Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Hey guys, it's the almost famous podcast. It is me solo,
but not really because I am joined here by two
lovely men, Jonathan Johnson and Justin Glaie, two of my
favorite guys from recent Bachelor history. Of course, you guys
are kind of like you're in the class above me,
like far above me. I guess like you we didn't
(00:26):
go to high school at the same time, basically yeah,
and like we've met to say, yeah, nothing but great
things society. So we were actually supposed to have Grant
on the podcast with you guys, supposed to be like
a trio, but since he's not here and it was
it was a late cancel. I do want to ask
(00:48):
his question because it was the juiciest question of the
entire podcast to you guys, and you can just have
fun with it. So Juliana went on a Bachelor Happy
Hour the podcast this week, and she said that the
day after after the final rows, after their finale, that
they exchanged some words that were hurtful, and the next
(01:08):
morning he actually had like a game plan for publicly
announcing their breakup. Did you guys hear about this.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
I think that was on the headline. Well yeah, but
I will say I was there, like at their party,
like the night after, and they they looked happy. They
books can be deceiving, they can't be deceiving, and that's true.
And I was, but I was gassing her up. But
I was like, yeah, it looks so great together. Blah
bla blah. She seemed like stoked about it.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
This is after you guys got off stage, like after
the audience.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
This is when we went to that, you know, like
the celebration party that they hold for the winners winters. Yeah,
we were there all together with her family, Like everybody
was stoked there, like we love Grant blah blah blah.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I think they got into the fight right after that.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Do we know what the fight was about.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
No, we don't really specifically, but he was ready to
break up and make it official publicly that soon after.
So I kind of wanted to know what happened that night.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
I know, I kind of wish she was here to
explain himself.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
I know, Well, next time. So, justin the last time
we saw you, you were basically leaving Paradise. You and
Susie had obviously had so much love between the two
of you, and I was kind of like rooting for
(02:30):
a reconciliation. I was like, there's they're just there's something there.
What is your relationship status these days?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Oh? I'm single? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Would would Would Jonathan ever be allowed to date Susie?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Absolutely the not.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I don't even have to answer that one. That's a
crazy question.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
So you guys are really tight, right.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yes, you know that's my boy. That's my boy.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, okay, good? Well, so who from Bachelor Nation justin
would you see Jonathan with?
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Ask me do that's a good question.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
I've as I like to ask the hard questions right
off the top for for Jonathan.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, this is a good one. This is a good one.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
So it's it's it's tough to say because I haven't
met a ton of them in person, and I don't
like to go by just what you see, like either
on the screen or on social media and whatnot. But
I can describe what I think Jonathan would want and
need in a person, and then maybe that could kind
(03:45):
of brew up some some names.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Now I think she wants that's not that I think
I think she wants the juicy. I think she wants
a name.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I don't know an she don't know any girls that
you think you would like to set up Jonathan want
me he wants to be set up with Lynd Bristow.
But I told her that every time. I'm just sure,
so he asked.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
He asked her, Oh, it's like always a bit if.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Everything.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I was about to say, I'm way off, just when
you think you know the guy.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Before we hit record, Jonathan was telling me that he
likes a girl who's calm, cool, and collected, okay herself.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Any of those that's what you see, Okay, okay, okay,
But he likes he needs a little spice too. That
is true. He needs someone that can go deep but
also keep he's very confident in herself.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Well, she's like cool, like she's obviously very cool, and
she's not calm, and she's usually not collected. And I
say this as a friend, a good friend, a ten
year long friend.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
I can see you with a well, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
I haven't had enough conversations, but I think in terms
of like the Caitlin side of things, that girl Carolina.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Oh please have you guys met before? I obsessed with
this idea because okay, you're just friends you have before?
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Friendly?
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Interesting see my favorite words, that's crazy, that's my boy
loves a friend. That my boy loves a friend.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I'm just I'm just picky.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Is it safe to say that Carolina and Jonathan may
have made at once?
