Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey guys, welcome to the Almost same As podcast. Today
we have a mini episode catching up with Heather Martin.
Our producers had a little bit of a thought having
you on Heather.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Oh, noh, who can we.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Get Matt James t from? And they're like, oh, heathers
and she wanted to join his season.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I figured as much, so let's just jump into it.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yes, what was your reaction when you saw I guess
the breakup post? Initially?
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yeah, I mean as far as I know, obviously, like
I haven't been best friends with that, you know, for
the thought, So I thought, as far as I.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Knew, I thought they were gonna get married endgame.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yeah, and from you know, hearing through Hannah because I'm
still obviously talked to Hannah all the time, like it
felt the same, she felt the same vibe. So I
was when I saw that. I was I was shocked.
I was like, what happened? I had known nothing, but
I was like, that was crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
It was.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
It was interesting post obviously that everyone you know, everyone thought.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
But did you watch the call her Daddy? I did,
as I did? And what was your maid Haegaway.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
I honestly thought I thought Rachel Hannah handled herself really
really well. I thought I thought she was like spoke
so highly of him, and I honestly thought she was
just being like truthful. I felt like she really meant
what she said and she was still like obviously it
was so so fresh, but I was like, I think
she's just saying exactly what happened and what the truth was,
(01:40):
which I thought was really respectful because she could have
gone and said like yeah the worst, or she could
have you know, still been like I want I want
to like tried to like talk about more because she
still wanted to get back together with him, But it
felt like she was just like raw and honest, which
I thought was really Yeah, that was cool.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
She's definitely giving you know, the I'm a lady, I'm
a single very uh.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
What would be the word?
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Like she is like a she's kind of playing the
bachelorette in real life right now on Instagram totally.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
I mean like all of her gallantines posts and.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
All the things, and I mean she is like the
most ever and saying like she's the most eligible.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Bachelorette and she eligible bachelorette yeah, see it.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
She's she's stunning, she's funny, she's sweet. Like, I'm like,
she's gonna get She's gonna get swooped up so quick.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
But what do you think do you think she's ready?
Like do you feel like she would be ready or
do you think that.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
She No, not right now?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I wonder, like, I mean, I feel like she you know,
who knows.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
So my theory was that like mad probably knew for
quite some time that she wasn't endgame for him, and
he just didn't know how to how to get out
of it. So when they had a series of fights,
I think he just kind of thought that was his
way out.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Do you think, yeah, what do you think like a
revelation in the moment? No way. I think that what
I think.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Is that he and this is like only my thoughts,
but I think that he like was trying so hard
and he wanted it so badly to be it, and
I think, like I've done it before where it's like
you can you can convince yourself it's it for so.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Long, oh one hundred thousand percent, And.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
I think, like I think that he wasn't planning it.
I don't think he's like, how do like I don't
think he was like how do I get out?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
How to get out?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Like and this is my opportunity. I think he was
just like I think he kind of knew deep deep down.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Okay, that's what I mean too. Yeah. I don't think
like any of this was on the surface. Yeah, but
I do feel like there was like.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
That little voice inside his soul that knew it wasn't
completely right. And then that little conscious conscience came out
during this moment.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Like almost like a little mini I like came to
the surface of revelation.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yeah, yeah, this this isn't how it should be or
this isn't how I should feel.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
And she's gonna know that soon enough. Like I'm not
worried about her at all. She I don't know that
she's there yet. It's only been like mom a little
over a month. But I think that she will soon
realize like, oh, there was that, and there was that,
and this that wasn't the right relationship.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yeah for her too. Yeah, Yeah, I think so too. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
And it's so hard when it's like you're so I
think just dating for that's like my biggest fear is
like dating for so long and then being like how
did I not?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
No, my god, not just that, just like you feel
like it's a waste of time. If you was somebody
for like a year, you're like, Okay, I learned something
through that, blah blah blah, but four years feels like always.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
So even a year feel a year totally feels like
three months of my life right now. I'm like, that's no,
I can't do it, you know what I mean, And
especially like those like I feel like upper twenties, mid twenties,
like formative years were like, yeah, I met my person,
and I want to and.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
I want to have kids.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I know.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
But it's also at the same time, like I don't
feel like I think a lot of people are like
it's his fault, he should have done it, like blah blah.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
I'm like, I don't know. I think.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
I don't know. I know it's controversial, but I just
feel like he really wanted it to happen, So I'm
not thinking like he was so like malicious and like
was like only doing it because they're like business partners,
and you know, I don't.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Like jumping on him so much.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
I'm like, no, I think he was also trying to
figure it out and he was like he wants us
to be it, and he also wants to get married
and all the things.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
So yeah, well I think he wants to get married,
but I think that there's a there's a lot that
needs to happen with him before that, because he does
seem to like he seems scared of sort of like
that commitment.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Do you think then, well, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I think he's just like there's something I just he
should not four years. He knew it years ago. He
should have been working to feel it for four years,
is what I'm saying. So if he's like had a
guy who's like gonna work to feel a feeling for
four years.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
I know, And so I know, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
See, Like my perpective is, I don't know. I don't
necessarily think it's like he's afraid of commit It's.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Not it's not the term.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
So that like he's like it just wasn't the right one.
