Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with on our radio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's Almost Famous Podcast. We're here to break down episode
three of Bachelor and Paradise, the horniest episode ever to me,
put on family friendly television. Ashley, you have a lot
of thoughts about this episode.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Well, I really liked the episode, but the word horny,
I've never liked it, Like even when I figured out
what it meant in seventh grade, I was like, Oh,
I don't like this word. I don't know. It's like
visual like to me, I feel like I could like
see somebody actually like turned on, like I can see
their privates. All right, Yeah, I like it, not into
the word because I just feel like, yeah, it's like

(00:45):
a lot. So definitely you're.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Kind of blushing. Does it make you blush when you
hear it?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
No, I like, I think it's actually like a I
don't like it. It's a gross, like cheap way of
saying turned on.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
It's like how some people uh to moist. Yeah, it's
like kind of like the same visual, same idea.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I get it. Ashley. You started out here just a
second ago saying you have a lot of thoughts in
the episode as do. I let's dive into it. You know,
we're gonna start it out talking about this Justin and Susie.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Situation, which did you see breaking news? Yeah, they just
went back and forth on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So I think the only way to accurately cover what
happened actually in Paradise, and if somebody wants to know how,
I believe. I don't know anymore, but I would believe
that the show is still fairly unscripted. It's all unscripted,
but it is definitely produced. This is a good example
of it because we're getting a behind the scenes glimpse

(01:49):
ashlely as you pull up the text conversation or the
Instagram conversation that Lexi and Justin have had publicly first
all to witness here just recently. I want to say this,
I think the show made a massive mistake here. I
don't understand what the show is doing. I am getting
more invested into Paradise, but I do want to talk

(02:10):
to you for a second before we talk about Justin
Suzie LEXI that I think the show has missed the mark.
And if I was in production, and I think the
product producers of the past would have made sure this
never happened. I don't know why these contestants that are
coming to the beach are not given necessarily opportunity to

(02:32):
connect with anybody. It feels impossible to come to the
beach and to make any sort of real connection, to
stick around at all. My second thought to that is,
it wouldn't matter as much if it wasn't Susie. Susie
is one of the reasons I wanted to watch Paradise
or Justin's dynamic for the next few weeks on how
they navigated being a couple, breaking up publicly, being beloved

(02:57):
by so many us, being around them, loving them, thinking
they're both great and really get together. Uh, and then
both being on the beach, which feels like a home
run for the show to get feels like a home
run to convince them both to show up again. And
now Susie's gone after a few short scenes and moments.
And even in those short scenes and moments, she created

(03:19):
a story that we will talk about for the rest
of the season. How did they let her go go
home so fast?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
It is so weird. My only thought is that something
went awry and they figured it out like they wanted
him to give Susie the rose and then they and
Susie did look flabbergasted that he decided to do that.
My thought was that maybe you know, you know, guys,
when we speak about this, we're talking about how it's

(03:45):
like high level produced where it's like they have a
plan but like some but sometimes like they can't go,
like their plan just doesn't work out. So I think
that what production wanted to happen was that Susie did
except Justin's rose, and then the two of them would
have stayed in Paradise together and we would have continued

(04:07):
to see relationships happen between the two of them and
between the you know, between the two of them and outwardly.
I my favorite parts of this whole week were the
conversations between Justin and Susie, because there are between two
people that knew each other so deeply and you could
tell love each other so deeply.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I still think Justin's in love with Susie. I don't
know how she feels about it.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Actually I don't know, no, but I have heard that
Susie is the heartbroken one in this relationship, that he
was the one that broke up with her again. I
don't even remember the source so it might just be
total hearsay and watching the show, I also interpreted it
like she was the heartbroken one you thought otherwise, or

(04:52):
you just still think that he's in love with her.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I just think I think it just based on life.
I guess I'm not like pulling back moments from the show.
I could be completely wrong there. Either way, this was
a storyline to keep me watching every week. I'm going
to keep watching every week. It's not like I don't
like the show, but this was a storyline I was
going to be excited to fall along with. It's one
of those that you kind of engross yourself in, yeah,

(05:16):
and say, how does this get navigated? Where did they
end up? Do they rekindle something or are they okay
watching each other date side by side. Those are the
kind of things that I'm so intrigued by in Paradise,
and I think we lost the greatest moment for that
between Justin and Susie.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yeah, I'm not going to give myself like the whole
like wow, I had a great storyline, but Jared in
my storyline was obviously interesting because we had had a relationship,
a friendship relationship what everyone call it off camera? Same
with Kendall and Joe that was so interesting, dominated the
storylines in that Bachelor of Paradise four years ago, and

