Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is your twenty four to seven use update. The
latest use this hour at just four minutes.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Texas House Democrats have vowed to keep fighting Republican efforts
to redraw the state's congressional map. Governor Greg Gabbott issued
civil arrest warrants for lawmakers who fled Texas to deny
the chamber a quorum. On Monday, over fifty Democrats went
to Illinois, New York, and Massachusetts to prevent the GOP
from quickly advancing the maps, aimed at adding up to
five seats ahead of the twenty twenty six midterms. At

(00:29):
a press conference in Illinois, those who left labeled the
proposed map racist, designed to dilute the voting power of
black and Hispanic communities. President Trump is calling last week's
jobs report rigged. In a post on truth Social Trump
compared the numbers to a job's report before the election
in November, which he said was also rigged. The president
said that's why in both reports there were record setting

(00:50):
revisions in favor of Democrats. Trump fired the head of
the Bureau of Labor Statistics following the week report and
said he'll pick an exceptional replacement for the job. The
report said the USA economy added just seventy three thousand
jobs last month, well below estimates. The acting head of
NASA's calling for a nuclear reactor on the Moon, Mark Mayfield,
has details.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy sent out a directive last Thursday
saying it's imperative to get it done quickly. Duffy says
a nuclear reactor on the Moon would support a future
lunary economy and strength in America's national security in space.
Duffy said China and Russia are planning to put a
reactor on the Moon by the mid twenty thirties, and
they could declare a keep out zone. He wants proposals

(01:30):
from commercial companies within sixty days, a Mark Mayfield.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
New research suggests you can take fewer daily steps and
still get health benefits. According to a study published in
The Lancet Public Health last month, seven thousand steps a day,
which is far less than the benchmark ten thousand, is
not only more realistic for some people, but just as beneficial.
Researchers analyzed dozens of studies that have been done worldwide
since twenty fourteen to consider the impact of how many

(01:55):
steps you take daily and other health outcomes. Whether it's
a step count, a time based goal, or just getting
up and moving during the day, experts say it's important
to do what you can commit to and stay consistent.
I'm Tammy Trheo. The Department of Justice is convening a
grand jury in the Russia election probe. Brian Shook reports.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Fox News says Attorney General Pam Bondi has signed off
on the move. It comes after Director of National Intelligence
Tulsey Gabbard released new documents she said proves former Obama
officials tried to sabotage President Trump in the twenty sixteen election.
Gabbart says the officials, acting on the direction of the
former president, suppressed evidence that showed there was no collusion

(02:36):
between President Trump and Russia. I'm Brian Shook.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Smoke from Canadian wildfires is causing parts of the US
to have poor air quality. The Upper Midwest and Northeast
are expected to be impacted into Tuesday. Over seven hundred
wildfires are raging in Canada, and at least eight states
from Maine to Wisconsin were under some sort of air
quality alert on Monday. Skies are expected to be hazy
from Green Bay into Detroit and New York City and
out to Boss. McDonald's is testing new beverage concepts at

(03:03):
five hundred US locations. Matt Mattinson has details.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
The fast food giant announced that the beverages will come
from its short lived drink focused spinoff restaurant Cosmics. Cold coffees,
fruity refreshers, crafted sodas, and energizing SIPs are expected to
be available at restaurants in Wisconsin, Colorado, and surrounding areas.
McDonald's chief Customer, Experience and Marketing officer issued a statement
calling to roll out a great opportunity to meet US

(03:29):
customers evolving tastes and show up in new moments. I'm
at Mattinson.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
The company behind chat GPT, says it's updating the app
so it can better detect mental or emotional distress. Open
AI says there have been instances where the AI model
fell short in recognizing signs of delusion or emotional dependency.
The update will now limit how much direct advice the
chatbot will offer about personal challenges. Instead, it will try

(03:54):
to help users decide for themselves. Chat GPT will also
now remind users to take a break if conversations have
gone on for a while. I'm Tammy Truhillo.
