Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the almost Famous podcast with iHeartRadio. Hi everybody,
welcome back to the Almost Famous OG podcast. It's Trista
and Bob, who you know, finally is here. We've been
waiting for a long time.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
So sorry, so sorry about that.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
My god, It's fine. I was just doing work, which
is what I can do at any moment of any
day anyway. And we are so excited because we're going
to recap the first episode of season two of The
Golden Bachelor, one of my favorites. Yeah, and then with
Mel Owens. Obviously, he's been in the news since you
did that podcast, and there was talk about him maybe
(00:42):
not doing it, so I'm glad it's still going. And
I thought the episode was awesome. I am really excited
for this season.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
I am too.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah, you know, I gotta be honest. I don't know
what it was, but part of me was expecting not
to like Mel. I don't know if it was because
of all the noise we've heard around, you know, the podcast,
all that stuff. But I don't know if they coached him.
I don't know if this was his own call or not.
I think, I honestly think is probably a combination of both.
But he came right out and addressed the elephant in
the room right right away.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
A couple of ladies as they were getting out of
the limos said some things to him, and he was like,
I am so sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
That was so insensitive, you know, And I get it.
I mean, if.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Anyone has said dumb things in passing and didn't realize
it would hurt somebody, that's totally me. I mean I've
done that a million times, and I mean no ill
to anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
And man, I've.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Said some things and I think it's all funny because
I make fun of me. You know, I would make
fun of myself and my own age, and so I
guess in turn. But whatever it was, he owned it
and it's over, right. I think he squashed it. It's over,
is over, I hope.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
So yeah, I don't want them to rehash it every
single week. But yes, I am really glad he went
into the mansion and said, I am so sorry for
my comments. There's no age or number to spirit and
all of that. So but before we get into the episode,
Ashley and Ben did a little what do we call it?
(02:04):
Fantasy League for the Bat for the Golden Bachelor on bracketology,
which I had no idea about, which is actually so
much fun. I played based on me. I don't play
a Big Brother. I watch Big Brother, and I totally
would have done that with Big Brother had I known.
So anyway, we have brackets on bracketology, yes, and we
(02:24):
wanted to get in on the action too, So Bob,
do you want to go first? And and and of
course this is not sponsored. This is just for fun.
You know, we're doing this just for fun, picking our picks,
and we're going all the way to the end. And
this is before we watched the show. I mean, I
will say I got real confused, and I told our
(02:45):
producer while we were waiting for you, my brain is
not functioning that well these days. So I'm sorry for
my confusion. But I had watched a teeny tiny bit,
like just the Limo entrances, but we hadn't seen when
we made our predictions, right, any of the episodes, you know,
the good stuff. So we're going, we're fast forwarding all
(03:06):
the way to hometown picks, and we are in the
first Impressions bracket, which is like the most traditional bracket. Okay,
so why don't you start and tell me and I'll
say the same. What kind of went into your decision making? Yeah,
did you think about looks, career names? Did you study
the trailer and the clips? Tell me all the things?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So I will be honest, I looked at I think
my evaluation criteria probably was Looks.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
If I looked in their bio or.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Whatever it was, that like whatever their little kind of
synopsis was, and it said that they were active, right,
if that was an important thing.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
To them, totally, yep.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
And that was important because I don't know Mel. I
don't know anything about Mel other than the podcast, right,
and the fact that he was a former football player.
And I think I told you Trista that one of
my buddies who's also a former NFL player knows him
or knew him years ago, And so.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
I had nothing to go on. So I was like, Okay,
he said, and this is the last time.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
I promised, this will be the last time we talked
about this. But he's like, I don't want any fake
hips and any of this. So I'm like, okay, he
wants active people, right, So in my mind, that went
into it.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Looks went into it, and.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Then self image of what I think he sees himself as.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Went into it too, right, So I was like, who.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Do I think, who do you want to be with?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Who he would he want to be with? Right?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
And then he would want to see have in photos
next to him?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yes, yeah, Like who do you want to and who's
got something going on that he would respect and admire
career wise? Because I know professional football guys. Man, they
you know, they they've reached the pinnacle and they expect
everyone else to reach it too, right, It's just the
way it's of they sure the beast and I and
I love that.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
So that that's kind of what went into it for me.
And I was.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Guessing after a while at you know, as we got
as we went through these Rose ceremonies. I was guessing
because I was sight unseen on a lot of it.
But I feel like, after watching last night's episode, I
feel like my picks could be pretty.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Good awesome, Okay, So for me what went into it is, uh,
I looked back at the trailers and like the previews
that they've put out so far. And at first, you know,
I told you about my confusion. I thought we were
just picking five people. So I picked I picked one
(05:27):
based on the fact that she's the twin sister of
somebody else in the franchise. Yeah, and then and we'll
get into that, but we won't actually because I don't
have her going all the way. But that was that
first time. And then I looked at the trailers and
the like preview of the season that they've put out,
and I was like, Okay, who is in these previews.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
That's smart, that's very smart. I should have done that.
Didn't even think about it.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
So I looked at the previews and that's kind of
what I based, like the where I should get my
my bucket from you, I should pull from the bucket,
and then kind of used a little bit of what
you were saying, like where do they live? If they
lived in California. They kind of got some bonus points
because I think that I, as someone who has a
(06:14):
kid in high school, I don't think he's going to
want to move. I think his kid is probably a
junior or senior, so it seems like he's not gonna
like move just totally. Not that he couldn't move until later.
But anyway, I was thinking California.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I thought that was a big criteria for me too.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
By the way, I was thinking easily commutable if they're
not in California, Seattle, maybe you know, Vegas, maybe because
there's a couple of ladies from Vegas.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
So yeah, I was.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
And I know there are women who would move, but
I feel like Teresa and Gary like kind of prove this.