(05:56):
now we had this opportunity to have a couple that
was apparently together for longer than we even a new
interact on the beach together. It was super disappointing to
see both of them leave, even if just one of
them stayed, even if it was just Susie. I couldn't
believe as she left that. I was like, you're gonna
let a prior winner leave like this, like you're golden girl,

(06:21):
like she was supposed to be their golden girl.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
To me, Yeah, there's no way they should have let
her go. I mean, old production would have just said, like, hey,
all of a sudden, Jesse comes out with one extra rose,
and it's like, hey, we just want to give it
to you.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Oh I love my girl, Jil, right, I love Jill.
But what I thought what was gonna happen there was
that Jesse was gonna come out with a rose for
both Susie and Lexi.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
And say, hey, this is obviously not over. Jesse explains
that there hasn't been enough time to form this relationship, right,
there's no rules in Paradise, and so the show has
decided to let them both stay for another week, and
we kind of see how this is going to go.
I would have loved I know it would have and
I think Bachelor Nation misses those kind of no rules

(07:05):
moments where like, hey, that seems unfair, but I.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Love it exactly, Like I just want my favorites to
stay around at the end of the day, Like, yes,
is that producy? Yeah? But sometimes maybe like we're being
hypocrites right now because we're actually telling them what we
wanted them to step in and like produce the show
a bit.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Right. And then with Justin, well, let's talk about this
online drama between Justin and Lexi. Okay, so I'm not
gonna read it word for word because it's pretty thick,
like they went back and forth quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, just break it down for it.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, they're arguing that she's saying, you were you know,
exactly who I thought you were. You weren't in it
for me, you still had things for Susie. I was
in the right to have my guard up with you.
And then Justin is explaining himself like he's like, I'll
read justin initial because then and then I'll be able

(08:02):
to sum up better.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Let's be clear here, So this is happening on Instagram.
It's happening on a post that Justin made about this
last episode of the show. It just came out recently.
Lexi then responded to Justin's post and Justin re responded
back to her, followed by Lexi responding back and Justin
finally responding back. It's been a back and forth publicly
for us all to see. This is not something that

(08:25):
you couldn't look up yourselves, but we're here to save
you time on your drives, right and break it down
for you.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Okay, So he said I had no intention to lead
anyone on. I was very intentional with who I pursued,
but unfortunately the same interest was not reciprocated for days
where I was and then informed that this person didn't
have interest in dating somebody that lived outside of where
she lived, and she was I was unsure that we
wanted the same things out of life. This conversation wasn't

(08:54):
shown as well as me as as well as telling
me to pursue other women. So Lexie apparently told him
that as she wanted to pursue other men prior to
ending things with me. Yes, I will get I totally
give Justin credit here. I didn't think Justin look at
a bad guy at all. I think Justin looked like

(09:15):
such a good guy. He's the kind of guy that
you'd want to marry. That's what I thought watching this.
So when I saw this conversation, and sorry, I'm just
interrupting the reading right now, but when I saw his excuse,
you know that he was trying to defend himself on Instagram,
I was like, oh, lots of people out there didn't
think that that was the gentlemanly good thing to do. Interesting,

(09:38):
how like, so people can interpret it in different ways anyway.
Continuing the conversation before the rose ceremony was the first
time I received any sense of interest from her. I
found it concerning that of all the reservations from less
than twenty four hours earlier were no longer there just
minutes before we lined up for the rose ceremony. She's like, oh,

(10:00):
by the way, like, uh okay, see, no right. I
chose to self sacrifice for someone I deeply care about
rather than take the chance of continuing to pursue someone
who I didn't feel genuinely was interested in me. I
hope you can understand it was a difficult situation for
all parties to navigate. Okay, Then Lexi goes on to

(10:21):
basically say, what you're saying is simply not true, and
you know it, so comes out with a bomb, a
bomb that in which to be honest. Maybe it's because
I'm friends with Justin and I've never met Lexi, but
based on what I saw and based on the person
that I know, I'm definitely a team Justin. Here she's
saying that, like you should. She goes, I suggest you

