Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Samos podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
It's Ashley and Ben and we are here today interviewing
one of our favorites from gen season and from Paradise,
even though he wasn't on it nearly enough.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Hakeem Moulten, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Damn girl, you had to say if he wasn't on
there nearly as well. We know that girl. Way to
rub some salt in the wound. We know I was
booted night one.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Gosh, Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I was hoping that they would figure out some way
to keep you longer because we needed your facial expressions
throughout the entire season.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
You're hilarious. Honestly, I just needed some of Ben's game
and then ought to be good. Honestly, if I had
his juice and then I brought that on the beach
with me, we're good. I'll probably be having a ring
on my finger right now.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Yeah, because it worked out so well for me, buddy, Well.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
That's what brings me to.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
One of my first questions is you mentioned my ring
off camera, and I was like, does he know that
that's like a bachelor ring, like that's a Neil Layne
Bachelor engagement ring.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
And then you said that Ben has games.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
So I'm assuming that you have been a fan of
the show for a while.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I not for a while. I'm gonna be honest. I'm
gonna be very very honest. I haven't watched it since
when I was on the Bachelorette. I didn't see a
season prior to that, right, solely, Yeah, yeah, but when
I got off of her season, I literally hyper binged
up until Matt James's season Bachelororette.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
So did you study up on Bachelor history?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
There's Bachelor history?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Do you know that you don't need to know who
we are?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
But you are?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
You are an icon to me.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
You're so funny. But I mean, honestly, I'm going off
of just how good looking you both are. I mean,
Ben's obviously very good looking. He's all American white dude.
And then we got you just as well. So like
I figure, like some we had some big deals. I personally,
I'm I'm like I said, I obviously knew I was
going on somewhere that was a big deal because.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
He was going on some Bachelor related podcast.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
No, no, it's not even like that it's not even
like that.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah, it is a big deal, a game. I have
to ask you this before we dive into this whole thing.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
When you wake up in the morning, what do you
do to be you? Because you are one of those
people that brings joy. You are drinking an energy drink,
which makes me a little nervous that you're like really
peaking right now and at some point you're going to
crash during this show. But no, what's your routine? Like,
why do you why do you act the way you act?

(02:46):
Because it is awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Oh, I appreciate that. First of that's that's so much love.
Appreciate you, Ben. Honestly, it hasn't always been like this
all my life. You know, I just try to choose
positivity and happiness. So I'm if I'm sleeping, I'm waking
up around seven thirty eight o'clock am getting out boom.
You know, probably scroll on Instagram just like any other
normal unit in individual, brush my teeth, hop in the shower,

(03:13):
have some coffee, and uh, probably do everything that the
normal human being does. Just watch first take and all
those good things. Honestly, truthfully, it just comes from my
experience in life and everything I've seen and gone through
that you realize life is so short and everybody goes
through things. You know, your shit don't stank. You shit
does stank, you know what I mean. So it's just

(03:34):
like I kind of just try to be just be real,
just kind of just be myself in a sense, if
that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, you're even wearing a hat right now that says happy.
You are the opposite.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Of Vanilla to me.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
You are werol.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
You've got so much going on.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
How could Ricky, who honestly I forgot even existed, could
never forget about a Hiquem's existence, call you Vanilla in
the first episode.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
You know, Ricky's actually, I promise you he's not as
bad as I made it seem like on camera. Ricky's
not a bad dude. I don't have anything bad to
say about him. But I don't know why he called
me vanilla truthfully, because I'm your homie regardless. I mean,
I would never call you vanilla because even if you
had Vanilla answers, I'm gonna tell you off camera one

(04:21):
on one, like yo, like this is what I would do,
like blah blah blah blah. But at the end, of
the day. I think everyone dustings their own way, and
I need to be better with my emotions and how
I react to certain stuff like that, because it was
a time and place for me to talk with him
about that. But yeah, the whole Vanilla situation, I was
kind of thrown off to a little bit. I'm like, bro,
what's up? Like what you mean? Doh? Like we're here

