Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Almost Famous podcast with iHeartRadio. Welcome everybody
to the Almost Famous Podcast. We are talking Frankie Friday.
If you don't know what Frankie Friday is, let me
give you a clue. The Bachelorette, our next bachelorette, Taylor
Frankie Paul, and every Friday leading up to the Bachelorette,

(00:22):
we are going to be talking all things Taylor Frankie
Paul to just tune you in get you informed about
who our next bachelorette is. And I am joined by
Heather Monday, our lovely producer for Almost Famous. So it's
just us two chat in the chat. Hi, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
This is perfect? I want to know Trista like, how
much on a scale of one to ten, one being nothing,
ten being super fan, would you say you know when
it comes to Taylor Frankie Paul.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Oh gosh, I am really low on that spectrum because
I didn't know who she was prior to her Now,
I mean, I had heard her name, I knew what
mom talk was, or at least had heard of mom talk,
but I had never watched Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Okay, so Frankie Briday is perfect for somebody like you then,
because you're going to be learning so much about her
leading up by the time March rulls around, you're gonna
be like, h Taylor, Frankie Paul, I know her mom,
I know her kids' names, I know her exes.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
You can know it all, and that's what aady listening.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
If you're like you know Trista and you don't know
everything about the lead, this will hopefully get you as
excited as some of us who do know more about
her because they're dropping a lot of stuff and we're
not doing any spoilers. I want to say that we're
not spoiling you know who we see in these videos
or who the top ones are, and we're not doing that. Okay,

(01:47):
we still want it to be a very enjoyable season.
We're just talking about certain things we're seeing in the
headlines that could possibly show up on the show, So
little bit of discretion on that, Like, we're not really
the season for anybody perfect.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I love it. I love being able to go into
the season knowing who she is as a person, because
usually people get to know the lead because they were
on you know, a previous show and were recycled. So
I feel like now with this, this can be people's
one stop shop to getting to know all about Taylor

(02:25):
Frankie Paul for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
And I think, listen, you know this as well. Since
you were the first bachelorette and you came from season
one of the Bachelor, did you feel like the audience
really got to know you from your first season on
the Bachelor or did they really get to know you
a lot more when you were the bachelorette Because you

(02:46):
were one of twenty something women, you probably got really
limited screen time even though you went, you know, incredibly
far to the final on that series. Like would you
say that? Like I think, I guess my question is
did you feel like the audience knew you really knew
you during your time on Bachelor Nation or did that

(03:08):
come more after Bachelor Nation when you were with you know,
Ryan and sharing that you know.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Part of your love journey.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I feel like people got to know me, like maybe
the basics, you know, the like foundation of who I
was on the Bachelor, and then you know, they knew
I was a pediatric physical therapist, a Miami heat cheerleader,
that I lived in Miami, that you know, certain things

(03:38):
that I wanted a family, you know, those those kind
of things. So they learned some basics about me, but
I feel like, for sure they got to know me
during the Bachelorette because when you're a contestant versus and
I hate calling it a contestant, but that's what we're
calling it, versus the lead, you get obviously way more

(03:58):
time in front of the cameras and you're talking all
about what you want out of life. So that's way
more than just the basics, you know. So people definitely
got to know me as the Bachelorette, and then even
more so afterwards with like interviews that we did talking
about you know, just life and not being edited necessarily,

(04:21):
you know, and being able to just speak our mind
as as in real time.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I think like as a as a fan of the
show for so many years, I could say that, you know,
there were you know, leads where I had watched them
previously and watched them, you know, go through the show
where I was like, yeah, like I really, you know,
think I know what they're looking for in terms of love.
I don't know if I could ever say who their

(04:48):
exes were, what they're you know, maybe they grew up
in you know, what they did for a living. Maybe,
like all of these things, I like feel like I
know Taylor already on a different level, which is like totally.
It's it's really making me invested for this season because
I've already seen her attempt. I've already seen it, so

(05:11):
I'm like, I already know a little bit of like
what to expect. So I guess like for people that
don't know her or haven't watched the show, it is
going to feel very different. But for a lot of
us that have watched, and I know there's a lot
of us because the numbers are huge on her show,
it's gonna be interesting because we just I just know it.

