Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. It's been here
and today we're doing something a little different. We're getting
excited about a new show that we'll be recapping here
on the Almost Famous Podcast. If you're watching Perfect Match
on Netflix, this right here will be the spot to

(00:27):
get all the breakdowns, all the opinions, interviews, insights, everything
right here at the Almost Famous Podcast. We're not going
away from Bachelor Nation. We're breaking down this show because
we have two Bachelor Nation alum that have been confirmed
on this season. If you're watching, you've seen Clayton in
episode one, you also will see Rachel a little longer

(00:50):
down the line. Here, I have a special co host today,
somebody from the depths of passage. A man with integrity, honesty.
He shares his earnest opinion with truth and humor. He
cares deeply about the listener. He's usually behind the scenes,

(01:11):
but we're blessed, yes hashtag blessed today to have him
join our airwaves Easton.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Wow. What an introduction. Thank you, Ben, thank you. I'm
proud to say I'm one of the many people that
have listened to every single episode of the Almost Famous Podcast.
I am a diehard fan. I've been there since day one,
and I'm excited to join you today.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
It's absolutely ridiculous. You have been with us since day one.
In fact, a lot of our team have been around
since day one. You haven't jumped on the Almost Famous
podcast as often as I think listeners would have liked.
You are known for some fairly frequent appearances on other shows.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Correct, Yeah, I mean if you want to get into
the multiverse here scrubbing in with Beckettilly, you can hear
me on there. I sometimes my voice is heard on
Wine Down with Jana Kramer. There's a couple of other
iHeart podcasts that we produce here at the Factory that
I speak on. But I'm excited to join you today
because Perfect Match. What a riot? What a riot? Man?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Okay, we're gonna start with this again. We're breaking down
Perfect Match here on the Almost Famous Podcast because we
do want to spice the Almost Famous Podcast up a
little bit, break down some newer like reality television shows.
We're not going away from the Bachelor. We are Bachelor committed,
but we thought Perfect Match was a great entry point
for us because we do have two bacheloration contestants on

(02:41):
this reality show Easton. We're gonna break down the first
episode right here. But a few weeks ago, we had
Rachel as our co host on the Almost Famous podcast
as you remember. Yes, at that point in time, we
had watched the trailer kind of preparing for her to
be the co host and ask her a little bit
about Perfect Match. I want to hear your opinions on

(03:06):
your like on Perfect Match and its relation to Bacheloration.
It feels like two totally different like hemispheres to me.
It doesn't feel like I watch Perfect Match. And I
told Jess as much as I want to be a
guy that could be on that show, like and say
the things they do and look the way they look,
and I don't fit on this show at all.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, I mean I would like to see on that show,
but for for reasons, I'll get into my personal background.
I am not a reality TV watcher. I know The
Bachelor because of my work, but I don't I haven't
seen a lot of the shows that these these heroes
are from on Perfect Match, and I have not watched

(03:50):
the first two seasons a Perfect Match. So I was
going into this so cold, and I think it's really
I think the activities the games makes really exciting and
really fun different. I do think this show is much
hornier than The Bachelor is. I know Bachelor in Paradise

(04:10):
is different, but like, I was surprised at how physical
everyone was getting so quickly, and let me tell you,
I loved it. I wanted to see more. I'm excited
to see what happens next. And also this being a
Netflix show, this is like a Netflix multiverse thing. We're
bringing in people from Bachelor, bringing people from CS to Key.
I'm excited to see how those people mesh with the

(04:33):
with the Netflix people, because there's definitely a flavor to
each one. And yeah, I mean the you know, I'm
going to be anchored a lot in the Bachelor people
there on this Rachel and Clayton, because that's who I
have the most the longest relationship with everyone else is
kind of new to me. Yeah, It's It's a fascinating idea,

(04:56):
and I think Nick lache is a great host, and
I I just love the idea of people having to
become like American gladiators while they're also like making out.
That's something that's really exciting to me.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It feels like to me, I had a lot of
hesitancy when iHeart asked us to break down perfect match.
I am not a reality television guru. I feel like
I could claim that I know about as much about
The Bachelor as anybody else in the world because of
my experience on The Bachelor and my long standing relationship

(05:27):
with the show. I don't necessary I would never claim
to be a reality television person. I don't watch a
lot of reality television, so I was hesitant. I'll just
say this Easton. I mean, I binged a lot of
episodes because I was enjoying it. I started out almost

(05:49):
this makes me sound like a prude, but it's not
like I was almost started the episode one disgusted, like, Wow,
this is so horny. People are picking things off of
each other without even knowing each other's names. Yeah, they're
sleeping in the same beds a couple hours after meeting.

(06:10):
And then I got into it a little bit more
throughout the episode, and I started to really engage and say,
I like the concept. Now, are you a Netflix like
reality show fan? Do you watch any other shows?

