Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Hey everybody, it's the almost Famous podcast. I'm here today
with Ashley, of course, and we're gonna start out this
last weekend, I had the pleasure really of spending the
whole weekend in Rhode Island, which is where Ashley lives. Obviously,
(00:29):
some tragic events happened in Rhode Island with the shooting
at Brown University while I was visiting there. Ashley was
away for the weekend, but obviously it's her home, and
I wanted to give Ashley a moment to kind of
speak to that or on that, if you'd like.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I mean, it's just.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
The worst thing ever, and it feels so awful when
it's particularly close to home.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
It's unfound aathomable. I just can't believe this is happen.
You know how often this is happening, And it's very
particularly scary right now. Yeah, because this guy hasn't been caught.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
They had this one person in custody and they actually
got the wrong guy and we found out overnight that
we still don't know who it is. And it's kind
of freaky to, like, you know, send my kid to school.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
But obviously.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
I mean, like, I just thinking praying for those people
who have been affected, those two poor kids, sophomore and
a freshman. I'm just I'm so so sorry for their families,
and I can't. I have no words for it. Just
my heart is with them and the whole Brown community
and Rhode Island, and uh, there's really no there's really
(01:42):
no words.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Ben. How was it to feel we were here, like
half an hour away from.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
It, Yeah, I mean it was. It was obviously. I
think the whole house, we had a whole house for people.
It's most from the northeast, shocking, and you know, it
doesn't it hasn't been. I haven't been callous to it
(02:09):
enough to where this stuff like this happens and you
don't take a step back, and it's like very it's
very somber. It is very scary. I understand why you're
feeling that. Yeah, it affects so much time, and I
understand why even you know, days later, you're sending your
kid to school and it's in the back of your head.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
And I feel like I think about it all the
time when I send also to school.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
It doesn't happen to have to happen near.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
To you, that's too bad, that's not you know, it's
not how things should be recently. Yeah, but for all
of you people living in Rhode Island or have connections
to Brown University or have been affected by this, we
just want to say you are in our thoughts. And
(02:57):
I know that sounds like a platitude, but really it's
the only thing I know how to do from a
distance is to have you in the thoughts and to
also just tried and you know, wrap our arms around
those parents who are also now nervous and have been
nervous to send their kids out into the public. H
(03:20):
We do have headlines for you today. We want to
break down the news going on in bachel Nation. We
obviously wanted to started with the news from Rhode Island
because it does hit so close to home on this show.
And we'll start with one that is was expected, I believe,
based on what happened a few months ago. Becca Tilly
(03:43):
proposes to her fiance Haley in Japan, five months after
her fiance first popped the question.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
So Becca always imagined that she would propose back to Haley.
It's some point when I saw her in October, I
don't think she knew exactly wonder how she was going
to do it, but she found the perfect time and place.
They went to Japan. They often go to Japan. I
believe that Haley is part Japanese. And she did it
on Friday, December twelfth, and the pictures are so stunning.
(04:18):
She had a photography a photographer planted and this is gorgeous,
so so pretty. Now they both have their dino and
rings and the caption said to forever and everywhere with you.
She said, yes, so cute. We're so happy for both
of them. I like the proposal back in a situation
(04:38):
like this, specifically in a girl and girl relationship, I
do like I do like it like this. In the
case of it being a guy proposing to a girl,
I would say that I kind of like it more traditional,
but it's it's real.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I mean, I honestly believe for Jessica and I like
I was the one that was going to be proposing.
Now dragged it out so long because of COVID that
at some point she might have just done it and
just said, well, were you going to do this thing
or not? And let me at least put in your hands.
I think we just knew that Becca was planning this.
I do think it was already reported or we had
(05:16):
talked to Beck and she had said that that was
part of her plan. So it doesn't come as like
the shock or you know, maybe the first time does,
but it doesn't take away the specialness right there, commitment
to each other. Speaking of commitments, Ashley, Jason Tarctick goes
Instagram official with new girlfriend.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
So his new girlfriend has been rumored for a couple
of weeks now. Her name is Katain Hurley, and he
posted her for the first time in honor of her
thirty fourth birthday. They met through the charity organization that
she runs for dogs as a nonprofit rescue center. It's
called Wags and Walks in Nashville, and his caption said
(05:59):
from dogs, from the dogs you save every day to
the people whose lives you change, You make everything around
you more beautiful. Howdy, birthday Catherine, and then he said
somewhere either in this or in the stories, that he.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Said my love. So it's obviously serious.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
And this news came three days after they had sparked
romance rumors, and they're photographed together at the opening of
Craigs in Nashville. She is amicably split from her ex husband.
That happened in April after they were married for five years,
(06:39):
and they have since finalized their divorce. Oh, he got
his golden redto remix from wags and locks.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
So now we understand how two of them may have met.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Do we know how long the two of them have
been dating? No, there's no inf on that.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
No. I mean, I guess I'm putting the timeline around
when he got the dog, which was he started talking
about it in July. But I think he's had him
for more than that.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Man of time.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Ali Fitotowski shares unexpected illness that sent her to the
emergency room.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Kevin was helping her cut her hair, and then apparently
the haircut made me violently ill, she jokes on Instagram.
So it's a picture of her in a hospital bed.