(04:43):
for the same thing, Like we were talking before the season,
like we both want to get married all this, man,
what's going on? You know? So that's all. I was
thrown off a little bit. But Ricky's a great guy.
Rick Ricky's a great guy. Yeah, I don't have anything
much to any bad things to say about him.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Have you guys talked since.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
No, he's reached out. I've just chosen not to reach
back out, just because I feel like I want to
be real and not hold resentment towards him. If I
was to like just pretend to be friends and stuff,
and I don't want to do that because again, I know,
Ricky's a good dude, but like, honestly, I'm a very
emotional guy, and I hope things to my chest and

(05:20):
I take things really to heart, and I ain't gonna
lie to you. I took that very much to heart. He's,
like I said, he's a great dude. We talked briefly. Briefly,
it wasn't I don't but yeah, we didn't. Really we didn't. Really,
we haven't really talked now, we haven't talked. He's reached
out to him, reached out to me, but I haven't.

(05:42):
I haven't responded yet.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
So if it makes you feel better, I was called
vanilla too. You and I both have the same things
said to us. And you know what, after a few years,
like I would rather be that guy than I would
the dude causing chaos. You kind of fall into it,
you know, it works out over time.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
No, for sure, absolutely, No, I I agree with you.
I agree with you. It's just like when you're coming
from a person that knows you and just like damn, bro,
like you know what I mean, it's just kind of
like damn, Like that's how you really like? Those are
my answers, those are my real life examples of myself.
So I was kind of like a little bit thrown off,
a little hurt. So that's why I was that. I
don't think I am, you know, so reaching out to

(06:22):
me showing me love. They were like, you're not van
You're not. I was like, shout out them, will.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
Be one of those people too. You're not Vanilla, man,
You're You're great. You came on here, you complimented Ashley,
you lit her up. She was you know, she's tired,
she's a mama two. She just sits down here today.
And as soon as you jumped on, she lit up
and you could tell she was ready to do this.
And so that is not of Vanella characteristic. That is
one was bringing energy. Yes, I feel like I'm going

(06:53):
to walk down like a weird thing.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
As well.

Speaker 6 (06:58):
So I just you want to do it. Sounds you
won't do it. You won't do it, you won't do it.
I'm on Moca coffee right now, the chocolate on the
automuply right now.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
I will say you are a lot more spicy than
anything Vanilla, and uh, I wish you would have been
around longer, honestly. I mean as the season was announced,
I think we got like a spoiler about the cast
that was going to be there. We saw your picture
and we were fired up, and I think a lot
of people really fired up. I remember seeing an Instagram

(07:30):
post of the spoiler. In the comments, a lot of
people were very excited to watch you on the beach
because they didn't feel like they got enough of you
even during gen season. I think they wanted to see
more of you.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
I don't really know how to phrase this, but I
think you're gonna know what I'm asking. Yeah, why weren't
you there longer? Like what I mean, we said last
week on the show that the way the format of
this show this season has been, people seem to come
and go too quickly for us. They seem to be
there and leave, and sometimes there's not even an opportunity

(08:03):
to connect because everybody's already pretty much matched up. So
you're there causing chaos. And if you're somebody like you
who doesn't like to step on toads, but you're there
to find love, it's hard for you to meet anybody.
So I guess if you could just expound on why
were you only there for such a short period of
time outside of the obvious, which is, hey, you didn't
meet somebody?

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Yeah, truthfully, I just don't think one. I'm gonna be
very very honest with you. I'm very like upfront and
like I'm very super like I'm bold, and I'm like,
I get straight to the point, you know, Like, I
guess I think I took it way too serious when
I was talking to the women. In my opinion, maybe
I took it too serious in a sense because I

(08:44):
was trying to figure out, like like we got three
weeks and three weeks, I'm skipping my family meeting her
and all that, and I'm like, yo, I gotta figure
out if I can actually see myself go down to
the altar with her. Maybe I took that too much
into my head instead of actually being in the moment
and enjoying the moment when I was there, to be
frankly honest with you, But also I think the girls

(09:06):
have better matches there too. You know, I was going,
I really's gorgeous. But like her and Jeremy have a
sensational connection. They share a gum, you know what I mean, Like,
no way I would be able to do something like
that would hurt you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yo, that was weird.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I know that we did a lot like grosser things
as humans, like romantically.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
But like like what that was.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Just like why did that? Guess? Why did that get me?
Like just sharing gum.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Like it's like, what's the difference between sharing gum and
like just putting your tongue in somebody's mouth?