Speaker 3 (06:23):
No, I haven't seen them. I'm familiar with the concepts,
but I have not watched any of the Netflix like,
I haven't watched like what would that be? Too Hot
to Handle? I think and Ultimatum. And it's interesting at
least because I only watched The Love Is Blind. I've
only watched the first episode of Perfect Match because I
followed the homework to a te I watched the first episode,

(06:44):
nothing more. But I think it's interesting watching the contestants
bring the in my opinion, the attitudes of the shows
that they originated on to like the guys from Too Hot,
the guy from Too Hot to Handle, He's like, I
am I want to have sex, I am here to
have I am attracted to people, and I think I
am attractive. I can't wait to bone down. And then

(07:06):
like Clayton, for example, is like, wow, we stayed up
all night talking and like someone who it comes from
a show where you build a relationship that you're hopefully
going to end in an engagement. You know, I thought
that was kind of interesting.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
So we were always honest here. If we don't like something,
I think we feel free to say it. Oh yeah,
would you categorize Perfect Match episode one as something you like? Yes?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I would. And that is again from someone that I'll
be honest. I watched Bachelor Winter Games because I knew
like half the cast, like personally, and I was like,
I can't I can't do it, man.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I got Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I saw there's a part where Ashley was like sliding
down a snowy hillside like on her butt, and I
was like, I can't do this.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I'm sorry, it's tough.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
But I enjoyed Perfect Match. I'm going to watch the
rest of the season. I had a lot of fun
and I think it's a really fascinating show and I'm
excited to see how these people navigate these obstacles and relationships.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, I enjoyed it. I think a big reason why
I enjoyed it is because I was able to follow it.
As not a fan of Perfect Match. I was able
to tune into episode one, and by the time that
episode was done, I was like, I know what this
show's about, Like I get it. Yes, I understand it.
I know the characters, i know how new characters are introduced.
I'm familiar with the format, and I enjoyed that because

(08:24):
it didn't feel like I was playing catch up at all.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yes, definitely, they really make it accessible for people that
are jumping in now.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah's as simple as can be. I mean, if you
can't track this episode, you know what, Like it's just
dirty television. Like if you can't get on this, like
you might want to figure your life out. So here's
how we go. For those that don't know what Perfect
Match is. It is on Netflix. The series features contestants
from other Netflix reality shows, along with obviously shows not

(08:52):
on Netflix. I don't know if Rachel and Clayton are
the two first non Netflix people on Perfect Match. Our
producer is writing in saying it is a first. We're
in season three now, so three seasons in the first
time anybody outside of Netflix has come into this universe.

(09:16):
It shows couples pair up to compete in challenges is.
They compete to formulationships. The most compatible couples then play matchmaker,
breaking up other couples and sending them on dates with
brand new singles they'll invite into the villa. The series
is hosted by Nick lache As Easton said, great host,
really fun for this. I feel like he fits it well.

(09:37):
It is entertaining. Let's start with the entry of Perfect Match. Easton,
you want to take it away?

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, it's The intro was very cute, a little kind
of like produced bit of a nick lache, looking like
Castaway's like Tom Hanksey sitting on a beach, looking like
he's been there.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
For a while.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
He's lost on it as a island. He's talking to
a coconut, not unlike Wilson the volleyball in the award
winning film. And he gets a message in a bottle
that reads, it's time the moment I've been waiting for coke.
And then he says, Coco, we're out of here. And
so I'm assuming he was marooned on this island. But
now he's gotten the call. He's headed to Tuloom. He's

(10:19):
got to make love happen. It's time for a perfect match.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Ten of the sexiest singles from around the world then
show up to this villa. Now Nick calls them ten
of the sexiest singles in the world. I think they
are ten of the most forward singles, and maybe nine
of the most forward singles in the world. I do

(10:44):
feel like Clayton did not work or does not fit
this show at all, because he is there for a wife,
and I think everybody else is there for just a
fun hookup, like a reason to share a bed with
somebody as quickly as possible.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, that was something I was trying to like kind
of talk myself through as I was watching it, is
that I I am so in Bachelor World. So I
was like when people were talking about the matches and like, oh,
I think I found my person, and I'm like, oh
my god, they're going to get engaged. How fun? And
then I kept remind reminding myself, like the prize is
you get to go on a vacation, I think, And
so maybe they don't, like maybe they just want to

(11:23):
have sex and spend time with this person, they don't
want to get married to them, and yeah, I don't know.
So it's interesting because I too, just like Clayton, I
had to break myself of that at that mindset.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
In your opinion, do you like this more or less?

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Much more? This is much more realistic?

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah? Okay, yeah I think it is. I think it's
much more relatable for the average watching nobody's watching perfect
Match being like how could you not make out with
that human? Or how did you make out with that
human twenty four hours? If nomen it's like, well, you
know that's happened in our life before. Whereas you know,
the Bachelor World, I do think has this huge hurdle
to prove to the audience that these people actually are

(12:02):
in love and want to get married.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yes, exactly. So ten of the sexiest singles from as
Nick said, from around the world show up and they're
trying to find their chance at love. I something I
thought was interesting as they film the like, god, there's
a term for it. They'll like interview segments where there
where they contestants are them I TM, so in the moment,

(12:26):
is that what that stands for?

