Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
This is almost In this podcast, we have one of
my favorites and Bachelor Nations, Susie here with us. Susie,
I just listened to your podcast and I was telling
you this about scamming. For all the listeners out there
of the Almost Famous podcast, I think they should listen
to your podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
And give it a try.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Thank you, and scamming was one that I listened to
because I have been attempted.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Bob, I don't know if you feel this way. I
think I get.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I think people attempt to scam me once a day.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Wait, so what do we talking?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
How do you mean scam like emails or phone calls?
So I have two and and Susie, we're going to
dive into you.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I want to hear. No, I want to hear your
scam story because we didn't get to finish it.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
There's a whole.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Podcast on this with an expert. It's incredible. You should
listen to it.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
But there was one moment where Capital One called me.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I went through the whole thing. They asked me a
bunch of questions. All of a sudden, I realized it
wasn't capital one. I already given them a bunch of
information and it scared me. The second was last week
my business generous almost got scammed for close to fifty
thousand dollars. Wow, crazy, crazy, And luckily we have some
checks and balances in place where our accountant can't write

(01:15):
the check and if it's over a certain amount. And
all of a sudden, I said, I didn't just sign
up for leadership training for fifty grand I don't know
where this is coming from.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
And so I know so many so I have so
many friends. I'll just use a couple real quick. The
Kentucky Derby, for example, Yeah, which I go to every
year for the last twenty years, which I'm so proud
to be associated with it. I started bringing some friends
into it and two of them got scammed where they
were told, oh, you need to pay right now in full.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
And it was called it was.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
A thing called ghosting, where they ghost an email that
you've already been oh my god, I'm getting in and
you think you're responding to the same person, but it's
a different person. That person doesn't see any of that email.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
They sent the check, they.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Sent the cash twenty thousand dollars, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
And they're like, we never got that money.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Can you imagine being seventy plus years old and not
familiar with this new world.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
It breaks my heart, honestly so hard.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So Susie, tell everybody as we start out here about
your podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Obviously we talked about.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
It what three months ago on this show as it
was getting launched.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
But it's launched.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
You have some great episodes, a new one with Wells
Adams out there that's really funny and really lighthearted and
it's Wells and it's weird shock Well.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, it's super deep and.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Heavy and really emotional.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, Susie, tell everybody out there listening where they can
kind of listen to your latest project.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
So you can listen anywhere you listen to podcasts. It's
called Live Laugh Lies. And we do really fun graphics
as well, so we do video, but then we also
like to overlay fun stuff on the screen, so if
you like to watch, you can watch on YouTube and
it's it's a bit more fun. But yeah, we do
some serious topics, like we have people on that have
the most bizarre stories of like one woman married a

(03:07):
guy who lied about everything including his social security number,
including his bank account numbers, like everything like scammed her
they were fully married, And then we had experts on
that talked about people that were scammed. I was scammed recently,
so that's kind of what piqued my interest with having
her on, And we talked about safety online and like
how to protect yourself. And then yeah, we do an

(03:30):
episode once a month called Tell Me Lies, which is
like more lighthearted, so it's like less intense, less like
cheating scandals, cults, and more like let's have fun and
like shoot this shit.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Who would be a better cult leader, Bob or myself?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Oh gosh, I.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Think you would be because I and I could give
a reason why I want Susie to answer who follow
I rather follow?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yeah? I followed Ben.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Okay, Okay, here's the deal. I think you might. You
both bring a lot to the table when it comes
to a cult. Let me start with your Yeah, I
think that, Like I don't know, this is so hard
to say, because I actually could see you like maybe

