Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hello everyone, it's Ashley and producer Heathers also joined us
again for headlines today. Let's just jump right into it.
First headline is Grant Ellis opens up about his celibacy journey.
So he's been on social recently kind of like talking
about how he's going to do this show. I think
(00:26):
it's gonna be on YouTube, but I'm not really sure,
And it's gonna be about helping guys basically like hold
out until you find the right person, and like he's
still like you can be like really cool in suave,
but still in being celibate, like you're waiting until you
find the right person, and like God's going to like
(00:47):
set this up for you, but like I'm gonna teach
you how to kind of like be cool and do it.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
That's kind of.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
What I'm a I'm gathering is his show is going
to be about. And I think that the show might
be kind of like I'm just guessing here, kind of
like Queer Eye, but like this is more of like
an actual straight guy thing where it's like his plan
is that he's gonna like take these guys and make
them cool and celibate act.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
This is like a really respectable what we call the
version of queer eye, but for wear.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
For the celibate guy. Oh my straight the grand i
for the celibate guy.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Gen.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I'm also just like assuming, based on the content that
he's putting out that this is like where he's going
with this, and I'm totally you know me, guys, I'm
totally down for this celibacy journey of his. I think
this is it's nice, it's refreshing, he's following God's path
for him. This is great. But what to me and
(01:50):
I know makes Ben sorry to three under the best
Ben and makes Ben feel comfortable that he's calling himself
basically a dating expert, he says me, being the most
recent bachelor, I feel like I have a little authority
in the dating space.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
And that's what the show is about. It's about dating.
The thing is, grant, you.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Were the Bachelor, but like you didn't do it really successfully,
so I'm not really sure if you have an authority here.
It's just that's where you go a little bit, eh, cringe.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Also where I.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Think that it's a little like, it's a little funny,
it's a little cringe. He says whenever this woman comes
into his life, when we do have sexy, says, it
will be great. I am very good.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
That's the most cringe part about this.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Honestly, guys, this is the only reason this is really
a headline because he says, I'm very good.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
My whole thing is I'm down for the celibacy.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Like do that that is like, would you call yourself
a born again virgin?
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Yeah. I think it's like two reaches, right. I think
if that brings you like closer to God and it
helps you to get in touch with like what you
want in a relationship, and you're not like your brain
isn't clouded. Fine, it's the being public about being celibate
that I'm a little bit question mark about, because why
not just do it and not talk about it. But
(03:20):
if you're saying it's more about training other guys, then
I guess that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
I think he's trying to say, like, this is a
great path for me, I want other people to know
that it can be a great path for them. I
think that's why he's sharing now to give your point
of view credit. I do think that if you ask
famous virgins of their time, Jonahs, Brothers, Bernie Spears. They
(03:44):
will tell you it's never a great idea to talk
about publicly because sometimes you change your mind.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Also, we're not that far removed from said Bachelor time,
right for just a year out, so I think, like,
let's give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe
he hasn't had any since his time on the Bachelor,
So which.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Actually I say, like, bravo, props.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
That's so awesome that like he's taking dating that seriously,
that he's not sleeping around with random girls just because
of his fame, and I think it's super awesome.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
I totally agree with that. But I do agree with
what if you do slip up? Now you've been so
vocal about this, what's to say somebody doesn't turn around
and be like ah ah and like come forward and try.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
To like dismantle this whole thing.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
That's the only problem that I foresee happening in the future.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
But props to Grant. I think, do what you want
to do. I think it's great.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
I'm just like concerned about whenever people make huge public
declarations and then life happens or things happen, and people
are always so quick to come back and be like.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Well, you said you were going to do this, this, this, this.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah, Well he does say I'm a man, I've had
my urges, my desires, and I'm just being fully transmitterent.
I have messed up in the past, so I think
he'll probably just say, hey, guess.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
What, I'm messed up.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I think if he's gonna be like on, if he's
gonna be speaking about this on a platform, I think
that based on just how he's talked about on social
media the past couple of weeks, I think that he'd
actually admit to having mess ups if that were to come.
So we'll see, alrighty Jeremy Simon. You know, Jeremy and
Bailey Brown, they are raising funds for cancer research, and
(05:32):
we just wanted to put that out there that her
goal for her team, which is in support of pay
Credic Cancer Research, is five thoree and eighty dollars this week.
