Storms are impacting millions, with flash flood warnings out Monday
for parts of New York City and New Jersey, where
Governor Phil Murphy declared the state of emergency. The storm
systems sent floodwaters rushing through New York subway stations. Meanwhile,
in Texas, rain is hampering recovery efforts in the flood

ravaged Texas Hill Country. Search and rescue efforts were put
on hold on Monday after a storm system brought more
dangerous conditions to central Texas, where over one hundred and
sixty people are still missing after July fourth floods claimed
some one hundred thirty lives. The Supreme Court is allowing
the Trump administration to resume layoffs at the Department of Education.

Donald Trump threatened very severe tariffs against Russia if there
was no ceasefire deal in the next fifty days. He
said they would be secondary tariffs at a rate of
about one hundred percent. Those tariffs are likely to be
placed against countries that trade with Russia, the likes of China, India,
and Brazil that by discounted oil and gas from Moscow.

And under the new agreement with NATO, the US will
now offer weapons to Ukraine that NATO members will buy
and then pass on to Kiev.

ticking higher. I'm Michael Kasner. A SpaceX spacecraft with four
astronauts on board has successfully splashed down off the coast
to San Diego, California. Daniel Martindale reports.

The dragon and capsule returned to Earth at two thirty
one this morning. The craft innduct from the International Space
Station on Monday morning, taking a twenty two and a
half hour journey back to Earth. Axium Mission four started
on June twenty fifth. The astronauts were on the ISS
for about eighteen days. The capsule also returned with more
than five hundred and eighty pounds of cargo, including data
from dozens of experiments.

Meta says it's going to crack down on unoriginal posts
on Facebook, those that use other people's text and photos

Jensen Wang said the United States should invest more in manufacturing.
Months ago, President Trump announced a six hundred million dollar
investment into chip making technology in the US courtesy of
Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturing company. California based in Vidia currently has
chip manufacturing plants in Arizona and Texas.
