Its tax season again. Tax prep experts advise avoiding snail
mail for a quicker IRS refund. More from Sara Lee Kessler.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
If you're looking for the quickest tax refund and who's not,
you should file as soon as possible. But orn Adler,
a CPA in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, says that's not all.
It's just step one. Here's step two.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Absolutely, The fastest and most compliant way to get a
refund is electronic filing, either through your tax repair or
through free filing. But doing everything electronically and digitally is
the fastest way to get your money back?
Speaker 4 (03:24):
And how long does that take?
Speaker 5 (03:26):
Usually the IRS will refund your money within three to
five days. There's no assurance of that, but the money
comes relatively quicker from the IRS.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
But if you go the old fashioned route and file
using snail mail, Adler says you could wait two months
for a refund from the IRS. As for your state refund,
that depends where you live, but expect to wait a month.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
He says.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