It's really hard when you're their age and your family
is established where they're established, and you don't want to
leave your family and your grandkids.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
And do you know my dentist.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
So I was at my dentist appointment today just as
a side note, and yeah, I was watching I was
watching the last part of the up episode because and
she she as I walked in, she's like, well, what
are you doing? Cause I shut it off? And she goes,
well what are you doing? And I said, oh, I'm
just watching a show that I have to talk about tonight.
And she goes Golden Bachelor, and I said, yeah, I go,
(07:14):
you go, I go, Na, And now I know I
can't watch it while you're cleaning my teeth, and and
she goes, it's just such a shame what happened with
the last couple. She's like, why did they have to
try and get married and live together? Like just you know,
it would have been so great to have that companionship
and then they could have worked it out over time.
And she's like, no one's moving when they got grandkids
and kids. And I'm like, yeah, good point. And she
was probably fifty five maybe sixty, you know, and had
(07:37):
that opinion, and so I was like, wow, okay, that's good,
that's informative.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
I'd already have my picks in. But thankfully she was thinking.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Like me, okay, okay, so who are your picks. Who
are your picks for hometowns.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Let's go one at a time, and before we do,
let's make sure that our producer, Heather, keeps close track
of these picks, because I think we should have something
some type of a wager, not a creepy, weird not
like that Ben and Ashley type of you know.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Yeah, No, we don't need to be giving each other's
shoulder massages, because I don't think Ryan would like that.
I don't suggest would like it either.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
To be honest, Canyon would love it. She'd be like,
oh great, now at least he's touching somebody else.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Leave me alone. She says it a lot of time.
But I'm not as.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Worried about her rat I am of the silent, deadly
man that I had as a roommate twenty two years ago,
So we're not doing that.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Easton says Ben gives the best. Oh, I guess Ben
gives the best massages.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Well I did get a nice deep tissue massage from
him once, you know, all over body massage, and I
will say, uh, it was weird.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Now I'm just kidding.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
It was delightful. Okay, we could you know what we
could do? We could do why don't we do? And
this is not a sponsor of our show, but maybe
we could make them one the app that you can
order someone a massage at their home.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Have you ever done that?
Speaker 1 (08:50):
What do you mean? What do you mean through that?
Speaker 2 (08:52):
You gets them all the time.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
There's an app and you can get a massage and
they come to your home.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
They set up a massage table on your map.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Oh yeah, they're like all license massage therapists and they
come down.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
So if you win, I'll order you one of those,
or you can go conventional. That's okay.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Let's just not do four seasons, right, So I don't
want to, you know, miss my diapers and mortgage for
the month, So we'll just do a h we'll do
something like that though. I'll get you a massage and
you can get me one.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Okay, done.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
So when I get mine, just so you know, because
I have a feeling. Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
So who are your for hometowns?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (09:26):
So I don't want to have this is a spoiler
alert everybody, because I happened to know that all of
mine made it through.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
So I'm gonna save that part. Okay, I'll give you one.
I'm gonna give you one at the time, in the.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Order, hold on the mine, Come on, hurry, let's go.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I think Jerry Jerry is a hometown pick. Okay, Jerry
got the first impression Rose last night. Yep.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Based on that, she's not going to make it that far,
but go ahead.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Vallid Monica b okay Nicole?
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Which one's Monica be the dentist or the flight attendant? Yes?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yes, Nicole? Who is uh from Miami? Kiss KISSI Magoo,
hot lipschoola hand Nicole.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
You've heard all the names because we called you the
kissing bandit. Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
He did get called all those names.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
So welcome to the club, Nicole, and uh, Carol, that's
my last home toop pic So I've got Jerry, Monica,
b Nicole, and.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Carol you go, okay, Okay, I've got Roxanne Nice Roxanne.
Just I thought in one of the trailers there was
long brown here. I think it turned out to be
somebody else, But it's okay, Roxanne, Nicole, will you share
that sentiment the.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Dancer, the former Dallas Mavericks cheerleader.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Former dancer with the gorgeous blue eyes.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Gorgeous blue eyes.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
That's a really good one.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
And Carol Okay, So where Carol and Nicole are are
two that we're sharing in the top four? Okay? So
what's your top three fantasy.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Suite fantasy sweets? Jerry again yep, Nicole.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Okay, and Carol okay. I've got Nicole, Carroll and Cindy. Okay.
What are your final two?
Speaker 3 (11:10):
God, be honest, I'm really upset with myself on the
Cindy thing right now.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I'm really I'm really thinking that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
And you know another one, Debbie, Debbie who didn't the
first time she found love was forty five.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
She's a fitness professional. I liked her.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
No, I'm so mad that I didn't pick her because
she lives in Denver, and I should have just voted
for my Denver girl.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
You should have because historically you people do pretty well
in there in that town. So yeah, Carol, Jerry, Nicole,
and you have Carol, Cindy Nicole. Okay, I want to
switch it up now. I want to go to you
for your final two picks.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Okay, I've got Carol and Cindy.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Wow, I got Carol and Nicole.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Oh boy, okay, do we both have the same final pick? Ready?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Say on one on the three?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
On three? One two three, Carol?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Carrol, But you didn't say it on Wait I said one,
two three, Carol? What was I supposed to do?
Speaker 1 (12:08):
We were supposed to say it at the same time.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Oh okay, I thought you met. So was it on
three or are we going to say it on three?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Okay? Anyway, that's in.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Every movie that they do that violent. So we both
think Carol's the way.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
We both picked Carol. Oh my gosh, that's funny. So
how we're going to determine is the number two and
number three?