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah, look at me. I'm just like I was there
getting a rose myself as they're when they're filming the ims,
it's they start with this really wide shot where they're
sitting in front of like a rainbow rainbow corridor is
not unlike the Netflix logo, and uh sitting in a
chair and to me, like the angle was very off putting.
It's like at crotch level. That really wide shot just

(12:51):
made me feel like they're just alone in a warehouse
talking to It kind of bumped me a little bit.
But uh, I thought that was kind of interesting and
we kind of get to we get introduced to a
few of the couples as they enter the villa. One
of the first guys is Louis from Love Is Blind
and I Ben was texting last night about this guy.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
I have a legit, legitimate question about this guy. I
think he's actually a really fun hang and look, I
watch him, like, you're like so many of my friends.
You are like funny, you know, you are young and
just excitable. The thing that stood up to me was
he continued to talk about how large of an asset

(13:31):
he had in his pants.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Like I can't remember exactly what he says, but he
comes out the gate just talking about how big a
hog is.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
And I feel like so my question to the group
last night was, if somebody talks about how big of
a hog they have so often and consistently, you would
assume that it's not very big, right.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
That's what I would assume as a as a hog
honing man, I would assume the more you hear about
how big it is, the smaller it is.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah, you're proving something to somebody. You're you're saying it
hoping that nobody actually ever has to can never prove
that it's true. Again, I enjoy him as a character.
I question his I question his confidence in himself when
it comes to his ability to impress anybody else on

(14:20):
that beach. I'm going to make the assumption Easton that
everybody there is well endowed because they look like they are.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
There's stuff like they're all right. He's also very insecure
about his age. He kept bringing up everyone can ask
him how old he was. He's twenty three years old,
and he's like, I'm a full grown mind. Don't talk
about how old I am. You know he's Yeah. So
I'm interested to see how his confidence plays out throughout
this show. But we're going into it, I'm feeling like

(14:47):
he's very insecure, so I jumped ahead. I'm sorry. Louis
just caught my eye originally because of how he introduced himself.
But he's not the first one to arrive. The first
one on the beach is Ad and Sandy from Love
is Blind. Sandy is from The Ultimatum, and I enjoy Ad.
I like her a lot. I think she's a lot

(15:08):
of fun. I think I think she's very attractive, and
she wants a tall, muscular guy with huge features, and
Sandy wants a bad boy on the outside and a
softy on the inside.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
There's a lot of innu windows going on in the
entries of these contestants. There you can tell right away
what kind of show we're getting into. This is a show,
like you said that are just a couple of people
showing up the beach to hook up.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yes, exactly exactly. They're trying to set the stage here,
like this is a show where it's gonna be people
having sex and hanging out. If no one's getting down
on one knee, at the end of this show, they
might be getting down on two knees.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Been not one. Ady and Sandy, we have Louie and Cody.
Cody is from Temptation Island. He is a Southern gentleman.
He says he knows he's a catch, which if you
listen to the show before you know, I always go
if you say you're a catch, you've got some things

(16:18):
about you that might make you not a catch le
if somebody else tell you you're a catch. Cody thinks
he's a catch, and the girls love his Southern twain.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Yeah, Cody again comes from one of these. He comes
from a universe that is like so sexually motivated, Like
like the point of Temptation Island is to like try
to get you to cheat on your partner, So you know,
I'm curious what his ambitions are here, but again reinforcing
what type of show perfect matches. And we've discussed Louie,

(16:48):
we will continue to discuss Louie. We can move on
to Lucy and Madison. Another Lucy, another brit from Too
Hot to Handle, and I thought she was fun, but
also she was like she was trying to describe herself
and her personality and she's like, I'm so fun. I'm
like the kind of like person you can get out
of your mind. I'm like a disease. I'm like a virus,

(17:09):
but like the good kind. And I was like, oh,
that's a weird way to describe yourself, but.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I enjoyed it, especially on this show. It's very very
you know, you got to stay away from the disease talk.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yes, exactly, And we'll find out if Lucy is it
will become a super spreader event. Madison is from Love
is Blind and she loves a bad boy with tattoos
and she also drives a motorcycle. Madison's very cool. I
think Madison has a tattoo on her hand, which I
thought was interesting, and her belly and her belly. Yeah,

(17:41):
she's bull blasted herself.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah. I mean, so far we have a trend. It
seems like the people coming on Perfect Match and the
Netflix reality shows want a bad boy. Nobody's describing Clayton here, Like,
so far we have no Clayton describers, Right, I want
a guy to ask me about my virtual journey and
my biggest fears and what I want out of this.

(18:04):
On Night one, they're like, I am here for a
bad boy. I am here for a tall, muscular man
with big features. These are not people coming in. Like
what I appreciate about them is they're not hiding anything.
I think on The Bachelor you might have some people
that would fit on Perfect Match, they just choose not

(18:25):
to say it or it doesn't get aired at least
Madison and Lucy so far and a d especially like
they're saying what they want and they're just having a
good time going after it.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Yes, exactly, exactly, And I think that's very interesting. And
also like when they're doing the ims and you can tell,
like the producer asks them like what are you looking for?
I thought it was interesting how little we were hearing
about like personalities, no, no, no, not at all. Something
else I was thinking about while watching this is that

(19:00):
I keep forgetting that because it's on Netflix, they can
like say bad words like they can say swear words,
and uh, I'm in my mind of when we record
the Almost Famous podcast. I mean, you guys, are you
and Ashley pretty clean? But like most of the time
I have to watch out in case you guys say
a bad word and after write it down so we
can cut it out. And I'm watching Perfect Match and
whenever they would say a naughty word, that part of

