This is your twenty four to seven use update. The

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Time is ticking down as President Trump's tariff deadline is tomorrow.
Trump has so far refused to offer deadline extensions as
he pushes for countries around the world to agree to
trade deals, with Mexico being the lone exception. Widespread storms
are bringing the threat of potential floods in the mid
Atlantic and Northeast. It's all due to a cold front

(00:31):
moving across the region that's bringing colder temperatures after a
heat dome baked the eastern part of the country earlier
this week. The White House says Hillary Clinton approved what
they call the Russia hoax. Spokesperson Caroline Levitt is referring
to the recently declassified documents from the Russia investigation.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Her campaign financed it again, she approved it, and the
FBI and the CIA were both weaponized to, as our
director of CIA has said, accelerate this hope against then
candidate and former President Trump.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
June saw an increase in inflation. The Personal Consumption Expenditures
Price Index, a key inflation gauge used by the Federal Reserve,
rose three tenths of a percent, the biggest increase in
four months. President Trump says he's bringing back the Presidential
Fitness Test to schools across the US.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
It was a mainstay in public schools from the nineteen
sixties to twenty twelve, with kids required to do push
ups or pull up sit ups, a mile run, and
a sit in reach where you sit on the ground
and reach for your toes. Former President Obama replaced it
with an assessment focused more on personal health. But now
Trump has signed in executive order bringing the fitness test
back to public schools. You'll also re establish the President's

(01:43):
Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, which we'll partner with
professional athletes and sports organizations. I'm Monica Nelson.

Speaker 2 (01:50):

from acute myocardial infarction. I'm Brian Schuck, a New Mexico judge,
has dismissed a lawsuit by Alec Baldwin alleging he was

(02:12):
maliciously prosecuted for the death of a crew member on
his recent film. The actor filed a lawsuit earlier this year,
alleging he had become a celebrity scapegoat for the twenty
twenty one death of cinematographer Helena Hutchins during the filming
of the movie Rust Peta is accusing the Main Lobster
Festival of torturing lobsters. Mark Mayfield has more.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
The animal rights group filed a lawsuit in Maine last
week accusing the annual Lobster Festival of engaging in large
scale animal cruelty. The suit claims that sixteen thousand lobsters
are boiled alive each year at the festival and seeking
a permanent injunction prohibiting the steaming of live lobsters on
public land. Organizers of the Lobster Fest say Main's laws

(02:57):
do not prohibit the traditional preparation of lobs and that
the state is not recognized boiling or steaming lobsters as
a violation of its animal welfare laws. I'm Mark Neefield.

Speaker 2 (03:08):

who typically have differing opinions will become visible to others.
TikTok first announced in April that it was testing footnotes,
and it follows moves by other major platforms, including x

new safety and well being features, including parental oversight of
teen accounts and tools to allow creators to filter out

(03:41):
certain comments. I'm at Mattinson.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Meta's Mark Zuckerberg hints Meta will not open source its
developing artificial superintelligence. In a posted letter, Zuckerberg hailed the
personal empowerment of superintelligence, but says the source code should
not be made freely available to mitigate safety and other concerns.
