has announced he's federalizing Washington, DC's police department as part
of his crime crackdown. Speaking at the White House Monday morning,
he said he will rescue Washington, d C, calling Monday
its Liberation Day. Trump is activating the National Guard to

added he will send in the military if needed. He
said they will be allowed to do their job properly.
The President went on to claim crime numbers in DC
are worse than places like Baghdad. President Trump is extending
the deadline for tariffs on China to go into effect.

Multiple reports say he signed an executive order just hours
before his pause on the higher tariffs was set to expire.
The executive order pushes back the deadline ninety days until
November ninth. The extension comes after US and Chinese officials
met last month. Had the pause not been extended, tariffs
on Chinese goods would have gone back up to the
highline seen in April.

More Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark
were murdered in June. The suspect, Van Spelter, pleaded not
guilty in federal court. The general election for the deep

A federal judge has rejected a request from the Department
of Justice to unseal grand jury materials from Geelane Maxwell's
sex trafficking case. The Justice Department has also sought to
release grand jury materials from cases involving Jeffrey Epstein in
New York, but asked judges overseeing the requests to refrain
from issuing a ruling until August the fourteenth. However, a
judge determined that unsealing the materials in Maxwell's case is

not a matter of historical or public interest, and said
much of the material being requested has already been made public,
and officials now say two people were killed in Monday's
explosion at a steel factory near Pittsburgh. One person who
had been missing was confirmed down on Monday night. At
least ten people were injured when the explosion happened just

Forecasters saying Tropical Storm Erin could become a hurricane toward
the end of the week. The storm is currently turning
in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, atter forming just west of
the Cabo Verde Islands. The National Hurricane Center set on
Monday afternoon that Erin's maximum sustained winds were nearly forty
five miles per hour. The storm is expected to head
westward toward the Northeast Caribbean. It's too early to tell
if this storm will impact the US coast. Three people

are dead in a shooting that happened at a target
store in Austin. Police Chief Lisa Davis as a suspect
carjacked to car, but then crashed as he tried to escape.
