Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
All right, we are back for another almost famous podcast
with me, Trista and I'm here.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
It's good.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
Right.
Speaker 5 (00:14):
I was looking for these pictures. You know, we have
this thing of pictures in front of us. And I
said it last night. This is a very striking couple.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yes, but Jack is one of those.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
Guys and I just want to see what his picture
looked like on here. It would be hard for him
to not look good. Like it's like you'd have to
work at not looking good, where I would have to
work to look good.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
That is not true. Every morning. I look, you know what,
I have to tell you a story today. First off,
thanks for being here both of you.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
But unfortunately Jason Mesnik is no longer like here's right now.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
He had to go home early. So this is going
to this story.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
I'm standing in line last night for my photo and
I'm taking a picture and they're like, Jason smiled for
the camera, and I was like, who's Jason, Like Jason's moileful?
The camera was like you think I'm Jason Besnik, guy
twelve years older than me and six inches shoulder shoulder,
(01:13):
A guy that.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Was The Bachelor when I was eighteen years old. Anyway, Hey, thanks,
thanks again for coming.
Speaker 6 (01:20):
That's so funny.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yes, I commented on Jack's eyelashes the first night.
Speaker 6 (01:25):
Yes, I was.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Like, beautiful, Wow, your eyelashes here.
Speaker 7 (01:29):
And to go off what you're saying, Ben waking up
next to him? Are you he looks like this twenty
four to seven, Like it's like a beautiful thing, and
it's like, goddamn, I.
Speaker 6 (01:40):
Really got to do like my skincare routine the night before.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
You know, creation.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
Michelle's the cat. Michelle is the catch, and that is
who you meet. Love it.
Speaker 8 (01:50):
So she has a good friend and her friend has
a little brother who I know, and her friend's little
brother posta Michelle in his story and so I kind
of just hit him up a couple of times, like
hey man, when you get introduced me to Michelle and
then so we were texting, We started texting about it,
and then hit them up this one night and I
was like being really serious, like man, I'm really serious,
(02:12):
Like I don't think you're taking me seriously, Like I
really want to meet Michelle, like you know what I mean,
Like not like anything crazy, but I was like I
was joking, and I was like, man, I really want
to meet her, like she's beautiful, and he was like,
you know what, Actually, I think that'd be a good thing.
I think you guys would be like really cool and
like vibe together. And so the next night I met her.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
But here's the catch though.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
Here's the catch is that I had no idea any
of this was going on. And so I was with
said little brother and my friend and we were just
talking and we happened to like talk about being single,
and I said, I have no idea how I'm supposed
to meet anyone in Minnesota, Like my person is definitely
not in Minnesota at this point, Like I gotta fly,
I gotta start traveling more because it's they're.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Not on the apps.
Speaker 7 (02:51):
Yeah, I can like apps making me feel like I'm
going to be single forever. And so I asked, like,
do you have any single friends, thinking that I knew
all of his friends, and he's like, actually, have I
ever talked you about Jack?
Speaker 6 (03:03):
I'm Acou's Jack. And so he pulled up his Instagram profile.
Speaker 7 (03:06):
Love the fact there were only five pictures, because I
myself got on Instagram only a few years ago and
I was he's really cute, and I actually started to blush,
and when my other friends called me out on it,
I'm like, I don't know why I'm bussing right now.
So the whole table we're sitting at like a Vikings
boot camp practice this event, and we're sitting there and
everyone's like, ah, like all this different stuff, and I
(03:28):
was like, well, he's a good person, Like he's good looking,
but like, is he a good person?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Let's start go, Let's go for that, right.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
What's the catch?
Speaker 7 (03:34):
What's wrong with him? I think he's what I asked.
He's like, no, I can't believe I hadn't introduced you.
So in my world I thought I brought it up
to this this person, and then he also did the
same thing.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
It was like within like forty stars, I thought you
were saying that someone said to you he's interested.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
In I happened to ask.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
I happened to ask, and he slid it in so smoothly.