But yeah, I guess it. I guess you should have.
I guess you should have. Like I think if he
was to meet the.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Right later on, that's the biggest problem.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think you should have. Yeah, I
mean I think you kind of know.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I think you know, like I think you know pretty
fast too.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Immediately, And maybe it's a girl thing. But I think like.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
If I when I've been in a situation, like I knew,
I knew like within the first month.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, but yeah, I don't know. How is your love
life right now?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Oh, Ashley, it's I think it's rough out there.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Have there for bachelorrette Come on, I mean, I know
we're skipping this season.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, No, it's a I've d I dated this last
year for a little a while, someone from not from California.
He was awesome, so great on paper, but there was
just like this connection piece that was missing. Yeah, and
it was kind of s I mean, obviously it wasn't
the the same thing, but the same with that.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Thing is like I wanted it.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
I try, I really really want it to happen because
I'm like he's like a perfect team and like why
and it just like I pushed it along, pushed along
because I was like, something's wrong with me.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Maybe maybe this is.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
A meat problem and I like I need to like
figure it out. But I think at the end of
the day, I realized like he just was it was
just it wasn't it, you know, Yeah, so it's.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Tough out there. I'm like, I don't know what to
do at this point. I'll do twenty nine.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
You're still in your twenties and you're fine. I always
Jared and I didn't get together until I was well.
My thirtieth birthday was like our really hating anniversary. Die.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yeah, okay, that makes it feel better. It can happen fast.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I always just say that, like, it feels like it
could be so far away, especially when you get into
your upper twenties, but then like it just takes one
person and then all of a sudden, it's just like all.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Happening, and then it's there.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
I know.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I think I'm just holding out for that.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
I think it's like, yeah, in those fates that phase before,
I'm like, oh no, I think I never felt like
the twenty nine thing. I'm like, that's not gonna happen
to me. I'm not gonna feel like stressed out out thirty.
I'm like, oh no, yeah, I'm over. I'm over the hill.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Not really.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
I understand coouraging and you're like, well, you know, I understand,
but it's all silly and don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
You're it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
It's gonna's gonna happen where nobody's worried about you, Heather,
nobody's gonna look and look at you and then be
around you and be like, ah, Nope, this girl's block.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
It's gonna die alone. That's funny.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Thank you, Yes, a mad for a second. What was
the last time you spoke to him? Did you carry
on any sort of friendliness after he decided to not
(09:17):
let you in on the season.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, I saw I've seen him that. I saw him
at Hannah's birthday party one time. I like, I've I
never had any sort of weirdness with that after, Like
i didn'tven feel uncomfortable at all, because I'm like it
was just such a weird situation. But nothing ever happened
between us, So I haven't like we're not we were
never like we're not best buds. You know.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Did you reach out to him after the breath to
break up?
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Yeah, no, Ka, I didn't.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
That would be maybe a little bit weird. It was like,
you're we're trying to get in.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not trying to hear to swoop in
and yeah, none of that. But I have yeah, I
just I've been like I've you know, pretty much caught
up with him, mostly through Hannah and through like hearing
all of her perspective and all the things and so.
But yeah, I've been casual friendly with that, but nothing
like obviously that's the extent of it.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Did you ever become friendly with Rachel?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
I saw her.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I only saw her for like a brief second at
one thing, So not that I wasn't friendly with her,
but just I never knew her.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Never encountered her.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Well, Hannah Brown is one of your best friends, and
she's one of the greatest. I love her. She was
so sweet. She went to my baby sprinkle, like we
like hung out for like two hours, and I was like,
I have a sprinkle tomorrow, do you want to come?
And then she like we just had the best time together,
the best. She had a big headline out there recently
that she and her fiance are no longer living together.
(10:47):
Can you give us a little insight into that. I
know the wedding's planned, so they're not breaking up.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
I know everyone, I've got so many messages from what's happened,
Like people who are like not even just random people, like.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
People who are like are they okay? Like what's happening?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Like even Courtney Courtney message or agent message, and she's
like this isn't right blah blah blah. But you know,
I was actually so so happy for them. I think Adam,
her fiance, and her have just been really like diving
into their.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Faith a lot more. Yeah you hand. I mean, Hannah
has been.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
A Christian for forever, but I think Adam was baptized
this year and they really started as a couple focusing
on their faith I think a lot more intentionally and
just their values, and I think like as Christians, they
were like I feel I think they felt like a
little bit of a conviction about living together, and so
they're like I thought, yeah, for our relationship, I think
it's going to be the best thing to move out
(11:44):
and just and.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Really have that like special bond when we get married.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
So I was so so happy for them, and they
are doing I think they're doing better than ever. Like
they're so excited about getting married and it's coming up soon.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Which is exciting summer and I'll get or July.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Yes, still, and so yeah, she's so I think I
have never seen like a lighter, brighter, Hannah in my
life and I didn't really think it's like a big,
big cred of it.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Oh I love that yeah part in the t M.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
I but does that mean that they're like holding withholding
until the wedding?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
I think so, yeah, I think I think so yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah. It would be weird to just be like, oh,
we'll live in separate houses, but will you sleep together?