(05:35):
I know I've talked to other fans. We feel very
invested in her journey already.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Totally because Secret Lives is, you know, a docuseries, so
they're following them in their real life. It's not a
dating show as Bachelorette is, so you definitely have gotten
to know her in her daily, everyday life. And yes,
some of some of the locations or activities or whatever

(06:03):
they do, I assume are probably scripted, you know, the
producers are like, hey, let's go whatever. But then maybe
it's something that she wouldn't choose normally, but I feel
like they are. You're definitely getting to know someone like
a Kardashian or like Jessica and Nick back in the day,
you know, like those kind of series where you're following

(06:24):
these people in their everyday life. You're definitely getting to
know her. So that's so true.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Jessica and Nick from Newlyweds is a perfect example. That's
a perfect example of how people are so invested in
Jessica Simpson's life and were for so long because of
that show. So perfect example.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yes, yeah, I feel like we get to follow along,
and in Bachelorette you're getting to follow along like in
their life's choices. Like the biggest decision I feel like
that you make in life is you know, the partner
that you choose for the rest of your life. Yeah,
so I feel like that's a big decision and a
big you find out a lot about a person in

(07:05):
going through that process, but you don't like follow them
along with taking their you know, kids on vacation and
dealing with the drama of all of that, and dealing
with the drama of ex'es and dealing with the drama
of family life, and you know all of that, so
I think it'll be really interesting to see. You're right,
there's such a huge following for Secret Lives, and I

(07:29):
hope it's going to translate. But we're just here as
almost famous to like share all about her so everyone
else can join in to uh, you know, the fan base,
and we can root for her.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
And the ultimate hope is that if she does make
a love connection, that we then see this person on
Secret Lives after it and we get to see what
I think all the Exploration fans have always wanted, which
is the after the proposal part of the relationship that
we've really never gotten to see outside of Like I'm

(08:02):
pretty sure that Ben and Lauren were the only Bachelor
Nation couple in history to ever get their own reality show,
so you know, we've never really gotten to see that
from people. So that would be the ultimate if we
got to see that too. But let's dive into these headlines.
I'll let you kick it off.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Okay, So we've got a headline.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Taylor Frankie Paul turns up the heat in a sexy
red lace dress for the Bachelorette rose ceremony. I have
not seen this picture, so I just saw when you
asked if I had read seen the tiktoks, I just
saw the ones you texted me. I didn't know this
was no worry bottom.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
So it's all good.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
You want to take a second and click on it
and look at it, Yeah, I'm fine with that.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Perfect. I mean, honestly, she is a gorgeous girl, like
gorgeous girl, and I feel like she is very sexy,

(09:07):
and that's like part of I feel like who she is.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
She likes to be.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Like what's the word. She likes to show off her assets.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
She likes to show off what.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Was God made and what was plastic surgeon made or
whatever it was. I don't know if she's had plastic surgery,
but hey, if you've got it flaunted.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Exactly, she is gorgeous, no joke. What we as fans
have always gotten to see her in is sweatpants. I mean,
the girl loves a good track suit. She loves crocs.
She's super open about that. My favorite thing was after
season one was such a hit, she totes around this
gooyyard tote now to bag and I was like, oh,

(09:55):
that is like her new character, like similar to Jessica
Simpson with the LOUI baton back in the day, Taylor
always has this Boyard tote now, which I think is
so funny.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I'm sorry, I don't even know what that is, but yes,
it's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
It's a high end French, French designer bag.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, that's I mean, I'm just clueless. I know Louis,
I don't know Goyard.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
All good, all good. So seeing her in these, you know,
typical bachelorette gowns is kind of a new thing for us, because, yes,
we see her dressed up for the Secret Lives and
Mormon Wives reunions. All the girlies do really glamorous looks
for that, but in the day to day we do
not see that. And I think that fans wondering, you know, oh,

(10:42):
is she gonna be herself like when she's doing this
or is she gonna really kind of fit more into
the format. And I really think they're doing a little
mix of both, because, yeah, some feet picks that we
talked about in a previous episode where she has been
instagramming her feet along with it looks like a man

(11:03):
whoever she's with, we don't know, got it. But we've
seen some crocs, we've seen some boots, so I'm under
the impression that she's kind of doing a mixture of both,
where she's being herself maybe during the day and she's
kind of getting a little glam for the Rose ceremonies.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
That's what I well.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I feel like also, most of us are, like in
our daily life, are wearing sweats or you know, comfy
clothes exactly same. I mean, even though it's not a hoodie,
it's a sweatshirt. So I feel like that's probably a
part of who she is. And we just haven't, I guess,
from what you're saying, gotten to see a lot of
the glam stuff from mom talk, except for like when

(11:44):
they do have to do glam with reunions or with
any of the tiktoks or whatever, because I know I
have seen some of her tiktoks where she's like, you know,
doing the transition from like before she gets ready to
after and she's like, hello, I'm dropped out gorgeous. So
I feel like that's part of who she is, and
I love seeing all parts of everybody.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
I love, you know.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
This TikTok that we're talking about in the clip, she
and Jesse Palmer are you know, joked about what their
conversations should sound like during every Rose ceremony and Taylor
mouths over the sound, I don't know what to say,
and Jesse replies, just be yourself, say something nice and
she goes back, which one. I can't do both, So

