Speaker 1 (00:00):
iHeart Podcasts bring you the Ultimate Summer of Love Tree.
This is famously Available. Welcome back to the podcast at
your host Ben Higgins, and I'm here today with our
golden famously Available gal, Kathy Swartz. Kathy, we know one
of your besties, Susan has found love and is happy
in a relationship. At least that's what we think. We're

(00:21):
not like checking every day, but at least that's our
last update. Are you ready to see if you can
find your person too?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Okay, so this is going to be rapid fire like.
We don't need any I want like first words that
come to mind. I'm just going to throw stuff out there.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
I'm never shorter words.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Ben, Okay, this is about you first. I'm excited for
this one. What's your name?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Kathy Swartz, age two?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Describe your physical appearance.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Tall, slim, slash, athletic build.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I would say strong. I want you to add strong.
You're wrong, woman. Yeah. Tell us your history with the show,
The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I was the Golden Bachelor. I was eliminated at org
roast ceremony with Gary. Gary's a great guy. Was not
my guy? Went on Bachelor in Paradise season ten. Had
a great time, felt like a mother and a mentor
to all the young ones, great guys, but did not
find my love there either.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Best thing about being on the show shows.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Getting to meet incredibly wonderful people and having an adventure
that so few people get.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
To have in their lives.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
It's the worst thing about being on the shows.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Didn't find anyone still single.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Other than your marriage. What was the most serious relationship
romantically you've had.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
He was my he was at.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Eighteen years old. I think you said I met.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Him when I was eighteen, were married eighteen months later.
I was twenty years old, had just turned twenty when
I got married.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Do you want to get married again?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
It's not on my to do list, but I'm old
enough to know never say never, so it's.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Maybe maybe when this is like first things that come
to mind. Here three things that are requirements for your
significant other.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Kindness, a sense of adventure, and love for me and
my family.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Now we're going to switch over to some hard questions
about dating. Specifically, are you willing to be the primary breadwinner?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Ideally? Do you want to continue working or would you
like to be fully retired and you are working, You're
doing podcasts, now you're going on these shows.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
No, I love doing my podcasts.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
I love so No, I would I retire, Probably not fully. No.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
This is a question that comes up so many times
at my age and within my twenties, so I'm interested
to see what you would say. Would you date someone
that your family does not like?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I would date them? Yes.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Describe the physicality of your ideal man.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Ideally a little bit tall than they warm, smile, and
beautiful eyes, and it has to be fit physically fit.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
We're talking early in the relationship here, like one first
second date. If you meet someone and they mentioned to
you that they're dating other people currently, would you allow that?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Would I date him if he was dating other people?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Would you continue to go on dates with him?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
One or two?

Speaker 3 (03:43):
But I have enough faith in myself. If I really
like that guy, I think I could. I think he
would see the light and know I'm.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
In without me being able to be included in any
of these next two questions, not that I would be included,
but it's weird if I was of all the bachelor
since the beginning, Who is the most handsome in your opinion?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Dale?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Comes right at the top for me. I think he's
absolutely stunningly handsome. Gosh, that that's a tough one. I
don't know. I mean they're all, come on, they're all
good looking guys. That's that's you gotta be good looking
to be a bachelor.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Okay, Dale was never a bachelor, But we're just gonna
throw all the bachelor guys into this. Oh I'm sorry,
I'm not Dale works. Dale's a fine answer. We're just
now gonna we're gonna open up to any bachelor contestant.
That's that's fair, other than myself. Of all the bachelors,
which do you think was the greatest guy?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I mean, I think I love Dotton. I think he's
a genuine guy. Sean Well, I think he's a great guy.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Don's incredible, dude, Shohn's great. Yet that's a great choice.
Dotten is like sneaky, just awesome. He's quiet, but he's
sneaky awesome.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
But see, that's that's an attractive quality because I've seen him.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
He can let Lise, Yeah, he's so tall. How do
you feel about being set up?