So if you can go over to Bailey Brown's Instagram,
I'm sure she has a link up there. Her dad
(05:55):
passed away from pacretic cancer three years ago, three years
ago to this week, so this is her way of
honoring her dad's She has a Purple Stride team. So
there is a walker run for pancreatic cancer. It's on
April twenty fifth. She definitely wants to raise this amount
of money, and eight dollars totally Doable's let's help her
(06:20):
out here. She wants to raise it by that, but
specifically if she can do it this week, because it's
been three weeks this week since her dad passed away
for pancreatic cancer.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Can I just say that for people coming off of
reality shows, especially them right they're just fresh off of Paradise,
And I understand totally that this is a personal connection
to Bailey, but this is the kind of stuff that
I love to see reality stars using their platforms for.
(06:51):
If you are given a huge following or if you
have eyes on you, like nine times out of ten,
I don't want to see you doing a hall.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
I want to see you.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
I know, I many messages that are like important to
you and can help lives and like help spread awareness
on something.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
So you know, for somebody like me.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Who walked away from watching Paradise and wasn't maybe the
biggest fan of Jeremy, I saw this, I was like.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
God, Jeremy, I actually really.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Like that you're doing this, that you're supporting your girlfriend,
that you guys are giving back to something that is
personally connected to her and her family and can really
help others. So if anybody listening is able to donate
and help, I think this is a great cause and
I really commend them for using their platforms for good.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yes, and the link to donate to her Purple Stride
team is on her Instagram bio and her instagram if
you guys don't follow her is Bailey Taylor Brown. Yep, guys,
thank you for putting that out there. I'm so so
sorry to Bailey for losing her dad this way. I
paning your outic cancer is the absolute worst.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Oh. In other sad news.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Caitlyn Bursto has an update on her dog Pino. Who
you know, Pino and Rabin are just like pretty they're
pretty famous dogs and if you follow Caitlin, you know
how much her dogs mean to her. She got some
really sad news last week at the vet. Cardiologist found
out that he has he has heart disease and she's
(08:26):
not sure whether it's genetic or not. Doesn't know if
it's like something they can, like, you know, treat I've
got to text her and see if they figure that
one out yet, because I know she posted about this,
I think on Thursday night. But she's going to be
doing everything she can to help Pino live as long
as he can medicine, acupuncture, settlements. She said, I don't
(08:47):
even know how I'm gonna do this, but even extra love.
And she's very sweet. She says that like she's trying
not to let her sad energy affect Pino. I have
great faith that if anybody can extended dog's life expectancy,
it'll be Kitlin.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
This one kind of pull.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Up my heart strings just because I know Caitlin has
been through so much publicly in the last few years,
and how much these dogs have been her support system
through this, through all of her different transitions. And so
we're all, you know, thinking about Pino and wishing him
a safe and healthy recovery. For something like this, it's
(09:25):
absolutely awful. I'm sure all dog parents feel the same.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
And I just met him, you know, for the first time,
a couple of weeks ago, and he's just wonderful and like,
you know, his brother Rama needs him there for sure.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Those guys are attached to the hip. It's so sweet.
All right, Leah Kenyon. You guys know Leah from Joey's season.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
In this past season of Bachelor and Paradise, she teased
last month that she's seeing someone new and now she's
on TikTok talking about where they are at in their relationship.
She said, I don't know how to date casually, like
are you in love with me or or not? I
only know how to be a wife. No, I need
(10:08):
your opinion on this because I'm a little concerned, just
because I have. I will tell you I'm concerned after
I tell you what she did. So she says, me
and this guy are yapping it up. Why do I
hate the expression yapping it up like that?
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Just?
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Oh? I hate I hate when it's like this and yap. Oh,
I hate it.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I don't know why grinds my gears and yeah, yeah,
you know, like on Instagram when people are like they'll
be like cheersing, or they'll be like watching something and
they'll be like this and yap.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
I've literally never heard that before in my life.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
That's hilarious. Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
It's like it's supposed to be like gossip basically like
this and gossip or like this and just chatting with
your girls. You know, Oh my god, I can't stand
the expression yap.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
Yeah, it's like ghack, like throwing up like yippy yap.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
So this is okay.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
But she says, me and this guy are yapping it up,
so that just like oh. And then she goes, we're
talking and he told me he got sick, and I'm
going to drop off a baggie and it says feel better.
So then she shows everybody what she's putting together for
her boyfriend, her her situationship.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
The guy she's talking to.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
We don't know if there's a label on it, because
she doesn't call him boyfriend. She said, I have a
ginger shot that I made a homemade ginger shot, a
bag of green tea day, Quill Night, Quill Emergencies, a
sour dough Baggette, French free, faraflu zycam and Vapo rub.
