A legal blow to the Trump administration is promising a
fight by the president. A federal appeals court says President
Trump overstepped his presidential powers when he issued an array
of tariffs earlier this year. On Friday, the court ruled
Trump misused his authority when he used emergency powers to
issue tariffs on a number of US trading partners. The

court ruled only Congress has the authority to issue such measures.
Despite this, the tariffs will be allowed to stay in
place as the case proceeds. Millions from the Southwest into
the Southeast are bracing for a rainy Labor Day weekend.
Flash flood warnings have been put in place in areas
of Louisiana and Mississippi. Parts of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas,

and Alabama also face the biggest thread of large amounts
of rainfall. Millions are under a flash flood watch in
the Arkansas Louisiana Texas region. Veteran Fox News anchor John
Roberts is recovering after being diagnosed with a severe case
of malaria. Andrew Whitman has this story.

The sixty eight year old Roberts says he got the
diagnosis Monday. Roberts said he was shivering on air and
had muscle aches and cramps. There are about two thousand
malaria cases in the US each year. Almost all come
from overseas travel. Others come from bites from mosquitoes that
have bitten other infected people. No word on Robert's timetable

And former Vice President Kamala Harris will be protected by
the California Highway Patrol after losing her Secret Service detail.
Citing law enforcement sources, The Los Angeles Times reports Harris
will get dignitary protection after President Trump provoked her Secret
Service protection. Typically, former vps get six months of Secret

Service detail after leaving office. Former President Joe Biden extended
Harris for an additional year, but the extension was revoked
by Trump. I'm Jim Forbes. Microsoft is firing two more
employees who took part in a pro Palestinian protest inside
the Redmond office of company president Brad Smith. The tech
giant fired the two workers due to what is called

quote serious violations of established company policies and code of conduct.
Microsoft has now fired a total of four people who
took part in Tuesday sit in. Thursday's terminations came a
day after the company fired two employees who were among
seven people arrested during the protest. Tuesday's protest happened after

Microsoft campus and made their way to Smith's office. When
they hung banners, sat down and chanted. There's no ruling
from a federal judge on whether Federal Reserve Governor Lisa
Cook can stay on the job while her lawsuit against
President Trump plays out in court. Brian Shook has the

A hearing was held Friday on Cook's challenge to her firing,
which Trump said is based on allegations of mortgage fraud.
Cook's lawyers have argued Trump doesn't have the authority to
remove her. They also call the allegations a smear campaign.
The judge is asking both sides to file additional briefs

The illegal bookmaker tied to Dodger superstar Shoheutane's former interpreter
as being sentenced to a year in prison Matt Boyer
pleaded guilty last August to running an illegal gambling business,
money laundering, and filing a false tax return. A federal
judge also ordered Boyer to pay one point six million
dollars in restitution and serve two years of supervised probation.
