Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scrubbing In with Beta Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
and two time People's Choice Award winning podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hello everybody, we are scrubbing it.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
It's that scrubbing in life with my scrubbing in wife stunning.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah sounds good, it does. Yeah, it's fun. We are
back with the proposal story, my proposal to Haley. Can
I just tell you something?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Sure, I'm so happy that you did it before the
year ended. It just feels so nice that, like she
proposed in twenty twenty five, you proposed, Like I don't know,
there's something very like symmetrical about it. I don't know
how to explain, but like, I'm just so happy that
you did it before the year was over.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Thank you. Yeah, I too, am happy I did it
before the year was over.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
It was really fun and I the really part is
that when we went to Japan five years ago and
we had the moment of staying at the Four Seasons,
I it was the same week.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
That we were there.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
So it was really cool because it was like we
kind of went back to that time and place.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
And so I called Tanya.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It's the day before I FaceTime her, and she anytime
I FaceTime Tanya.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
She always answers the same. She goes hey, because I'm
like and I'm like, what are you doing? She's like,
what are you doing? And I'm like, oh, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Just you know, we're just cooking dinner. We're in the kitchen,
like cooking some.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
For those are Easton asked me to clarify this.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
So I had talked about going to Japan on the
podcast because the plan was that I was gonna go
to London for my work trip and then I was
gonna leave and meet up with them on Sunday in Japan.
So I always talked about going to Japan, so that
I tried to make it feel like very no one
like suspicious of it, you.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Know, meaning Haley, Yeah, meaning like.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Haley wouldn't think anything of it, or like a lot
of the scrubbers were like, as soon as you said
you were going to Japan, I knew you were going
to propose.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Yeah, I know, everybody the whole thing. After you call.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
So I call her, they're cooking in the kitchen and
they're like, what are you doing? And I was like, well,
did I say I'm in Japan. I'm in Japan.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, you know, I am in Japan.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
And I'm going to propose to Haley tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
I was like, what, like so nonchalant. Yeah, And then
I started putting the pieces together and I was like,
oh my gosh. For some reason, I didn't think you
had the ring yet. So I was like totally thrown
off that you like were proposing because I didn't think
you had the ring.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
By the way, I didn't tell this in the last part.
I got the ring the day I left, so I
left it.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I left at midnight or like eleven thirty pm on
Tuesday night.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I got the ring on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
She met me in the park, like I found a
dolor spot. So I didn't plan that. I did not
plan that. But no, she was like, it's not going
to be ready until December second. And I was like,
I leave December second, and she was like, i'll get
it to you.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
What time do you leave?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
And I was like at night. She's like, I'll get it.
I'll bring it to you in the afternoon. The reason
why I didn't have.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
The ring till I love and I guess like, silly me,
I thought maybe you would like send me pictures of
the ring when you got it, Like I was so I.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Knew you were going to Japan, and I knew it.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Was like through this through SS Global to say global
SS Gold, and so in my mind I was just
like I just had ruled it out, like I just
didn't even think that you were going to be proposing. Yeah,
And then I was like, oh my gosh, her location,
she stopped sharing her location, like I'm such a dingling,
Like she couldn't have given me more signs as she
(03:55):
was proposing and dingling.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Tanya was like, did not put the pieces together.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Don't call yourself a dingling, but I felt very dingling.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
But my so two days before I left, I was
over at Alley's and she straight up looked at me
and she goes, are you proposing in Japan? And that
was the first time where I was like I'm yeah.