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Yep, because yeah, that's really going to come down to it. Now,
how did you Okay, what was the driving because we
neither one of us knew anything about these ladies.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
What was the And I will tell you this last night.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
When we start talking about the show, Actually, i'll tell
you one of my sleeper picks that I really thought
was going to go far, and she got.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Sent home the first night.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
And then when I went back through my back through
my stuff, I was like.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Oh, wait a minute, I didn't choose her, and I
was shocked.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
So I had her getting in the wait, did I
have her getting in the first one? I didn't, So
I'm shocked by that. Yes, I was, because from the pictures,
I'm like, oh, that girl for sure. So what I
was thinking, I mean, this is it's very superficial, right,
But I was thinking, oh, he's going to choose you know,
just based on those comments. I mean, it's horrible that
(13:22):
that's what I was doing. But I'm like, I got
this guy dialed. I got this guy dialed. I'm looking
at anybody close to seventy. I'm like, oh, he's probably
not picking them. But then then I started thinking the
antithesis theory. Maybe because he said these things, now he
wanted to prove to everybody and he wasn't that guy right,
(13:43):
So he's going to keep a couple of picks that
maybe are a little bit older or maybe don't look
as young or whatever as he. And so you know,
I think I started he started messing with my mind.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I got in my own head.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I think it would have been much easier if I
would have just stuck with my original theory. So it's
coming down to points for us. We both got Carol.
Speaker 4 (14:08):

zero zero four six eight forty two ninety two.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Okay, So moving on to the recap. Yes, I just
in general, I feel like, you know, the show is
with a whole new production team now, and I think
there was like curiosity as to whether or not it
would look the same, feel the same, be the same
format all of that. I feel like in general it
(15:08):
really is the same everything except for they did the
rose ceremony outside by the pool yep. And then I
feel like the itms kind of have a more like
sophisticated look to them, Like in the background it was
really pretty and very high definition.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Well. The other thing that I thought was interesting was,
as you recall, we were always battle in daylight, like
we were moving through the night because they they wanted
the appeal or the appearance I should say to be
that it was still nighttime and we would get done
at four forty five in the morning, right Soun's coming up.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
These ladies and mel clearly worked through the night. I mean,
the sun was ah.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
But you know what, I think that happened in Golden
Bachelor one. I want to say that they Yeah, I
feel like there was another another one of these that
that was something that happened that they moved on or
they kept going until kind.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Of I felt sorry for the Goldens.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I mean, I totally did. I'm like, come on, I mean,
I'm I'm like if I'm in bed by nine thirty.
I'm so happy and I can't even imagine it was.
And it's a lot because it's not just you're at
home and you're Jammy's like staying up late. You're like
on there's television cameras everywhere, so you're not just chilling
(16:34):
watching a movie.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yeah, the women are wearing heels and dresses and it's like, yes,
they're on their feet all night, and it's just yeah,
I mean, you're you're having some drinks.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
You know, I know it's not like it used to be,
but you know.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
They're having some drinks. And I feel like that's that's
exhausting for anybody. And as a fifty some year old man,
I can tell you MEL had to be exhausted because
I go to bed every night around nine o'clock.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Yes, yeah, right, seriously, So okay, what did Oh Yeah,
the furniture, it definitely looked more modern. They have definitely
done some things to change up the interior, which I
actually really liked.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I thought it looked good. It looked really good.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, and the limo pieces were a little speedier than normal.
I felt like there wasn't a lot of time spent
on each person's shick stick or whatever.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Right, which I'm happy about because I hate the stick. Yeah,
And so I was actually I was happy with them
kind of motoring through that. There was only the one
woman on the on the motorcycle who I really thought.
She was adorable and I loved her story and I
liked their connection too. In fact, when I after watching
that first episode, I'm like, oh, I should have had
her in my final.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
I same, same, yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
But I really like her. She could be a sleeper,
she and Debbie could both be sleepers.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
But she's not a sleeper. She gets the first yeah,
one one, so I don't think she's a sleeper. I
think she's definitely coming out the gate, like you know
in Fuego. Yeah, And all the women were saying, we
think that you're going to get the first impression Ros
because that motorcycle entrance was amazing, and I think they
really connected on like the active lifestyle thing, you know,
(18:12):
like her fifty one trophies or whatever.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Well, and then she got into her story about her family.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Holy smokes, I mean that was wasn't that crazy?
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I literally went like, oh, like this when she said
that her husband showed up and took her son, like.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Well the first part.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Actually, I actually walked into our bedroom and told Kenyon,
I'm like, when you watch the show, you are going
to die about this woman's story. She goes in to
give birth for her first child, the most exciting and
a mom can say this more than a dad even,
but and terrifying moment of your life as an adult.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
And he just doesn't show up and disappears. It's like,
what the hell?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Like I honestly was like, if this dude is still around,
we should go find him and roll him, you know,
and you know pass, but it's like she and she
forgave him, which I think, you know, it was pretty crazy.
But yeah, so then you had a little bit of
history about Mel's life. You see him with his sons interacting.
They show some history and some footage of him playing
football and he was a baller. I mean, he was
(19:13):
obviously a pro football player, but his sons seemed like
really sweet kids and like they have a nice relationship
with their dad, which I thought was nice to see.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah, you know, I love that. Yeah, I love that
dialogue between him and his boys. You can tell that
they have a really close relationship. Yeah, and they are
excited for him. And you know, want him to find happiness.
So I thought that was really really sweet. And he
said that he's only been in love once in his life,
(19:44):
which I kind of found hard to believe, being that
he had a professional football career and maybe he's just
being honest that he had relationships, but not like, you know,
something that he had with his ex wife, right right,
So oh that was a little shocking to me. Not
that it matters, but it was. I was just like, wow,
(20:05):
that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah. But then but then Cheryl rolls down on that motorcycle.
That could be the second time. Who knows. It could
have been love at first.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Sight for him, a true story. It also could be
a red flag. So we'll see what happens, what transpires.
