d C. Police Department has been placed under federal control
as part of President Trump's crackdown on crime. Speaking at
the White House this morning, Trump said he'll rescue Washington,
d C, calling today its Liberation Day. Trump is activating

the National Guard to help local law enforcement as part
of his plan, and added he'll send in the military
if needed. Also with the White House today, President Trump
reported that Ukraine's leader will not take part in his
upcoming summit with Vladimir Putin. Trump said he's unsure of
where Putin stands, but said he's very happy that Friday's
meeting is taking place in Alaska.

Multiple people are injured after an explosion at a US
steel plant in Pennsylvania. It happened at the US Clareton
Coke Works plant in Clareton, south of Pittsburgh, with the

bitten by a mountain lion outside of her home in Malibu.

She was rushed to a hospital after being bitten on