Speaker 3 (05:45):
No, that not safe to say.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's not safe to say, safe to say. Squiggly guys
like he's like just wiggling all about right now. I
just say that I could see you guys together because
Carolina was on our podcast and I think she's we're
talking about Joe Jonas and you have a Joe Jonas look.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Is that true? I could see that.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Yeah, it's definitely.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
That's a beautiful man. I'll take that.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
He has great taste in men too. This is Jonathan's
a winner here. So all right, we'll go to some
more serious questions.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Now, they don't make me friends on any more people.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Please, Okay, Well, actually we have to reciprocate the question. So, Jonathan,
since Justin is single, we also need you to pick
somebody for Justin that we all know.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Good.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Look, it's gotta be somebody like. He's funny, like funny
as hell is. They got to match his funny. I
don't know if I've met anybody that's like a funny
girl yet where I'm like, no, you make me like
belly laugh, you know what I mean, like somebody that
could keep up with his wit. And I genuinely don't
(06:53):
know if I've met any girl in fascinations like that.
Well that's hilarious, but I don't think him and Laya
would work.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Okay, So if you could revisit your time in Paradise
with anybody else in that cast and justin let's just say,
in both of your Paradise casts, who would you ask
on a date that you didn't.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
First time or second time?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I said, for you could be there?
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Oh uh, honestly, well, let's go to the most recent one.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I did exactly what I wanted to do. I mean,
when I came.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
In, obviously I had the date card, so I kind
of was able to pick whoever. I really can't think
of anyone from either cast that I would have wanted
to pursue that I didn't try to or she's just.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Saying like, just take on a date, though, like I
feel like, yeah, I think he.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Doesn't even have to be like super hot and steaming,
like I think.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
I would have loved to take Legs on a date.
But I don't think I'm her type, but I think
it would have been a fun, good date. Yeah, no, yeah,
I feel that. I mean, I really can't think of anyone,
like even some of you just have fun with, like
like dude, watching you and Leg on a date would
be hilarious. I was gone by that time, I know,
(08:16):
but that's not what she's saying.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Is hypothetical. This is totally hypothetical of the entire cast.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Day.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Okay, we're gonna move on.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
It is totally okay. Now it's okay. I understand brain
fog when it comes to remembering April.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
You can take my girl April on a date that
would have been yeah. Faith.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
So it's it's the holiday season and these podcasts are
slightly holiday themed, and I wanted to know, is there
anything that you enjoy about being single at the holidays?
Is there anything that's better.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Just talked about this, We're like, do we just want
to date somebody just so we can enjoy like the
like the craziness about the literally last time.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
We are pretty fortunate to get some coo opportunities to
travel and get invited to stuff and I'm like, man,
it would be really nice to like go to these things,
enjoy the experiences with somebody, and then go home cuddle
up with.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Some hot chocolate. I'm saying, watch a movie like that.
Answer is no.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
To say, I don't think I miss a single thing
about being single or on the holidays. It used to
be a time where I would get super stressed about
the fact that I was single. I was like, oh
my gosh, another Christmas and I'm single, And then I
would sing like the Britney Spirits Christmas song just thinking
about how I wanted to like have a boyfriend for Christmas.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I think that, I will say, though, the one thing
that is probably nice when I look back on this
is being able to go to all the holiday things
I want versus like having to like do my personal
things too. Yeah. If there's something where I'm like, oh,
I want to go to this, I get to go
to this. I can in whatever capacity I want. I
have that freedom to do that.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Would I prefer to go like bring my person to
all those things, for sure, but like being able to
go all the things that I want selfishly in this
time of life. Looking back on it, I'll probably be like, damn,
that was nice for a little bit.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
You don't have a small talk with people that you
don't really know.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
On her side, yeah, but I also love meeting new
people though, So it's so you're so sweet.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
All right, Well, this is such a service level question.
But do you guys have anything on your Christmas list?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
My mom asked me the same question Christmas. Really, yeah,
I feel like now it's crazy. I I'm not answering
any of your.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Questions directly, but it's okay justin I feel like I'm
at the age now where it's like, or within the
past couple of years, it like has switched where now
I'm like asking my parents like what do you want
and getting them a bunch of stuff and I'm like,
I'm good, I don't need anything.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I kind of buy myself whatever. And yeah, I'm like
I could get it, but now I'm let me pay
it forward and whatever you guys want. I'm more excited
about hearing from you what's on your list? Yeah, than
to like, I don't you know? Yeah, I say for me,
anytime I feel like there's something I want to buy,
like right now, I'm like, oh, should I need to
buy this? Like I just broke my Apple Watch, and
I was like, ash, I should probably tell my mom,
(11:18):
like I need that. I ended up just buying because
I needed it quick. But like Apple watches on there,
I'm a big watch guy, regular watch shoes, like hats.