I was just like, yeah, I am, because she looked
at me dead in my eyes and asked, and I
was I was thinking, I'm so grateful and I would
have told you if you like straight up asked me
(04:24):
to my face, I will add you.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I'm I'm happy you said that because I've been trying
to be like more respectful of boundaries. Yeah, and like
not press you and ask you these things.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah, but I do think if you had thought you
would have asked me. I don't feel like that would
have been off the table if it had come to
your mind.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
But he did it and really did not And so yeah,
I called and she was like wait what, And the
whole everything about it just happened so sleep seamlessly that
it went as according to plan as possible.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
So when I called Tanya and Robie, it's like, oh
my gosh, what And he's like, Babe, how did you
not know? I was like, Robbie, don't make her feel worse.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yeah, I was like, ah, he was like, so pick
up on my own engagement, Like, so.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
She's going to Japan.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
She turned her location off, and you knew that, like
there was a chance she would at some point was
proposing to Haley.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
I just assumed that you would tell me, And I
know you said you weren't, but I just really thought.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
You would, silly me, literally.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
So naive, Like I'm like, also with my own proposal,
there were so many things I should have picked up
on that I just didn't.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Robbie did a really good job though how he said
it up.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Though in hindsight, I should have really like picked up
on some p's and q's.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
But it's fine, y'all go to the four seat, like
y'all do I mean you go to the mayboard and
did your massage all the time. Like what he did
was very like casual and calm. Yeah, did not know
in hindsight, there were some clues.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
Okay, proposing is such a special part of like a
love story. But like it's so weird to like enter
this new phase of your life by like committing the
most wise yeah secrets you've ever had.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Truly, truly, it was.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Like so uncomfortable for me when I did.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
It sucks, it's so true, and I was always I
was kind of like, well, we've already committed.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
We're pretty locked in, you know, so I'm just putting
the dead bowl on.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
She knows it's all in good fun.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
So Becca facetimes us and gives us like the thrill
of a lifetime, like we were like riding high after that,
like and then I was just like counting down the minutes,
like I was like, I don't know what time it
is there. I know she's doing it tomorrow, but like
is that tomorrow tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (06:44):
For us?
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Like I just yeah, the timing was weird because I
was like a full day ahead.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah. So then I called.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I had already called her parents and her sister and
her brother and then and by the way, I didn't
tell marlaw is with it and doing all.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
She's smart though, that would be the worst person to tell.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Well, I just thought, I don't want her to feel
the burden of having to like lie, lie and keep
the secret, and so I just was like, I'm not
going to tell her.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
She'll be surprised too.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
So the the morning of I pick my outfit and
I the photographer, and so that's it.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
You just called her parents and me and that was it.
I called there's more people.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I called Taylor Banks, and I called Laura, and I
called my sister Henk and Caroline and my mom.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Oh wow, so like a lengthy list. Yeah. I just
called to be like this is happening. Yeah, okay, so
honored to be on the top of that. Yeah, you
were the first.
Speaker 7 (07:50):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah, I think after heink it's nine. Placement doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, no, no, no, it was more about timing of
when you were going to answer, et cetera. Yeah, So
the plan was that the photographer and videographer. Haley thought
she was going to a tea ceremony that morning.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
So my idea was that the photographer morning time you
did it was like eleven. Oh.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
She was like, or the photographer and videographer came to
my room, and my plan was they were gonna go
with the ico who worked for the four Seasons, and
she was she was gonna be with them and tell Haley, hey,
we have this photographer and videographer. They're gonna basically capture
your content for you to use to post for the
hotel in ess Gold.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
So I'm smart because I.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Was like, there it was like three people with all
this gear, Like, she's gonna be suspicious. So my plan
there was a little basically you can write these wishes
and you go up and you hang them and it's
like a little like shrine thing, and it was up
the stairs in the garden. So I went and that's
where I was waiting. So she was walking along the
(08:55):
path and they were like, we're we're gonna stop and
have her take photos at this spot and you're gonna
walk down and you're gonna like kind of walk up
behind her and just tap her on the shoulder surprise her.
So she's taking photos and she's like serving, like she
is posing.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
For her life.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
And I walk up behind her and she said that
she was like, oh my god, someone's in my shot,
Like they'll photoshop them out.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
I'm a professional. So she like stayed just like posing,
locked in and then I tapped her on the shoulder
and she was like, oh my gosh. She was like,
are you kidding? And she was like, I have my
glasses on. She was gonna put her contacts in, and
then they decided.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
She had these like cooler glasses that like were an
accessory for her outfits.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
So she was like, let me take my glasses off.