Speaker 5 (09:37):
Oh for really right? But like I didn't love it
because I think everything else has a benefit. I think
the way we look at this is like other things
that you're speaking of have like a personal benefit. There's
a I don't think sharing gum has any personal benefit.
There's no better feeling, there's no release, relaxation, there's no
like spice. It's just like you're just doing it to

(09:58):
do it.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
But for instance, you know, like I feel like everybody
has their things they do with their person. So I
thought that was kind of like I wouldn't share my
gum like that, especially stretching out that long stretched yeah. Stress,
But it was cute and it met something between them,
and I want that. I want that non verbal maybe
or something that's like maybe itchy to everybody else, but

(10:20):
it's something that's just with us and it's us against
the world. Like that's that's dope, you don't think.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
So well, No, that's a good point.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Actually, the two of them seem like very sexually charged
between each other, and I want to know see normally
like we would see that stuff with the old Paradise
and like the Boom Boom room because it's like a
shared everything was a shared space, you know, Like, are
Bailey and Jeremy like doing things and we don't even
know because of these private bedrooms.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Shit, if they were we encouraging it have fun, I
don't know, but if they are, let it be great.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Well, could you give us an insight in that, because
we haven't quite seen something like that play out the
way Paradise is structured at this resort, do you have
more access to privacy than maybe at the old spot.
Could you sneak away and go to one of your
private rooms and nobody would ever know?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Well, there's cameras in our room, so it would absolutely no. Yeah,
there's there's cameras in our rooms. So I don't know
the layout of the last like how would they were
like sleeping and so far, all I know is there
were there wasn't AC, So like that was the big thing.
We had Ac and me and me and Jonathan sorry,
we were rooming together and he likes it super cold

(11:35):
and I like it super warm. So we had a yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
That might be the weirdest thing. About you.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
I like it super warm too. What's your favorite room teture? Actually, yeah,
I like it seventy two in the house.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Oh oh girl, I have it like at seventy eight.
Seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Okay, that's interesting.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
I will tell you I if I was living alone,
I would probably go to seventy four, and I won't lie.
Like in grad school, my friends would come over to
my apartment and I would have it set in the
winter in Syracuse to like seventy eight. But like you're
telling us that like in the yeah, because I was
leving alone and it was a polar tundra. You have

(12:16):
your summer temperature at seventy eight in the house.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Let me ask you a question if you have your
house at like seventy or let me ask you, Ben,
Where's what temperature is your place at?

Speaker 5 (12:25):
Ideally sixty eight sixty nine?

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Can you feel comfortable walking around without socks, no shirt,
just your boxers or even the shorts in the house
at sixty nine?

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Thank you, Hike. This is what I say.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'm like, I just want to wear a little tank
topic a sports bra with little short shorts.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
And no socks.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I have to bundle see like this is my house
right now, the upstairs is at the seventy.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Because you know, people as exciting is.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
This conversation you're reminding me of like my eighty five
year old grandmother who you walk into her little like
condo suite and it's ninety degrees in there and you
can't breathe because it's so hot. I've never heard of this.
This is a new thing for me. I will say this, Akim.

(13:12):
There's many reasons why you are going to be a
great husband. One day, you liking it warm in your
house is another additional reason why you're going to be
a great husband. Because it is a battle from the
start as newlyweds to try to figure out how each
person can be happy when one is burning up and

(13:33):
the other one is always cold. So just remember, you're
gonna be a great husband. You're gonna keep You're gonna
keep your girl warm, and we're excited about that. For you.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
I appreciate that. I appreciate that. I feel like there's
a subtle like, so you have feminine quality, so you.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
Know, there's none of that. I was just saying, you're
going to be a great husband, Hakim, Ikim.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
I want to know who you went there for who
was on your dream list?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Oh my god, that's a great question. How do I say, Okay,
there's people that's on there, but I'm like, they're with
like a friend of mine. So it's like I just
want to make sure, like as not now. But beforehand,
like Parisa was like number one, I was like, I
want to meet her so bad. I've seen her at
like events and I've like said hi to her. I
followed her, but I specifically didn't reach out to her