(19:20):
my brain would go off, like, oh I write that down.
No I don't. I don't work on this show and
it's already done, so I don't worry about that. But
that's kind of fun. And I'm hoping that beyond beyond
the swearing, I hope we get some nudity on here too.
I'm praying for that. I don't think I'm gonna get
it that. I don't see why not. It's Netflix. They
can show nudity. I don't think we're going to see it,
but they can if they want to.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
I think I think we saw previews for like, uh,
maybe Temptation Island or something, and I was like, that
feels like aggressive television to watch. Yes, like you are,
you are watching like without and I'm with you. I'm
in this Bachelor mindset where it's like this is on ABC,
like family watches together. And I have never seen a

(20:04):
Netflix like reality show. So it is taking a little
bit to get used to just with what's being said,
what's being talked about, and what they can show and
not show. Just a side note here, Easton and I
would I would put myself into this category when it
came to the Bachelor when I did it. If you're
going on Temptation Island in the Perfect Match, can you

(20:27):
really say that you're a catch like you're going to
Like you're going on a show that you know is
set up for you to cheat on your significant other,
and then you're going on Perfect Match, a show that
you know is just like dating around as much as
you can to strategically get to the end. I don't
know if you're in a place in life to claim
that you are a catch.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
I have to agree with you. I think, yeah, just
by being involved with this show negates your catchiness.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Unfortunately, Yeah, I mean I do think.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
So.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Okay, Daniel and Ali come in next. Daniel is from
Dated and re Related. Oh. I don't even know what
the show is, but it just sounds bad.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
I had never heard of Dated and Related and I'm
scared of what the show is.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
It's single siblings that go on a dating show and
then like date at the like so you're like sisters
in the same house with you.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
You have to date like in front of like your
siblings are there and you're like they're watching you date
and vice versa. It's like date my Mom. I remember
that show on MTV, like your mom would watch you
go on a date kind of.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yeah, I want to know the people that like come
up with these ideas. I don't love them, but yeah.
He's an Italian stallion. He's tall, fit, uh and self
proclaimed very good in the bedroom. Ollie is a brit
from Love Is Blind UK. He's looking for a sweet, natured,
kind and funny girl. If she's a batty, it's a bonus. Easton.

(21:53):
Can you describe Battie to us please?

Speaker 3 (21:56):
I was thinking about that too. Abattie is I think,
especially how Allie means it. I think he means someone
who is adventure I want to say aggressive, adventurous, uninhibited, attractive.
I think if someone is described as a baddie. That
means they're attractive. Uh, that's how I would describe baddie.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Okay, baddie. Juliet is next from MTV CS to Key,
so a non Netflix show. She keeps hinting at this
kind of toxicity that she displayed during her time on
cis KEY. I have no clue what she's talking about,
but I'm assuming that a lot of listeners out there
will know exactly what we're talking about. I think she
was a pretty polarizing also a pretty big figure on

(22:42):
CS to Key, very pretty. And finally we got Clayton.
Clayton dances his way into his intro package. The dancing
that's become something we know and love, and then I'm
hoping not only brings some joy but also allows him
some type of financial stability, because goodness gracious, this dude

(23:03):
is getting either made fun of a lot or celebrated
a lot for his dancing these days.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, I was trained, you know, dancing was such a
big part of his like intro package on this and
the last time he's been on the Almost Famous podcast,
he's talked about his dancing a lot, and I was
trying to remember, like did this come up at all
during his time as the Bachelor. I feel like this
was like a post bachelor thing that he like. And
then he says like, Oh, I've always loved dancing. I
used to dance as a kid. Now we get made

(23:29):
fun of. And then now he's an adult, he's like
rediscovering his love of dance. And he's a fine dancer
from what I've seen. You know, the passion's there.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yeah, he's doing it on you know, he claims he's
doing it, And I do agree that he's doing because
he loves it and that he finds joy in it
and that it brings him happiness to know that he
can do it because he knows he's gonna get made
fun of, but he has the confidence to kind of
show the world he doesn't care, which, hey, I'm all
for it. Keep dancing, clar and dance your way into this.

(24:01):
But we find him on Perfect Match again. Nick Lache's
the host. He comes down and as Easton mentioned, Nick
kind of explains during this that the winning couple wins
a romantic vacation anywhere in the world to continue their relationship.
So if you win the Perfect Match, you get to
spend more time with your person from the show anywhere
in the world. I hope it's a good vacation. The

(24:23):
episode kind of transitions fairly quickly Easton into a game
that they're gonna play get to know you game. More
or less, nobody there really knows each other. There's a
few from similar shows, or maybe they watch somebody's show.
It's called Let's Puck again. That's puck, p u c K,
Let's puck. It's fun game. They drop a puck down

(24:44):
a board. It lands on a specific category including like
yoga moves and truth and truth or dare or body shots.
I mean, it's a good get to know you game.
Like it definitely starts to fire out hot. But the
thing I'm missing here is as Nick comes down, he
starts asking questions. Clayton right away throws out more aggressively

(25:08):
than anybody else there, and I think this is part
of his strategy when it comes to Perfect Match and
his new revived Clayton persona is He says, I'm into Lucy,
like I like that girl. Right away he shoots his shot.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yes, I admire how because like again we've been talking
about how Clayton is a more emotionally connected guy on
Perfect Match than the other people, but I appreciate him
singling someone out right away as we play let's puck
and it lands on, it lands on body shots. And