(10:45):
reflect on how you show up in that space because
this narrative isn't it. I won't let you twist my
words or rewrite my truth. We both know the reality
of what happened. I hope you take the time to
grow and heal. I'm sorry, but to me, from the

(11:05):
past seven hours of footage that we've watched, and yes,
I know not everything is there, but it seemed to
me that she was extremely hesitant over him. Seems as
if she basically said, we're no longer continuing this until
we saw that that conversation that happened before the Rowst

(11:26):
ceremony in which she said, you know, she gave him
a kiss. She seemed a little more interested in I know, Ben,
your take, well.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I don't think you use platitudes like I hope you
take time to grow and heal.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
That is a massive just punch, really, I think the
punch of this is more so when she says, I
won't let you like basically describe this narrative because it's
not accurate.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
None of that's personal until the very and the personal
in the very end is you as a person need
to grow and heal. If I told you that, Ashley,
or if I just confronted you and said, hey, don't
twist my words, you would take a lot more offense
to me saying, you know what, actually, best of luck
to you. I hope you grow and heal and become
a better person, because right now you suck.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
She goes further. She goes wishing you clarity and accountability
on that path. Please don't share my story or use
my words that are simply not true. And then he
responds by basically saying, you told me that you that
you are in la justin growing your business. I'm in
Atlanta growing mine. I have no plans of leaving I'm

(12:43):
not sure we even want the same things out of life.
That is what she said to him within twenty four hours,
is what he's saying, And he says luckily cameras were
present for the conversation. In the cameras caught footage that
will never be aired unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, I mean, okay, a few things take away from
this one. I don't think Justin's times on Paradise have
been great for him. He should probably retire from Paradise.
I like Justin, I like hanging out with him. He's
a great guy. He's really funny, he's very charismatic. He's
a very handsome gentleman. Paradise never seems to be his spot.
It just doesn't seem to work, and I don't know why.

(13:22):
I can't even explain why. My second thought to this
is that I am enjoying out of all of this
and all the issues that I have that Susie left
so early and not really knowing how the Lexi and
Justin conversation went. You can get on Instagram, you can
dive into this for yourself. What I do appreciate about
this season so far is we are at this point,

(13:43):
like barely two plus episodes in and we have a
relationship already causing drama. Amazing for this show. Amazing that
the show, somehow, in this very packed environment at a
very isolated resort, cultivated some type of relationship that is

(14:03):
causing some type of drama. It could have been. I
was worried that this season of Paradise would feel so
light the whole time, where we would never have a
connection made, or if we did, it felt very lucy,
goosey and flighty and never really committed to. Already we
have a fight. Hey, not an advocate of fights, not

(14:23):
an advocate for either side here, but a big advocate
that people care. And it shows me that both Lexi
and Justin cared, and Justin cared. Also about Susie. I
understand where his thought process is at. If Lexi and
Justin didn't have something deep, then he's saying, I would
much rather see Susie stick around out of the goodness

(14:46):
of my heart. I don't know if it was his
sword to fall on. I don't think it was. I
think that relationship's over, he doesn't need to do that,
but there was something inside of him that wanted to
see her stick around. I'm also glad that Jill Chin stuck.
I'm glad that she accepted the rose and she ended
up with the rose. I'm excited to see Jill stay
for a bit and see how that shakes out, because

(15:06):
she will be a great character, always is in Paradise
and always is one to watch and remember. A Lexi's
time because of this is shorter than I thought it
would be. Also, I thought she'd be a hot company
on the beach totally. I thought she would have a
lot of interest from a lot of people, and she
probably could have and would have if this didn't play
out the way it did. But now we lose Susie
and Alexi and Alie, Joe and Zoe on this episode.

(15:32):
Those are some some big names and if you look
at who's left, I think they were for the people
that could have carried it.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Yeah, I want to go back to your interpretation of
Justin giving Susie the rose. I don't want to say that,
like if if Justin had a real connection with somebody

(16:03):
and somebody who was like showing positivity towards him for
the most part, I would be like, Justin, come on,
you can't give Seasy the rose, even though you're trying
to be like super nice to the girl that like
you obviously love, like you know, maybe not romantically anymore,
but you love her. But the fact that he didn't
and like, I just thought that Lexi made it so