And I didn't know until we had been dating for
like two three weeks when we actually figured out that
we had asked about each other within like forty eight hours.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
However it happened, it was really weird.
Speaker 8 (04:08):
Yes, So the day that she saw my like my
profile when she was at the Vikings practice. We met
that night and so yeah, correct, then I think we
spent the next four days together and then we were
just done.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
We were dating by Sunday.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Do you live near each other? Like, could you have
ever crossed paths?
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Okay, So there's a lot going on.
Speaker 7 (04:34):
Have you heard about this the whole like invisible string
theory where a lot of times you're soulmate or the
person you end up with, you've been in the same
room multiple times, like you never but you have never
met up to that point. So we went through breakups
at the exact same time, like we both are going
through devastating breakups. We were both in the same stage
of our breakups as we were going through, like not
(04:55):
ready to meet somebody, thinking we're ready to meet somebody,
and then those few steps back and we had gone
like we go to all the same bars. Minnesota's not
that big.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
The lake he grew up on.
Speaker 7 (05:05):
My family fishes on that lake twenty four to seven.
So we're just in all these different areas. I went
to a football game that he was playing at and
hadn't even known back when I was like a teacher.
Oh my gosh, so all these weird situations.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
Yeah, okay, I didn't grow up on a lake. The
lake was like down the street.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
From friends were up playing there.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
We played there.
Speaker 8 (05:26):
Yeah, I don't have a boat. No, but yeah, it's crazy,
crazy that is. That's a beautiful story of the two
of you together. It's been really fun to watch the
two of you. And obviously Jack, I was telling you
last night. You know my wife came to a bachelor event.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, oh jeez. It was Paradise wedding years ago for
my first time. And she has a lot of fun
at this stuff. She's got to know some of the
girls and really enjoys that part. But this isn't her thing.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Like she just kind of comes in, feels a little
intimidated at times, getting better at that, and sits back
and watches this whole madness go down. Uh, this was
your first like bachelor of.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Would you what did you think? Like, what's your takeaway?
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Now?
Speaker 5 (06:10):
When you guys wake up or when you start traveling
back home, you can be like, this was great, this
was awful. I never want to do this again, all
these things alone from the rest of your life. Just
break it down kind of your experience.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
Last, absolutely, I think well, for I think Michelle kind
of prepared me pretty well for this. But like overall,
I think it was like it went really smooth. I
mean I didn't have any like it was really fun
you know, and it was.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
It was a good vibe.
Speaker 8 (06:36):
It was definitely different, like being around all the cameras
and like you know, like the TV commercial processes like
during the I was like very unnatural. But overall, no
great experience. Would would definitely do it again as long
as I'm with her. I don't think I could do
this by myself. You know, I'd be a little I'd
be a little overwhelmed. Man, I'm sure you're a little overwhelmed.
Uh but yeah, no, it was it was great. She's
(07:00):
of me the ropes and yeah it was. It was
a good time.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
I met a lot of great people and I had
some good conversations.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
So was it what you expected or was it different?
Speaker 8 (07:09):
I think it was a little different. I was thinking
more like I felt like more was gonna like, man,
this was gonna go down. I don't know, I feel it, Yeah,
I felt, But yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
I do understand that though it was like control chaos.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Christian and I were just talking this morning. You kind
of get used to the control chaos, like somebody got
engaged at a wedding last night, and like that's crazy,
you know that's crazy. Yeah, beautiful for them. We hope
they're so happy, Like that doesn't happen anywhere else.
Speaker 7 (07:45):
And it's also there's so many different parts of the
wedding so be like we were at the Golden Wedding lesson.
We were literally physically in that space and we heard
everybody cheer.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
We were over here doing press, so we.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
Didn't find out even they got engaged on the internet.
Like I'm literally texted Rachel'm like look or I showed her.