She goes, I went from totally fine to having severe
lower abdominal cramping every twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
That's interesting. She was secretly pregnant.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
She was. What's that show called I didn't know I
was pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant. You never
heard of it, Ben, It's a very interdeting show. Oh
my gosh, it's a whole bunch of women. It's like
two or three stories every episode of women who don't
know they're pregnant, and it's the story like a reenactment
of them going into labor and then like a baby
popping out.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
On the toilet.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
Whoa.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
It's fascinating. Every single time.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
I did another podcast about this, and I had four
women on telling me about their stories about not knowing
they're pregnant and delivering a baby. I just don't I
just cannot fat I just don't understand. There's something wiggling
and moving around in you, even if you are like sick,
and if you're not having all those classic symptoms, the
(08:32):
fact that you're not feeling kicks inside you is tremendously weird,
especially for those and there were a number of them
who had had children before.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Anyway, Ali back to Alie.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
She goes after the cramping every twenty minutes, and a
few hours of that, a friend who's a doctor told
me that I should be going to get checked out,
and she said that it was really getting quite painful.
She said, I'm sure, are they is fine? But man,
the only thing I compare this to is childbirth contractions,
(09:06):
and these It started to like bring me to my
knees in tears, and then she finally said she's okay.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
They gave her some morphine.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
They took the pain away, which was very needed, had
a cat scan, and she has colitis, which is inflammation
of the intestines. They're gonna put me on an antibiotic
and pain meds and let me go home, be on
a liquid dot, gotta see a gastrodologist, and she's gonna
probably have to get a cold. Honesty, but like, wow,
(09:37):
she said that colitis and Crohne's disease runs in the family.
It's so interesting that it would just kind of pop
on and it wouldn't be like weeks and weeks of
leading up leading up to this moment.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I mean, it's shocking. I like that she started out
with the haircut. I know I hesitate to even talk
about this, just know that the recent rumors of Jess
Edwards and Spencer Conley who met in Paradise. She's upset
because of some of the comments being made about the
(10:11):
fake news article. I don't want to talk about it
because those fake news articles are dumb and I'm tired
of talking about them and just bring them more attention.
Than we do. But just know that whatever you're seeing
online is probably not true and you should go ask
them directly for all of their new recent updates. Jade
Roper reveals whether she and Tanner Tolbert are trying for
(10:34):
another baby.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Do you see my brow furrowed right now?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Like, but goodness, I don't believe this is accurate. She
did ask She was asked on social media the other
day during a Q and A whether or not they
would have another story, and she said, forever trying to
convince Tanner for more, for one more sweet addition to
(11:01):
these adorable faces, but I'm not sure it's in the cards,
and that is what I am aware of. And then
she also went on to say the family's plans for
raising animals on their land once they move into their
new home, which they're renovating right now.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
And then she said chickens first, and then I.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Have a whole wish list goats, She maybe a mini donkey,
i'll paca, ducks, pony, and a horse. And then she
also said that she would love to adopt a bee
hive for honey bees and build some bug hotels for
native bees too. This is Jade doiving her mother nature thing,
(11:40):
because she's mother Nature. I don't understand how they could
ever come up with. Oh okay, the headline is actually
reveals weather she and Tanner are trying for a new baby,
not that they are trying for another baby, because they
they are not.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
A little shocked.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
She really really really wants another baby, and I really
I want that for her. Yeah, but I know that
I don't think that Tanner is budging on it either.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I mean, it would be how many I mean they
have how many right now?
Speaker 1 (12:10):
You three?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
You know she miscarried, she miscarried the fourth.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Yeah, so I know that that makes her feel even
more so like there's another baby out there for her.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah. It just I always think they have twelve kids
because they start having kids so soon.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah, but not really. They were married for a year.
They got married. Yeah, they got it just about a
year after marriage.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
They do what they want to do. Three kids, it's
not crazy. Four kids.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
More kids is getting there? Yeah, they do a goss
for it. Caitlin from Joey Season. She offecially has a
master's in medical just symmetry. She said, I get to
design radiation treatment plants for cancer patients. Oh my gosh,
that is so amazing. So I get an image and
I map out the radiation, how it gets delivered, and
(12:59):
how to spare normal tissues and important organs. Oh my gosh,
that is so incredible. And Leah from Joey's season said,
all my besties beautiful and educated, So proud of you.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
This is so cool.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Congratulations to Caitlin, who also revealed that she's accepted a
job offer in Austin, Texas. I was like, what is
a Masters of medicine because usually, you know, you graduate
from medical school with your you know, it's you don't
call it your masters of medicine, but whatever, this is
sounds incredible, So congratulations to Kaitlin.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah, it's I mean, a massive deal.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Have you heard of this before? Does symmetry?
Speaker 4 (13:39):
No.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I was going to say it's such a big deal
that she's doing something I've never heard of. She isn't
like that crazy. There's a lot of things I haven't
heard of, but when you go to school for something
I've never heard of, it's impressive.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
So it's a specialized field and radiation oncology.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
These headlines this week feel very like positive.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Yeah, they're very which is great because we really needed
after this horrible, awful weekend in the world.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah goodness.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
So it says that they help calculating radiation doses and
designing how beams are shaped, angled, and weighted to effectively
target tumors will sparing healthy tissue.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
That is so that is a very important job. So
thank you, Catherine.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
I like how you said that. You said it so well.
But like it's impossible to give somebody a compliment when
they do something like this because you're like, I don't
even know what to like say.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Like you're so smart. Oh yeah, like you're doing for
going into this all of humanity, You're doing great.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
It's the best way. Anyways, that's the headlines we have