(16:26):
clear that they weren't going anywhere that I was like, yeah,
I think that was the nice move. And I think
that he always intended to excuse himself from the show
when he gave her the rose, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I would think, so, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah, it wasn't. I don't think it was her denial
that made him say I'm going home, but maybe it
was who else.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I don't know. I mean, I don't think we gotta
clear picture in that This episode I think will go
down as one that we lost some people that we
could have been really invested into and that kind of
would be very comfortable being in Paradise and kind of
letting their guard down and exploring these relationships. However, I
do want to say that Zoe, who is another big

(17:07):
name to go home that we haven't really talked about,
did the Zoe thing, which is what we have appreciated
her for, and also we're really excited to see her
in Paradise, for it might not be everybody's cup of tea.
But it's fun to watch. She is direct. She says
what she's thinking and what she feels, even if maybe
the other person doesn't see it the same way. Yeah,

(17:30):
those are the type of people I want around in Paradise.
I want her there to continue to do this to
every person that still stays open to other relationships. While
she is very committed to the person that she thinks
has committed to her. We see that this episode she
goes home because of it. I think another one where

(17:51):
I watched her go and I was like, there's so
much more we could have seen from Zoe. I don't
know if it looks a lot different than what we
saw already.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know either.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
But it was a loss for this show.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yeah, it was. I wonder what girls are going to
be brought in?

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Well, right now we kind of have the group that
we knew were going to be there right now as
it stands, we had the information on some of the
people that we're going to be in Paradise, and we've
seen most of them. We've seen most of them come
in and go some of them, so we'll be interesting
to watch. The great thing about Paradise is for all
the drama that happened, and we've already mentioned those that

(18:26):
left you wake up the next morning it's day six
of Paradise and the women now have control. So the
whole dynamics which is back. It is one of the
most interesting aspects of Paradise to me is kind of
the not the gameplay, but the dynamics shifts that happen
week to week because don't get too confident and don't

(18:49):
get too cocky, because the next week, if you don't
have a committee relationship and you've kind of been playing
the field, well, you're on the hook to go home.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
And that brings to Bailey and Jeremy's relationship. How I
was shocked. I again, like, was this all a production
move gone wrong? I'm not sure because I audibly gasped
when Jeremy gave Bailey the road and not Susie. I
thought he was taken by Susie. He seems like a

(19:21):
different person. I know that I often give Jeremy some flak.
He seemed like a gentleman with Susie, like he was
on his very best behavior. He kept saying that she
was the girl that he had put on her list,
and then all of a sudden, he picks Bailey, and
I'm like, okay, all right, So maybe I was reading
that wrong. Maybe he was pretty torn. And then this

(19:43):
bites him in the butt because Andrew Spencer charming, wonderful.
Andrew Spencer, another person that we love to see here
comes in, asks Bailey on a date, and then Bailey
had already said last night. What did she say? She
said basically like, I'm here for you. She said that
of course before Rose was given out. It made Jeremy

(20:06):
feel pretty secure. But when Andrew gives her the day card,
Jeremy is very, very pissed, so pissed that he asked
the producer to call Susie and I love this move.
I love a desperation move in the interview room where
you're like, can have your phone, because like I may

(20:28):
have done that before, and I thought that was going
to be our way to get Susie back. So I
feel like I was just as disappointed when Susie said
to Jeremy, I think you have to figure things out,
and she denied him.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
It's rough for Jeremy right now. I will say, no
matter how this plays out, I don't think he's sitting
in a good position. Andrew Spencer showing up to the
beach is a great get for us as a viewer
because he does understand paradise. He is as charming and

(21:02):
funny in real life as he is on the beach.
His personality will shine there. I think out of so
many that have came and gone through the Bachelor franchise,
he's one of those that does confuse me on why
he is still single, because I do believe being around
him he wants to find that forever person. I obviously

(21:22):
don't know him well enough to dissect all the good
and bad, but he does seem like a catch to
me and one that a lot of people will be
interested in. And I'm guessing he was also somebody that
a lot of people were surprised to see show up
to the beach because it kind of felt like his
time on the beach had come and gone, and then
we took a year break and now he's back. Great

(21:44):
get for us. Not only is Andrew back, this is
also the moment that we reveal the Goldens that are
coming up to the beach. They're bringing their spunkiness, their feisiness,
their humor, their excitement, That's one of the things I
love about the Goldens. I think they're very grateful for
these opportunities, and as a result, it is displayed through