(25:44):
we were talking about this off the air before we started.
But this show, this show is filmed with very high
definition cameras and we're in twenty twenty five. We're using
state of the art stuff. And I know other reality
shows deal with this too, but we can really see
how people are feeling in the temperature and tu loom.
Everyone is sweaty, everyone is glistening, and we get to
find out that that sweat goes all the way down

(26:05):
because when Juliette does a body shot out of Clayton's
belly button and she says to everybody, there was some
sweat mixed in there.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
And I just don't feel like that's a good start.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
I don't think it's like a thing that's fun for anybody.
I don't. I have never met a human that's like,
you know what, I'm into sweat.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Yeah, it's yeah, it's gross, and even in the best circumstances,
you know, it's still kind of bumps me. It's salty
and weird.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
It's salty and weird, and it's and it's an excretion
things in our body that we need to get rid of.
So it is it is a bodily you know, liquid
that comes out of our pores and does taste very salty.
Juliette does not seem to love it quite honestly. I mean,

(26:52):
I think from the initial kind of comment she's like,
it was fine, but I didn't love what I tasted.
So Clayton does drop the puck, gets a body shot
from Juliette. Next up is or Juliette drops a puck,
gets Clayton. Next up is Clayton. He drops a puck
and luckily for him, he gets Lucy and gets to

(27:15):
tease her. Is the category with an ice cube wherever?

Speaker 3 (27:20):
He may like, Yeah, I thought that was interesting because
it just says tease with an ice cube, So I
was like, what what does that mean? Is it like,
are you gonna like wiggle the ice cube in front
of them or like that's honestly the first thing kid in.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
My mind, that'd be amazing a power move yep, well no,
no not.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
But Clayton, Clayton knows what he's doing. He puts it
in his mouth and he drags it up her body,
and you know, like, I think Clayton is a goofy dude,
and but I thought this was I thought this was
pretty hot.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
And then he ends it by putting ice cube in
her mouth, and uh, I thought they were gonna end
up kissing. They don't. He just puts it in her
mouth and I think she starts chewing on it.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yeah. I don't know if Lucy showed much affection towards
Clayton at any point this episode, even though he was very,
very forward in his interest to her. We also got
Lucy and Cody doing a yoga pose. We got Adi
and Ali doing a yoga pose. Madison and Louie get
paired up again. We're getting netflixy here. Louie gets eats

(28:23):
a strawberry from between her breasts, and Daniel chooses Juliette.
At the very end, he lands on truth or dare
dares Juliet to kiss him. They do kiss, really the
first like real kiss we have seen this season.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Yes, I mean, Adi and Ali do this like yoga
post thing, and they do lock lips a bit, But
when Daniel and Juliet kiss, it's a that is teetering
on makeout. If you ask me, there was tongue. That
was an intense, intense kiss in front of everybody. Everyone's
really riled up to to get physical here.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Ollie really matches AD's description for us. She's looking for doesnty, Yes,
very much so tall, handsome, strong.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
They they do I'm sorry, I can't remember. This is
later in the episode or not, but they do a
flashback to a d on Love is Blind, and h
I was blown away by the clip they showed because
it's like, it's it's a and I forgive you know,
forgive me. I've not seen Love is Blind. I don't
know how the show really works. But they're they're at
a wedding. It's a full blown wedding. They're at the altar,

(29:32):
she's in a wedding dresser, a guests and the guy
she's with they're like, do you take you know, I
can't remember what her full name is, but you take
Ad to be your wife? And he's like, I'm sorry,
but I can't do this. And I was like, wow,
what is this show? You get to do a full
wedding and the guy is like undecided still, And that's
the when you find out. I felt terrible for her.

(29:52):
I hope she she seems to be having a lot
of fun with with Allie here, but I feel so
bad for her having ended love is blind in that manner.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
That's crazy. Yeah, I think I think I watched that
clip and when this is even crazier television. And here's
my concern for myself Easton. The Perfect Match is going
to get me into watching a lot of reality television
because I'm gonna be so hooked on the craziness. The
fact that I cannot see myself there on this show

(30:25):
is also the same thing that makes me go, I
want to know about these humans that do agree to
go there on this show.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
It made me wonder, like because the Bachelor does this,
like they'll do little games and stuff like that, but
like when you were the Bachelor, Like, did they make
you play a game where you like, did you have
to do like a truth or dair type of thing
or was there anything that made it physical for you
when you when you were on when you were the Bachelor?

