hungry for
a conviction. Lee Harris is sentenced to ninety years. I
had ninety years for killing somebody I have never seen.
Behind bars, Lee finds an unlikely ally and is selling Robert.

(00:46):
The pair like chalk and cheese. There's no way their
past would ever cross on the outside, But as a
fellow inmate, Robert sees through the lies and vows to
do the unthinkable. Clear Lee's name. This is a free,
paid collect call from an inmate, as if you're with
me or your goal to I'll take care of you.

(01:09):
I'm gonna I'm gonna meet with the light. Together, they
wage a twenty year war against Chicago's darkest corners, corrupt detectives,
jail house informants, and entire system built on fear. Lee's
mouth was Lee's downfall, along with dirty cops that knew
they could manipulate ly. They got the wrong guy. They

(01:29):
arrested the wrong person. How he've just interrogated the techniques.
That's crazy. The legacy of one detective looms large, infamous
for his torturous methods at Guantanamo Bay. So this is
a bad dude. There's a list of police officers who
deserve a special place in Hell, and he's certainly in
the top three. I'm very determined to take him down,

(01:52):
but Robert and his attorney are relentless. One motion, one
late night call, one hope at a time. This is
the Crying Wolf Podcast, a story of two men bound
by injustice, a friendship forged, where hope is almost lost,
of a city haunted by its secrets, and the quest

(02:17):
for redemption no matter the price. Listen to The Crying
Wolf Podcast starting on October twenty second on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
