latest use this hour at just four minutes. The Chairman
of the Federal Reserve says he expects inflation to rise
and economic growth to slow due to tariffs.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
The level of tariff increases announced so far is significantly
larger than anticipated, and the same is likely to be
true of the economic effects, which will include higher inflation
and slower growth.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Speaking at the Economic Club of Chicago, Jerome Powell said
the Fed may find themselves in a tough situation where
their goals to control inflation and support growth in the
economy are intentioned. He said if that scenario of where
to happen, the Central Bank would have to see how
far the economy is from both goals and how much
time they would need when making interest rate decisions. President
Trump says his administration is fighting what he called anti

Christian bias in the US. Trump held an Easter prayer
service Wednesday night in the Blue Room of the White House,
attended by religious leaders like the Reverend Franklin Graham and
White House Faith Advisor PAULA White. So there's so much
to celebrate this Easter.

Trump also promoted his new White House Faith Office as
holy continues. The White House is expected to host a
passover event today to celebrate the Jewish holiday that ends
this weekend. The Trump administration asking the IRS to revoke
Harvard University's tax exempt status. The request comes amid President
Trump's revocation of federal funding from Harvard after the school

refused to cave to his political demands. Tax Exempt status
is typically given to charitable, religious, and educational organizations that
adhere to tax laws that prohibit them from engaging in
certain political activities. Despite there being no proof that Harvard
violated those guardrails, the Treasury Department requested their tax exempt
status still be removed. And Lift is venturing over to Europe.

The Rhine hailing service announced Wednesday that it's acquiring Free Now.
It's a European taxi app which serves nine countries, including
the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Italy. LIFT says the deal
is worth nearly two hundred million dollars. I'm Mark Mayfield,
Maryland Senator Chris Van Holland says El Salvador denied his
request to speak or meet with the Maryland man who
is mistakenly deported to the country. Brian Schuk has more.

The Democrat traveled to L Salvador Wednesday to try to
secure the return of Kilmar Abrago Garcia. The Department of
Justice has said Abrego Garcia was in the country illegally
and a member of the MS thirteen gang. Van Holland
said the vice president of El Salvador told him the
government does not have information linking a Brago Garcia with

MS thirteen. The Supreme Court ruled last week the Trump
administration must facilitate a Brago Garcia's return to the US.

Top European officials are bracing for President Trump's meeting with
the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Maloney. Maloney will be in Washington,
DC today for trade discussions. Besides being Italy's Prime minister,
Maloney has ties to the country's far right party, and
official say she's poised to negotiate with Trump on behalf
of both Italy and Europe as a whole. A State
Department official says many European countries are wary of Maloney's

right wing beliefs, but are hopeful that she could nudge
Trump towards a trade deal. Stanford University and Princeton are
joining Harvard in responding to the Trump administration's demands. Tammy
Truio reports.

The administration is requiring Harvard to eliminate DEI programs impacting
hiring and admissions.

Very important for universities to stand together, especially private universities,
at a time in which the Trump administration is trying
to get these universities to bend to its own ideological views.

thirty nine year old Buffy the Vampire and Slayers Star