I'm like, look at this rumor and She's like that happened, Michelle,
And I'm like when she's like, everyone's cheering, we had
just stepped away to do pressure to talk to somebody.
So there's this whole so yeah, congratulations.
Speaker 6 (08:19):
I had no idea. I learned from the internet. I
was at the wedding.
Speaker 8 (08:22):
We were just laying down last night and I was
on like the Golden Bash for like Instagram page.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
I was like, man, somebody got engaged.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Last night, Like why didn't they say anything?
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Because we just like we just hugged the bat them
like they didn't say anything. Maybe they just assumed that.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Congratulation.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
What was your favorite moment, Oh, the favorite moment is
probably watching just Gary responded to Teresa walked on the aisle,
and just like the family aspect of the stories being
told to like the small moments, you know, right after
the vows, just because you could really feel.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
The connection between them two and you could really feel
the connection between the family and what they've seen and
how they've watched the love grows, and so I felt
like that was like the really human part of it,
Like it was all human.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
It's all so many beautiful feelings.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
But it was really cool and I got a little emotional. No,
it was it was.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
It was definitely authentic, Like you could see it in
like Gary Intese's eyes.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
So you can't fake it.
Speaker 8 (09:32):
You can't fake it, all right, you can't fake it.
You can't fake it. So it was definitely fun to watch.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I really liked.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
I enjoyed. I enjoyed the wedding.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
So I get emotional. You always to give.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Me saying right behind me and he's like I heard
him go, wells that got me.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Will's brought me a hanky. He did, so I said
that to you give me his hanky. It was when.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
I was just like sitting there looking at Gary and thinking, Okay,
what a crazy situation. He's just been in for last
year his life. He's in his seventies, he's now national television.
His picture has been everywhere. He's been celebrated, he's been criticized,
which you know, we can all relate with that process
of like feeling hate and then feeling love and feeling
hate again.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
It's very weird.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
And it was when his daughter stood up and said, like,
people know you as like the Golden Batch, but we
call you dad. And you can see this like, I mean,
I'm not a parent, right I don't you have kids, Trista,
Like those moments where your kids validate who you are
to them. I can't imagine that feeling, especially after the pressures.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
I know that he is just experienced.
Speaker 6 (10:43):
True story.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Well, I mean I just shared with you earlier that
so Blakesley, who you met last night or this weekend
or whatever it is. She's fourteen and a couple of
years ago, were hanging out in her room and she
turned to me and she said, Mom, you're my favorite
of all of my friends, and I was like, oh
my heart, I don't need any more in life.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
Like literally watch kicking.
Speaker 8 (11:12):
Its just.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Like that, you know, seeing the daughters. Yes, I get
choked up with that kind of stuff. It is.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
It was so special. Well the two of you, thanks
so much for stopping him.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Yeah, it's great to see both, absolutely stunning, beautiful a
being great to meet you this weekend. I hope it
was super fun. That if you you know, when you
come back to these events that maybe it's just like
less you know, confusing. You're just like know, these people
are just normal people trying their best to to do
weird stuff.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
And I kind of hope that you feel welcome. Yeah,
you know, like I want to make sure that any
spouses or people who aren't connected to the show always
feel like we are welcoming, you know.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Yeah, one hundred percent.
Speaker 8 (12:02):
No, that's one thing I actually told the Michelle when
we got back last night, Like I was just like
everybody was so nice and like it took the time
to have a conversation with me, so it was super nice.
Speaker 6 (12:11):
It is like such a big yeah. Then really you
know between between.
Speaker 8 (12:17):
Between me, like how you doing.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
I was feeling I was feeling that floor last night.
The band was so good.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
You know.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
I feel like my knees this morning.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
My life, my head due.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
All right, well, we'll be back. Some other great interviews
to come. But seriously, Jack and Michelle, thanks for coming in.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Thanks, I appreciate you. Guys.
