Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's time for the Almost Famous podcast. Yes, today we
have bachelor headlines and we have a friend of the podcast,
a friend to all, somebody admired in bachelor Nation. I
am talking about Ashley I Keneedti. Hello Ashley.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Nah, he's joking. We have around.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Rodney. Today, we're gonna do bachelor headlines. I'm sure you've
listened to the podcast every week, so you know how
this works. We're gonna break down the headline, we comment
on it. Sometimes we know nothing about these people, but
we get to get the details of their life going on.
The first headline I want to speak to a little
bit about and we're gonna speak to it later on
in more detail during a in depth interview with you,
which we cannot wait to do. It's gonna be posted

(00:48):
very soon on the Almost Famous thread is about your
your love life, Rodney. You and your girlfriend have moved
in together. It's getting serious?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Yes, yeah, we just recently moved in together a week
or so ago. So we've been dating for five months
and it's really been the best five months of my life,
clearly enough. So if it's gotten to that point. So
it's one of those things when you know you know.
So I'm really excited to talk about that and moving
all with my life.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
We cannot wait to dig into all the details of
this relationship again. That's going to be in the in
depth interview with Rodney. Now onto other people, Rodney, We're
not gonna talk about you the whole time yet. Bachelor's
Tea Booth, Mary's and romantic sexy wedding. I've never seen
sexy in a wedding. Oh put together, that's interesting, but Ben.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Grown sexy? Don't you You don't remember this because I
don't even think you watched back then? Can you remember
Rodney a little bit?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
A little bit?

Speaker 3 (01:47):
He's a longtime bachelor friend. Catherine made the biggest deal
about her and Sean's wedding. The theme grown sexy, which
I was like grown like plans like grow like I
just kept thinking like growing like something was growing. But
it was grown as a grown up sexy. That was

(02:09):
her theme, and throughout the whole wedding special, she kept
using this phrase and it was kind of like hilarious
because it was driving everyone crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I have never heard this before, so I guess sexy
is a part of weddings. He knows this. The quote
from Tia is I've waited a long time for this day,
Ashley breaking down.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
All right.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Well, their wedding had two hundred and twenty five people there.
They had their son there of course, and her her
fiancee now husband, Taylor, walked down the aisle holding him.
He turns one in December and it was at Diamond
Creek Farms in Nashville. Have you ever been there, Ben,
I haven't. No, have you heard of it?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
No? Oh? Okay, so I'm sure Jessica has. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So the overall vibe was, as you said, sexy and
romantic with mood of the Moody color scheme. It was
neutrals with black accents, Popova a champagne color, and gold
metallics they have. They had likes a lot of detail,
which I really liked. So her dad passed away in
February twenty twenty two, and they had multiple dedications to him.

(03:19):
They walked down the aisle. She walked down the aisle
to Drew Irwin, who I don't know. His cover of
look After You by the Fray and this was a
song that you know obviously it means a lot. It's
like a look after you. And they also when they
said who gives this woman to be married to this man,

(03:40):
everybody in the audience took a shot of tequila, which
was her dad's go to drink, which really sweet.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I really like that.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
They also exchanged handwritten vows. They said, we're already best
friends and made a commitment, a commitment to each other
as Tatum's parents, so we're excited to make things officially
in front of our friends and family. And they also
said that they were either going to a lope or
do it big, and that is something that I also
very much like. That was kind of like my thought

(04:09):
is like you either go really small or you go
really big. They did not want to do anywhere in
the middle. And then she had a dress change. She
wore long sleeves and high neckline when she walked down
the aisle.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
It's a really beautiful wedding, Rodney. This Uh, you know,
this stage in life, I think it feels like bachelination
is getting married or you know, the baby's are Really.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
There's a lot of marriages lately.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Remind us how many people has anybody been now married?
From your season?