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I think that's how I'm gonna beat somebody organically dating
aps just I may look good on paper or not
look good on paper. But when people meet organically, I
think that's the best way. So I'm all in for
being set up.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Are you open to a long distance relationship?

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yes, first to start with, but it won't it won't
stay that way.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Say when we get our first date set up here?
Are you going to be nervous on going to that date?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I know I should say yes, but not really. I
would be more excited.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Which couple are you most excited about that it's still together?
From the show, Like, which couple do you just like?
Get behind you? They're wonderful together.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I just spent time with them. Spencer and Jess love
them and I just I love them.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
We're not talking sex here, Kathy, But what is your
ultimate well we might we might hear, but what is
your ultimate fantasy date? Like not fantasy sweet date. I'm
not talking what happens behind that closed door. I'm talking like,
what is your ultimate fantasy date?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
So again, for me, at.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
My age, I don't need a trip to Paris with
you know, going up the Eiffel Tower and watching fireworks
go off. For me, the fantasy date is spending time
with the guy doing I don't care what a walk
on the beach, a dinner, kayaking, I don't care what
it is. As long as I'm connecting with him and

(06:33):
he's connected with me. I really don't care what it is.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
We kind of asked this question in reverse earlier, but
I'm now asking from your perspective.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Wait, I can't wait. I have to say, I'm sarry
to interrupt you. I would love to go on a
helicopter ride. I don't know what does stick out there
for me.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, I have a wild helicopter ride from the show.
We were in Vegas and a lightning bolt struck right
beside our helicopter. We had to land in the middle
of nowhere to let the storm pass.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Thanks. Maybe that comes up the list now.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
No, I don't know if i'd tell you to do that.
All right, A yacht same. I want to be on
a private plane at some point in my life. That's
just a goal.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I've done it one time.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, I've never done it, even on the show. Never went,
never been on one, but goodness, it sounds fun.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yeah it is. Yeah, sure, Wait can you buy me
the guy with a private plane?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, that's that's part of the criteria here. Private jet again,
we asked this question reverse earlier, but from your perspective,
let's talk about it in terms of this experience. If

(07:47):
we set you up on a date and it goes
really well, and the next day we set you up
with on a date with somebody different and it goes
really well, are you okay dating two people at once?

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Yes, until I figure out which one I'll like more,
and then I'm going to cut the other one loose.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
How quickly are you going to try to figure out
who you like more?

Speaker 3 (08:07):
How quickly?

Speaker 2 (08:08):
It's just a normal process. It just happens organically.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
You you just feel connected to one person, or if
you kiss someone and you feel that connection. I mean,
I think it's not something you plan for. It just happens,
at least that way it's been for me.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Now we are going to talk about sex, Kathy, I
get there, Ben, I know it seems to be a thing.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Okay, I have to break the news. Yeah, I don't
want to get pregnant.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Oh goodness, I can't get a way for you. But
that's a I hope that's a headline. I want somebody
to pick that statement up. Is Kathy Swartz says she
doesn't want to get pregnant. That would be absolutely fantastic
for this.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah, I don't, and I you know, I don't want nurse.
These books have done all the nursing they're doing that.
That stops close too.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
But how what is the appropriate on a time until
you sleep with someone you know?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I'm again, I'm nothing if not honest.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I don't sleep with the guy on the first date,
probably not a second date, but maybe after that if
I'm really into him.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
But I'll tell you the better answer.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
And I mean that answer is true, but the more
complete answer is I don't sleep with men unless I'm
either in a relationship with them or I see a
high potential to be in a relationship with him.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
It's not just like a one night fling.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
No, no, no, that is not who I am. It's you know,
it's not do you want to go to the movies
or have sex? No?