(14:32):
because I wanted to like get the raw Parisa, like
the you know, she's in the wild. She likes to
look at those type of things, and I don't do
that stuff. I don't do that at all. Let me
tell you that, I don't camp, I don't hike, I
don't like insects. I don't like any of that stuff.
But I literally, let me tell you guys this, I

(14:52):
literally looked at wildlife in Costa Rica try to prepare
a little bit like what I would get myself into
if I was to be with Parisa. That's how much
I was locked.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
In, y'all because she loves that stuff.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, correct, But I had to prepare myself for the
you know unexpected. So I was like, okay, let me
find out what's all these things out there? Is gonna
be lizard, It's okay. And then they have these things,
so I was like, all right, they got monkeys in them,
joint saws of art that so like. But then she
wasn't down there, damn. So I was like damn. And
then I also wanted to meet Eli Joe as well.

(15:26):
I wanted to meet Eli Joe as well, and I
also wanted to meet This was a hail Mary ben
like Olivia Lewis was like I said that before, like
eight months before.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
That was a hail Mary underrated. She was. She's underrated
coming off of Paradise. I'm surprised that she wasn't on
more people's list. Maybe she was, but we liked her
in Paradise. I thought she was a great commentator.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
She's so she's amazing and she's literally gorgeous. So I
think her personality or energy is what really attracted me
to her. So that's how I really wanted to meet her,
but you know, unfortunately didn't work out that way.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
So Ali Joe, jakeem and just for our listener's sake
and for my sake, because I've never been to Paradise. Yeah,
how like, how does names even pop up on your radar?
Because she's great? Yeah, but she's not somebody that I
really even knew was on the show until she came
to Paradise. So how how was she even on your

(16:21):
radar for somebody that you'd be interested in?

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Yeah? I mean, Jojo was on Grant season, and Grant's
my best friend, so I watched his seasons and all that,
and I see her and all that, so I saw
her personality how she is as a woman and as well.
So yeah, so that's kind of how I kind.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Of So you just knew from the city, Okay, Yeah,
I didn't know if there was like a list of
potentials they send you and you kind of go through
through them and say they.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
No, no, no, no. There's this very conversational they were like, oh,
so what is your thoughts so far? Like how do
you feel about X, Y and Z? And I'm like, yo,
she's dope, Like yo, like I could see myself type
of thing.

Speaker 5 (16:55):
So yeah, okay, that makes more sense.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
And I also met Jojo at I've met her out
before as well. She's she's super she's super good people,
super super good people.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Did you just said that you're like best friends the Grant?

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Yeah, that's that is that is my brother from another mother.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
So what happened between him and Juliana?

