The threat of severe weather and potential floods is impacting
millions in the mid Atlantic and the Northeast. Floodwatches are
in place from Virginia to Connecticut, with Washington, d C, Philadelphia,
and New York City all impacted. It's all due to
a cold front moving across the region as bringing colder temperatures.
After a heat dome baked the eastern part of the
country earlier this week, a groundstop was issued for Philadelphia

International Airport, with ground delays happening at other East Coast
airports as well. The Trump administration is finalizing reciprocal tariffs
on dozens of countries. Mark Mayfield has details.

The president announced he has given Mexico a ninety day
extension after he spoke with that country's president earlier this week.
Trump refused to offer deadline extensions as he pushes for
countries around the world to agree to trade deals. Deals
so far have been agreed to with the European Union,
the UK, Japan, and South Korea, among others. On Wednesday,
Trump announced twenty five percent tariff against India, with eight

penalty due to what he said was them buying military
equipment and energy from Russia. A deal was also reached
with Canada raising tariffs from twenty five to thirty five
percent by Mark Mayfield.

The launch of NASA's SpaceX Crew eleven is delayed. According
to the Space Agency, the planned Thursday launch was scrub
due to bad weather. Launch of CREWE eleven is now
tentatively planned for this morning at eleven forty three am
Eastern from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The crew
will spend six months on the ISS, where they'll be
conducting research, maintenance, and doing other related projects. The astronauts

will travel and are reused SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, making its
sixth mission. The Fantastic four First Steps is expected to
take first place for the second straight week at the
box office. The Marvel Studios film is looking to make
as much as fifty two million in its sophomore outing. Meanwhile,
the reboot of The Naked Guns starring Liam Neeson and
Pamela Anderson, is projected to make as much as seventeen

million in its debut. The horror film Together, starring real
life couple Dave Franco and Allison Bree could take in
as much as ten million. They animated The Bad Guys
Too is looking to bring in at least twenty million
in its first weekend in theaters. I'm Tammy Trheo. The
Department of Justice is continuing to go after diversity, equity
and inclusion practices, Brian Shook reports.

According to a DOJ memo issued Tuesday, Attorney General Pam
Bondi is prepared to restrict funds to entities that use
DEI practices, which is likely to impact universities and K
through twelve schools. Bondi wrote in the memo, entities receiving
federal funds, like all other entities subject to federal anti
discrimination laws, must ensure that their programs and activities comply

The high price of pharmaceuticals has gotten the attention of
the White House. Spokesperson Caroline Levitt says the US pays
three times a price for drugs compared to other countries.
She says the President is sending out letters to the
CEOs of several big drug companies telling them it's an
unacceptable burden on hard working Americans. The letter, we'll be
asking for immediate relief and include a sixty day deadline.

One billion dollars in security assistance may be headed to Ukraine.
Chris Karagio has that story.

The Senator Appropriations Committee advanced legislation in a twenty six
to three vote that will provide eight hundred million dollars
in security assistance for Ukraine and two hundred and twenty
five million dollars in security assistance for Baltic countries. The
funds for Ukraine proved non controversial in Thursday's committee meeting,
as there's a bipartisan majority supporting Ukraine in the Congress.

Funding was included in the fiscal year twenty twenty six
Defense Appropriations legislation and was pushed by Senator Mitch McConnell

Over one hundred JC Penny stores are being sold to
a private equity firm for more than nine hundred million dollars.
The deal with Onyx consists of one hundred and nineteen stores,
including more than twenty in Texas, and comes five years
after the once popular department store declared bankruptcy. The deal
is set to close in September. All one hundred and
nineteen JCP Penny stores remain open, but it's not clear