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Uh No, there was never that. Uh And and most
of the games were like very PG. In fact, I
think they were incredibly PG. And I think that's what
you get in like Netflix is, they push the limits.
But for me, I would have felt very uncomfortable and
probably based on how I want to operate in life,

(31:09):
would have to say no to most of the things
I saw in the first episode of Perfect Match, Like
I would not be a good contestant on that show.
I would be saying no. Somebody's like, hey, you roll
body shot, take a body shot off of them, be like,
I can't do it. Not my thing. It's not who
I want to be. But I respect and enjoy watching
people do it that aren't me. Yeah, I'm having a

(31:34):
good time with it. You know. At this point, I
think in the episode Eaeson, I'm learning that this show
is not about a future love connection. It is about
a partner to get through this process with. We get
through the game, it's a lot of fun. They get
to know each other very intimately, and then we kind
of get our traditional reality television cocktail hour where everybody

(31:57):
gets to meet and chat. A few things stand out
to me during this cocktail hour. One the couples that
already seem to be coupling very quickly, that does seem
to be at first, it does seem to be Daniel
and Juliette. I think, isn't juliet the one he sucked
the toes of Yes? Yeah, he's very into it to

(32:22):
second count, he could have gone twenty, no questions. He
and Juliette seem to have a spark. Clayton is still
going for Lucy. I don't see it happening Ady and Ali,
I think right away, I'm like, this is a couple
that could last, actually last, Like, I hope this show
doesn't break them apart because I feel like they've got
something special. It's that bachelor chemistry that's oozing through the screen.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Yes, absolutely, and during this cocktail hour, and I believe
this is when this happens. Leuis starts freestyling, that's always
to me. I don't mean to harp on Louis so much.
I'm interested in him. I think he's a cool guy
and I really love his energy. But like when when
guys start freestyling, it always gives me pause.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
And I agree it's a wild thing to do or
claim you're good.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
At exactly, and I'm excited to see if he continues
to do it throughout the season. Is this the last
time we hear his freestyling? I'm hoping not as much
as it kind of bumped me. But but yeah, and
the toast sucking too, I want to go back to
because like they're on a beach, they're walking around. Man,
I don't I don't care how into it I into

(33:36):
somebody I am. It's gonna take a lot for me
to want to suck toes. I'm also there's another foot
part in this episode. Cody spills his drink on Madison
and she's like, oh no, my my Balenciaga is just
kidding their target and then like he's like cleaning it up,
and the camera like really zooms in on her feet
and they're taking it off, and I'm like, oh man,
what producer has like a foot thing on this show.

(33:57):
I do.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Think in that course of that Cody did mention he
would look at off her feet, and I think he did.
She was kind enough to be like, I wouldn't do
that if I was you, Like, I don't think they're
in a good place to be getting licked right now.
It's been a long day. I am in shoes, I
have walked the beach. You just spilt on me. There's
a lot of things going on down there that I

(34:21):
just would probably prefer you and you would probably prefer
not to taste.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Easton. Am I fair to say that when it comes
to these shows, any level of elementary hygiene lessons are
thrown out the window.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
Yeah, especially the ones that like take place on the beach.
You're going in pools, you're going swimming a lot, you're sweating.
Most importantly, I think you really got it, row all
your expectations out the window. I know you you haven't
been in paradise, but like, I'm so curious, like is
everyone how much grooming do they allow?

Speaker 1 (35:09):
You?

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Are you able to not just allow, but like are
you able to do? Like does everyone just smelling like garbage?
And you have to like pretend like everyone looks good.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
That's my that's my hope and assumption. Yeah, yeah, my
hope is that everybody is so stinky all the time.
I love the idea of that. I love the relatability
of that. I think on this show, you see a
long day of hot beach in a villa with cameras
and nerves. So here's what the thing. You know, Nervous

(35:39):
sweat is the smelliest sweat, and so nerves happening, and
so there is a lot going on. I'm also assuming
that they're not waiting thirty minutes after eating to get
into the pool.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Yeah, be fair, that's fair to say. There's probably some
cramping going on.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Yeah, I got assuming aches. Yeah, think about tummy eggs
that are happening Easton. We have some matches happening about
at this point in the episode. The matches so far,
Daniel and Lucy are the first to match. Ady and
Ali are the second. Sandy and Louis match kind of
a shocker, honestly, kind of came out of nowhere at

(36:15):
the time. Madison and Cody match, Juliet and Clayton match.
Definitely the funniest part is the two of them like
like kind of wanting to match, but like also not
really wanting to match, and it's agreeing to match, and
it feels like there's no worse scenario than you're on
a beach set up to match with another human. It

(36:37):
is how you get through the night and to be
the last two standing like you definitely didn feel like
the rejects.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Right, absolutely, you are the people pick last in basketball.
You are assigned to each other. You did not match.
That's bad times for Clayton. I think overall, Clayton's.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Not having a good experience on the show so far,
but he's learning about himself as he goes, and goodness gracious,
with the years Clayton's had, we need him to get
a win. But he does kind of get into a
when the next morning when he says, Hey, juliet I
know we're gonna probably have to kiss today. Should we
just do it now? Should we just do it now?

Speaker 3 (37:10):
That was okay? That whole scene they show everyone else
go into their rooms and implying and kind of showing
that they're having sex, like a lot of people are
hooking up, they're staying the night together, and then we
show Clayton and Juliette and it's it's clearly morning. They
could not be further apart from each other. He's like,
I guess we should kiss, and it's just like, goddamn.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Yeah, this is amazing. This is perfect guys. Nice job this, Clayton.
What a way, What a way to enter into that
first kiss with this human that you are going to
spend at least a day with, is saying, hey, like,
guess we have to kiss today? Like, should we just
get out of the way now? I don't know if
that was game. I don't know if that was necessity.