Speaker 1 (09:40):
No, But that seems like a while week that has
that been a question or like a statement told you
to before? Do you want to go to the movies
or have sex? Oh?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
I mean I've had men say to me, listen, I
really would like to literally, I really like to have
sex with you. How do you feel about that? And
I'll come straight in the eye and I say, are
we in a relationship yet? And they said, well, we
just started dating. I said, exactly, let me know when
we're in a relationship.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Oh, Kathy, this is gonna be fun. We're gonna have
some great conversations along the way. Final question for you,
what is your goal from famously available.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Hollmark card to find the man who.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Loves me? I love him and we feel so grateful
that we found each other at this last great chapter
of our lives, this juncture where we're both looking for
our person and by some magical align of the moon
and the stars, kismet, call it whatever you want, we
find each other. That's what I'm looking for, and I

(10:46):
believe it can happen.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Kathy, you've mentioned this a few times.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I know.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I said we're gonna close up, but you keep saying
this is the last final chapter. What it sounds like
to me is your or taking away from the idea
or opportunity that you could maybe have a really fun,
serious relationship that would end and we would have to
start over again. Is the standard? Here? One and done?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
When I say the last grade chapter, the ideal for
me is to find that person to walk into the
sunset with. Mind you, I don't want to roll him
in a wheelchair into the sunset. Can we be clear
on that as well? But yeah, things happen. You can
date someone for three or four years, a year, six
months and something changes. I just think at my age,

(11:34):
I've had enough experience and enough wisdom, and I've learned
enough life lessons that i would be surprised if I
ended up with a guy and six months or a
year later, I said, yeah, I'm done, because I'm I
have too much knowledge to walk into that kind of relationship.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
We've mentioned a few times here what throws you off
about somebody on a date or when you're dating. This
is always a healthy practice that I try to do
daily in my life. What do you think throw somebody
off about you?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I think when people first meet me sometimes I'm like
a puppy. I'm so exuberant and they might say, whoa
you know back girl, And so I've tried to temper
that a little bit. I think it takes a little while.
Keith said that actually on Paradise there's something happened and
I started to cry, and he said, I can't believe

(12:32):
you need to show that side of you more. It's
hard for me to immediately be vulnerable, so I think
that's something I have to work on.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
See, I don't see that in you. I remember we
walked in even to the reunion of Paradise and I
was in an office kind of getting prepped. Walked in,
saw the group, saw you, and you were in tears
just from seeing these other humans again.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Cragging because people are so important to me. Relationships are
so important to me, and I loved what I've loved
to have met someone on Paradise, absolutely, but the relationships
with those young's and getting to be close from friends
with the Goldens that were there, that fed my soul.
It really did. And seeing the most I was overwhelmed

(13:19):
at how joy I'm crying again.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
There's wonderful people. That is the best thing that has
come from this TV reality deal for me.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yeah, we could see that. I could see it when
I was there. Was that you just really love these people.
This is my final question, though, Well, you know, I
think people have wondered. I haven't heard you necessarily answer it.
Even during the reunion you say things like, hey, Gary
wasn't right for me. I see that. I get that
Keith seems like the perfect fit for you. Like when

(13:50):
I think of your ideal man at this stage of life,
it's Keith. What didn't work there?

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Well, to be fair, Keith is looking for a younger woman,
and Keith is he works full time.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
He wants a woman who lives in California.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
I mean, and quite frankly, our relationship just started as friends.
It's never you know, he's never said he wanted to
date me. And Keith is like a guys guy. You know,
he's a guys guy. He's he spends a lot of
time with the guys, and that I don't. I want
a guy who wants to spend time with me and

(14:32):
the guys, not exclusively with me. Don't get me wrong,
But you know a guy who is is uh when
it comes time to play golf, you know, doesn't mind
that I use my foot wedge and doesn't care that
you know, my seven iron sucks, but he wants to
going golf with me occasionally, not just go out with
the guys.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Fair. Fair, that makes sense, Kathy, Thank you for the
rapid fire, thank you for giving us all the intel,
and the details will continue to get the thing. Only
this has been famously available with our Golden gal, Kathy Swartz. Kathy,
thanks for joining us. Until next time, I've been Ben
