The White House is reportedly considering a historic European capital
as a backdrop for the next round of peace talks
than the war in Ukraine. More from Rory O'Neil.

Both sides have yet to agree to a meeting, but
Politico was first to report that negotiations may take place
in Budapest, Hungary. The country is led by Victor Orban,
a staunch ally of President Trump, who may join leaders
from Ukraine and Russia for trilateral negotiations that could end
the war. Russia's foreign minister set on state run TV

Tuesday that Moscow hasn't ruled out talks with Ukraine, but
insisted that the process would unfold gradually. I'm Rory O'Neil.

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein is declaring a state of
emergency as Hurricane Erin threatens the coast with flooding and
high winds. Erin Gilcrest, with more.

Coastal flooding already impacting some areas along the outer banks,
Both Hatteras and Ocacoke Islands under mandatory evacuation orders, with
more than twenty one hundred people ferried off Oqucoke. Many
beachside rental properties threatened by Hurricane Erin now empty.

Residents are being warned to have emergency kits ready and
to listen to weather alerts. Erin, currently a Category two hurricane,
is as of last update, about five hundred miles south
southeast of Cape Hatteras. Israel's military is reportedly calling up
about sixty thousand reservists as it moves ahead with a
plan to take over Gaza City. Blake Sifton says the

word comes from officials as Israel studies a ceasfire proposal
put forward by mediators from Cutter and Egypt.

The military reportedly intends to first set up infrastructure in
southern Gaza to house display civilians before issuing evacuation orders
for the estimated one million Palestinians living in Gaza City.
The military would then siege Gaza City and launch its offensive.

Israel says the terms haven't changed. Release all of the
remaining hostages. I'm Michael Kassner, boxer Julio Seeser Chavez Junior
is jailed in Mexico after being deported from the US.

Documents from Mexican authority show he was arrested on Monday.
Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum says she doesn't know exactly when
he was deported. Chavez Junior is being jailed in Sonora.
Federal agents arrested him last month outside his Studio city
home on an active warrant in Mexico. The former WBC
middleweight champion was taken into custody four days after he
loss to influencer Jake Paul in a ten round fight

at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