And so.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
I will say it proposing in front of people, because
you know, I had the photographer, videographer, another person there.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
I go from the hotel and Marla while I was
like trying to say myself.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
And Hailey's like totally caught off guard, like she can't
believe it.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
So we're both like trying to be present and we're
both crying. And then I.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Got on a knee, which the whole getting on a
knee conversation is so funny because back in twenty twenty,
we were with Laura, and Hailey made the comment about like,
oh yeah, like when Becka gets on a knee, and
I was like, I'm not getting on a knee.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Why would I get on a knee? Like I had
such a stereotypical role of like who was supposed to
be on a knee?
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Right, And so I was like I never pictured myself
getting on a knee.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Do you go down on a knee? Like in reality?
Like what's the point of it should be?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Like like present? I don't know, you know what I mean?
I don't know. Yeah, I don't know either.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
Really, it's it comes from medieval times when knights would
kneel to pledge loyalty to lords and ladies.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
And ladies to ladies.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, so I I remember when I was like, you
were not gonna get on a knee?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Well I was.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
That was the last conversation we had about it, and
she was like what.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Like I always expected when I got proposed to that
someone would be on the knee. And I'm like, is
there a way we can both be sitting down or something?
But I will say I felt like I loved getting
down on a knee. You did. It just felt powerful.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I felt very like empowered to do it, and like,
also it was something that was really important to her,
so it felt very important to.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Me, right, and so I proposed and.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
It was hilarious, like it was just so funny, and
so then we hug and everything, and Marla runs over
because I.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Wish someone had a video on Marla's face.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
No, I was weirdly focused on her face because I
was watching her and she she really played it cool,
but I could see her being like like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
And they all had to keep their cool.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
She had to keep her cool because she would have
given it away.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yeah, by the way, I didn't. I forgot to talk
about this.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
But the whole time leading up to this, when Haley
was facetiming me, I was pretending that I was sick.
She thought I had the flu in London, like she
was like, Becca's so sick, because I thought it was
weird that I wouldn't be out and about with people.
When she facetiming, oh, like every time, You're just like
I'm all the time in the room. Yeah, so it
was like, what would be a reason I'd be in
my room? And I was like, oh, because I'm jet
(12:26):
laden and sick. So at one point, I was like, Okay,
they're sending a doctor to me, because in my mind
I had to get I was like, I don't know
how I'm going to get on another flight to Japan
if I'm sick. So the whole time she's thinking, I'm like,
maybe not going to make it to Japan. So when
she saw me, it was not only surprising to see me,
but she was like, you're not sick. Yeah, So then
(12:47):
she goes, she goes, but you ran into someone at
the airport. And that was the last minute, desperate attempt
for me to prove that I was going on that trip,
and it worked.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
It was like one thing where she was like that
she held on to that.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
She was like, but she ran into someone, Like she
said the day before, she was at breakfast and they
were like looking at the garden, which is where I proposed,
and she was like, I can't believe Becca is not
going to propose here, like this is my dream and
she's gonna miss the opportunity to do it, and and
Marla was like, you don't think maybe she's still gonna
do it when she comes and she goes, I don't know,
(13:25):
but I do know She's.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Like in London because she ran into someone there. Damn smart,
I know.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I know, and that was just the last ditch attempt,
and so she was like.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
And you're not sick. And so the whole trip she
was thinking, she was like, wait, so did s nim
plan And I'm.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Like, I am sin, I yeah, the sponsorship, right, You're like,
here's my credit cardinal credit.