(12:32):
you know that's cute. The humor is not lost. I
think we're gonna have some really funny moments. I'm curious
to get your take though on this next headline. This
is me being super sleuth because she is an influencer
and a TikToker. She's putting on a lot of content
still while she's you know, filming, But I took some

(12:53):
screenshots of these Instagram stories because I thought they were interesting.
So she shot the book she's currently reading and a
screenshot of her playlist that she's listening to while she
is filming. So she's currently reading Emotional Intelligence Mindfulness by
Harvard Business Review. It is a collection of articles by

(13:16):
a number of authors and kind of The synopsis of
this book is it features smart, essential reading on the
human side of professional life from the pages of Harvard
Business Review. Each book in this series offers proven research
showing how our emotions impact our work lives. Practical advice

(13:36):
for managing difficult people and situations, and inspiring essays on
what it means to tend to our emotional well being
at work. Wow, that's a lot, and it makes me
want to ask you. I know it was a long
time ago. Do you remember what you were reading when
you were the Bachelorette?

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Nothing?

Speaker 1 (13:56):
I didn't have time to read. No, that's that's what
my comment was going to be, like, Oh, yeah, sorry, No,
I was. I was journaling because I wanted to write
down what was happening, my feelings, and that was kind
of like my therapy of going through it and having
someone to talk to. It was my journal. But yeah,

(14:19):
I feel like you rarely, rarely have time to read,
and I feel like when I read, I need for
it to be like all the things are done, you know,
things are crossed off my to do list. And not
that that ever happens, because the list is ongoing and constant,
but I feel like if there's things going on in
my life that I'm like, oh crap, I have to

(14:40):
do this and this and this and this and this
and this, and my brain is going crazy. I just
can't focus on reading. So good for her for reading.
If she's actually getting it done, because I don't know.
I don't.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
I would assume that most.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Bachelorettes are in the same boat that you just don't
have a lot of time. Well.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Her playlist that she shared is titled Airplace, and it
contains songs like Bruce Springsteen's I'm On Fire, Mazzie Starr,
Fade Into You, Fleetwood mac Landslide, and Morgan Wallins Cover
Me Up. So were you surprised at all when I
put these songs together, like just even bare minimum knowing

(15:17):
about her, did you think you know this was the
kind of music that she listened to.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
I mean, I don't. I don't really truly know.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
I wouldn't know because let's also talk about the fact
that I'm fifty three, and how old is she, like
twenty nine or twenty something.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
I wouldn't say she's thirty, thirty one, thirty one, Okay,
so we're twenty two years apart, and I don't.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
I mean, I know what my kids listen to, because
I'll hear the music here, but I don't. I wouldn't
have ever have guessed because I don't even know. I've
never heard of Fade Into You. Obviously, I know who
Fleetwood mac bost.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
You would know fade into you if I played it
for you, because it's a very nineties song.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Like, oh, that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Oh. I love that she's got these like kind of
like old school songs. No, I feel like, you know,
music is such a timely thing, Like there there are
phases that I go through in life where I'm like, oh,
I just want to listen to country music. Or Ryan
will be playing music in the background when he's cooking,

(16:28):
like that's his that's his thing. Yeah, and whatever will
come on and I'm like, oh my gosh, I haven't
heard this song in whatever. Or it's like rap songs
from that you know, like you know every single word too, from.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
The eighties or whatever.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Like I feel like the my phases I go through phases.
So I'm all for the fact that she's got these songs.
It's not a surprise to me. I guess is the answer,
because I feel like I wouldn't have known even what
to guess.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
You know me a little just because this last season
of Secret Lives, we saw them all go to stage coach,
so I kind of pegged her as a country music fan.
But now I remember, if she just went or if
she actually liked country music like I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
But interesting.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Nonetheless, that that is, and it's a public playlist if
anybody wants to go look for it.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Oh really interesting.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
I mean, those are great songs. I love Fleetwood Mac.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I mean, Landslide is an all time favorite.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
So good. Well, I think this next headline I need
to kind of break it down for you, just because
it's a little insider. For people that have watched the
season of Secret Lives, the most recent season, season three,

(17:49):
they will know this. But for anybody who doesn't, might
take a minute. So there is a TV show on Hulu.
It is called vander Pump Villa. It is a new
show for Lisa vander Pump and it takes place at
a villa with her staff. One of the key staff
members on the show is named Marciano. Now, not to
get two into the weeds, Secret Live Girls, they did

(18:09):
a crossover. They went and filmed on that show. Marciano
had some flirty interactions with two of the girls and
basically I won't get too much into it, but that
was the core drama of this season of Secret Lives
of Mormon Wives season three.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Oh okay, because they're all married.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Because they're all married, so great you there. So Marciano
this last week went on Harry Jowsey's podcast. Do you
know who Harry Joosi is?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
No?