Speaker 5 (17:16):
Question? Whoa even like he's into that? Like, how's he doing?
By the way, what happened? She just says, let's go
for it.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
I unfortunately, actually, even though I rock with you heavy,
I can't speak with I can't speak. I can't speak
on another man's relationship, you know what I mean? I can't.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
I don't know how's Grant doing? Can you at least
tell us that?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Yeah, I can tell you how he's doing. He's doing phenomenal,
Like he has some content that he's going to be doing,
like a content series that he was telling me about.
He's also with the same management as well as me.
He's going to be at San Diego's for a week
with me. I'm walking on San Diego from week. He's
doing well. He's doing better.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
To see you working out in a video or something,
you're jacked like you you work out hard.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Dude, You don't know how much that means coming from you.
Ben Higgins telling.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Me, Now, I saw video and I saw the video
and I think it was like a like not it
was like a TikTok that some somebody else had posted
of a video they'd seen you working out. Yeah, and
they were like saying, how like incredible it was. And
I was like, dang, dude, like you you you push
it hard.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
I appreciate that. I appreciate that. I don't know if
you really mean that. I don't know if you really
saw Instagram video me working out, but I'm I'm I'm
a I'm going. I'm going to the benefit of the gun.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
It's been a while. Maybe I was just having dreams
about you and it popped in my dream. Either way,
you're going to be walking. I gotta get to the gym.
I gotta go. Uh so you're walking in swim week.
That's a big announcement.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Yeah, and there's other people there. I think as well.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Good for you. Hey, back to Paradise. You left and
they announced that money was going to be a component
in this season of Paradise. We have mixed thoughts on
it here at the Almost Famous podcast. Honestly, we've kind
of come to the consensus that we just don't like it.
It distracts from the love. Ashley is maybe a little
less on this.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
We're getting to know more, though, Ben, We're getting to
know more because you know, at the end of last
week's episode. In the teaser, Jesse says that, like, you're
gonna compete in couples challenges to see how strong you
are together, and then it seems like the strongest couple
determined by these challenges will be winning the money together.
So it's not as if like love or money.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Yeah, what he's fair, Ashley was out last week.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Come on, there's a lot of lot more contexts there now.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
But it would that have changed your strategy at all
if you knew that money was going to be a
component going into it.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Honestly, I have no clue because I'm still confused on
the money component, Like what the heck is going on?

Speaker 5 (20:03):
And that's what I think.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
We're still supposed to be a little confused, but I
think we have a little bit of a clear picture.
I think that what seems completely different is that we
are always getting teases towards engagements, but we're not getting
any teases to an engagement. There's no rings in the teasers.
There's just the pot of money. So maybe instead of

(20:25):
a ring, you guys are splitting money and they're like,
you can get your own Neil Lane with this money.
Or are they just trying not to push engagements because
they're a little concerned that engagements haven't been working lately.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Let me if you guys have been in the Bachelor
Bachelor franchise for a minute, right, like.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
You guys are old, yeah years?

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Let me ask you this, if y'all confused, imagine a
person that just joined last year. How confused I am
with all this? Because what is going on? Are we
doing the challenge? Here are we doing? Are we doing
too hot to handle? Here are we doing?

Speaker 5 (20:57):
Like?

Speaker 4 (20:58):
What the hell is going on here? Like, I'm confused
as much as you are with the money aspect. I mean,
who doesn't like money? But like I was, I just
would not have had it expected. I don't know what's
going on. Do I enjoy the money aspect of it? Yeah?
Cause my one of my guys can win that money
and then you know, we can you can have a
little yacht party and I can be there to you

(21:19):
know what I mean now? But seriously, for me, I
I'm not a huge fan of it, Ashley. I'm gonna
be honest, if I'm not a huge fan.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
I'm not saying I'm a fan.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
I'm just saying I'm glad that we're getting to know
more and it doesn't seem like you have to choose,
because that was the.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
More I know, the less I like Ashley.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Wait, dec It's like they're still talking about the strength
of a relationship. They're not talking about like choose lover money.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah. I don't Actually I don't know what I truthfully,
I was just on that season. I don't know what's
going on in a bad way or anything like that.
And I talked to people after the season too, and
I didn't really inquire about that. But I'm so confused,
like are we just doing challenges? Like are we doing
like tug of war type of things? Like like what
are we? Like, what's going on? Like you know what
I mean? Yeah, Yeah, That's why I'm like, because Spencer's

(22:06):
gonna kill it, Like Spencer's is a literally a stallion.
The dude literally does like Spartan races for a living.
You know who's gonna compete with them? No one's could
come in there preparing that we're gonna do challenging. I
have no cardiovascular shape.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Me neither, So like got it be screwed.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yeah, I would mean you're walking in the swim race, right,
so I appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
You and I are one and the same.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Wait wait wait wait why did we use that?

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Of all?

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Why we gotta you know I can't swim in a
swim race? Like, why are we saying no?

