and arson following an early morning fire at the Pennsylvania
Governor's mansion Ark Mayfield with More.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Governor Josh Shapiro says the violence needs to stop. This
kind of violence is becoming far too common in our society,
and I don't give a damn if it's coming from
one particular side or the other. According to the Pennsylvania
State Police, firefighters responded to the Herrisburg residents of Shapiro
at about two am. Shapiro says his family was home

(01:22):
at the time but were able to escape unharmed. He
went on to say the attack was targeted, but a
specific motive was not known. Pennsylvania State Police said, while
it's an ongoing investigation, they do believe it was an
act of arson.

Speaker 2 (01:33):

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Pop star Katie Perry and co host of CBS Morning's
Gao King were among the six notables on board of
Blue Origin flight. Both Perry and King kissed the ground
when they emerged from the capsule. King was breathless. Oh that,
I'm Michael Kassner. The tax filing deadline is fast approaching.

(02:08):
More from Lisa Carton.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
For most Americans, it's Tuesday, April fifteenth. However, the IRS
as citizens impacted by natural disasters in twelve states, have
automatic tax extensions to file and pay their twenty twenty
four taxes. Some extensions only apply to certain areas within
those states to find out whether or not you qualify
for an extension. The IRS website has a page listing

(02:31):
the delayed deadlines. You've heard the saying a fool and
his money are soon parted the rest of us wait
until income tax time. And if you think you can
keep everything to yourself, the IRS doesn't.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Taxpayers can file fast and free. Natalie Migliori with more Direct.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Files started out as a pilot program last year and
it's now expanding to twenty five states, with IRS spokesman
Raphile to Lino saying more than thirty million people are
eligible to use the reservice and filed directly with the IRS.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
It's expanded. I'm talking about direct file from last year
to include more income streams, if you will, or different
types of income and then different credits, more credit to
eligibility wise. As we are in our second year for
direct File.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Tolino says a few hundred thousand people used the service
last year.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
As we get into this year, we hope more people
will be using a direct file should they find themselves
eligible and want to use it as an option.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
He notes Direct file is different than free file, which
allows taxpayers who make eighty four thousand dollars a year
or less to use their choice of software to file
their taxes. THERS expects or process one hundred and sixty
five million tax returns this year.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
A Minecraft Movie continues at number one in the box
office for the second weekend in a row. Last weekend,
it brought in over one hundred sixty million dollars eighty
million dollars for the second weekend and grossing five hundred
and fifty million internationally. I'm Michael Cassner.
