Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook is pushing back against
her removal by President Trump. According to an attorney for Cook,
Trump has no authority to remove Cook and the firing
lacks any factual or legal basis. Cook's removal follows a
Justice Department criminal investigation into the Board governor. President Trump

wants the death penalty for murders in Washington, d C.
While touting the National Guard intervention in DC, Trump said,
if anybody murders someone in the nation's capital, they get
capital punishment. He then called it a very strong preventative measure.
State and local leaders are telling President Trump to keep
the National Guard out of Chicago. Governor Pritzker said there

is no reason for Trump to send troops to this
city to fight crime, calling the move unconstitutional and Unamerican.

This is not about fighting crime. This is about Donald
Trump searching for any justification to deploy the military in
a blue city in a blue state to try and
intimidate his political rivals.

The governor also urged residents to protest peacefully if troops
are deployed. A New Mexico man is recovering after being
discharged from the hospital with the plague. Chris Carragio has more.

According to the New Mexico Department of Health, a forty
three year old man from Valencia County was hospitalized with
the condition, marking the state's first human case this year.
Health officials believe the patient may have been exposed while
camping in Rio Ariba County, but additional details have not
yet been provided at this time. The CDC says the
plague is treatable with commonly available antibiotics, and the chances

of a full recovery or higher if a patient seeks
medical care early.

SpaceX is celebrating a successful test flight of Starship, the
massive uncrewed rocket launched from Star based Texas this Tuesday
night and splashed down in the Indian Ocean just over
an hour later. I'm Brian Shook. A major drug ring
in Washington State with connections to Mexico, has been shut down.

Federal officials worked with local law enforcement to identify two ringleaders.
Fifteen people were indicted. Investigators seized eighty four pounds of
meth amphetamine, seventeen thousand fentanyl pills, twenty one guns, and
hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash. The investigation took

an attack at a pro wrestling event in California's San

A letter to Judge of Sydney Stein, they ask for
twelve months and one day of prison time, claiming Nadine's
entire life has been marked by men who have taken
advantage of her and that she's deeply traumatized. Meanwhile, her
husband is also pleading for the judge to go easy
on his wife, writing that his defense should not have
suggested that Nadine was money hungry and would therefore solicit

others for help. Prosecutors argued she was a partner in crime,
with her husband acting as a go between demanding and
collecting bribery payments and the form of gold bars cash.
Anna Mercedes, Bob and Nndez is currently serving an eleven
year sentence.

Kristin Marx reporting Doctors in China say they transplanted a
genetically modified pig lung into a brain dead man, where
it functioned for nine days. The man's body eventually started
to reject the lung. It's believed to be the first
pig lung transplant, and doctors hope it may one day
be an option for people who need organs. The findings
