Lawmakers will be brief starting today on the US air
strikes in Iran. The Senate receives a classified briefing today,
with the House set to follow on Friday. This comes
after a leaked intelligence report suggests the strike's only delayed
Iran's nuclear program by a few months, not destroyed it,
as President Trump has claimed. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will

also hold a press conference this morning. Senate Minority Leader
Chuck Schumer is back on Capitol Hill after being rushed
to the hospital Wednesday morning. Sarah Lee Kessler with more.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Schumer was at the Senate Jim for his morning workout
when he said he was feeling lightheaded. His spokesperson said
the seventy four year old Democrat was taken to the
hospital out of an abundance of caution. Turns out he
was dehydrated. Schumer is now reminding people to drink water
and day out of the heat. I'm Sarah Lee Kessler.

The IFAA says it's investigating after an American Airlines flight
was forced to return to Las Vegas Wednesday morning after
flames and smoke came out of one of the engines.

Light sixteen sixty five was headed for Charlotte with one
hundred and fifty three passengers on board, but had to
turn around and land minutes after takeoff. The jet taxi
to the gate under its own power, and passengers deplaned normally.
The airline says the Airbus A three twenty one had
a mechanical issue and it's been taken out of service.

Researchers at Stanford University have some good news and some
bad news about heart disease in the US. More from
Tammy Trhiel.

The good news is deaths from heart attacks have dropped
nearly ninety percent over the past fifty years. The bad
news is death from all other types of heart disease
have risen over eighty percent. The study analyzed government data
on heart disease from nineteen seventy to twenty twenty two
and found that fewer people in the US are dying
from heart attacks, but more are losing their lives to hypertension, arrhythmia,
and heart failure. The research said possible risk factors include obesity,

physical inactivity, and poor food choices.

Sean didty Combe sex crimes trial in New York, after
the prosecution announced its dropping some charges more from Kristen Marx.

being indicted.

Brian Shook reports a federal grand jury came back with
twelve hate crime counts against Mohammed Solomon, up from the
one he was already charged with. He's also facing state charges,
including attempted murder. Prosecutors alleged that he had plotted his
attack earlier this month for over a year and wanted
to kill his victims.

Season four of The Bear is now streaming. The hit
drama has won twenty one Emmy Awards, including two for
star Jeremy Allen White, who plays a chef running a
Chicago sandwich shop. A Michael Cassner