(04:16):
accidentally starting a cult. You are very like charismatic and
like I feel like people like I could hear anything
you say right now and I would believe exactly what
you're saying.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, that's not a company, and I don't know that, ye,
like I don't know that.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
That's like good. But then I could see you maybe
like intentionally yea intentionally being like let me let me
do Yeah, like I could see you and Wells being
let's get some white linen pants and like start a
cult where I feel like.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
With you that.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
You both bring a lot to the give both Like
I think I I think you could wake up one
morning and have now four million followers in a scrim
and be like, I don't know how, but let's guide
them in a direct let's go this way, and Wells
and I'd be like, you know what, we plan this,
but let's get four million this we know exactly what
we did.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah that's probably true.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah, true.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
And there's beauty in both of that, you know what
I mean, Like I see it and I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
In both of you guys, and I can see Susie
in both of those. You're so sweet. You guys have
seen a movie Beekeeper.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
No, Oh my gosh, So what you were just saying
about scamming just resonated with me, only because my mom's
seventy eight. She got early on side dementia, right, and
we're we're doing all these things we can help take
care of it. I go to our house the other
day and her computer is talking to her. Oh my gosh,
I'm like, what your computer?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Who's talking? And the computer saying, you.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Know, oh, you have downloaded the trojan virus?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Go to this and call this number. And I'm like,
that's really weird. So I dial up on my phone.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
I'm like, what's that over to call for Microsoft if
you have a virus? And it wasn't the same number
that was on the screen, but it looked exactly the same.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
And there's a movie called.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Beekeeper with Jason Statham and it's crazy and if you
watch on a plane, because it was a plain movie
for me, you'll probably cry, which I always do. And
it was basically about someone who got taken advantage of
by a scam like this where they hack into all
your stuff.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
I mean you should, I mean, is that what we're
talking about right now? Is that? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (06:25):
It was like it was insane to because I hadn't
even thought about it until this just happened with my
mom and then this movie, so I think that's it's
a real thing like it can actually really happen, and
it's kind of Baniana's.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
It's becoming really uh, they're getting really good at it.
It's becoming really prevalent. And that's only not like all
of what we talk about on the podcast, but that's
been Mary Bonnet from selling Sunset. She had someone hack
into her computer fully watching her. They got into her,
ring cameras in her house, watching her in her living room,
through her whole house, sending her supplemental messages on her computer.

(06:55):
Everyone thought she was like going crazy because nobody else
could see the messages and he would like the lea
them literally like taunted her for nine months and then
they like the FBI got involved, Like it is crazy
how good people are getting at scams and spying.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
That That is a great segue to the question we
asked earlier, which is when it comes to baby monitors.
Oh yeah, no Wi Fi, that's what my wife is
saying that She said, so, my my.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Sister's best friend had a horrible Wi Fi experience where
every night she'd come in to check on her son,
who's now ten, and he would go, you know, mommy,
so and so said that I should you know, stay
awake and I shouldn't go to bed right now, and
she's like whatever. This happened every night for like four
nights in a row till finally my sister's friend was like,

(07:44):
I'm gonna lay on the floor in his room, yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
When I put him asleep and just see what I'm missing.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
And sure enough, a dude comes on the monitor voice,
a dude's voice, you can't see him, and he's like,
you don't need to go to bed. You should tell
you should start screaming right now that you don't want
to go to And it was a guy who had
hacked into their Wi Fi thing. So yeah, I'm a
no Wi Fi guy when it comes to monitors myself,
because it's just not the technology.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
A thing I didn't know. It's a thing I didn't know.
There was weirdos out there that would even try this.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Who has time to go talk to a baby?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Can't we do something cooler?

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Can't we hack like some bad guy in another country
that needs to be taken down?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Yeah? So stupid?

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah all right, Well this is a great podcast though, Susie.
You're crushing it. And since the launch that we talked
about on the almost in his podcast. It's been not
only entertaining, it's been uh comedy. It's been a mix
of comedy and real life experience and emotion. And it's awesome.
You're doing a great job. Thank you, So you should
know that manybody should listen to it. Bob has a

(08:46):
game for you though. Okay about the baby shower.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Now, guys, this is going to be interesting because it's
called guess who, all, right, mommy or daddy? And I
know I know some of these answers into I actually
really do, and I think that if life experience will
serve me on this, I will tell you that I
know the right answers to these.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
But I'm gonna let you guys go through this.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Okay, Okay, It's called guess who mommy or daddy? Right,
So it's it's a simple answer. You'll say mommy or daddy, okay,
and you will say mommy or daddy. I'm going to
give you guys a little time frame on this because
I think that it's going to change over time, especially
this first one. So if you had to take a
survey as to who will change more diapers would be

