years old that we're still identifying, a seven year old
male child, a four year old female child.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
The historic floods hit the small mountain community located one
hundred and eighty miles south of Albuquerque, yesterday, with the
Riodoso River cresting at twenty feet. There were dozens of
water rescues while rescue operations took place throughout the night.
Crawford says three people have been hospitalized. He added multiple
emergency warnings were sent out all day yesterday, but the
outdoor system wasn't activated. He said that's because the flooding
(01:12):
was confined to a small area and activating sirens would
have led to a large scale evacuation. California Governor Gavin
Newsom is on a two day tour of South Carolina.
Speaking to state Democrats, he painted himself as the anti Trump.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
We cannot let him win, and we cannot allow him
to win, so that's.

Newsom has repeatedly been asked about his political plans, and
he has downplayed a potential run for the White House.
South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn may have let the cat

hit under Mount Rainier in Washington State, hundreds of small
earthquakes were felt across a wide area of the mountain.
The US Geological Survey says the earthquakes alone aren't a
(02:19):
cause for concern. Wild honeybees are posing a potential threat
to southern California's natural ecosystems. A new study published in
Insect Conservation and Diversity found wild honeybees are devouring the
food supplies of native pollinators or moving about eighty percent
of pollen during the first day of a flower opening.
Researchers say if the pollen and nectar fueling honeybee biomass
(02:41):
was instead converted to native bees, those populations would be
about fifty times larger than they currently are. According to researchers,
the extreme level of honeybee pollen exploitation is a potential danger,
and they concluded that public concern for honeybees often fails
to consider their potential negative effects on native pollinators. An
appeals court is throwing out a rule that was supposed
(03:03):
to make it easier to cancel things like subscriptions to
streaming services. Mark Mayfield explains.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
The Federal Trade Commissions so called Clinck to Cancel rule
was announced in twenty twenty four, with the goal of
making it just as easy to cancel something as it
was to enroll. It was set to take effect in
a few days, but the court on Tuesday said the
agency hadn't done a proper regulatory analysis of the rule
that's required when the impact on the economy is more
than one hundred million dollars. The FTC argued that its
(03:31):
initial estimate of the economic impact was less than the
one hundred million dollar threshold.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