(11:50):
I'm Filipino and we vapo rub. I wrote on the bag,
get better kicked. If this man is not my husband,
I'm going to institutionalize myself. At least she has a
sense of humor about that. She's a little tongue of jake,
a little aware that this maybe be going above and
beyond the amount of CBS.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
But we also need to break this down a little bit.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Okay, yeah, okay, go for it.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Dairy when somebody is sick is definitely not the move.
If I'm sick and somebody sends me brie and a baguette,
I don't know. I think that's flem inducing.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
I think it is.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
It is, but I don't think about that when I'm sick.
I'm just like, give me whatever I'll eat, and a
grilled cheese.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Is usually high up on the list.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
I'm sorry, a brie grilled cheese.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
No, a regular grilled cheese, like an American grilled cheese.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Okay, but like, what's he doing with brie and a baguette?
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Like are we just making fun right now? Because I
don't want to just make it.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
I'm being serious, Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
I think she's just thinking like, oh, it's a cute
little snack. But yes, you are correct to be technical
about it.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
I just am like, where's where's the soup? Like, where's
the soup?
Speaker 4 (13:03):
This soup?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Well, where is the soup seed?
Speaker 2 (13:05):
When she said sour Joe baguette, I was like, oh,
to dip in the soup, And you're right, the soup
isn't even on the list.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
I'm a little confused, Leah.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
I'm a little confused by this get well list.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
You had me until you said.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Bagett and Bree. Everything else seems good. It's I'm just confused.
Speaker 6 (13:32):
Halloween is around the corner, and your favorite podcaster are
serving up episodes that are so good it's actually scary.
Sex and the City meets Severance when Adam Scott joins
Kristin Davis to discuss the haunting relationship between Big and
Natasha on Are You a Charlotte?
Speaker 3 (13:47):
And nine one one?
Speaker 6 (13:48):
What's Your Emergency? The new episode of Call It What
It Is? Of course nine to one one. Nashville co
star Kimberly Williams Paisley joins Jessica Capshaw and Camila Leddington
to talk about her health scare, her superstar hubby Brad Paisley,
and her memories on the set of Father of the
Bride with a legendary Diane Keaton Oscar winner Ree Larsen
is a.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Work in progress.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
Sophia Bush finds out why, and Walt's right over to
daniel with because Danielle Fischel has fellow Dancing with the
Stars contestant Dylan Effron on to talk about the ballroom,
the leaderboard, and more. Listen now on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Heather, I did a little break.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
We went and we watched the actual TikTok, and now
Heather has more thoughts.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
My guess would be that it's early in the relationship
and maybe they've had a charcuterie board or something at
some point, and she's like, I know what he likes,
bree cheese. I'm gonna send him brie and a baguette.
Or maybe my second theory is, oh, do you need
some help eating that brie and that baguette?
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Maybe I can be.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Your nurse and I can have something to nibble on
while I mean, these are my theories. Leah, this is
what I'm going with, because otherwise, when you're sick, why
would you send Brian a big get?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Okay, so I am not as phased by this cheese sampling.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
However, I am scarred.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
This is what I was referring to earlier because one time,
when Jared and I knew each other well, we were
friends obviously, and I loved him, but we weren't together
and I don't think that.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yeah, I don't think that.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
We I don't know if I found out about this
story until we were together or not.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Because it had to do with him talking to another girl.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
So he was talking to another girl, and he also
casually mentioned he wasn't also very into the other girl,
or so I was told, and like, I think that
maybe they.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Were supposed to meet up. No, no, no, they weren't.
