President Trump says he is going to the Supreme Court
after a lower court ruled most of his tariffs are illegal.
Trump said, we are going to ask for an expedited
hearing with the High Court on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Without the tariffs' countries in serious, serious trouble. We've taken
in almost seventeen trillion dollars of investment is coming in.
Most of it is coming because of tariffs.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Trump blamed the recent ruling against him on, in his words,
crazy liberal judges. He again insisted the tariffs are needed
to create a level playing field with US trading partners.
The governor of Illinois says President Trump is planning to
send National Guard troops to Chicago.

We have reason to believe that the Trump administration has
already begun staging the Texas National Guard deployment in Illinois.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Democrat JB. Pritzker told reporters he also believes other federal
officers from various agencies will also soon enter the city.
Pritzker made his comments just moments after Trump said he
plans to deploy the National Guard to the Windy City.
To help fight crime. Pritzker once again says he doesn't
want troops on the streets of Chicago and takes offense

He vows to fight troop deployments in court. In a
bipartisan move, Republican Congressman Thomas Massey is filing a discharge
petition to force a vote to publicly disclose files related
to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. More from Brian Shook.

Massey introduced the bipartisan measure alongside Democratic Congressman Rocanna. If
the petition reaches two hundred eighteen signatures, it will circumvent
House GOP leadership to force action on the resolution. Speaker
Mike Johnson has dismissed Massey's efforts, tellings virtually everything Thomas
Massey says as related to this issue is meaningless.

I'm Michael Kassner. American pessimism is growing as a majority
of people believe the American dream is no longer true.
Matt Mattinson explains.

Polling from The Wall Street Journal Nork Research Center found
that when asked about the state of the economy, forty
five percent of responding said it will get worse over
the next year, while twenty nine percent said it will
stay about the same. According to the survey, sixty nine
percent of respondents are abandoning the so called American dream,
with less than a quarter of people saying they were
very confident they could buy a home if they wanted to.

Findings also showed that thirty percent of people say the
cost of living is not a problem now, but it
will become one if the prices keep going up.