Do you think that they're going to get engaged whoever
he picks, If it's Carol.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
And we're right, If we're right and it's Carol, then yes.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yeah, yeah, yeah I think so.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
I think so too. I think.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
I think, you know, like one of the things I
liked about his package was he was kind of vulnerable,
you know, he was like, Yeah, I miss the companionship
and I miss having someone with me all the time,
and I like being in a relationship, and it was like,
you know, I think he was really obviously none of
us know the circumstances around his divorce, but it sounds like,
you know, he genuinely didn't want a divorce, and so yeah,
(20:53):
five years out of it, he's he's really genuinely interested
in finding a relationship.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
And you never, as you and I can both attest,
you never know.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
How real this whole circumstance is or situation is until
you're in it, right, it's all it's all like you're
taking it from watching a couple of shows or whatever, and.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
You're in it. And I saw Mel.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I felt like I saw Mel struggling with this when
when he had to send some women home at the
end of the first role ceremony and he was.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Genuinely feeling bad.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
And I remember, for myself that was the hardest and
you told me it would be, and you were right.
It was the hardest part about being the Bachelor was
breaking up with people who haven't done anything wrong, Yeah,
you know, and you're sending them home and you're like,
you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings and you don't
want them to think they're less than by any means,
because they're not and it's just maybe I got more
time with that person or maybe whatever.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
You know, and it's hard.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
It's a really hard thing to do if you if
you're an empathetic person.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
You know. So totally yes, okay, so entrances, I think
when we're getting ready for the limits, I love that
Jesse pointed out his shoes, Like, what's with the shoes?
Mel so funny. I think they're just orthopedic, you know, shoes,
not anything fancy. He just was saying, you know, I
(22:07):
have bad feet, and I think in the montage before
he was talking about you know, how is Peter bad
and his back is bad and you know all the
things that happened when you get older. Yea to most people.
So I thought that was really funny that I called
him up for his shoes, and more props to him
for wearing the comfy shoes instead of the ones that
are uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Somebody gave him good advice. I'm not sure who was.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Totally, you're going to be there very long, so.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Is going to be barking buddy? Yeah, they're gonna be okay.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
So who did who did you like? Which entrance was
your favorite besides the motorcycle.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
We already said, Cheryl, Yeah, I loved Carol's entrance that
you know, she's her yes nephew is as a ballplayer.
She throws them the ball and says, you know, hey,
you know, hey catch or whatever, and then she's got
the jack.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
I love that she's walking away. She didn't say anything,
and then she's walking away and he says something and
she's like, you know, oh yeah, I love that love.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
I love Sdy Freeman. She's like, I need to Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
That was kind of a cool connection and I and
I actually really liked it too that she didn't she
didn't throw it out there right away, and you know,
it was cute with the baseball begged the question of course,
you know, uh yeah, Terry with the puppet. That was
one that I would have coached her against that myself,
you know.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yeah, same same.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
I wasn't. I wasn't. That wasn't one of my favorites.
But that's okay. I mean it's all good, everyone to
each their own. I actually kind of like the ones
that there's really they're just like introducing themselves. But one
one of the ones that was my favorite based on
that is Cindy. I love that she was like, you know,
(23:47):
Cindy like Cinderella and I'm looking for my prince Charming
and what else did she oh talk to me before midnight?
I was like, that's all really cute. I love that
she used that, But it wasn't like in your face,
and it wasn't you know, giving him a kiss and
making him feel awkward in the first moment. But it
was cute and he remembered her.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
You know, it's so funny because these entrances didn't start
until long after our seasons.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
But I remember thinking at the time.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Like I think I've even told you this before, Like
we were all like, hell, why is Ruscott a Tiffany's box?
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Why didn't we do that?
Speaker 3 (24:22):
You know, your entrances for the Bachelorette, And I remember
just introducing myself and saying hi and letting you know
I was so excited to meet you or whatever. And
but but it's kind of funny, like I remember, we
didn't have any of these like staged entrances when I
was the bachelor either, and I'm so thankful that we
didn't because I would not have been the right audience
for these things.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Even though I love laughing, and I loved it. I
would have been like, what is going on right now?
Speaker 3 (24:46):
You know, like the bomb like peg the bomb lady
in the In the first of all, it was hilarious
that the bomb didn't go off, but the fact that
she's stuck with.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
The bit and the producers come out and do it
again and it's like.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Yeah, She's like no, no, no, we're doing this again.
We're doing this again until it goes off. So cute. Actually,
she is one that I feel like, after watching the episode,
I kind of wish I had had in my at
least top four.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, no, I think, yeah, yeah, it could be one that.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
I think she's going to go to. Yeah, And I
love that she's a firefighter. I love that she's a
firefighter and that she was part of a bomb squad
like that is that's a huge flex.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Do you know?
Speaker 3 (25:29):
I had a firefighter on my season. Her name was
Shay I still remember to this day. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful firefighter.
And I never got to talk to her the whole night. Never,
And so yeah, and I felt like if I kept her,
I would be judged for it because I didn't know,
I didn't know what they were going to keep in
(25:49):
what they were going to keep out. But she was
so captivating. But I was like, no, I never got
to talk to her. I'm not going to keep her,
you know. For whatever reason, the producers didn't have me
talk to her. I don't know why, you know, And
so I went with only people I talked to and
had a connection with. But I remember her, and I
remember thinking like that was so interesting, Like I would
have loved to talk to her and got to know her,
but I just never had a chance, you know.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yeah, No, I love that background. I love that she
she is super active. I wish I would have picked
her for that reason. You know. It seems like she's
up for an adventure, so that's great. Oh my gosh,
(26:32):
that was so cute when they played limbo.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, that was really cute. You know.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
I gotta say one more about the entrances before we
get past them. One person that I thought was going
to go very far, and then I realized I didn't
pick them, but upon seeing them was Lisa.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Lisa who was from Ohio and she.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Had a floral dress on.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Yes, she was like so cute and she came in
She's like, oh my god, all these beautiful women and
you're soulccomplished it.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
I work at a park and it.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Was like, I was like, oh my god, this woman
is going to go so far. And I didn't pick her? Yeah,
and I really Then I watched back one of the
previous that they played yesterday, and she's like gorgeous in
this green dress, and I'm like, how did I not
pick her?