She lived in Florida, so okay.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
So he's chatting with some probably Bachelor fan in Florida,
and he thought he was cute yapping yeah with the Bachelor.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Fan and and this girl.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Ends up sending Chinese wanton soup to his house at
nine o'clock at night. He gets a knock on the
door and they were like Chinese delivery and he's like
what and he's like, somebody sent you wanton soup? Oh
I remember now. Because he wasn't comfortable giving out his address,
(16:27):
he gave his parents address. So then his parents call
and they're like, Jared, why did you order Chinese food
or Chinese soup to our house at nine? And he
was like, oh my gosh, it was this girl because
he said he wasn't feeling good and like I don't eat,
like that sounds like something I would do. So like
(16:49):
the thing is this that girl just like sent soup,
which is kind of adorable and also like in a
way heartbreaking, just because like I know Jared and like
he probably like wasn't that into this girl and she
just was being thoughtful and cute and then he was like,
oh gosh, I don't really like her, and she made
this really sweet gesture. So I just like felt in
(17:11):
that moment like that could be me. And that's why
I'll remember that story forever. And this is kind and
because I knew that he was like not really into her,
that like I just have like a little concern for Leah,
that maybe she was just yapping it up with this
guy and then like he didn't really feel like seeing her,
(17:35):
And maybe.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
I'm totally wrong.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
There's a good case I'm totally wrong when I say this,
but maybe he just didn't feel.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Like hanging and then he was sick and then she
dropped off a whole CBS.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
She spent a lot of a lot of dollars at
CBS with the amount of fresh things that she bought.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Let's not forget she made the ginger shot. Yeah, so
that's appealing.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Pulsing in the blender, you know, and then bodling. That's
a lot of steps for a ginger shot. I'm going
to say, Leah, you do sound like wifey.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Material one thousand percent, like you are going to care
a man so well one day.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
And I want to know what care package are you
getting from this guy in return once he is well,
because if the answer is nothing, then.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Stop yapping, bye bye.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
This guy is gone if he does not give you
a care package as a return gift.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yes, now, Leah again, like I'm sorry, we are not
really making fun of you here, but just not I
We're really not, because like this is like deep care,
and you did make fun of yourself for possibly being
institutionalized after this.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
I just am worried.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
It was a little early to use this much effort,
and I really hope that it pays off and that
you guys are more serious than like it may seem,
because when you're just yapping, it makes me a little
concerned that like this is going to freak him out
and that maybe he doesn't deserve all your time.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Okay, that was a lot.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
On one thing, but now we'll move on to somebody
who is currently actually wifey material because she's an engaged woman,
Daisy Kent. She got engaged last week. We talked about that.
Congratulations to her in Thor. They're thinking that they're going
to get married this time ish next winter, next winter,
(19:28):
and she said that she's surprised that she wants to
get a winter wedding, but her sister had one, so
it was so beautiful.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
That she now wants to have one.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
She's thinking maybe Utah because that's where she and Thor
rekindled their love, and they're thinking that they want to
do something that isn't like a major city where people
will have a lot of hotels and they'll be able
to fly in and now easily. Because she said that
they are going to have a pretty big wedding because
they have big families and a lot of friends, especially
(19:59):
from colleg We all know that she has, well we
probably don't all know. She actually has a podcast right
now with I Heart about sororities fraternities, So they have
the whole sorority and fraternity basically having to come to
their wedding. So they.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
They're hoping to do.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It at a big winter wedding venue in Utah or Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Have you ever been to a winter wedding because I haven't,
and I honestly think that they're pretty unique and cool.
I think everybody gets married in August, right, because.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
I got married in August.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
I see, I am a summer girl, Like I feel
pretty when I'm sweating, so like it had to be
it had to be a severer things like that's what
I feel pretty is is like a little sticky in
like a saltwater environment. But I totally see Daisy looking
beautiful as a winter bride.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
Yeah, kind of like giving elsa vibes or something.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Or yes, yes, Jade and Tanner had a winter wedding,
but it was in southern California, so it.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Did get cold. We were out there freezing.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
It was probably like fifty, but it's fifty, you know,
and it wasn't gonna snow.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I had like one friend who got married in New
Jersey in like February, and I actually didn't go to
the wedding. I was invited, but I remember seeing her
wedding photos and the snow and everything, and I was like,
this is freaking beautiful, Like why don't more people have
winter weddings? I think it's stunning. I'm sure people in
(21:32):
Canada do, and I'm sure people on the East coast do,
but on the West Coast, I really don't see it
that often. And when I saw this headline, I was like,
that's pretty cool, Daisy, Like, I think that that's really
unique and neat.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
That is cool.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
I don't thank you about all the weddings that I've
been to, And it's so crazy the way that people
like kind of like x out any month in like December, December, January, February, March, April,
like those are just like off the table for weddings totally.
That's so funny. All right, Well, Heather, thank you so
much for joining me. You will also be joining me
(22:06):
on another podcast that we're about to record about our
first impressions of the New Bachelorette cast, So stay tuned
for that. It'll be full of judgment. We know you
guys love those episodes. Love you so much. Until next time,
I've been, Ashley, I've been Heather.