(22:08):
their enthusiasm, where sometimes cast members of The Bachelor and
Bachelorette can be a little more hesitant and nervous. Yeah,
more reserve, not ungrateful, just a little bit more.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Help back, just beat me out. Guys like they don't
give up.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
No, they are going wild, especially April. Here's who shows
up to the beach April, Leslie, Kim, Ralph, Keith, Gordon.
Big win for me. I wanted to see more of Keith, Natasha,
Kathy Schwartz, who one of the best in the world.
Gotta find her husband. She's working so hard at that. Jack,

(22:45):
Charles King, Natasha and RJ.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
So these guys legit. Maybe I die. I was so
hesitant about them coming into Paradise. They made it a
lot of fun. They made it start to feel like
old Paradise again.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
I don't know whether they did edit it more slowly
once they came in, but like all that like slow
motion and clip clip clip clip clip, all the loud
music just seemed to like kind of go to the wayside.
And it was old fashioned paradise humor.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
It's amazing. I agree with you. I felt like it
was a throwback to the old paradise. I felt like
it was like that warm hug that we all needed
watching this show to remind us that we are still
watching Bachelor in Paradise. The Golden showing up felt like
a comfort to me, like, hey, I understand this again.
I know this again. I do think it was slower paced.

(23:36):
I don't know if it's just because they move at
a slower pace or because it was edited to a
slower pace.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Oh no, I was like, oh, this is fun. I'm
smiling now.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah, so the Goldens are there.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah, nothing really happens with the Goldens besides them being
just like background humor for a while and enjoying every moment.
We kind of go back to the young ends when
we see Andrew and Bailey go on their day. They
like bathe in coffee or something.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
It's a big one for the coffee world, the greatest.
If you're somebody that watched that and said I need
to bathe in coffee, please try to bathe in generous coffee.
It is has no pesticides, no chemicals, It is. It's
just you know, highly highly graded. It's especially grade coffee.
It's so good for your skin if you want to
bathe in it, I recommend ordering one hundred pounds.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Oh, it's a fun I definitely listen to Ben and
you can also buy it through Audrey's Coffee House in lounge.
Yes even better zoom. Yeah. So during this date, we
see one of those flashbacks or no, it's not a
flashbackcne and it's like a dreamed sequence where Jeremy is
imagining what's going on with Bailey and Andrew on their date.
What people seem to really really hate this last week?

(24:51):
What'd you think about this? I don't mind them. They're
not the best, they're not the worst. They're fine.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I could go without it. I don't think it brings
anything to me, Like I'm sure it took a lot
of time in creativity and it does keep some junior
producer up at night, you know, thinking about it. I
don't really enjoy them in a way to me, Ashley,
it kind of like I think viewers for so long

(25:19):
have held on to this idea that The Bachelor is
a real experiment in dating and relationships. They have walked
at times a fine line going, this is way too
edited for me to watch, and some of those people
that they brought back into the show to watch this
show specifically over the summer, we'll see this and they go,

(25:43):
this is too corny, this is too much, This is
just too different for me. I want to see real
life play out on TV. So I don't think it's
a benefit to the show. I think it's one that
we won't see in the future.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yeah, well, apparently there were no dream sequis. Isn't up
so too? You and I have been getting our screeners
later than usual, which indicates to me maybe I'm just
coming up with drama that they might be editing late
last minute.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
It makes sense, you know, it's kind of a quick
turnaround no matter what. Yeah, so the dream sequences could
go without it, but we do see this Bailey and
Andrew day. I think Andrew's probably a great person to
be on a date. I just think he's probably fun, easy,
kind of brings down any anxiety's had. I see the

(26:32):
Bailey potential there at this moment. While I'm watching this Day,
I'm seeing and I'm like, I think this could work.
But obviously we still have the element of Bailey and
Jeremy happening, which kicks off really our morning of day
seven of Paradise. We see Bailey and Jeremy talking, or

(26:54):
at least Bailey feeling some sort of uneasiness about going
on the date with Andrew, because I do think she
does care about Jeremy.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
And I think she came home still liking Jeremy Moore.
He now has this predicament on whether or not he
tells Bailey, hey, I freaked out so hard when you
left that I decided to call Susie and call her back,
because that's something that could come and affect them later.

