A federal appeals court says President Trump overstepped his presidential
powers when he issued blanket tariffs earlier this year. On Friday,
the court ruled Trump misused his authority when he used
emergency powers to issue tariffs on a number of US
trading partners. The court ruled only Congress has the authority
to issue such measures. Despite this, the tariffs will be

allowed to stay in place as the case proceeds. Trump
criticized the decision on truth Social saying, quote, a highly
partisan appeals court incorrectly said that our tariffs should be removed.
Americans are increasingly worried about children's safety at schools. A
new Gallup poll showed forty one percent of US parents
are concerned for their students' physical safety at school. The

survey was conducted before Wednesday's shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic
school that killed two students and injured nearly twenty others.
By show that school safety concerns are at their highest
level in more than two decades. There's no ruling from
a federal judge on whether federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook
can't stay on the job while her lawsuit against President

A hearing was held Friday on Cook's challenge to her firing,
which Trump said is based on allegations of mortgage fraud.
Cook's lawyers have argued Trump doesn't have the authority to
remove her. They also call the allegations a smear campaign.
The judge is asking both sides to file additional briefs

More Secret Service protection is something that presidents, vice presidents,
and other high ranking officials receive without restrictions during their
time in office, but when vice presidents leave, they usually
receive just six months of additional security. Former President Joe
Biden gave Kamala Harris extended protection of up to eighteen months.

On Nick Harper and Washington, veteran Fox News anchor John
Roberts is recovering after being diagnosed with a severe case
of malaria. Andrew Whitman reports the.

Sixty eight year old Roberts as he got the diagnosis mony,
Robert said he was shivering on air and had muscle
aggs and cramps. There are about two thousand malaria cases
in the US each year. Almost all come from overseas travel.
Others come from bites from mosquitoes that have bitten other
infected people. No word on Robert's timetable for being back
on the air or on how he contracted malaria.

Washington State has become the first to adopt restrictions on
more than two dozen chemicals used in cosmetic products that
can release formaldehyde.

Bradford reports The products can include shampoos, eyelash, blue nail polishes,
and hair treatments. There are cosmetic products on the market
that do the same thing without releasing formaldehyde. The new
restrictions take effect January first, twenty twenty seven. Retatoes have
until December thirty first, twenty twenty seven to sell their
existing stock of products that contain the chemicals.

Labor Day weekend gas prices should be the lowest since
twenty twenty. According to gas Buddy, the projected cost of
fuel will be three dollars and fifteen cents per gallon.
That's the cheapest summer for gas prices since the pandemic.