(09:33):
mommy or daddy.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
So, Susie, I'm gonna go to you first.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Oh, answer, and I think Mommy.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Okay, Mommy, All right, now, I'm gonna give you guys
a little sub context here. In the first six months,
mom will change more diapers.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Susie, I'm going to say, Mommy.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Mommy, daddy.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Way, I promise you really, here's why, Mommy. Well, okay,
you know what, in my personal experience, I will say mommy,
or I'll say daddy, here's why.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
And uh.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
In that first six months, mommy is in charge of
giving life to this kid. Preach if you're breastfeeding or
if you're not.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
So daddy should just step up.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Daddy's job is to be like, oh, the kid should
himself my.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Time to shine? Agree. I love that take, so get involved.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
And if it's the answer is not daddy, I might
come to Denver and smack you in the face. Period.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I love you. I never want to smack you.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
But the truth be told, the answer better be daddy.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
That first, is this like what we think should be.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
No, it's the real stuff. But I'm ok.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
For some reason it's triggering me and I'm getting PTSD.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
No, honestly, we love a good trigger around here.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Okay, who will be more patient mommy or daddy.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Susie.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Oh, I feel like it depends, but I feel like mommy.
I feel like mommy.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I think in our relationship Daddy, Okay, Yeah, I think
Jessica will be so on.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I think you are. Jessica will be so on top
of so much.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yes, that like that, Like I will be the one
that's a little bit more calm because she's going to
be so on top.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
You almost have to be the com have to be
the calm one.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, even though I might not feel it internally, at
least externally to the family, I'll need to pull that
role because she has no other option but to be
on it.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
Well, and I'm gonna tell you you have never slept
less in your life. Yeah, when we were the bachelor
guys and we would we would like be bitching about
the fact that, oh we were we had to go
to Vegas tonight and then we came back and we
had to go on a hotter balloon ride at five
am with three other girls. That stuff seemed challenging at
the time. Yeah, even though people at home right now
are going what makes sense, But when you have a

(11:58):
child and you haven't slept and your kids crying, and
you're changing diapers and everything else.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
You've never slept last, and so to be patient in.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
These moments, it's it's a gift from God to have
that patience. Who wants the most kids, Mommy or daddy
with you a specifically?

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Yeah, Oh I don't know. I'm going to guess you.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Okay, I want so many more? Really, Yeah, pregnancy is
going way too easy for that.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Listens it up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
She's like, this wasn't as bad as I thought it
could be.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Been. You want to impregnate me five times?

Speaker 5 (12:34):
I'm like, so Canyon and I are our first child
was so difficult for Kanyon, like the the actual you
know child, uh.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Carrying the pregnancy ye yourself.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
She it wasn't morning sickness.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
It was morning. It was sickness all the time.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yes, and people get that.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
It's literally old.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
And so to have a second child was was was
it was?

Speaker 3 (12:56):
It was It was God's grace. We wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
I mean, it was a happy accident. She was done.
So I was pretty happy about that. Wow, all right, now,
who will spoil the baby the most? I think I
know this answer, Mommy or daddy?

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Maybe Daddy. I don't know. It's so it's so hard
to say.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
You guys are such a sweet mix of kindness.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
You guys are both so sweet.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Different level of spoiling though.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Yeah, it's a baby girl, and I know she's gonna
have me wrapped around her face. However, Jessica has big plans,
like when it comes to what this baby girl is
going to experience, Okay, parties and and all these things. Yeah,
I think it's going I honestly think this, and this
is unfair.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
It would be a fifty to fifty.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I think she'll spoil her more because my parents were
very intentional because I was an only child to say
I'm not going to spoil.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Ben oh okay.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
And I think I have that implemented in me, of like,
let's not give her more than what like.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Life is expected.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Yeah, so that she doesn't get the wrong idea here
and justices be like, no, she'll get everything.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
It's gonna get the role. Yeah, yeah, I love that.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
All right, guys.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Last question, Okay, the movie Clueless notwithstanding right, no one
wants to be the fun mom played by Amy Poehler,
Who will be the fun parent?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Who will be the fun one? Is it gonna be jazz?
Is it gonna be beat?