I don't know. I love experiences. Give me a spot
a I'm down for a good spot.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Just the experience gifts for me as an adult and
especially from family. I feel like so my parents usually
give us money, but I was recently thinking, like debating,
should I ask for like an experienced gift that I
wouldn't necessarily buy for myself because when she does, you know,
when my mom and dad give me money, then I'm like,
you know, I save it or it goes to whoever.
You know, like life and.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
What experience would.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
You should I ask her for like three months of pilates,
unlimited pilates glasses instead of like the money that I
probably wouldn't put towards.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I like that, Okay, I like that. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
So now that you said that, you're excited about asking
what your parents want? What do your parents want? What
do you plan on getting them? I don't think they're gonna.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Want so my mom just said, I was just home
for Thanksgiving, and she wants a new kitchen table.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
And so we were at the end. My mom's got
she got good taste, she got expensive taste, and.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
So she's the one where she's like always wanted to
like renovate and do new things, and my dad's kind
of like, we don't need that. And so she had
a laptop up and kind of like perusing this site
and looking at kitchen tables, restoration hardware. It was our house,
our age, and she was like was like, yeah, like
(13:00):
I would really like this, blah blah blah, but like
I don't know if your dad's going to go for it,
so I might get in the kitchen table.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Oh my gosh, that's a shit. That's a good one.
It's a really good one. Yeah, I know. Well all right,
all right, So then Jonathan, what do you what do
you hoping to get your parents?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
My dad's a simple creature. He doesn't really need much creature.
He just we're member, we're creatures, h all of us. Honestly,
I could just get my dad like a new pair
of shoes, and he's cool, Like if I spent money
on him, he would like not appreciate like he would
be more upset that I spent the money than he
would appreciate that I got it for him. God, that
(13:39):
makes sense.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
That's like my dad too, except for my sister and
I are debating whether or not we should get my
dad tickets to see the Eagles at the Sphere because
he's been saying, oh, I want to do like and
he never says I want to do something or if
I want to travel. It's just like not my dad.
But he actually like has been asking my mom if
she would go. But here's the thing, my mom, It's like,
I'm not traveling across the country for a concert. And
(14:04):
I tried to convince her that like a concert at
the Sphere is definitely experience.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Would they like enjoy the rest of what Vegas has
to offer, like with the gamble a little bit?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
They would go to dinner and my dad would play
like a little something. My sister just got married in
Vegas and in April, so they were kind of just there.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
You have to see it, Adele, that would be sick
who I see?
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I want to bring my dad to the backstree Boys,
because I'm definitely going to the Backstreet at the Sphere again.
I don't. I don't know exactly when, but that's something
I've been like Dad. When I was there at that show,
I was thinking my dad would lose it, like he
would think this would be the coolest thing ever. My
dad like just really likes like technology and visuals and stuff.
So I've been wanting to take him back to Backstreet
(14:46):
and then he's like, no, I want to see the Eagles,
not Backstreet, And I'm like, well, Eagles are his favorite band.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
But it'd be a good one. I like that.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah now blah blah blah. Yeah, So he's got to
figure out who's going to go with him. I mean,
I would definitely love to. Oh it's just like how
many concerts can Ashley travel? For a lot? Apparently not enough.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
On the flip side of that, my mom My mom
just likes time like she's an experienced girl. If I'm like, hey,
I got us a spot A and Sedona, her world
would crumble before She'd be like, oh my god, we
need to like go do this together. I'd be like yep,
and would that would be her best gift ever?
Speaker 2 (15:21):
I think bring your son to the SPA day.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
That's honestly, I don't think she cares what it is like.
She would love to go like ATVing too, Like if
I got ATV experience, she'd be like, yes, let's go
do ten foot jumps and I'd be like, can you
get bigger balls than I do? But yeah, let's do.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
It, like Okay, Well, guys, thanks for joining me. Have
the best time at jingle Ball, and until next time,
I've been Ashley, I've.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Been Jonathan perfect, and I've been.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Just thanks weird.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