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Like she'll be on a Bachelor in Paradise or whatever
they do if they bring them on. I think she's
adorable and I love her like quirkiness that she was
kind of like she's kind of like Lisa Kudrou and friends,
like you know, like I don't know at least that's
how she came across to me, but I think she
was really endearing.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
I did too.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
I thought she was adorable and I when I when,
you know, not to spoil anything, but yeah, I was shocked.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Let's just say that, so.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
We are spoiling everything. I am like, no, we are,
this is the whole purpose where we cap okay so
or Jerry and mel. I really loved the fact that
she shared that that note with him took from her
daughter and then and then moving on to the next episode,
and we'll obviously fast forward a little bit. But Cindy
(28:05):
when he shared the video with her of her daughter
getting hired by Diana Ross and crazy, Oh that was
so sweet. I love those personal moments like that. Those
are really important, I feel like in the process, especially
in those moments.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
I mean, you know, with Mel's history, right, growing up
in the in Detroit, which, by the way, finally another
Detroit Bachelor.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
It's taken a week.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
But growing up in the city Detroit and living across
the alleyway from Diana Ross, I mean, how crazy is that?
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Crazy? Yeah, and the connection and you know, I'm all
about signs. Like when Ryan and I went to Lakita
and we saw three different weddings, I was like, Okay,
there's something to this. I think there might be something
to that too. So when I saw that, I'm like, yeah, Sidney.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Go Cidy. I can't believe I didn't keep Cindy longer.
And now I'm so upset with my bracket.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Oh no, I mean, who knows what's going to happen.
But okay, so Jerry gets the first impression Rose. But
as I said, when you picked Jerry to be in
final four Fantasy Suits or wherever you how long.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
However, I have her in hometowns.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
I think, yeah, I think if we look at statistics
that the person who gets the first impression Rows usually
is not the one that they pick at the end.
I don't know why that is.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Yes, you're right, And it's funny because the second she
got the first impression Rows, I was like.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
I might have just screwed my home. Oh really, It's
like it's like when Duke.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
It's like when Duke upset Michigan State in the first round,
and I had Michigan State going all the way, I'm like, oh,
a bracketbuster right there. I don't know, but it sure
felt that way. In that moment, I was like, they
never go the.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Distance, you know, totally okay. So the people who got
eliminated there were six ladies, Maya, who shockingly is the youngest.
She was I think, what was she fifty eight? How
old was she? She's fifty eight, so she was the
youngest at fifty eight, and I mean dropped at gorgeous
(30:07):
and lives in Malibu. So that was a little shocking.
But who you never know what happens, and if there's no.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Like no connection made.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Chemistry, connection whatever. Andra who went home? Who is Sandra's
twin sister. I love Sandra. She has the best sense
of humor. And I thought for sure that the producers
would at least if he didn't want to keep her,
that they would say, we're going to keep her at
least just one week, one more week so she gets
(30:38):
more airtime or whatever.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
So I was shocked about Andra.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
I was too.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
And then we've got Lily, Lisa, Tracy, and Susie.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Okay. I thought Lily, Lily and Lisa I thought would
go longer for sure. I was surprised.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Oh, Lisa was the cutie pie, like Lisa kudrou Oh, yeah,
that's funny. Her name is Lisa.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
See there.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Oh I had her at Rose Ceremony three, not leaving
the first night.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Ye, yes, yeah, I would have. I'm shocked I didn't
have Lisa. I didn't have Lisa making it. And I'm
really shocked I didn't because when I when she came
out of the screen, I'm like, oh my god, she's
gonna be she's gonna be tough to be.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, she's cute. Okay, So the ladies come in the
next day into the mansion and they're so excited, and
I love how excited they are. It took me back
to when I went to like surprise the ladies on
first season of Golden and they were just so cute
and excited. I was like, this is I love this energy.
(31:45):
They just love being here.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
I'll guarantee they have you back this season. They're going
to have to if they haven't.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
No, they're not. I think they're already done.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Oh you're kidding.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
I don't. I mean, I don't know, but they're not
having me back. I don't think. So I would love to,
I mean I would that please.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Okay, So the ladies enter the mansion very excited, and
he says, Jesse comes in. There's two dates, one one
on one and one huge group date. Obviously the one
on one is very coveted, and it turns out to
be the princess date right out the gate, which I
was like, they've never done that before. I don't think
(32:23):
rolls Royce jewelry, a gorgeous gown. I did. I thought
it was really really cute that as Cheryl's getting dressed,
she had a few women there like kind of like
cheering her on and saying, oh, that's the one I
wondered how they picked those girls, like are those girls
that she's hanging out with, or are those girls that
they're like, you know, you three come with us or whatever?
(32:45):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
I always i'd be interested to know that too, because
first of all, they seemed, you know, and this is
what I love about the Golden Franchise. They seemed genuinely
excited for her, like there was right, no, there was
no you know, acrimonious type of you know, it was like.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
You look at me.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
And I loved her reaction to the whole thing. And
this is before we did we know her story yet
I think we must have hit this.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
We did it on that on the one on one
when they were yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
It was just like, oh my god, she's And I
even thought to myself, I'm like, you never put on
a couple dresses like what you know what and the
in her story then when you oh my god, then
when you hear her story, it's like.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I know, I just my heart, I mean, I just yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
It made me really really love her and feel like, man,
they they really they really knocked it out of the
park with giving her the Princess date, because I think
that she had never had that experience and now she
was having it.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
And you know, even if she.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Goes home at some point sooner than she wants to,
if our brackets are wrong, which they might, they might be,
because she could be.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Someone pretty special for this whole show.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
But I just think I think that reaction was so
genuine and so I loved it.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I know the fact that she was crying over it.