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Uh? No, they have not. We have one guy.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
One guy who's actually getting married this weekend is Martin
from my season for Michelle's season.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
So it's been two years since your season aired. So yeah,
it's like now it's beginning to be like, Okay, you
had a year of dating, you had a year of planning,
you met eventually. Yeah, so it's kind of That's all.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I can think of right now. So not too many
so far, but I could feel that it's starting to
come along.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah, hey, Ben, Yes, guess who was the orchestra.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I'm going to imagine, imagine the Georgian con Orchestra. Yes,
of course they're the best.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
They're also a bachelor Nation's choice.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Now, yeah, Rodney, one day when you get married, I'm
just telling you right now, they are the absolute best
wedding band in the world. They are so good. Ashley
and I both had him at our wedding. So my
r next headline is this Teddy Wright gets a marriage
license with fiance Nicholas. All that's left to do is
get married.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
She says, this relationship has happened really fast, but it
seems like, you know, like you said earlier in the podcast,
when you know you know, So they announced their relationship
last December, and in April they got engaged and they
are getting married this weekend.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Rodney Any comments, that's really exciting for Teddy.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Like I said, I've sadly I've only met her once,
but I know how exciting this could be for her,
and the few times that we spoke and everyone that's
spoken about her saying it's the same thing.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
She knew pretty instantly.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
That this was going to be the man for her,
and it's nice to see that it's progressing so quickly.
So yeah, I'm happy for her. I know everyone's excited
for Teddy. And then side note on Tina and Taylor.
I just now remember that I was there at the
proposal last year with Becca while I was on tour
for Bachelor Live on same so it just it just

(06:37):
hit me. I'm like, oh my god, Like I was
there during that moment. I was trying to figure out
if it was the exact same date, but yeah, it
was out in Atlanta when we were on tour with Becca.
So it was a fun it was a very fun night.
But it's nice to see all this love and destination.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
That's so cool. That's that's awesome. What a deal I've
I've only seen two people get engaged in my life,
and it's both been kind of like surprised. It makes
me nervous, like I'm watching sometimes from a distance, not
knowing the people, and I'm like, I'm giddy and nervous
and anxious for that guy or that girl, because that
is one of the most intimidating moments of your life,

(07:13):
let me tell you.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
And Tia actually didn't know when she got proposed to
that she was also pregnant.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Well how about that surprise surprise? Hey, Rodney, this last
weekend we were at Chris Harrison's wedding.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
As she saw talking about it because I really want
to ask you to I was like, it looked like
a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, it was a blast. I'm telling we did a
whole breakdown that's now posting on a thread. But Rodney,
let me tell you, you know, you get it. Your
season of guys especially are very close and uh and
so when you you know, time happens, and relationships happen,
and life happens, and you start to don't see the
people as much, like really, you know, you still love

(08:02):
them and care, but you just don't see them as
much and so when you have like little reunions like
this years later, it is the most fun. Uh, it
is incredible. But there was this element, you know where
we anytime you go to a reunion, there's gonna be
people that have dated each other from the show before,
either via paradise or just from the seasons that happened.

(08:25):
And Jason Tartik and Caitlyn Bristow obviously were a very
popular couple in Bachelor Nation. They broke up, you know,
three months ago. It was it was a big deal.
It still is a big deal. They were both at
this wedding and here's the headline. We talked about it
again in detail during the breakdown, but the headline just
to to kind of revisit this subject. What is Jason
Tartik and Caitlin Bristow have a great reunion three months

(08:48):
after split.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
So basically, the audience, the fandom vaccination got to hear
from us. I'm sure they'll get to hear from Kaitlin
on her podcast, but they I saw it on Instagram
when she posted a picture of congratulations. Chris and Lauren
love this incestuous family so much. I told Chris I'm
gonna need three to five business days to cover from
the most perfect wedding of all time. I love Love

(09:13):
and Jason wrote in the comments, it was great seeing
u KB, and then she responded directly at him, great
seeing you two jt rip to the dance floor because
we all killed it.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
It was great, Rodney. They we talked about it, you know,
we were just all very impressed that they did it
the way they did it, Like they confronted it. They
made it awkward at like for like two seconds, and
then it wasn't for the rest of the weekend, which
was really just like I learned a lot from them.
I don't think I would have handled it the same way,