Speaker 8 (13:49):
Card, she said the night before the first night they
got to the hotel, because I got there on Thursday
and they got there Friday morning, and then I proposed
on Saturday because I don't want to propose to her,
like right, and she got in and feel jet lagged
and stuff.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
So I let her have a day really thinking it's
not gonna happen. And that night they went to dinner
at the hotel and they're like, we got to meet
the per diem that the hotel gave us, and they
were just like, should we order the tenderloin.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
It's so freaking funny.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
It's so funny.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
I wish she was here to tell it, because, like her,
we should have her come back on and tell her perspective.
She actually did get sick at the end of the trip,
so she's at homesick.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
No, that's a bummer. So it was so much fun.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I was like, there was a point when you had
called and told us and then maybe yeah, maybe was
like twenty four hours or maybe like a little bit more.
And I see Haley like posting ss goal, thank you this,
and I'm like, I like Robbie's like sending the story
to me too, like we're sending it back and forth
to each other, like oh.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Hell, Like it was so good and it was so
amazing because Sinnim would be like, they're wanting to get
her lawyer involved, like to sign the contracts, and I
was like, just do it.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
It'll all be voided.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Wait what, like just for because it was a brand,
like it was a collaboration Deale so like her team
and like her lay like just making sure like contracts
and everything were signed.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And so Sinema would be like, they're asking for like
this document and I'm like, I don't know what that is.
Let me ask d Like it was O kao, why
don't you ask Robbie? Oh because you didn't tell us?
Yeah no. So it was so much fun and it
was such a success. She was so so.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Like nerve wrecking for cinem too, like she's like signing
all these like leal documents when it's all a rude
it's so scary, literally total I'm not kidding, like cinem
and honestly having someone do.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
The travel like she really planned.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
She planned the we did like a kimono experience, We
did the tea ceremony, she did the day trip for us,
and like all the travel, it was next level.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
No, that's like the whole thing too, is like when
you when we worked with her, it's like they think
of everything, so it's like you don't have to you
just don't have to think, and like there's so much
freedom in that, like it just takes the like travel
anxiety away.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yes, And she was like we in our room.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
She had framed photos of us set up like it
was just everything was so thoughtful. And the girls from
four Seasons, like the IC sent me room service the
night before and she had chat gpted what I like
to eat and she was like I saw that you
like junk food, so she sent me like French fries
and chocolates and like sorry with the sweetest letter that
(16:37):
was like you've got this, like you are amazing, Like
good luck tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
It was just the most thoughtful, perfect experience.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
And I had a moment like the night before where
I was just like I was feeling very grateful for
being able to do it that and like being able
to plan such a like elaborate proposal and travel and
all that stuff. I had this moment of like heavy
gratitude where I was like, this is so freaking cool
(17:06):
that I get to do this, and like that I
had the support and help from Sinnam and like the
girls that forced it. Like it was just I was
just very overwhelmed of like, oh my gosh, I'm so
grateful I get to do this for Haley.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
And it was so fun and worth it.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
And wait, so you like left his hanging and you
propose you put the ring on her?
Speaker 3 (17:27):
And she said yes, I think going into it. Obviously,
if I had proposed first, I know that she would
have said yes. But it really took off like the
nerves of you know.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
What, No, even if you had gone first, it would
be a nervous she was a second.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
It just like really elimit, like I got to just
fully be excited and giddy about the surprise.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
You know, So you propose and then I want to know,
like what you did after you with Hailey and Marla,
But we to talk about.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
That when we come back.
Speaker 9 (18:02):
Nice, We're back with some breaking.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
News, Becca Well, breaking news in terms of a very
special guest who was willing to hop on zoom for
us to talk and share her experience of the story.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Please welcome my fiance two time. Do you want winning fiance?
Speaker 7 (18:37):
Like, Hi, guys, I'm very long sick.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Yeah she got she went down.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Heyers, We're so sorry that you're sick.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah, she got to ring Anna virus.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Ana virus such as life I know highs and lows.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Babe.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
I basically told the story of like me planning it
and what happened, and we had just gotten to.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
The proposal part. But I feel like we should go back.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
And kind of talk about your experience of the all
the planning and what you thought going into it and everything.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
Well, did you tell them like all the things like
that convinced me that you weren't going to propose? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Well, I told him that I said I wanted to
do it myself and plan my own proposal, not on
like a sponsored trip. And then I told him that
I had gardened and you had straight up asked me
like did you do this?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
And ID lock it?