(27:21):
I think he needs say it out.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
I don't think so. It's no, you're still so early on.
It didn't work out. She's not coming back. And he
has a really easy excuse, which is, hey, you want
to think another dude, and I decided to call another girl?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Okay, sorry, yeah, yeah, all right. Well then meanwhile, Andrew
and Alex, So if Andrew and Bailey aren't happening, Andrew
and Alex are something that could possibly be happening. But
right now Alex is with Jonathan not really no guy.
Well you know that's their pairing currently.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
She pretty much said as she was there that in
a nicer way, like Jonathan's giving her the ick.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
You're probably you're actually so right, she says, I hate
the way with the way that you're like putting your
hand on your chin.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
I feel very uncomfortable right now.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
That is she was picked out. However, she doesn't know.
She wants to give Andrew a chance because she feels
kind of burned by the fact that he took Bailey
on the day instead of her. She gets over it
quite quickly. She does feel bad about breaking up breaking
up quo quote with Jonathan, and I like it when
people have to break up in Paradise and they feel

(28:37):
emotional about it. I mean, I don't like being the
subject of the breakup, but you know, it's always nice
to see somebody like, Oh, I hate breaking up. It's
like an emotional thing. I feel so bad. And it's
interesting that Jonathan is like the single guy here now,
because I don't know. I think Jonathan's real cute, but
I also think he's very fev hungry.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Well, but I also think John kind of has that
like he I think in his life will fall into
the friend zone quickly because he is like very charismatic,
and he's very friendly, and I think girls will quickly
either like be really into that or be like, hey,
you're my best buddy. Yeah, let's go walk the beach

(29:21):
and talk about all the other boys that are here.
I don't know, not shocked by this move. I do
think Alex and Andrew, you know, do have potential. Alex.
The reason I started this saying this is the horniest
episode ever is because Jonathan says the Goldens are just
ready to go, and Alex also says she's ready to go,

(29:44):
which feels like a reference that we've never really heard
on this show before. It feels like you said, it
is uncovering a whole new language and pathway for us
to pursue. It's not like this has never been talked about.
We've had the boom boom room for years.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Boom boom is like supposed to be the cute way
of saying it, though.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Yeah, well we're skipping that and we're cute.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Well, it's definitely a Love Island thing or you know
whatever the name the competition X on the Beach, what's
the other show about? Too Hot to Handle? It's just
like they're a little references and making it a little
bit dirtier, a little bit more risky, But I will
say the kiss between Andrew and Alex and just their
cutes conversation in the pool made me feel like, yes,

(30:27):
I want to root for this couple. It was another
one of those moments where I was like, I feel
like very interested in seeing where this goes. This is
a good old fashioned Paradise moment, minus the horny.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Ashley. As we kind of wrap things up here, we
do have another guest that arrives that pulls in a
big moment for the show. We have the Jack in
April makeout. That's a wild thing to see. Jack says,
there was tongue. That's exciting. I think April is gonna
have a blast in Paradise. I have no doubt that

(31:09):
she in the next few episodes is gonna be one
to watch.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
April so funny from the fact that she has this
connection with Kat and they're sharing a room hilarious. But
my favorite moment from April and the entire episode was
when she told Jonathan, you know where my room is
if you ever need me for some reason. I was like, yes,

(31:34):
and he actually seemed like a little bit weirded out.
I don't know if he was told like bring it
up as if it was strange to your friends, but
like I was like, yes, this is what we wanted
to see. Slight induendo between the two, but nothing like
for real, for real, except for what do you think?
Do you think that he's gonna try to get his

(31:55):
rose from April? I think he is. And guess what,
I think he's gonna get the rose from her. He
is hungry for a rose.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Yeah, yeah, I think he sees his opportunity and he says,
I'm all over this. I just didn't think this had
happened so quickly. I don't even have like comments for
this more than like I'll be watching, I'll be intrigued.
I do think something happens.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
But then we also see Dale taking that shot off
her belly. That's gonna be during one of the games.
You know that's gonna be one of the challenge.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Sure, but I've zero doubt that April is going to
be a large part of this show. She's made for Paradise. Yeah,
and I think she's gonna drive some of the other
Golden's crazy and she's going to be like whoever, whoever
is ready, Whoever's open. I'm here, and I will make
sure everybody here has a good time. And I think
those are the funniest and best people to have in Paradise.

(32:52):
Some people that we can think of like thrived in
Paradise because they just had a good time all the time.
And I think that's gonna be April Sean shows up
to the beach. He is our final entry during this episode. Sean,
you know what, I've met him. He's a really nice dude.