This is just so sweet. And then we have the
cheerleading date in the Colisseum, which is really cool because
he played football there. Uh and it's so funny. I
was watching it in our kitchen on my phone as
like Ryan's doing something in the background and I was like, oh,
I totally know who this is gonna be, and I'm
(34:22):
like shooting it out. He's like, what is going on
with you? I know I wasn't, but I don't think
he was paying attention to me. So I love that
Paul Abdul he came on for the cheerleading date. That is,
she's so iconic in that space, so perfect, and I
do oh, I do have to say there is one
(34:44):
lady who, especially on this date, I loved her amy,
her energy, She's the one with the two twin girls.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Oh yeah, who held up.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
The like sign? Always my she's always like she just
seems like she's so bubbling and wants to have fun,
Like I just want to be friends with her. She
seems like such a positive energy. She's so cute.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Yeah she's real cute.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Yeah, so cute. So I loved her energy on that date.
Let's see who else stood out at that date.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Well, you're girl, Cindy. That's when we find out las
Mavericks cheerleader. I don't even think that had come up previously,
had it Like, I don't think it was in her
her original tagline or anything.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
It wasn't nope, nope, it all of.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
A sudden it comes up. I also thought, yeah, peg
was a great standout to you. I thought, what's kind
of like the Jersey chick is like, I know, I
ain't know, cheerleader, I'm gonna get out there and have
a dance or whatever?
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Did she gets out? That's Amy?
Speaker 1 (35:44):
I love her. I wanted to have fun. She's like,
I don't care it is going to do.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Like, who the hell is Amy?
Speaker 1 (35:53):
And then Diane who's the Alaskan with the really short
gray hairs. I love her.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
I love her any Her.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Sense of humor is like, she was good with the
one liners. I think she would have been great to have,
you know, longer in the show. But yeah, I loved her.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Too, you know.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
So she her hair cut and this is please for
anyone listening, understand I'm going to say. I say this
in the most flattering of ways. Okay, she reminds me
so much of my grandma that passed away, you know,
many several years ago. But my grandma was gonna be
with me on my hometown dates on The Bachelor when
we came home, and I was so excited and my
grandma was so excited to be on television. And she
(36:38):
fell down and got a huge cut on her face
the week of filming and yeah, like it literally like
slipped and fell. I don't know if she tripped over
her dog or something, and so she wasn't she was there,
but she wasn't on camera at all because she was
too embarrassed.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
And I'm like, Grandma, you still look beautiful, you know.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
But she had that kind of a fun, you know,
personality where she just say she was from Pennsylvania. And
I don't know why, but whenever I meet people from Alaska.
It makes me think of Pennsylvania.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I know geographically they're not even really close to one another,
but for some reason it does.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
And I was I just like, because it's just like.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
An outdoor like people who grew up in those areas
are like outdoorsy people, you know.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
And whatever, keep going.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
She's got her Alaskan thing going on. She said, what
the fuck is wrong with you?
Speaker 3 (37:19):
You know, I'm like, what, Yes, I just thought it
was funny and she reminded me of my grandma, and
so I wanted her to go farther.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
But I mean there, You're right.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
She was so quirky and funny and just doing silly
stuff and making everybody laugh.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
And you know, it was she is. She's adorable.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
She is adorable. And then we have the rose at
that after party date because I think it was Mel's
GB Girls or something like that.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
GB. And why did they never talk to me?
Speaker 1 (37:48):
Bachelor? Oh yeah, it takes you a while. I'm very
embarrassed for you, but that's.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
I asked that, do you know? I wrote that down
last night? Like what the hell is Gboway?
Speaker 1 (38:05):
So like me, Bob, go get your brain checked just
like me, because oh, I'm worried about mine. Okay. So
they win the cheerleading date and they get the after party,
and then they go to the after party and they
have these great conversations. Cindy especially that's when he shared
with her his daughter's or her daughter's little video that
(38:25):
she's dancing for Diana Roth and uh, Cindy ends up
getting the rose from the date the date rose. So
I love that she got the date rose. I felt like,
I mean from what we see. Of course, as you
all know out there, there's so much that ends up
on the cutting room floor, so we don't we see
a fraction like he's a tiny part. But yes, there
(38:48):
was lots of kissing they had. I love that she
was like and we went in for a second, and
we went in for a third and we were was
really cute. Okay, so we've got Cindy gets the rose
at the after party, and then the next day they
(39:09):
have a pool party and geez, I mean, let's let's
say this. These women are freaking goals, like they are hot,
Like come on, yeah, it was it was true, and
I'm like, she's seventy, like what the heck?
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Yeah, shock, first of all, is shocked that Mel.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Mel looks amazing.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Mel looks amazing too, Yea, that dude's been.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Working out and has it stopped. He's a he's a
brick house, as we say in the business. And uh,
and I don't know what the business is. I just
made that part.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
I was just going to ask you that.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Well, I have a I have a side bizz you know,
body by Bob.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
It's a you know, it's the thing where we make
sure people don't go in that direction.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Mel's not ever been a client, never would be.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
No, But I'm saying like he's yoked, right, I mean
he's he's like, he's like, a how old is he?
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Seventy? How old is man?
Speaker 1 (40:02):
I don't know. I mean, no, hold noll is hold please?
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Yeah, I guess I never even looked that up. But yeah, so,
I mean Mel is an older gentleman, a former professional athlete,
sixty six and ripped.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
I mean, he looked great.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
And then he and he knows he does because I
mean he was he was selling it. He's like, well,
I might already have my suit on ladies.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
You know, and then and then he jumps in with
his shoes and his microphone.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yeah, I know. Production wasn't loving that.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
I was like, oh he just got it talking to
Yeah he did.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
But the ladies all looked amazing, every single one.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
Of them, and amazing.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
What I love about this age is the confidence, you
know what I mean? So like even if they maybe
they don't look amazing, but they all do ps But
it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
They're there.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
They're there, they know who they are. They're comfortable in
their skin. If he doesn't like it, you know, screw him,
right or whatever. Yeah, And I love that. And they
were there was a lot of girl.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Power out there, a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
They were very supportive of one another, having the time
of their lives, dancing like crazy people.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
It was It was a fun episode. It was very fun.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
It was really fun. The only part and we know
who are villain is gonna be this season. It was
Nicole in the pool with her hands and her lips
and everything all over him. And I think at one
point one point he actually said we should wait. So
was that in the pool? Yeah, He's like, maybe this
(41:31):
isn't right to do here, maybe we should ease up
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
Well, one of the ladies I loved one of the comments.