Speaker 7 (19:36):
I got so mass manipulated.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
It was crazy.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Honestly, it is so wild.
Speaker 10 (19:42):
The amount still confused. How I'm sick and Becca's not
sick in London. Everything's confusing for me right now. I'm
an inception.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, so I told him about running into someone at
the airport.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Yeah that.
Speaker 10 (20:01):
So I was telling Mecca, like so the night before,
the day before, like I'm like in Japan and I'm
with my best friend Marla, and I'm like, oh, if
only Becca was here, this is like my dream hotel.
And I like woke up and had my dream breakfast
buffet and I was just like, oh my god, if
(20:21):
only I was getting proposed to here, like what I
missed opportunity. And then I got dinner with Marla and
like I had negotiated a per diem, which was like
not real, and so Marlon I went to dinner and
I was like charging the car and we like had
steaks and lobsters who were just like it's free and
(20:42):
I'm looking outside the garden and the lights are all pretty,
and I was like I didn't cry to Marla, but
I was definitely like convincing myself that I wasn't going
to be upset that I wasn't getting proposed to at
the Japanese ID.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
I know that feeling. It's really sad.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
I've heard you know that, Yeah, spoiler alert didn't work
out so well for me.
Speaker 11 (21:12):
But so yeah, so like it was so surreal because
I was just so sad about it.
Speaker 7 (21:17):
Then I was like, whatever, it's fine, like it doesn't matter.
Speaker 10 (21:21):
And then and then so Maril and I were getting
ready for the tea ceremony and we're She was being
like mart had no idea, but for some reason, she
felt inspired to curl my hair, so she like did
my hair.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
And then I.
Speaker 10 (21:37):
Know, and I was like rushing, and I was like,
do I put my glasses on?
Speaker 7 (21:41):
Joy not?
Speaker 10 (21:42):
I put my contacts in And then and then Marla
was like, it looks cuter with your glasses. So I
put on like my big prescription glasses. Run out and
I see the videoographer and photographer and they're like, you know,
we're going to capture this experience for you.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
And I'm thinking, like, gosh, Japan is so official. They
just get it, like they've hired a team, they know
what it's like.
Speaker 10 (22:04):
It's so stressful to get content and they just get it,
and so I think it's.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
The same thing, though, like that seems believable.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
I think twice, Yeah, I wouldn't.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
And so I walk in the garden.
Speaker 10 (22:15):
And you know, and then obviously Becca surprised us and
I had my big chunky glasses on and I was like,
oh my god, I had con like I was so
stressed and I had contacts in but then I had
put my glasses on. Anyways, it was I was so
shocked and I looked at her and I was like,
how are you not sick in London? And like throughout
(22:36):
the whole trip, I kept I kept being confused, like
I kept being like, wait, all of this was fake?
And I remember at that dinner with Marla, I had
to asked Marla. I was like, do you think Becca
would be crazy enough to fake being sick and being
in London? And like, do you think she's gonna because
I thought she if she was faking it, I thought
(22:56):
she was going to maybe propose to me at Ina,
like because this this like really cute fishing village I
wanted to go to. And then I just kept thinking
about that girl that Becca ran into at the airport,
and I was just like, it's not fake, Like she
ran into a girl at the airport and she forgot
her name and it was uncomfortable for her, and like
(23:19):
that was real.
Speaker 7 (23:22):
That was saying, I have so much mind perspective.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I have so much pride in that moment because I
thought it was like a last minute decision, one before
I get on the flight, and I'm just gonna try
and seal the deal to make sure she knows him
on this trip with Starbucks.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
I don't know get when she uh like dis looked dislocated,
just disarmed her find my.