(37:53):
It was awkward, I will say as a viewer it
felt very uncomfortable for me and him probably, but they
do kisses an he's smart to do it. Because we
get our first challenge of the season. It's a big challenge.
It's a rowing challenge. They're kind of on a raft together.
Each couple are, and they have to hold a card
in between their mouths as you row back and forth

(38:17):
to grab these cards and then drop them off. The
only thing you can use to touch the card is
your mouth, and so if you drop the card in
the water, you got to go back and grab a
new one with you with your mouth. It is a
very intimate challenge. It does bring these couples closer physically
then you know, probably they had been in the last

(38:37):
two hours since they woke up in the same beds
one night after meeting each other.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
It's an interesting challenge because everyone on this show is
in incredible shape. Everybody's very fit. The guys are jacked,
the ladies are very toned. Like the first before I
realize kind of how the game worked, and they have
to like pull the rope they're having no problem with it.
But also I was like, what really like it took
me a while to understand the like card element. I

(39:02):
was like, are they just going back and forth on
this raft? But it's it's a lot of fun to watch.
At one point, Louis and Sandy just end up making out,
like they forget the cards completely and they're just laying
on top of each other just making out, which I
thought was was fun. We enjoy people giving into the passion.
Juliette and Clayton are when they're coming they they're going

(39:25):
for their first card and they're coming back and they're
Clayton's underneath, Juliet's on top. They're kind of sink the water.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
He's a big dude.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
He's a very big dude. It appears his head is
extremely heavy and it's the uh the stern of that
boat is going is in the water, and I was like,
is Clayton going to drown?

Speaker 2 (39:45):
This is crazy? He is I will say this. He
when he went to our event. I believe you were
there Easton when he came to an iHeart event with us.
He is a massive man, Like there is no joke here.
When I would say I am not a tiny person.
I'm I'm a six foot four to two hundred pound
what I would say, you wouldn't want to fight me
in the streets, but you could probably beat me if

(40:08):
he tried. Type of person that's who I am. Clayton
is easily three times as big as me, like shoulder
with like huge Yes.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
The internet says he's six' five and two hundred and fifty.
POUNDS i would argue bigger than that just based on
his Mond he's a very muscular. Man he's a huge.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Dude this raft was not built for. Him their strategy
immediately starts to. Fail we start to get signs that
the two of, them even though they work together as a,
team maybe not as compatible as. Others but this game
is not about. Compatibility the team that wins Is cody
And madison win the. Challenge But madison here says one

(40:48):
of the most shocking shocking things that we see in episode.
One madison says she Likes, cody which is always a
nice thing to say about the. Person, again you just
spent the night WITH i like that, guy but he
his mouth is not the. Fit her favorite. Part he
needs a tongue scraper and. Mouthwash this is gonna last Him, Easton,

(41:11):
like this is not going. Away you claim somebody has bad,
BREATH i don't know if you can also claim that
you like them too.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Much, yeah that's. Brutal that's brutal to. Hear AND i
wonder if you're if you're we were talking earlier about,
like you, know what would it take to suck someone's?
Toes what would it take to endure the taste of?
Sweat but, like if you really like, somebody can you
ignore bad? Breath apparently that is a bridge too far
From madison and something THAT i REALLY i don't know

(41:41):
if you noticed this, Too, ben but SOMETHING i really
enjoyed about the rest of the episode is that after
she drops that, bomb there's a couple, moments there's at
least two Where madison And cody are like talking to
the camera and then they finish a thought and then
they kind of they don't zoom in On, cody but
THEY i think they boost his mic and you hear him.
Go but, REALLY i can smell it through the.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
SCREEN i can't get it out of my. Head she
ruined this, Guy she put a stake in him right,
there and then we knew this was not going to end.
Well she. Ruined this poor, man this southern gentleman who's
going to try so hard to be a good, catch
has now also been defined by the guy that has

(42:23):
such bad breath that somebody on the show had to
talk about it on camera and announce it to all the.
Viewership they do, win which means they get to go
on a. Date the dates on this show are exactly
HOW i want these dates to. Be, quick, painless, easy,
fun and very quick to. Watch the most interesting part

(42:45):
easton of this whole show happens. Next for, Me it's
the MOMENT i SAID i like this. Show this is
a good. SHOW i want to keep watching this. Show
it happens right after the. Date the next, Day cody
And madison are now because they won the, challenge they

(43:06):
get to go into what they call the. Boardroom it
might be the only boardroom most of these people ever,
see but it's a room with a very high tech
table that shows all the couples currently paired, together along
with some people that must be hiding out in the

(43:27):
local hotel waiting to get called into the. Show cody And,
madison because they won the, challenge have the ability to
bring on two of these contestants and match them up
on a date with somebody that already exists with in the,
villa so they break up a relationship for a period of.
Time or there's a third, Option, madison because the women

(43:51):
have the power this, week can bring a guy in
to go on a date herself and Tell cody to
just go back to the house and hang. Out.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
Yeah so if she does, that then there there a
match is over right like that that breaks their.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
MATCH i think as soon as the Boardroom my my
assumption and kind of What i've learned is as soon
as the boardroom is, done like as soon as they
walk out the, door the next week, starts.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Okay and then there's the new.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Matches they already, matches everybody has to rematch up, again.

Speaker 3 (44:22):
Okay uh. Yeah when they when they announce they're going
into the, boardroom having not seen perfect match, BEFORE i was,
like what is the?