Speaker 2 (18:41):
He from He is from season one of Netflix's Too
Hot to Handle, Total like breakout star from that show.
And so he has a podcast called boyfriend Material. He's
not boyfriend material. That's why it's called that understood. And
so you know, Marciana went on on Harry's podcast and

(19:02):
Harry said, you know, would you be going back on
Secret Lives and Mormon wives? And Marciano said, you know,
if there was a good storyline for me, but there's
no single women, so that would be tough. He then
goes on to say, Taylor is Dakota's ex, and I
like Dakota and plus I'm pretty sure they are still
hooking up, to which Harry said they were when I

(19:24):
was there, which Marciano then asks when was that, to
which Harry says before she went to go do the thing,
which Marciano says, he basically heard the same thing and
it was very recent, and he goes, yo, that's wild.
So they're inferring that Taylor and Dakota her ex were
hooking up right before she went to go film the Bachelorette. Now,

(19:48):
it's not far fetched if you've watched the show, because
even this last season, I said they went to Stage Coach.
They ended up hooking up at stage Coach, but we
saw during the re union that they were still on
really bad terms. So, and we know she's filming the Bachelorette.
So as somebody who's been in Bachelor Nation since basically

(20:12):
since the beginning, how frequent would you say it is
that somebody is rekindling with an ex or has somebody
in their life right before they go to filming.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
I don't know that I can say, like how frequent
is it? But what I can say is I don't
know that it's a good idea. You know, I would agree.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
With that, Yeah, if you are truly.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Looking for your forever person and want to be serious
about the Bachelorette and the opportunity there to meet your
forever person, then I don't know that hooking up with
an ex who you have children with is a good
idea because it just gets messy, you know, And even

(21:05):
if you didn't have children with them or a child
with them, I just feel like it's messy. You know,
if I we don't want to blur lines, you know,
you want to say, Okay, we're done with this relationship.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I'm moving on.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
I want to be able to focus all of my
energy on these guys who are you know, leaving their
lives for a time to come meet me and see
if we can solidify a relationship and if we're compatible.
And you know, I feel like some would say that
it's like disrespectful to the process if you're not fully

(21:39):
invested and serious. Mind you, this is Taylor's life and
it's what I encourage all women. My advice for anybody
who goes on the show is be yourself. And if
this is who she is, then this is who she is.
And if she has like feelings for her ex, and
or if it's not just feelings and she just feels

(22:01):
like she wants to have some intimate time with her ex,
then that's as an adult, that is her right, right.
But I feel like for any guy who is on
the show, hopefully they know maybe about the fact that
she does still have a physical connection to her ex,

(22:26):
and that's like something that I hope is addressed during taping.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yeah, as a as a longtime viewer as well as
somebody who has cast multiple dating shows in their career.
I can say that it's pretty common when it comes
to the contestant side. It's less common when it comes
to the lead. I think, like, yeah, the lead has
to go through a long process of talking with producers

(22:53):
over and over again, and they really producers and the
networks really try to suss this out. Yeahypical casting situation.
We've already said Taylor's not a typical casting situation. But
typically they do this because they don't want the integrity
of the show to be compromised and they don't like
the bad press that that could bring the show. But

(23:16):
it comes to contestants, there's usually only so much that
they can look into. But I mean, anybody that's watched
the show knows that usually you get you get one
per season where somebody comes out and says, I was
dmming with that guy, or I hooked up with him
right before he packed his bags. Same thing with girls
girls that go on The Bachelor, this happens as well.

(23:39):
So it is common, but more so, I would say,
on the contestant side than the lead side.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yeah, And I just don't think it's a good idea,
like if you're the lead, then be the lead and
be focused and.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Really go.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Like use your time wisely because these guys are giving
up their lives to come and meet you, and you
need to be focused. But you know, to each their own. Okay,
next headline and I think this will be the one
that we end on is so On Facebook, Taylor's ex's

(24:18):
sister in law was quoted, I believe, as posting something
in reference to what production has really been like for
Taylor as a single mom. She said that, oh, she
called out a fake article, which I'm just going to

(24:41):
take this beat to say, do not believe anything you
read on Facebook. I there's so many Bachelor Nation people
who are being drug through the mud with lies, lies
and more lies, including myself who I found out that
I was going to be a grandma on a Facebook
page that is related to the Bachelor to Bachelor Nation.