(33:12):
He is a like, very like kin looking fella.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
I know that's what we can't take him seriously because
he does look fake, I.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Know, and I think that goes against him.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I feel bad. It's like, obviously he's attractive, but there's
something so polished about him that makes you like kind
of laugh.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
I think, like Jill said it best, Sean looks like
a big yacht guy and she's more of a dingy girl.
He looks like that. I don't think he is that.
I do think he, you know, kind of gives off
that look in the vibe of like I'm really well
put together. I could walk into any room and look
like like I showered five minutes ago, and you know,

(33:54):
did my hair just right?

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Yeah, but I.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Think he's a lot cooler than that, and I think
you see that during this date with Sean and Jill.
I think you see him being funny, breaking down, being
kind of like your normal humor, and Jill is obviously
wanted to bring that out in him. She's hilarious. So
for me, I was excited that he chose Jill. I think,

(34:18):
out of anybody on the beach, just from a potential
that she would give him a chance, even she was
the best choice.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Yeah, they actually seem to have a genuinely good time.
And then we have to discuss Jill and Jonathan's conversation
because once he realizes that she's probably gonna be he's
only shot at a rose, he comes back to her
and it's just like it's a confusing time because it
seems like it's a conversation, an argument over like one
line where he said something along I know that during

(34:50):
the first episode, like last Monday night, he said something
like we're going on this date, but like, I think
it's just going to be friendly, and I told Alex
that and I was like blow and then he kind
of said something similar to well, then he complicate, he
confused Jill by saying, you know, maybe you're making this

(35:14):
a hard decision for me. So that led Jill to
believe that maybe the two of them had more of
a something than she thought. So then when he addresses
this with her, it's just like a whole bunch of
I don't understand what you're saying. Well, I don't understand
what you're saying, and I wish that you could like
understand where I'm coming from, But I don't understand where

(35:36):
you're coming from. When you're not making any sense and
you're like, hey, guys, guess what. You don't like each other.
This isn't gonna happen. So Jonathan gotta move on. Stop
trying to convince her because the only reason you're even
having this debate is because you want her rose. And

(35:56):
I know Jill, she's not gonna give you the rose.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
No, he April. That's his path forward. We kind of
close out this episode with a date sponsored by I
Know What You Did Last Summer, which is a movie. Uh,
this was a huge part of the episode. I Don't
Know What I Know You Did Last Summer? Paid for
this spot? Oh, huge, definitely a big It might it

(36:23):
might be where the five hundred thousand dollars cash prize
is coming in at the end of this, which, by
the way, from the polling that we did at Almost Famous,
a majority of you do not like the idea of.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Fani from that is actually so accurate. I'm not shocked
if it was no, that would make so much sense, Like,
let's just do this ad and then they'll give us
the money for the prize.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
I mean it was in their contracts, but I know
you did last summer does their does the date. It's
a big group exercise. It's a funny game. It does
lead to some I think intriguing conversations, especially you know
between like the Kathy and the Keys of the World.

(37:09):
But the game is this, I'll just explain it kind
of how I understand it. Each testine wrote down a
secret and put it in a lock chess. Jesse then
reads these secrets out loud. The contestants vote on which
secret is the most shocking. The owner of the secret

(37:30):
can reveal themselves or remain anonymous, but Jesse says that
is unlikely once they find out what is at stake,
the majority vote will determine which secret is most shocking.
So we have all these people write down their secrets
and then what was at stake.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Actually, well, they didn't say it until afterward. So he
was just like, it's a prize that's going to make
you feel very good. It's going to be advantageous for
you in this experience. Advantageous, That's what he said. And
so it ends up being a VIP room, which I'm
not sure if it was a VIP room to stay

(38:10):
in throughout their entire experience or it was just for
the night. Kathy ends up winning it because Kathy's secret
was that she slept in she slept with someone else
in her house while her partner was in another room. Now,
our producer and I were kind of like coming up

(38:32):
with reasons where that could be true but actually not
true at the same time, like not as selacious as
she may have made it. One theory, my theory, which
was also Kat's theory, was like she just innocently slept
in a bed with somebody else while her maybe late

(38:54):
husband was in the house. Another option that our producer
came up with is that her husband is cremated and
he is in an urn somewhere in the house and
she was sleeping with somebody else. Ben what do you
think do you think she genuinely cheated on a partner?

Speaker 1 (39:11):
No?

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Well in that now, no.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Shot, I know. I mean knowing Kathy, she's as loyal
as they come. She is also smart, and so she
was like, how can I twist something to sound like
something else? And then once I elaborate on it, everyths
gonna be like, oh that wasn't that sedacious? That was good?