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Boardroom is it a?

Speaker 3 (44:31):
Surfboard is?

Speaker 1 (44:31):
It?

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Like did they have to Face netflix? Executives what are they?
Doing and uh like they show the big logo And i'm,
like not going to is this a thing THAT i
don't know? Now and thankfully it was easy to, understand
but the the gravitas of the boardroom was not. Exaggerated
that's it was very important and uh and kind of
interesting to see how they how they handle. It we

(44:54):
have a guy FROM U Love island or, yeah a
guy From Love, island which is a peacock show right AT,
nbc and there's a there's someone From love Is BLIND.
Uk madison chooses him.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
A lot of Power easton in the. BOARDROOM i love the.
IDEA i kind of Think paradise should adopt. This not
to make this always come back to The, bachelor BUT
i love the idea of contestants winning something and then
getting to strategically choose who comes onto the beach next
instead of the always. Unexpected because here's what can. HAPPEN

(45:34):
i see throughout the, season people's feelings are gonna get
hurt because, Say clayton is loved by, everybody but he
really doesn't Like. Ali, yeah he could Send ali on
a date just to mess with him If clayton wins the.
CHALLENGE i love the idea of the drama starting not

(45:54):
based on a producer saying head down the, stairs but
by the contestants having the power to choose.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Yes it gives it like a survivor kind of, aspect
like you, know knowing, that like the people you're there
with could be your greatest ally or your greatest. Enemy and,
uh it is really exciting and it shows that like
this could go any. Direction it's not just like what
the producers think will be the most. Interesting and then
we get some random person walking. In, no IT'S i love.

(46:23):
THIS i love The wardroom, too AND i, UH i
can't wait to see what happens with.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
It were you shocked That madison chose to break up
With cody after they just won the challenge to go
On This day With? FREDDY i was not.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
SHOCKED i especially even before the Bad breath. THING i
did not feel That cody And madison were a great
match when they were the second to, LAST i think
to match. Up madison clearly reacting To. Clayton she called
Him clayton at one point.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Earlier in she DID i went to. Bed she, goes
can somebody come Help clayton with HIS? MIC i Mean,
Cody oh what a way to?

Speaker 3 (47:00):
Start oh, man SO i could tell her heart wasn't in.
IT i was not shocked by. THIS i did feel
bad For. Cody he seems. Nice you know again he
just needs he needs a good mouth washing and maybe
some extra. Floss BUT i, yeah it was weird because
AGAIN i see these people matching, up And i'm in my,

(47:21):
Head i'm, like, oh it's gonna be like this for
the whole, season or at least very deep into. IT
i was not ready for it to like. RESET i
was not ready for it to end. Immediately and The
chiron even like kind of was trying to help. Me
they were, Like, easton you, dumbass this is their current,
match like you would, say Like madison's current, match knowing
like these are, temporary these are. Fleeting this could end

(47:41):
at any, moment and For cody it does right.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
Away. Yeah so we kind of end this episode With
cody going back to the villa announcing That madison is
going to be going on a date With, freddy which is.
Exciting So cody has to slowly walk. Back and then
they Match juliette With, carrington and they Match sandy and J.

(48:08):
R together and Again madison And freddie go on this.
Date that's where the episode. Ends that's episode one of
The Perfect match East in any final, THOUGHTS i love.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
IT i think it's a really fascinating. SHOW i like
that IT'S i enjoy how horny it. IS i really.
Do i'm trying not to sound like too much of
a purv, here BUT i enjoyed. It everyone's very, hot
AND i enjoy them making out with each. Other AND
i THINK i love the. GAMES i love the. BOARDROOM

(48:40):
i think it has a lot of really interesting strategies
and aspects to it that set it apart from other dating.
Shows And i'm. In i'm going to watch the rest
of the. SEASON i like.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
It this is wild, television absolutely. Unexpected sometimes my job
brings me into places THAT i least, expect But i'm
learning along the way about different humans and different walks of.
LIFE i enjoyed the Show EASTERN i. DID i was.
HOOKED i wanted to see what was. NEXT i LIKED

(49:14):
i liked the videography of the. Show it made me
feel LIKE i was on the beach at times. MYSELF
i really liked the. VILLA i think the villa's beautiful
and it looks like a really fun place to hang.
OUT i enjoy Also. Easton the one REASON i THOUGHT
i could do this show was that as soon as you,
match you get to go to. Bed like there's no
reason to stay, up And i'm, like, oh, well goodness,

(49:35):
gracious that for me is an amazing thing because you're
telling me by nine O'CLOCK i could still be asleep
most of the time in. Life that is HOW i
filter my social calendar on what time CAN i be
back at home to then get a good night's. Rest
it's very important to.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Me.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
Easton we'll be breaking down every episode Of Perfect match here.
Again clayton From Bachelor, nation our former, bachelor is on episode.
One we do know h will be showing up to
the villa at some point throughout the. SEASON i Hope
easton is here, for if not all of, them most
of our. Breakdowns he brings a, beautiful, honest, earnest fun

(50:13):
perspective to the. Show so until next, Time i've Been, ben.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
And if you enjoyed this, Show i've Been Easton and if,
Not i've Been Dean. Unglert thanks see, you.