(09:49):
just because I'm probably a lot more immature.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
No, Ben, we all know they say that, but you
would have been amazing.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
But it was really special to see how just like
nice they made it and how much they focused on
Chris and Lauren's wedding. Well, this headline is super impressive
to me. We had Zach Clark on an episode a
few months ago talking about addiction. You know, the response
was really incredible from all of the listeners just who

(10:18):
have dealt with it or have a family member dealing
with it. Zach opened up share a lot of wisdom
and advice. Well He Joe Grocery Store. Joe, Matt, and
Matt James all ran the New York City Marathon this
last weekend. They had some incredible, incredibly impressive times. Ashley,

(10:38):
you know, I haven't read this breakdown yet who won
out of all of them? I know all of them
should be really proud of the times that they you know, well,
they just did it. I think they should be proud
of the fact that they just did it first, the
times that they had.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
I'm so curious as to what Zach's is. I don't
know that he announced it, and if he did, he
didn't announce it on his main feed. We only have
the numbers for Matt James and for Joe. Matt's was
a new personal best at three hours in I guess
three hours and four minutes.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
That's great.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
And then Joe got three hours in fifty eight minutes
and he ran with clothes with Zach for Zach's Foundation
Release Recovery, which if you guys listen to our podcast
with him, he talked all about it's a nonprofit dedicated
to ensuring that all who are ready and willing to
seek professional treatment for substance abuse are able to just

(11:37):
don't know, just don't know what Zach got, But I
feel like Zach is just like a professional runner for
some reason. And I'm sure he got a very impressive score.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yeah, I'm doing a little quick math here. It feels
like some Matt James ran somewhere around a seven to
ten mile on average for the whole thing. To go
to three or four, that's incredible.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yeah, Rodney, have you done a marathon?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
I haven't. I was just talking with my girlfriend about
it recently.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
I'm like, I got to build myself up to get
to that level because that just takes so much discipline.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
But I love it, especially from those three. I'm like, man,
I love it. Lead the way.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, I need you know, I'm thirty four. I need
something in my life to push me to do something
good for myself. And I feel like a marathon is
kind of like always staring me in the face, and
I just have a hard time getting my mind wrapped
around running that far for that long.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
My boggling. Everybody who listens to this podcast knows that.
Like I go on a buy monthly rant about how
I have no idea how people do this impressive.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
It's so crazy to me. But one day, Ben, one day,
we're gonna do one.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
You know, I just did the Malibu Traathlon. It's a stree,
it's still it's still really fun, and it's still you know,
you train for and everything. But I showed up and
there are some guys that are in some recent seasons
of The Bachelor there and it was really great. I
didn't know they were going to be there. I kind
of saw him at the end, but I was like,
how cool would it be if the people interested in

(13:06):
doing a trathlon or a marathon or something that from
the Bachelor world all we said, Hey, let's hold each
other accountable and go do it. I think it would
be fun. So maybe one day, Rodney, I can see
you at the finish line at one of these events
and we can celebrate together. Yeah, we need to do it. Pushed.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I found Seed's time.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
What is his time?

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Three hours and forty one minutes in sixteen seconds, so
he place his right in between the two guys.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
I mean, that's so good. I have a feeling Zach
is like a very rhythmic runner. I don't think he's
out there to like win the race. I think He's
out there to do it well and have fun with it.
Zach's a good runner. He's like a part of the
New York Legs. Yeah, Matt's If you look at Matt,
I mean, he just looks like a dude that could
run like five minute miles for seven hours.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
These guys are athletes, athletes.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Leslie Murphy welcome a second baby, girl, Lily James. And
she says this, this is a big comment. Fam is
now complete.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Mm hmm, yeah, she said, famous complete. Everybody's over the moon.
Lily James was born on November two, said thanks for
all the prayers and well wishes. We're all doing great.
And you know we have Bachelorination chiming in with all
their congrats. Tenley, Sarah Herron, Claire Crawley, Raven really really

(14:28):
happy for them. Congratulations and yeah, families complete. That's all
I'm gonna feel after our seconds born too. Okay, we're done.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
You're gonna make are you gonna make Jerry get the
snip snip?

