The Conference Boards consumer Confidence index fell by more than
a point from the July reading as consumers became less
optimistic about the economy. The monthly survey noted concerns about
tariffs and higher prices including food and groceries rose again
in August. Purchasing plans for homes remained stable, while discretionary
spending for dining out, entertainment, and vacations were all down.

Indiana Republican lawmakers met with President Trump at the White
House Tuesday, as the Trump administration pushed for the state
to undertake a redistricting effort. Indiana may become the next
state to redraw its congressional maps to favor more Republicans

Bruce Willis's wife says her husband's brain is failing him.

A federal judge has dismissed a Trump administration lawsuit against
every federal judge in Maryland. The lawsuit stems from a
standing order that limits the government's ability to quickly deport immigrants.
Justice Department attorneys argued that the judge had no authority
to issue such a blanket order, but the latest ruling
determined that filing a suit against the judges was not
the correct avenue to challenge the order. The issue marks

the latest clash between the Trump administration and the judiciary.
According to the CDC, forty nine percent of US had
a lofty goal of losing twenty pounds before summer arrived.
