The San Diego area is recovering from a five point
to earthquake. San Diego Police Lieutenant Daniel Mayer was on
call when it hit and says thankfully his city is okay.
Daniel was doing really well down here at police headquarters.
We definitely felt it, you know, are anytime.

We're going to have a five point or plus earthquake,
it's kind of hard not to feel it. Of course.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
The USGS says it struck at ten oh eight am
local time northeast of San Diego in the city of Julian.
Elizabeth Cochran of the USGS as Southern California isn't out
of the woods yet. With an earthquake of this size,
there's an expectation that we will have many aftershocks occurring
in the next few.

Days to week.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Authority say there are reports of minor damage, but there
are no injuries. Several aftershocks are being reported, with the
USGS saying the most powerful of the aftershocks a magnitude
four point zero. Some public rail lines have been temporarily
closed for inspections. The president of al Salvas rejecting calls
to return a mistakenly deported man to the US. David
Noriege reports.

It is a huge development in this case for Najibukel,
the Salvadorn president, to have said so plainly that he
has no intention of trying to return ob got to
see up to the United States, because the US government's
legal position in this case this entire time has been
that they don't have the authority. Now that AE as

the authority to bring him back.

Stocks are up and down today following President Trump's announcement
of surprise tariff exemptions. The major averages opened higher, shifted lower,
and ever risen back up in today's session. Trump announced
exemptions on smartphones, computers, and semiconductors. However, Commerce Secretary Howard
Lutnik said the exemptions are not permanent. Police have charged
one man in connection to an early Sunday morning fire

at the Pennsylvania governor's mansion. According to the Pennsylvania State Police,
firefighters responded to the Harrisburg residence of Governor Josh Shapiro,
who says his family was home at the time, but
were able to escape unharmed. Police say Cody Ballmer hopped
offense and set the fire. Charged him today with criminal
attempted murder, terrorism aggravated. Arson and Moore. I'm Lisa Taylor.

The Menendez brothers aunt is in a New Jersey hospital
and critical condition after graphic photos were shown without warning
in court last week ahead of the brothers re sentencing
on Thursday. Kristen Marx reports.

Terry Berralt was found unresponsive in her hotel room in
Los Angeles over the weekend. According to TMZ, the eighty
five year old New Jersey resident recently publicly voiced her
support for the release of Eric and Lyle Menendez, saying
thirty five years is long enough. The brothers, who claim
they were sexually abused, are serving life in prison without
the possibility of parole. And the deadly shooting of their parents,

Jose and Kitty Menendez, family attorney Brian Friedman blames prosecutors
for showing gruesome photos of Jose Menendez's lifeless body and
alleges at the trauma led to Berrault's condition. She's his
sister and suffers from colon cancer. The lada's office has apologized.

The price of eggs is at a record level ahead
of Easter. Stephanie Goss reports that the average price of
a dozen eggs is now at an all time high
of six dollars and twenty three cents. While soaring cocoa prices,
they are making chocolate more expensive.

It's all part of the reason why this year, US
consumers are projected to spend a total of twenty three
point six billion dollars on Easter, up from twenty two
point four billion last year. The biggest spending categories decorations, gifts, food,
and candy.

And economists warned that prices could go even higher in
the weeks ahead. Some consumers are looking for alternatives to
eggs this year and plan to die marshmallows, potatoes or
fake eggs bought in craft stores instead. History has been

Witnesses say he stripped down and climbed a building, exposing
himself to everyone below. The Anaheim Police Department arrested him
on suspicion of trespas, public nudity and being under the