I don't even know who set up, but they go,
Nicole jumps in and she's climbing them like a tree.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
I thought that was pretty that it.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Was Cindy, I think I think that was Cindy. And
then Terry, I think was the one who was commenting
on She's like, hey, look over there, look at what
he's doing. I'm not cool with that. You know, I
wouldn't be either. I didn't think it was really appropriate
it much, you know. I mean, I get it that
she's like, I got to shoot my shot, but do
(42:03):
you really like in that way? Like I feel like.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
As a former kissing bandit on the show, Yes, I
will say this, I did not ever do that in
front of a group of ladies. Like, yes, I kissed
a lot of people, there's no question, but it was
always when we were off somewhere by ourselves or I
wasn't ever macing on somebody in front of the crew,
you know. And yeah, if you remember from your season
of The Bachelor Bachelrette and we even talked about this
when Jamie Blythe was on the show and when Ryan
(42:30):
and I have done the show together, I was like, guys,
think about her, like your sister, do you really want
four dudes watching you guys try to make out. No
one wants to see that, like, and I remember Jamie Blitz, like.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
And by the way, you just said that you told
everyone to think I was their sister.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Oh god, you know, it does sound terrible.
Speaker 1 (42:57):
Anyway anyway, So okay, so what I what I take
(43:17):
away from that is, you know, either and she kind
of said this, like it's time with him, so get
out of my way. I've always felt that's a little disrespectful,
like respect the rest of the people in the room,
but it's a two lane highway, so he is also
(43:39):
part of it. And I feel like he probably should
have like backed off a little bit earlier and said, hey,
let's maybe let's can we go talk somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
Or so let's take a walk around the corner or something.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Yes, like somethings so it's not in everyone's faces, and
not disrespect Nicole because she didn't just or that, but
at the same time, like maybe say let's let's go
somewhere where it's a little more private.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Totally agree.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Yeah, I felt like that was a bad look, you know,
And yeah, I get it. It's a it's a weird
situation to be in when totally someone just walks up
and starts making out with you, and you do want
to let them know you're interested, but at the same time,
you are in front of a bunch of other people
you need to show respect to. So it's a tough
spot to be in for sure. But you know, he
(44:28):
got it eventually, he got he got the memo.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Eventually, it just took him at Okay.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
So we get to the Rose ceremony and the people
that went home are my leans. She was the Vegas
Model service I think, yeah, VIP host and then which
I thought is amazing. At her age, she's still partying
at the Vegas like in the Vegas scene.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
I was like, Wow, that's crazy. It amazing crazy.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Ashley and Ben will be sad about my They had
her going far oh you know what I actually did
in the beginning, like right away, and then I was like,
I don't know if Vegas is like his scene, I don't,
you know, like more like the location. I kind of
(45:19):
honed in on that, and then yeah, I thought I
would have her going a little bit farther, but I didn't. Anyway,
she went home, unfortunately, and then Diane, who I was
so sad, but she was See. This is why I
love her too, is that she was leaving and like
one of them, Carla, who gosh, she's gorgeous too. Carlo
(45:42):
walked up and she like didn't even give him a hug,
and I'm like, you know, it's all good, don't give
him a hug. But I loved that. Diane was like
sweet about it. She was like, oh, thank you so much,
mel you know.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
What I mean, Like, you know what I feel like,
it says so much more about that person in the moment.
Like I say this to my kids all the time
when they're disappointed in something and I'm like, hey, it's
not that person's fault, right, It's like, yeah, it doesn't,
you know. I mean I'm talking about everything from you know,
your your buddy's scoring a goal on you in soccer
to whatever.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Right, But it's always like, you know, be gracious.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Because you never know, you never know what's going to happen,
and you never know what that person's going through, and
you know, God forbid, you might have reminded him of
his ex wife and we don't know what she likes.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
I mean, you never know.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
You know, there's a bunch of things out there and
I mean, but yeah, kind of interesting that that that
kind of unfolded the way it did. I was shocked
at a couple of those as well. I did think
at that point that that she'd be going home, Diane
would be on home, because I felt like that that
whole thing with Nicole for whatever reason, and maybe it's
(46:47):
because I do feel like Diane looks like my grandma.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
And I don't know why I'm thinking this way.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
I felt like she was probably like disappointed in Mel
for the pool makeout sash, you know, and so she
was probably like, I'm good to go home. You know,
this is you know, but I but again, I think
it's prejudice in my mind, you know.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
Yeah, So we get at the end, after the rose ceremony,
of course, we get previous They are my favorite thing.
Like when I go to a movie, I love the
previews me too, even though they go on forever these days,
I'm like, I do love a good previews. So I
love the previews. And there are a lot of times,
not even just for this, that I'm pausing.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
It in like, yeah, are they making out wearing the
same shirt?
Speaker 1 (47:31):
Yeah, So it seems like Nicole maybe causing a little
bit more attension with being physical with him. There is
lots there is lots of crying. There are lots of
There is lots of crying.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Yeah, there is lots of crying. There's a lot of.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
And then I am so sad, so case in point
that I'm not going to be asked to be on
the season. I know in Debbie's footage where she was
kissing him that they're at Red Rocks, which is like
a like a very famous, yes, a very famous location
for concerts, and I did not get asked. So case
(48:12):
in point, I will not be asked to be on
the season, sadly, but I love that Susan and Kathy
are there for a pillow you too. Susan and Kathy
make the world better, they do. What else happened? Oh yes,
he did have a ring at the end. That doesn't
always mean that there's an engagement, But he.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
Also says I think I think something to the effect
of I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
I just hope she is or something.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
So I'm interested about that, you know, because this could be,
this could be your Debbie thing, this could be you know,
because she's never been married. But yeah, and then there's
another scene where he's talking to where he's talking to
Jesse bless you.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
Where's another scene where.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
He's talking to Jessie and he says she left, She's gone,
and Jesse goes, but I know she's still on the property, right,
so interested to find out what that's all about.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
That's gonna be too because you know, that's what happened
with Joan during Gary season where she had to go
home because her daughter had just had a baby and
she needed her. I wonder if it's something like that,
like a family emergency or Colton season.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
What happened during Colton season is when the girl he
ended up.