Speaker 3 (12:30):
I think that would maybe be a cause for concern.
Then that would be like, what is the purpose here?
I think that's how people were.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Like, it's very sweet.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
I really respect that.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yeah, So I think I think they're so happy and
I think they're so excited, and yeah, they're doing so good.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
I cannot wait for them to get married.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Oh good do they have?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Do they try to set you up with people?
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Because I mean, Adam, let's be let's be real, like
Adam's a prince like he is, he's a stunning man
and he's had a very sweet personality.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
He's got a house one for you.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
So literally, they were the one who they were on
a birthday trip and they met this guy and he
was the guy that I dated. Oh so Hannah, I said, Hannah,
you have like the best out of all my I
have like a great group of friends here, and I'm like, Hannah,
you're the star of the setups.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Which is unexpected.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
But she's just like a goat, like she's just like
who Like she's you know, ultra competitive, she knows what
she's She's like, go for it. So yeah, so I'm like,
let's work on round two, let's keep it going.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yeah, I'm gonna look up for you too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Please.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
It would be like another long distance things. I don't
know anybody in San Diego.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I honestly that I think the California thing might be
the problem.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
But is your family's from the area.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
My family's from the area, but they're I think my
mom's like, I'm going wherever you guys are going. So
my parents obviously my dad too, but then he'll go
with Your dad's like.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Just nonchalant all to go where she goes. Yeah yeah,
oh well that's sweet. Yeah where would you go?
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Thinking about? I don't know. I think you should go
to Nashville with her. I love Nashville, but I've heard
bad things about dating in Nashville.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Well, it's probably becoming kind of like an la like hub.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Yes, I've heard like four stories of Nashville dating of
people like, oh yeah, just like having to leave.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
But I don't know. I honestly don't think it's easier anywhere.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Do you probably not know? And you're in San Diego.
You're not in La Yeah, San Diego. Guys do feel
like I feel like they might think they're hot too.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
It's like Peter Pan syndrome here too.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Yeah, like forty five still surfing and you know, not committing.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Dude, I do not miss that.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, I know. Is there any cute guys running around?
Speaker 2 (14:42):
I know everybody in Rhode Island's married.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
That's the thing, And it was like Midwest. I feel
like they all get married like twenty.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, like people in Rhde Island, Mary who they've known
since elementary school. It's like the state only has a
million people and they never leave.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
So it's just like all successpool. It's basically a bigger
version of the Bachelor.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
That's so funny. Okay, so that's off the list then
probably yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
And I guess, and I guess Matt James is off
the list, right? Is he gonna be at Hannah's wedding?
Do they still have a friendship.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
I think it's yeah, they sell a friendship. I bet
he'll be there. I think he'll be there, so we'll
see him then and Tyler Cameron won't be there. But
is he and Matt's still friends? I think they're still friends. Yeah, Okay,
I think they're still friends. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
I think it's so hard. It's like you don't live
in the same area. But yeah, I think they're still close.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
How cute is Tyler Cameron with his girlfriend?
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Oh my gosh. I was just like looking at all
their stuff.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
I was like, no, I was not on social media,
and last night just like a little like an hour's
scroll and I was going through their videos and like,
what the heck?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
She seems perfect for him.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
I know. I just love them together.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah, they just seem like so.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Sweeter and they're so normal. And I love the fact
that like he had the opportunity to be like total
play boy, right, and he like kind of went through
that phase and he kind of admits to it. He
was on the podcast saying that he did that and
then he kind of realized he didn't want that life,
that he wasn't feelfilled by it. Yeah, and he goes
home and he is with Tate, who's been friends with
for a long time.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
So cute and just like a down home girl.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Like but but like just like it's beautiful and like, yeah,
I'm just like so normal.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
It just seems like the most perfect Yeah, I'm happy for.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
They decorate and reconstruct the house together, yeah right, and
just live and then you know, he just surprises her
with the range over on Valentine's Day.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, then they're not normal.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Then there's that part, but that's all good. That's what
makes it awesome is that's like, that's what makes it
like very rom comy, where it's like, oh yeah, so
like you kind of it is like a Tad Hamilton.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Oh my gosh, my favorite movie of all time.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
One of the most underrated rom coms of all time.
You were like born when that movie came out.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Oh my gosh. I want to be her so badly
and like that is my ultimate dream. Rosalie Flutch.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
All right, there's so much fun talking to you. We'll
catch up another time as well.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Okay, talk later until next time, guys.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
I've been Ashley Cia.