Speaker 5 (14:22):
I already know the answer in my family, and I'll
give you a little I'll give you some insight while
you guys work on this answer. Canyon is definitely the
fun parent. I am the one who I come home
from work it's like daddy here he is. I'm like,
I don't want to be this guy, but you're kind
of forced into the role. And Kanyon is the one
who's like she's home all day, so she's also the
one is like, you.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Know, yeah, this stay mom my moment and they're like
jamming and I walk in.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
I'm like, why is this allowed here? I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
I just adopt the role. So what do you think
Who's gonna be the fun one?

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Oh my gosh, this is I feel like this goes
similar with like the spoil question. I think it depends
so hard to answer. I feel like, because ess, obviously
it's a woman, just a girl, and to have a
little girl like she's gonna know the vibes, princess vibes.
But then I also think sometimes like this was kind

(15:12):
of the dynamic in my family. My mom was definitely
the caregiver, and so my dad had the ability to
come home and be like let's rock, like let's have
fun and rustle and like, yeah, so like the dynamic
in my family and my mom had to like lay
the law a little bit harder because my dad was
more of like the breadwinner and came home and was
like that was a dynamic. But I don't know, maybe, jess.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
I think it's going to depend on age.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Jessica is gonna thrive from birth till like honestly, like
she's gonna thrive forever, but she's really gonna rock until
like eight, and then I think I'm gonna crush it
middle age, like middle age parenting like eight to like
into high school. Because I can take I can take

(16:01):
some gritty information and process it and be like I've
been there. Yeah, Jessica hasn't been there. My wife is
the purest soul of all she is.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
She is.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
She's done so well keeping like her values and her
morals in mind, where like maybe I didn't as much,
and I think I can consume information and be like
I've been there.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I get it. I don't like to hear this from you,
young lady, but hurts me. But Daddy can handle it.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
But I can handle it and let's talk this through.
And so I think it's going to change. I think
I'm gonna be great. I think Jessica's gonna be great
at both stages. But we're going to switch off. And
I think when when my baby girl comes home and
she's like, this guy broke my heart, I think I'll
be the one she's like, let me talk to dad.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
You're gonna kill that guy though. Yeah, oh, in my back,
I could be a dad. I could be a dad
to a girl. I would want to literally kill every dy. Yeah,
it's tough for me to think about right now.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I just think that there's a moment where I'll sit
Have you guys seen Shrinking yet?

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Yes? I love that Shrinking a great show on TV. Yeah,
and he crushes it as a teenage dad.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
He makes so many mistakes hysterical.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
But it's like that's he's such a great actor because
he is so hysterical, and it's.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Like, no, I get it.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Like he's trying and his daughter loves him and she's
like she wants him around, and but yeah, I think
that girl is going to be.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Very love Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Can I ask one more question that's on the list here?
It's not the list. But I so we've not talked
about the name yet. Correct, we're keeping that quiet kind
of quiet.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
So but have you guys decided on one yet? Yes?
So may I ask.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Because this does matter, by the way, it really does.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
Who chose it?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
You?

Speaker 5 (17:51):
Were you the guy that chose the name? Or was
she the one that chose the name? And do you
think it matters? Because I'm gonna tell you what it does.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
She chose the name, but she chose it knowing it's
a name i'd be behind.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Okay, So Stubby Stebbie Stebbie.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Oh Susan, well, I would it not be?

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I mean, honest, Scott, you love Susie, Susie, I mean
you love your sugarman Sugarman Higgins. I love it. That's amazing, Buddy,
I love this.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Susie.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Thank you, Thank you for.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Having men of the podcast and what anything else that
you're out up to that you'd love people to tune into.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
No, Honestly, the podcast is where I would love to
see the support live laugh lies on YouTube. I'm doing
vlogging right now. I'm on YouTube vlogging a lot, just
trying to like build my YouTube community. So that's been fun.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
But the podcast is so weird that I only know
where vlogging is.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
It's not weird.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
I feel like I have It's like an indigestion for me.
Vlogging like I should take a pill for that.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Watch it.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
It's fun. It's like right now, I'm doing it in
December to like like it's called vlog miss so like Christmas,
so like I'm posting a vlog a day, so if
y'all want to see what I'm up to. Yeah, it's
like a lot of words, it is, yeah, but it's fun.
It's fun. So yeah, if you want to check it out,
you could pop a pill to get through it if
you need.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
I love it. Yeah, Almost Fus podcast. I've Been Been,
I've Been Bob and She's been Sizy.