Speaker 3 (14:40):
I don't know. I've been thinking about that recently. But
I also hear like horror stories from horror stories, quote
quote from where people are like like somehow the opening
like opens up a few months later and you're pregnant again.
So I'm like, I don't know, I like beyond birth
control because my my I like to block out all
those our bones. My skin loves breath control.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Oh goodness, Well, good for Jared. I guess this headline
is really sweet. And we have gotten to see the
Golden Bachelor episode this week, Rodney, and I will say

(15:26):
that this story, this headline kind of comes full circle
once you watch this week's episode, but we're gonna say
it anyways because I think it's a great tease to
then go into the Golden Bachelor here later this week
the Golden Bachelor, Susan discusses Chris Jenner comparison and if
she's heard from Chris now. Rodney, first question is, have

(15:47):
you been watching The Golden Bachelor?

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Sadly, I have not.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
All my friends have gotten on my case saying I
need to watch it because it's so good last season's ever.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Well, it's a quick watch, like you can basically be
caught up with five Like if you just like have
an off day, just five hours and you're done.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
I'm gonna have to binge it later tonight.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah, it's really good, but Susan is a really lovable
character who you know is no longer on The Golden Bachelor.
Gary did send her home. But she looks just like
Chris Jenner and has like a very big, bubbly personality,
And so that's where this is coming from. She's been
getting tons of comparisons. So Ashley, what does she say?

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Yeah, So she says that Chris has not reached out yet,
even though Chris is a vocal fan of the Bachelor franchise.
She said that for thirty years, wherever she goes, Atlantic City,
the Bahamas, Italy, somebody has said it, but she's never
been asked for an autograph. She also says it'd be
a dream come true to meet her. And this is
where I think it gets really funny. She goes, I
think I remind people of her because of my short,

(16:47):
dark hair and when I wear makeup. She goes, and
poor Kathy is getting Caitlyn. But Caitlyn does look fabulous
right now. Kathy and Susan have really been leading into
the whole Haitlin and Chris thing on social media. It's
like a big joke. And then even Kathy said, Susan

(17:07):
and Kathy we became great pals during the filming, call
us Chris and Caitlin. We are friends and we love
being Golden. So even even Kathy is leaning into it.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
And again there is a teaser this week where I
think I could say Christianer may just make an appearance.
Oh really, Bachelor, So everybody can stay tuned to that.
That is not ruining anything, but you could just be
excited about the idea that Christian or just may be
making an appearance.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
I love how no matter how big Chris Janner gets,
because I just do feel like she gets more and
more epic every year, she still is a loyal Bachelor friend.
She still finds time for the franchise during her week somehow.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Why not? Why not? It's great. I hosted a show
with Christianer once the after show, she came to show
ye n for the whole show. And then Kim was
there in like the dressing rooms.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Life Kim in the back because I went there, they
let me to go a little, me go in the
crowd because they're like, you.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Know, noam, I think I remember that I've met him
all somehow. But yes, it was wild. It was like
the whole face like it was a very weird moment
to like see the family operate, not with cameras in
their face, because they were like just a very nice family. Okay,
this is a huge headline. I saw this posted I

(18:26):
think like us Weekly kind of shared this this week,
and I was confused by this headline because for for
most of the season, I believe they are best friends.
They were so close and I really have no backstory
to this. So Ashley, I'm very excited or interested. I
guess not excited. This is sad headline. I'm interested And

(18:47):
if you know anything more than I do, or maybe
you do, Rodney, I don't know. The headline's this why
Caitlin Bristow says Dancing with the Stars pro Alan Bernston
won't speak to her.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Okay, so she was on Cheryl Burke's podcast on November sixth,
that episode and she said that when she last went
to the Dancing with the Stars set, still won't talk
to her. Says, he walked right past me on Dancing
with the Stars. He won't call me back, and I
profusely apologize on my podcast. And she says, apologize on
our podcast because she's obviously trying to get in touch

(19:21):
with them and apologize in a more personal way. But
so what happened was back in September, she said on
her podcast, she goes, well, she said Alan's a dick,
but then she's trying to She defends what she was
saying and gives a little more context to it on
the podcast, with Cheryl saying that, like, I started describing
how each of each one of them, in my opinion,

(19:44):
were in the ballroom. You know what their general are is,
And I said, you know, Alan's like he's really going
to push you. He's kind of a dick. And then
I said, actually, Ardam will really push you. Actually they're
all kind of dicks, but lovable dix. Alan again is
one of my closest friends out of the whole show.