Speaker 10 (23:46):
So you know what, she did a reverse psychology on
me again and again. You guys, I don't know if
I should be proud or terrified.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Right, It's like a combo bol like I'm locked in
no matter, you know, good or bad.
Speaker 10 (24:01):
And but she so the location got turned off. I immediately
got suspicious. I was like, this girl is about to
surprise me. And then she told me that you had
texted her panicked and I was like, oh, so what
happened to everyone? So that kind of like disarmed me
a little bit. And then she was like, can you
(24:22):
go on my computer and try to fix it, and
so when she told me to go on her computer,
it immediately made me feel like I wasn't suspicious because
and then, you know what's so crazy, this reverse psychology.
She told me to go on her computer, so then
I didn't. I couldn't find her computer, and I was like,
(24:42):
you know what, whatever, and I just left it. Yeah,
Like that's how trusting I was. I just was like,
she told me to go on the computer, so she's
got nothing to hide like that, that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
The Scorpio final boss, Yeah scared.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
I'm scared too. Yeah, you all should be glad you're
on my good side.
Speaker 9 (25:04):
Stay there.
Speaker 10 (25:07):
But I know, the most amazing thing ever was the
most amazing surprise because your.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Dreaming proposal, Like you literally got your dream.
Speaker 10 (25:15):
I like was able to eat all my favorite snacks, PM,
my favorite food. I was in Kyoto like it just like, oh,
I got it proposed to.
Speaker 7 (25:25):
It was so cool. Yeah, it was so fun.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
It was so fun.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
And the kimono experience was actually not a real thing,
but Haley kept talking about it.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
So I told Snim, I.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Was like, can you actually find I just want.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
A kimono experience for real, because she's really excited about
that and it ended up being so cute.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
It was the totos you guys say, yeah, okay, yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
Seeing you in the grocery store with did you get
to keep those?
Speaker 3 (25:50):
No? I wish, but it's a.
Speaker 10 (25:51):
Whole like surprisingly come comfortable, like the socks and the
everything that was pretty cozy.
Speaker 7 (25:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Theys like they had a team like come.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
We thought we were going somewhere to do the experience
and we got that. We went to the lobby and
I was like, Hi, we were doing the kimono experience
and they're like, oh, yeah, the tea they're here.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
And it was like a team of.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
These women with suitcases and they're like, we're doing it
in your room. So we all went up to the
room and they like it was so fun.
Speaker 7 (26:20):
Yeah, they did our hair, were getting ready for the dala.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
It was so cute. It was so cute.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
I want to say, those photos are iconic, Like you
need to use that at Do you guys send holiday cards?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
I don't know if we're doing that. I got to
decorate for Christmas. Maybe use those next year next year
because they're so good.
Speaker 10 (26:38):
We haven't done holiday cards yet, but we were going
to eventually.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Yeah, so we had like a full trip after and
leading up to it, Hailey had been really stressed about
planning the trip and because because she thought, Okay, Becka's proposing,
she's going to plan the whole trip. And so I
told Sanim that she said that, like Haley made a
cam about that, and and she was like, let her
plan it, Like don't even act like you're like gonna
(27:06):
help with anything. Because Haley was trying to figure out
where are we gonna go for our day trips, where
are we gonna eat? And I just kind of like
let her take it on.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Oh, like meaning when you got there, no before because because.
Speaker 10 (27:18):
I had a Google doc, like I did a full itinerary,
like every day was planned out.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Because she always plans everything, and so if I took
over and started planning stuff, she would be.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Like why is she doing this right?
Speaker 7 (27:32):
Right?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
So she was like stressed, and I was like, babe,
it's fine. We're just gonna go, you know, fly by
the seat of our pants.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Oh I was like why are you?