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Now? What about the two other things? The secrets that
stood out to me? One, I thought it was very
juicy that somebody it turns out to be Keith changed
the name on a test. Yeah, college, high school, whatever,
It was a long time ago. But you submit your test,
then you take out somebody's name a racer and put
your own. That is really intense to me.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Really, yes, you must have never cheated in school.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
I guess I didn't. You know, maybe you look over
just to like double check to make sure you both
have B circles. But yeah, no, Ben's like, I've done
worse than the name change. Okay. So then there was
also the five hundred thousand dollars secret, which they alluded
to being Aprils said that I found five hundred thousand

(40:19):
dollars and I kept it. Was that a production that
was at like a little car that was started in
their right to production?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Yes, okay, I've also found five hundred thousand dollars and
turned it in.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
So.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
No secrets on my plate.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
We found five hundred thousand dollars, is right, was sitting somewhere.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
No, the cocaine deal that I found in Southeach.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
Yeah, it's kind of similar. Yeah, yeah, see who knows
how much that was costing.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
It's a funny game. This is a fun game. I
think one of the best parts of this is it
ends up with Kathy and Keith in the VIP suite.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
I personally, I think there's sparks here.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
They have fun together, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
I like it. I want to see it continue. I
hope it does.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
My thought is that seeing these two on a date,
in comparing it to like the flirting of the twenties
and thirties, something's downstairs. It's like they again don't give
a fuck and they're just blabb into each other. There's
no like, oh, I'm just gonna like say this and
I bat my eyes and like, you know, really try

(41:29):
to like seduce you in this moment and be really cool. No,
it's just like we're just talking to each other.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
We're just talking a lot about you want to make out,
Let's make out. Yeah, excellent.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
It is a really fun watch.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Yeah, it's a fun watch. I'm glad they did it.
I'm glad they were there. There's a great part of
the episode actually before we close up here the current
couples that exist in Paradise as we speak, and I'm
talking couples, not like fringe couples. We obviously don't have
roseta into this episode. And so who do you who

(42:02):
would you, in your mind say is a couple moving
into the next week.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
So Spencer and Jess and they are getting the always
unfortunate treatment that Paradise gives their strongest couples, which is
no air time. So we don't really know how great
they're getting along, because they're getting along so well that
we're not seeing them. Is that it Wait, that's a couple.

(42:26):
And then we're assuming that Bailey and Jeremy are pretty
much a couple. And then we Cat and Dale definitely
a couple. I can't wait to see the drama unfold
between that, because Dale goes you're reminding me of my
ex right now, and you know, and he's saying that
he's referring to Claire. Let's see who else am I missing?

(42:48):
As far as couples go.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Would you put Andrew Spencer in there with Alex?

Speaker 3 (42:56):
They're definitely strong, they're definitely giving each other roses.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Oh, and then what's his name? Brian and Parisa?

Speaker 2 (43:03):
Yeah, so there you go. And the Goldens, I mean,
they'll we don't really have too much.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
I don't have much in my head there, Okay.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
The preview for the next episode is this. The Goldens
are doing body shots off of each other. We get
another woman to arrive to the beach. We see more
kissing from April and Jack. Jesse announces that three people
will be going home. It's a big amount for this group.
I'm assuming that also includes the Goldens, so maybe not

(43:34):
as big as I thought it would be. April tells
Jonathan if I was them, I'd be jumping your bones.
Cat and Dale have a heated conversation. Kat then says,
don't interrupt me, which is just legendary. Cat. We've seen
this last time we saw her on the beach. We're
gonna see it again. I love to see it. He

(43:56):
does refer to her as reminding him of his X,
and everyone at the rose ceremony is looking shocked for
some reason. So it's going to be another great episode.
We're going to be here breaking it down right here
on them listening to this podcast. We hope you enjoyed it.

(44:16):
No polls this week, no questions for you all. I
guess the biggest question would be, are you enjoying it?
Are you finding yourself getting used to it and getting
in to this season, or are you finding yourself pulling away?
That's the big question. I think that would be most
intriguing for us. We've already kind of got the answers
to how some of these editing issues have gone, and

(44:38):
it does feel like the show is pulling out of
the dream sequences and entering more into the reality that
is happening on the beaches of Paradise. So until next time,
I've been Ben.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
I've been Ashley Bete. Guys.