(20:05):
So I'm just like, can you please pick up my
phone call? But he will not respond, not talk to me.
It's sad. So I don't know whether I'm assuming for
him to not talk to her, he must have like
actually gone and listened to the original podcast episode and
heard the contact and maybe he still didn't like it.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Here's the deal, here's a question for you. Running you're
offended by something somebody says, it happens, you know, I'm
a very sensitive, insecure soul, and so people can say
things and it like stabs me fairly often. In fact,
it just happened last night. I just called my buddy.
I was like, what would you think if somebody said
this to you? And he was like, yeah, that's just

(20:48):
you know, kind of a jerk. It's something to say.
So if somebody says something publicly, like on a podcast
about you, like, hey, Rodney is a really tough coach.
He is really mean, but he's a lovable mean, you
know that kind of thing, and they go to podcasts
and say it, would it make you want to reach
out to them more or less? Like do you think

(21:10):
Caitlin's speaking about this public and saying, hey, now you
know writing won't even pick on my phone calls. Would
that make you want to say, hey, it's time to
settle this or say no, I'm not diving into the
deep end.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
That's a great question. Honestly, I'd probably say less because
at that point that person can reach out to me.
I'm I obviously we're we're human beings, so I can
be sensitive at times too, but I know that I'm
more so of a you know, I'll forgive but I
won't forget. And it's just like, hey, if you said
something about me, please address it to me face to

(21:42):
face instead of you know, going on podcasts and stuff
like that. So yeah, I'm just one of those people
where if something said about me, just address it with
me and we'll take care of it.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
And I'll you know.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
I'll definitely still forgive, but it's like I can't forget
that you said something and spoke on my character when
most people who know me wouldn't say that about me.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
If if that, yeah, Ashley, what about you?

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Yeah, I don't know. This is a tough situation. It
would all be about the tone eventually, Yeah, it's it's
got to be about the tone. And if they're like
really close friends, I would imagine that the tone couldn't
have been too serious. I would probably be like he
didn't Yeah, I know that's what I mean, And I
don't know. I would probably be like what why did

(22:28):
you do? Why did you call me that? Like what
that's really that's so weird. I would be like, that's
like kind of just like weird that you said that,
and then I'd probably let it go.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah. Well, and I think knowing Caitlyn like Caitlyn is
the thing we all love about her, but the thing
that gets her into trouble is she and why she's
a great podcast. So she is an open book, like
she just says what's on her mind. She says it
and then, like I bet ninety nine percent of time
after a podcast she's like, goodness, gracious, I probably I
shouldn't have said that. Yeah, Like it's just the way

(22:58):
she is. Yeah, she means anything by it, but he
he must have taken offense to it. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
That's what.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
You gotta say something pretty bad to get me like that,
mad or, I'm not going to talk to you.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
And was this her partner on Dancing with the Star Noka.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
It wasn't. I thought it was so Ardam was her partner.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, but she calls Artam a dick too in the
original podcast.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Maybe nobody's talking to Kaitlin. I don't know. We we all.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Love Jason's talking to Kaitlin.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Yeah, yeah, she's back in the game again. We all
love Kaylin. I love that she's wildly outrageous and says
stuff all the time. Uh okay, that's all the headlines
we have for you today. Rodney again. You're coming back
for an in depth episode. We're going to talk about
your love life. We're going to talk about all the
things going on in your life. We're going to talk
about the football season that I enjoyed following via social media.

(23:49):
We got a lot to catch up with you on
The Lovable Rodney will be back for an in depth episode.
But until that episode, and until next time, I've been.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Ben, I've been Ashley Rodney.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