Speaker 10 (27:42):
I literally like we didn't get in a fight, but
I was like, babe, no one seems to be stepping
up here, and like I'm planning everything and like like
Japan is like it's not going to like Santa Barbara,
you know, like it's we gotta like make sure we're
going to all the good spots.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Fun.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
So yeah, we had the best time, and I I
proposed and a lot of I know, a lot of
people were like, I don't get it. What's the point
You already like she proposed to you and you were engaged.
But I really think everyone should get a proposal.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I really want to see what.
Speaker 10 (28:16):
Is the point I've always dreamed of being proposed to.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
No, why is that being taken away? Because I proposed to.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
You the same I would love to be proposed to.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
I literally, like I feel.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
So that's like my only regret from like my wedding
era of life, season of life was that I didn't
I mean at this point, like.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
I mean, it would be shocking. Not now, it wouldn't
be shocking. He would to see it coming, he would
not see it coming.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
But it's so true, like why doesn't each party in
the partnership get to have that special moment, Like it
is so special.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
And it was so fun getting to do it, Like
it was so fun being on the other side, And
it was funny because.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
When Haley proposed to me.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
She was like, you were so caught off guard that
the look on your face was just like confused the
whole time.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
And then she did the same thing when I'm surprised.
Speaker 10 (29:12):
Yes, I got so like like I think, I said, like,
And the answer is yet, I got like so.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
Like, I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Also, I just want to talk about the ring for
a second, because it is gorgeous, Like, you did such
a good job.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
I've never seen a ring like that.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Well, I don't think I haven't talked about this on
the podcast, but I did I talk about this on
the podcast. Surprising her with the ring shopping, I don't
think so. I think I told.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
You, Oh, just me personally.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Yeah, I don't think many people knew about the ring shopping.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
But I surprised Hailey.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
By going on to try rings. She thought we were
going She thought we were going to the spa, and
I had the jeweler there with like rings for her
to try on. So I it was hard because she
was able to surprise me with everything, and I kind
of had to like be sneaky and figure out ways
to surprise her and still make it special.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
But she was so specific about what kind of ring
she wanted because she didn't really know what she liked that.
I was like, we're gonna have to do this together. Yeah,
but yeah, baby, you can tell them about your ring.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (30:42):
I mean, I just again, like I didn't growing up.
I didn't know that I was ever going to get
like proposed to her get married. So I just had
no idea what kind of ring I dreamt of, and
or like what kind of ring would look good on
my hand? Right, And so it was so cool to
get to like try on different shapes and like certain
(31:05):
shapes like compliment in my hand more than others or like,
and so the ring that I have, if you were
to be like what.
Speaker 7 (31:13):
I would, I don't.
Speaker 10 (31:14):
I couldn't tell you, like what ring I would have
picked out. Like I'm staring at.
Speaker 7 (31:18):
It right now.
Speaker 10 (31:19):
I'm sick on the couch and I'm just like, Wow,
I can't believe I have like this square diamond on
its side and this is like the one you know,
it's so cool, but it soaks my hands, Like I
don't have the skinniest, like longest finger. So I wanted
a ring that was gonna just be complimentary. So I'm
(31:40):
obsessed with it. I love it beca like I feel
like a princess.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
You are a princess.
Speaker 7 (31:48):
Princess, I'm a princess.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
So it was It was really fun and everyone every
thing went a court. It made me feel also so
confident in knowing Haley because I just almost could predict
how she was going to react to every ring like
it was perfect.
Speaker 10 (32:11):
It's so scary, like she literally she plans like this
New Zealand trip in January, and I'm over here like
having meetings with my team, Like, hey, like Becca's gonna
propose to be in January, so I need to take
I know I'm leaving for Japan, but I need to
take a couple more weeks off because like.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
Like you know, this is happening and all of that
was fake.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Yeah, And then we got home less and yesterday at
the airport, she goes, so did to nim get us
a car?
Speaker 8 (32:38):
And I was like, I am again, it is me, right,
I am her?
Speaker 3 (32:44):
She is me? Andem is done needs a break from us.
