New York City police are investigating a possible associate of
the suspect behind the shooting that left four people dead,
including a police officer, Chris Keragio, reports.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Mayor Eric Adams says pieces of the semi automatic rifle
used in the killings were bought by an associate of
suspect Shane Timura, and detectives are working to id that person.
Adams called it an evolving investigation. Reports say Timura appeared
to be targeting the NFL headquarters and had a note
claiming he suffered from CTE, a brain disease linked to

Extreme heat is blanketing the eastern half of the US.
About one hundred and eighty five million people are under
a massive heat dome that's causing temperatures to skyrocket. The
tariff deadline for China has not yet been extended. The
US and China ended discussions in Sweden today after two
days of trade talks, and President Trump was optimistic about

I just heard from Scott that the meeting went very
well today with China.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
A Chinese official had said the tariff truce was extended,
but US Trade representative Jamison Greer said that's not the
case yet. Attorneys for Sewn Ditty Combs are seeking his
release from jail ahead of sentencing. In a twelve page
letter to the judge, Ditty's lawyers claim the rap music
mugul should not remain incarcerated for the transportation to engage

in prostitution counts he was convicted of back on July second,
noting there are exceptional reasons that justify his release. It's
going to be tougher to book a flight on Spirit Airlines.
The airline is preparing for a smaller flight schedule after
it announced plans to furlough two hundred and seventy pilots
this fall, as well as demote one hundred and forty

pilots from captain to first officer. Spirit Airlines emerged from
Chapter eleven bankruptcy and March, but the industry is now
facing weaker than expected demand for coach class tickets. I'm

That's according to a new report from the Substance Abuse
in Mental Health Services Administration that found ten percent of
people twelve to seventeen had serious thoughts of killing themselves
in twenty twenty four, down nearly three percent from twenty
twenty one. Additionally, the number of depressive episodes was on
the decline. The report also found that just over half
of adults with mental illness saw treatment last year more

Philanthropist Wallace Annenberg is that at the age of eighty six,
Mark Mayfield has the story.

The Los Angeles Times reports that she was battling lung cancer.
Annenberg was the heir to her father, Walter and Burgh's
publishing empire, including TV Guide. She took over as president
and CEO of the Annenberg Foundation after his death in
two thousand and two. Through donations, the Ennenburg name is
visible across Los Angeles County, including on a performing arts
center in Beverly Hills and the wildlife crossing being constructed

in Agora Hills. Wallace Anenberg was also responsible for the
one hundred and twenty million dollar donation that led to
the founding of the Ninburg School for Communication and Journalism
at USC in nineteen ninety three a Mark Mayfield. Some
dog breeds seem to be more likely than others to
beg for and steal food. A new study in the
American Journal of Veterinary Research found sporting dogs like Labradors

and Golden Retrievers are more likely to try and scam
some extra food. Hound dogs were next on the list.
Other non sporting breeds like bulldogs and poodles were actually
less likely than the average dog when it came to
begging for scraps. Dogs who live in homes with other
dogs were also more likely to try and get extra food.