Speaker 3 (22:38):
I'm just saying that there'd be more cardiovascular I'm not
going to chocolate versus vanilla or anything.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Like that again, because I absolutely don't know how to.
I'll be watching in that moment too. That's the things.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Oh my good, thank you, you're semony. Okay, I gotta
know about Dale? Dale did arrive when you were still there?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Right? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Was Dale's ends as dramatic as it seemed on TV?
And like, did the girls really regard him as such
a prize because like in last week's episode, we're looking
at it and I'm like, see truth, col Bett and
I are so sassy towards Dale, Like my bad, sorry,
but like I could. I was very disappointed, but not

(23:20):
surprised that Kad gave him the rose. I knew that
she was gonna want to give him one more chance,
and I think she soon after giving him that rose,
really regretted that decision.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
He just seems so full of himself.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Honestly, actually he's not. I do think he maybe could
have more empathy in the way she saw something, you know,
I think he needs to maybe see it in a
different lens. But when I met him, he was a
solid dude. Honestly, he was a good dude. He's more
to himself. He's not the loudest person in the room.

(23:54):
He's observed and he's not over there trying to call
scenes or anything like that. Like he really just trying
to stay the way. That's kind of how he moves.
So you kind of just conversate with him and then
so for he's when he gets to know he's not
a bad guy at all. And yes he was when
when he arrived, all the girls were damn near. I
didn't know if their jaws were going to be picked
up from the floor or you know what I mean.

(24:16):
Everyone was like because my jaws on the floor too.
Because I was like, he was walking up and I'm like,
hold on.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
That's what I remember from me, Oh that's what I thought.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Okay, yeah, that you did react just like a girl did,
and I hold on.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
He came in I'm like, damn. I was like, Damn,
that's a handsome dude. I I ain't gonna lie. He
was six foot four or five with some green eyes,
got curly here. I'm like, all right, man, just don't
pick anybody that I'm looking to try to get to,
like you know what I mean, that's all. I don't
pick anybody that I wanted.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
To know, you know.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I think it's so cute.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Who would be Like, who's most my type on the
beach is Jonathan?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I think he's so you knew it.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
I knew it. He knew it. Jius the man. Jack
is the man. And also also just based off your
bubbly personality, I think it would be like, obviously you're
a married woman, you're fit and all that. We just
want to make sure to put that out there. Yeah, yeah,
like that's great energy. You guys would be like a
lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Like I'm already having on him that I have another
being in a second life, no goodness.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
So April gave him the rose this week. Yeah, and
we know that that was because he needed to stick around.
Do you have anything to tease with us and Jonathan?

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Yeah, Jakes is gonna do his thing and he's gonna
get to know the ladies to the best of his ability.
He's going out there. He's not just trying to match
with somebody and match with somebody. I think he's really
going in here. He's trying to find that woman. He's
gotten to know everybody, who's talked to everybody, So whoever
comes in, he's gonna try his best to figure things out.
Will it work or will it not work? I'm not sure.

(25:54):
I can't tell you that, but like he's gonna do
his thing.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
For sure, He's gonna skip becoming a fiance and go
straight to becoming a grandfather. I think is the path.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Does April have kids?

Speaker 5 (26:06):
I don't know, but does that dream she does? Hoking,
That is a question I would love to hear from you.
I mean the Golden show up, there was a lot

(26:29):
of controversy coming into the season the Goldens were going
to be there. The show teased that there would be
possibly some young Ens and some Goldens connecting. Would you
have given any Golden a chance if you were on
the beach when they walked in, not just in general,
would you have given any of a chance to possibly
have a connection.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
MAHA's answer, Yeah, you're honest.

Speaker 5 (26:53):
Answer, well, yeah, you.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
See how gorgeous Leslie is. What are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (27:04):
I'm with you, I've met her. She's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Are you kidding me? If I would give them, would
they give me a chance?

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Like what you think they would? I think it so
okay to give you a.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Prince. She's on level. She is a batty bro Like
when I brow bro, bro, Bro, I.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Wish you're still around so bad.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
I was going to say, you aren't made for TV,
You're made for reality TV. And you even had a
cameo on the The Secret Lives of.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Mormon Watch will.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Please come on that show at least so we can
all watch?

Speaker 4 (27:44):
So I will.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Oh, So he's like, oh secrets I allowed to?

Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yeah, that's what. I don't know if I'm I'm not sure.
I'm not sure. I might be. It might be a
cameo again, if they allow. It's if they if they
allow anything, because obviously I'm friends with them, like on
a real level, so it's not about like me.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
Going on, how did that happen? Elaborate on your friendship, like,
how do you have a connection to them?

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Yeah? So I think it was during it was during
AFR for the Bachelorette. They came no no, no, no, no, no,
let's back up mental law. They showed their preview and
this is I have no clue who Taylor, frank Taylor,
Frankie Paul is at this time. And I hear about
swinging and this is and that on the show, and

(28:30):
I'm like, yo, this is mad. I'm looking at him like, Yo,
this is gonna be crazy. And they kind of showed
my face throughout the whole entire trailer of that, and
then they brought them in for the AFR and then
I sat next to Demi and Brett, and then I
sat next to Jen and Zach Affleck anyhow, But yeah,

(28:50):
so I got to know Demi and Brett very well
and I became like really close friends and like they're
like my best friends. And then I met Jesse and
Jordan through to me as well. So yeah, me and
her are very close to me and Jesse. So they
kind of just invited me to this Halloween party. I'm
thinking it's just a party. We just turn it up,
you know, we're gonna turn up with some sodas, have fun,

(29:11):
and you know, so I go to the Halloween party.
Then they're filming. So I'm like, all right, so I'm
signing an appearance waiver and all that and so forth.
And then yeah, so I didn't know if I didn't
know if I was going to be able to just
with the behind the scenes type of thing, if I
was able to be on there. So I didn't expect that.
So I was kind of shocked myself when I saw
myself on there.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
So yeah, man, you get you bring me great joy.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Yeah, it's so funny.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
There's another way, and this is so good. This is
gonna be great for our video. But you're so much
more than what we're about to ask of you, but
just as a human. But Astley, I'm gonna let you
play the little game that iHeart has came up with
for us to play with a team. I'm excited to

(29:58):
watch it. She's better at this than I am. She
always does this with our guest. She kind of does
rapid Fire. But our rapid Fire is gonna look a
little different today with you, Ashley, Can you explain what
we're gonna ask of him?

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah, we're going to ask you some paradise scenarios. We're
gonna like kind of make them up, and we want
your honest facial reaction, and we're gonna have this go
up on our socials. But also you know their listeners
will also still be listening to this as well. So
imagine you walk into your hotel room and you find
two goldens making out on your bed.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
Gold's making out. Yeah, keep it going, keep it going.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Hell yeah, you're farting with a woman while hanging out
on a lounge chair, and then the biggest lizard creeps
over on top of your shoulder.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
Creeps over on top of my shoulder. Probably will jump.
I'm probably gonna I'm probably gonna jump a little bit,
probably myself. I'm gonna be honest, I'll probably remove myself
and them grab her hand, and I'm like, let's let's
chat somewhere else, you.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Know, yeah, even if it was even if it was Parisa.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Or would you be we can we can swap seats. Okay, okay,
we can swap seeds if you want to be next
to the lizard, but we wouldn't. It wouldn't be Paris
because is happily with Brian right now.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
Yeah, right, so we can. She's awful limits limits.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Clearly, she's on the show with her currently, like they're
on they're happy.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Okay, well they're on the show happy right now?

Speaker 3 (31:29):
All right. Imagine you're getting some advice in the bar
at the bar from Wells, but then he passes you
a drink and it accidentally falls all over you.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Wells, I'm like, oh man, you good. Like I'm gonna
be like kind of like, oh oh, can I get it?
Let me get a napkin, Wells. Wells, you know, Wells
might just laugh actually type shit like he might just
look at him and laugh, you know, so let me
get let me get a napkin real quick.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
You know, God, have you seen on social media that
on the golf course people are like taking a paper
clip and they're paper clipping like a fake snake to
somebody's like the back of their shorts, and when they
start walking, that snake follows them and then they start running,
the snakes coming faster at them. Have you seen that?

Speaker 4 (32:13):
No, but that sounds hilarious but also awful to the
person who's getting that done to them.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
I think you'd be the perfect person to do it too. Oh.
I think That's what I'm thinking of right now. Hakem.
We wish you the best final question for today. You're
dating life, post Paradise, post show, kind of where you
stand today. What are you looking for for anybody out
there listening? Or is it active right now?