Speaker 1 (49:32):
With, Grassi decided Gassie decided to leave. Yes, you're right.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
To this day, she is one of my big crushes
of the whole franchise. Like I've always said that, like
I've always been.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Like she was so cute and seemed she.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
Didn't need it.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Obviously watch Yellowstone, Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
Her sister is my favorite part of that. And I
love The oil Man. She's now on The oil Man
with Billy Bob Dorton.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Yeah man, sorry, The oil Manchow.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Yeah with Billy Bob. He's amazing. I love that show.
And I met her in Veil randomly, and I was
I had to go up and say hi, because I you.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Know, well the connections there too.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Well you're there and I'm a huge fan.
Speaker 2 (50:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
So yes, the fence. I remember the fence. I will say.
I've said it before. Ryan was the one to jump
the fence first. He wasn't the one to actually jump
the fence on camera, but he left on the final
Rose ceremony day and they couldn't find him, so he escaped. Yes,
(50:44):
And I'm like everyone's getting all like up in arms
about Colton jumping the fence and like Ryan did that
a long time ago.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
And he probably did it with all due respect.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
He probably did it without even touching a single spoke
on that fence.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
No, No, Colton is an athlete too, but yeah, Ryan's
any level. Okay, So do you think that he'll get engaged.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
I think he will propose.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
The way the show went last night had me kind
of wondering, you know how this ends.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Like, I think he will propose. I truly do, And
I think.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
I hope that whoever he proposes to says yes, because
I feel like Mel's different than Gary, and I don't
mean that in a negative way towards that guy. I
just feel like, you know, you you kind of see
the carnage from a season that that doesn't work out right,
and so you realize, Okay, I'm not doing anything if
(51:36):
I don't really feel it right, because clearly they went
through some stuff and it was public and wow, it's ugly, right,
And it is ugly. I mean, it's terrible when anyone
gets divorced, but especially when it's televised and you know
it happens in a month. It's like, what the hell
you guys didn't know that leading into it. But I
feel like that the fact that he's younger, you know,
he's only sixty six, which I think is I mean,
(51:57):
that's only twelve years older than me. So I don't
feel like that's that isn't that crazy? I don't feel
like that it's crazy. So and I feel like a
lot of these women have genuinely surprised him and and
frankly surprised me. I mean watching the show, like the
one thing I have said to you about this before,
and I love this. No stunt casting they have, they
are age appropriate cast, and it's so it really is
(52:19):
genuinely people who get each other and they're not just
going for the hot young thing, right, and I think
that that's going to be something that will be very interesting.
Geographic location plays a big part of this, which we
have learned from watching as people are older and along
in the in their in their lives, so that I
think will factor into it. But I think also probably
the realization that hey, we don't have to get married.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
It's not like, so, why don't.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
We just engaged be engaged for the rest of our
lives and that's all we need to do.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
You know?
Speaker 1 (52:48):
And I think so too. I think there will be
an engagement. And you made me think of something you said,
you know what happened after Gary season. That's assuming that
he watched the show and he knows what happened during Gears.
I don't know if you watch the show. I haven't heard,
Like I know, he's done some press leading up that's
(53:08):
kind of what got him in trouble. But yeah, I
would love to know if he watched the first Golden
Bachelor and what he thought and if he learned anything
from it going into his filming. Oh, yes, that's true.
Joan and Chalk they are living separately, but they but
they do. They do have an agreement. I think of
(53:29):
sorts where they spend a lot of time at each
other's houses. So it's not like way to go. They
were made to move, you know, like it's the way
to go.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
I think at that stage in the game, why would
you do anything else? Like, you know, Joan and I even.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Talked about it when we were together at an event
one time, and I had said, and and Chalk and
I have talked about it too.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Afterwards. I was like, is there any rush?
Speaker 3 (53:52):
He's like, what's the rush? We're having a great time.
We love each other's company, we love each other's family.
I love visiting her, she loves visiting me.
Speaker 2 (53:58):
It's great.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
And it's like, at that age, why would you push
the envelope? Like you got this perfect thing going. Neither
one of you want to be away from your kids
or your grandkids. Yeah, why make one person suffer? It
just doesn't make sense, you know, totally.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
I hope they go to Jon and Chalk route. And
I hope that because I feel like Joan Chok should
be considered a major success from the franchise because they
are very in love. Like when you're with them, it's
it's the real deal. That's that's like being with you
and Ryan. It's the same thing. It's like you see
that same type of chemistry, very similar personality makeups. By
(54:33):
the way, I mean, Chock's not as affable as Ryan
in my mind, because I know Ryan's so much better.
But it's like Joan's the one out there, the cute,
bubbly blonde and just talking away. And then you know
Ryan and chalk Aer in the background with Canyon, you know,
to so funny.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
For everybody and everyone in this place. Okay, well this
was fun. I'm really excited. I hope you all are watching.
I know you don't have to watch because we do this.
We to be doing this recap or Ashley and Ben
will be doing the recap. But it's going to be
a great season. Yes, Wednesday Night's on ABC.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
I think it's a big comeback. Don't call it a comeback.
We've been here for years, but it could be a
big comeback season.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
I like literally started doing the dance.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Don't call it a comeback.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
Okay, Christ always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you guys
for listening to watching us. We appreciate you all and
make sure you keep following almost famous.
Speaker 1 (55:27):
Don't chuck everybody,
