President Trump is honoring nearly one hundred past Purple Heart recipients.
He's holding a ceremony at the White House marking National
Purple Heart Day. Some recipients in attendance include three veterans
who gave their Purple Heart medals to the President following
the assassination attempt on his life last year. And President
Trump's tariffs are now in effect for over sixty countries
and the European Union. A wide variety of products will

be hit, ranging from appliances to cars, to food and furniture.
In a post on truth Social just after things went
into effect, Trump said billions of dollars are now flowing
into the country. A helicopter crash on the Mississippi River
near Illinois has claimed the lives of two people. That
happened near Alton, about twenty five miles north of Saint Louis.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the helicopter hit power

lines before crashing into a barge. Pennsylvania State police say
two troopers were shot while responding to a call. Today,
Governor Josh Shapiro was speaking at an event when he
got worried about the shooting.

It happened on Route one seventy one in Susquehanna County
in the northeastern part of the state. The troopers were
taken to the hospital and are reportedly in stable condition.
Police say the scene remains very active and information on
the suspect will be released at a later time. Wall
Street is closing with stocks mixed. It comes as investors
are concerned about the impact of tariffs that went into

effect today. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones fell
by two hundred and twenty four points, the S and
P five hundred dropped by five points, and the NASDAK
gained seventy three points. Air qualities improving in portions of
the northeastern US today is smoke from the wildfires in
Canada start to drift, but Minnesota, Chicago, and other parts
of the midwester are still under air quality alerts. Experts

say breathing in air quality with an index of one
point fifty is comparable to smoking up to seven cigarettes
a day. About seven hundred wildfires are burning in the
Great White North. I'm Chris Kragio. More questions are being
raised after a woman in California had to be rescued
from a chimney, only to return to the same spot
the following day. It all started on Tuesday at a
municipal building at the City of San Fernando Recreation Center.

Firefighters found the woman, said to be about thirty years
of age, roughly three feet down the chimney. She was
lifted out using a fire truck ladder and lowered under
the roof of the building. She was conscious and alert
when she was loaded into the ambulance. Fast forward to Wednesday,
she ended up being arrested after authority say they found
her trying to climb back onto the same roof she
was plucked from the day before. The hit Broadway musical

found guilty last month on two prostitution related charges and
could get up to five years in prison when he

planning a comeback concert at Madison Square garden when he
gets out. He also said Combs is eager to get