Speaker 7 (32:51):
Yeah, she doesn't want to hear from us for a
long time.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Tom would be like, Haley's back with more requests, Okay,
tell her, yes, I guess they are.
Speaker 10 (33:01):
When you're going on a big trip like that. You know,
it's like there's a lot of pieces components to it. Yeah,
people plan trips to Japan and like for years.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
You know, yeah, it's a lot.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
It made me realize how much of a planner I
am not, and that I just like go on these
trips like we'll figure.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Right, give me a fighting hotel and I am good to.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Go, and I'm good to go. It's not what I need.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Well, babe, I hope you're feeling better on the couch.
I'll be home to take care of you soon.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
But we love you, Haley.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Congratulations, so so happy for you.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Thanks for letting us in on your love story. You guys,
that was such a beautiful thing. And I feel so
lucky that we get to like witness this happen.
Speaker 10 (33:42):
Oh, I love you, I love you guys, have fun,
love you.
Speaker 7 (33:51):
Okay, bye bye.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
This really is like the best season of life.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah, it's so fun.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
And you know, for a long time it was the
question was like when we wedding plane, when youre in
a wedding plane, and I was like, well, I want
to propose to her first. So now I feel like
we can really like kind of start thinking about that now,
because for a long time I was.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
That text out there. What I did throw that text
out there?
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Yeah, I mean everyone's like, okay, when's the wedding. One
thing at a time, people, but it does open. Now
that that's done, it feels like, Okay, now we can
start going into that process.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
So it was so fun.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
And unfortunately she did get sick at the end of
the trip, but you know, it was like at least
at the end and not the beginning.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
And yeah, how many days, like the last day.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Last two days. I know she had a tough flight home.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
I know, peaks and valleys, you know, hids and lows,
highs and lows.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Life keeps you humble. Yeah, So it was really amazing
and thank you all for all the love. I loved.
All the scrubbers were.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Like I knew it was going to happen, and it
was hard because we didn't get our photos for a minute.
And our photographer, his name's Gilbert. He is incredible and.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
The photos were stunning.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
I like wanted it to look like a movie and
he absolutely delivered. His Instagram is Gilbert. I don't know
how you say his It's Gilbert R. H. E. Zap
and he was incredible. He's a destination photographer, so even
if you're not in Japan.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Oh, he goes anywhere. We'll go anywhere. I'll have the
right price.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
But anyways, Yeah, it was just amazing and it was
so fun and and then it was so nice to
come home to our cozy new backyard and house and Phoebe.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Miss Phoebe so much.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
But it just felt like, Okay, we're I just am
beaming with gratitude.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, Like it feels official now, even though it was
official before.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Yeah, like I said, it was like we were locked in.
I just added a little extra security. Yeah, dead bolted.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
It wasn't even that though.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
It was more like I knew how important it was
to Haley to have that, and like she as she
said before, like she didn't think she would ever get
to have like marriage or the potential to get married.
And I feel like being her partner and like getting
to be the one to plan that and propose and
buy her ring.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
You know, it was just like how so.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
Special that is a memory that you guys are gonna
have forever.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah, it was just so and I'm so happy Marla
got to be there and be a part of it,
and it was just it was so fun.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
It was such a Moore Marla, like if the shoe
it feels like reverse and like you and I Ron,
and then Haley proposed I would literally be like Homer
Simpson and just like the back into the No.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
It was perfect because like we had separate rooms and
like she would go do her own thing and like
do what because I was like, listen, I want you.
This is your trip to Japan, so like I want
you to enjoy yourself and don't feel like you have
to be on our schedule. But it was so fun.
We did so much together but also thing and it
was it was perfect. So yeah, it was a dream
(37:02):
and it's so fun going into the holidays.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Now. Yeah, and now we start a wedding planning and
now wedding planning begins.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Which we'll get into in our next podcast.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Wow, have some questions.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Love you, Love you bye,