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Yeah, I mean it's active right now. I'm not a
person that tries to force it though. I'm not a
dating apps type of dude. I'm more of a guy
who likes to meet somebody through somebody or meet him
kind of organically meeting that maybe the grocery store, library,
all those or if by me somebod at the bar,
I'll talk to them too. But I'm really looking for
somebody who would be a great mother of my kids.

(33:03):
I think that's the most important thing for me, is
that they want to be a mother and they really
want to be a good mother and take it very
very seriously. So being a good role model for kids
is something that is like a green flag and is
a big like, oh my god, she's gonna be so maternal,
She's gonna be so nurturing to her kids. That's gonna
be like, oh my god. For me. Another thing is
is like just super caring and loving. I'm a very

(33:24):
loving w type of dude. I'm emotional, so like I
like that stuff. So like, if you love me if
you think I'm looking good, like, let me know, tell
me I don't get tired of it. Like if you
want to kiss on me, you want to wear my clothes,
you want to hold me, to hold you all day,
I'll do it. Like that's just kind of person I am.
I love the love of them type of stuff. And
hopefully I just want somebody to be really family oriented.

(33:45):
Like family oriented is super important to me because I'm
super close to my family and I just started rebuilding
a relationship with my father. So if there's reasons why
that she doesn't have a certain relationship with somebody, like
it's always okay, you know what I mean. But like
I really would love to see see my woman, who's
hopefully my wife, going to be very like incorporated with
their family traditions and not just farly remove themselves as

(34:08):
they remove themselves from the home, still be very involved
and yeah, baby, very like very respectful to parents because
that's very important for me too, because I don't want
to have a friendly relationship only with my parents. I
don't curse with my parents. It's just it's a little
uncomfortable for me. It's just like we have like a
very like a. I don't know if it's culture difference,
but we have a very like fine level of respect

(34:28):
line for them, so like I kind of just want
that to always be there, Like we always have like
a loving, friendly relationship with our parents, but then we
also have like a sign of respect for them as
well too.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
So she's out there, She's out there.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
So he came, I need to ask you, though, did
you ever pick up a girl at the library?

Speaker 4 (34:47):
I did. I have picked up a girl at the
library before, but not recently, not recently.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Now is this a college thing or a college thing?

Speaker 4 (34:56):
This was a college thing, college thing, college, But I
think you find great people anywhere, honest But I just
tried to not have it in the night life scene
because we're not usually in the right frame of mind
at that time. To be frankly honest with you, I'll
speak for myself. I'm not usually in the right frame
of mind. If you see me outside, you know, so
I'm usually trying to get after it or I'm just chilling.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
That makes sense, It makes sense to me. Hakeem. We
wish you would have been there longer on Paradise, but
since you weren't, I know there's somebody out there in
this real world outside of the Bachelor in Paradise scenario.
For you, you got a cousin, I don't, and no sisters,
no cousins. I'm such a small little family I got. Uh, Hakeem,

(35:36):
thanks for coming on. We'll be talking to you again
soon hopefully.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Sounds good. Sounds good of so nice meeting you both.
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Nice meeting you too.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Byek you.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
This has been the almost famous podcast today. We had
Hakeem on from this last season of Bachelor in Paradise
and one hundred percent of fan favorite. One of those
people if you listened a few weeks ago you heard
to say some of our favorites have just come and
gone way too quickly and way too early. He's one
of those people that we the show would have benefited
from having on longer. And I think he could have
found somebody really special if he was on longer. But hey,

(36:09):
it didn't work out.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
I have just been like, hey, would you like to
take over as narrator?

Speaker 5 (36:15):
I really just wish I would have seen him hit
up leslie like I like that he seems so confident
in that I answered, so excited about it that, like
I think I really believe him when he says, no,
I would have, and I'm like, goodness, gracious, how did
the show let you go?

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Set on that opportunity to Here's to be more production involvement,
guys around.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
Yea and the Hypocrites. Is the Almost Famous Podcast are back? Hey,