(25:05):
I feel like if you go on there, Jojo, they
constantly are talking about Jojo. They'll they'll get you with
a with a clickbait and say, oh, they're dealing with
this horrible situation or whatever, or they'll just say, oh,
Trista Sutter's going to be a grandma or Trista Sutter
has Alzheimer's. Oh my gosh. Anyway, so do not believe,
especially on Facebook. Be very careful with what you believe

(25:28):
when you read but when you read Facebook. But Dakota's
sister in law did say she was talking about a
fake article that was put out on Facebook, and she
went on to say that Dakota has been watching Ever,
the son they share Taylor and Dakota, while she's been filming.
She said that Dakota and Ever have been staying in

(25:49):
Idaho and Ever got to fly to see Taylor for
one day before the holidays. She stated that Taylor is
allowed to FaceTime her son when it allows. The post
says they will be in ut how the last few
weeks of the schedule, but until then, everything else is
being filmed in other locations. So we got some more
clarity in the comments of this video because Leanne, who

(26:13):
is Taylor's mom, set the record straight. She said that
Taylor has been able to see her three kids almost weekly.
She her mom, Taylor's mom has flown out many times
to locations for her to spend time with them, plus
she gets FaceTime calls. The kids had spent the other time,
mostly with their dads and sometimes her grandma or the

(26:34):
grandma has ever. So I feel like it's really hard.
Like I didn't have a child's during filming. I know
that like Emily Maynard could talk to this, but it's
got to be so Jason Mesnik had a child when
he was The Bachelor, and maybe we should have him
on to talk about this. But it's got to be

(26:54):
so hard because if you don't have a child, then
you can, happily, for me, cut off work, right. You
don't have to worry about work, you can't watch your
television shows, you can't be on email like you can
basically just like fully become vested in the process because

(27:18):
you can cut off all of your other worldly ties, right,
But you can't cut off your kids, you know, or
you shouldn't cut off your kids if you're a mom.
It's not fair to them. It's and I'm sure as
a mom, I wouldn't want to be cut off from
my kids. I need them in my life every day.
So that's got to be so difficult. And from what
I understood from the woman who was talking about this

(27:42):
on an Instagram post, she was talking about the Dakota's
sister in law's comments about the Facebook post, and she
was saying, you know that Taylor had gone into this
thinking that she would get more time, like production had
told her that she would get certain things, like certain

(28:03):
amounts of time that she could spend with the kids.
But it just hasn't happened or it hasn't turned out
that way. And knowing anything about television production, it's like
that phrase hurry up and wait, like you just never
know what's going to happen, right, so you have to
be on the fly. And even though I'm sure they

(28:23):
had very good intentions of Taylor seeing her kids more
than maybe she's seen them, I feel like it is
television and I guarantee you in her contract there was
there was something that was said like.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Whatever, whatever you're in.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Expecting, expect the unexpected, essentially, you know, like because things
change and we cannot guarantee that you're going to be
able to see your kids as much as you hope.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Probably, Yeah, And we had leanne On, you know a
little bit after the announcement of Taylor, and what he
was kind of saying is the older kids are obviously
in school, so they're the ones that are probably seeing
her the least because they have to stay on routine. Ever,
being a baby is probably the one that's getting the

(29:14):
more one on one time with her.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Now, I don't really think.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
That there's necessarily truth to this he didn't see her
for twenty days comment, because it seems like her mom
is uh, you know, clarifying that in the comments, So
we don't really know, but it sounds like face timing
is definitely happening.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Yeah, which is something that I feel like, Thank goodness
they have that capability because it's the next best thing
compared to, you know, being in person, so and it's
better than a phone call. So at least you get
to see each other face to face and she can
show ever like what's going on around her, so that
he's not, you know, worried about where mom is and

(29:57):
what she's doing. So I feel like that that's a
good second option. Of course, I know that as a mom,
I'm sure Taylor would much rather have her kids in
her arms and be able to see them face to face,
but at least they do have FaceTime.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah. Well, Trista, thanks so much for joining me on
this Franky Friday.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Thanks for having me. Did you feel it was so fun.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
You feel like you know Taylor a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
After this, I do.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
I feel like this is a great option for people
who don't watch Secret Lives and want to know more
about her instead of just putting it into Chat or
going on Google. So thank you Almost Famous.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Thanks Trista, You're the best. Hie Heather
