been twelve days since a murder in Washington, d C.
After President Trump's deployment of federal troops to the city.
DC police told The Washington Post in March that the
nation's capital went sixteen days without a murder, calling it
the longest period in at least six years. Meanwhile, the

DC Police Union is touting a drop in crime since
the arrival of the National Guard. Compared to the fourteen
days prior to the federal control, robbery is down forty
two percent and violent crime is down twenty five percent.
Parts of the Southwest are bracing for flooding as heavy
rain is expected to push through the area this week.

Forecasts indicate a surge of monsoonal moisture will push westward
after a ridge of high pressure shifted toward the central
Plains over the weekend. Thunderstorms may become more widespread across
the south West due to increased moisture in the atmosphere.
President Trump is planning to sue California over its congressional

redistricting effort. We're going to be very successful in it.

The governor and Democrats in this state have spearheaded the
push to redraw their maps to perhaps pick up five
congressional seats. Health officials say they've located the first travel
associated human case of New World screwworm in America. Tammy
Triheo has the details.

The case was reported in Maryland. New World screw worms
are parasitic flies that attack and eat healthy tissue from
livestock and sometimes humans. Multiple reports indicate the patient traveled
to the US from mel Salvador, where they're currently as

A groundstop is now over at Los Angeles International Airport.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, flights were grounded because of thunderstorm activity.
The FAA also ground stops at nearby Long Beach Airport

Mistaken reports of active shooters on college campuses are getting

has the details.

At the University of South Carolina. Sunday, students and staff
on its Columbia campus were ordered to shelter in place
due to reports of an active shooter that may have
just been a man with an umbrella. Campus officials later
said there was no evidence of a shooter. At Villanova.
In Pennsylvania, there have been two fake shooter reports in
just the past few days. The FBI is now joining

Google has agreed to pay thirty million dollars to settle
a class action lawsuit brought by parents and children. The
suit accused the company of collecting data from millions of
YouTube users under the age of thirteen so it could
target them with ads. Under the settlement, Google admits no wrongdoing.
The son of former UFC champion Quinton Rampage Jackson, is

accused of violently assaulting a pro wrestler in California's San
Fernando Valley. Daniel Martindale has this story.

It happened on Saturday night during an event in Sun Valley.
Rajah Jackson, also a pro MMA fighter, is accused of
attacking wrestler Siko Stu, whose real name is Stuart Smith.
Video shows Jackson throwing Smith to the match, straddling him
and punching him repeatedly in the face and side of
the head, even as he lied motionless. Jackson was then
restrained by other wrestlers. The organizers of the event say

it happened during the scripted part of the show, but
the violence went way too far. In an expost rampage,
Jackson says he does not condone his son's actions. I'm

The annual Burning Man Festival is underway in black Rock City, Nevada.
That means large crowds at Reno Tahoe International Airport. The
busiest travel days are expected to be this coming Friday,
