Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is your twenty four to seven use update. The
latest use this hour in just four minutes.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
President Trump hosted NATO Secretary General Mark Ruda at the
White House today, twenty four hours after he pulled the
plug on a second summit with Russia's leader. We canceled
the meeting with President Putin.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
It just it didn't feel right to me.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
It didn't feel like we were going to get to
the place we have to get, so I canceled it.
Trump continues to press Putin to end the Russia Ukraine
War and announce sanctions on Russia's two largest oil companies.

They finally got to the vote after a twenty two
hour long filibuster by Oregon Democrat Jeff Merkley. Senate Democrats

(00:41):
refused to vote for a House funding resolution unless it
extends Obamacare health insurance subsidies. North Carolina is approving a
new congressional map in an effort to get the GOP
another House seat. It's the latest round in the redistricting
battle involving several states. The GOP controls the state's legislature,
and today the House passed the measure that would probably

(01:02):
give Republicans an advantage in eleven out of fourteen House
seats from the state, up from the current ten. Congressional
Democrats are launching a website that will track when and
where federal immigration rates are happening. California Congressman Robert Garcia
says the site will not feature sensitive police detail.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Over the course of the next couple of weeks, the
Oversight Committee will be launching on their website a master
ice tracker.

ice agents at risk for doing their jobs, adding the
Justice Department has zero tolerance for violence against law enforcement
and will prosecute anyone who physically assaults an agent. Sean
Diddy Combs is reportedly lucky to be alive following an

(01:47):
incident in prison. A longtime friend of his told The
Daily Mail that an inmate armed with a shift snuck
into his cell and he woke up with a knife
to his throat. Did He's lawyer mention the incident during
the sentencing hearing, saying a guard stop to anything from
mescal comes was sentenced to fifty months in federal prison
after being convicted on two counts of violating the Man Act.
I'm Jim Roop. San Diego Congressman Mike Levin is supporting

(02:09):
an investigation into the firing of artillery on the Camp
Penalton military base near the five Freeway Saturday in southern California.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I had been assured by multiple DoD sources that the
five was not going to be shut down. This was
after I'd also been told there wouldn't be any artillery
fired over the freeway. Then late on Friday night, it
was like a one to eighty where news of the
live artillery broke and then CHP made the decision to
shut down the freeway.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
The state says a small piece of shrapnel hit a
CHP card near the freeway during the military event. The
National Guards deployed in California, but not federalized by President
Trump and not with law enforcement mission, but rather a
humanitarian mission. Governor Newsom is deploying the California National Guard
to assist food banks as the government shutdown begins to
affect those on food assistance programs. Newsom's also fast tracking

(02:59):
up to eighty million dollars to help support the state's
food assistance program called cal Fresh. The program serves about
five and a half million Californians. Netflix missed earning estimates
for the third quarter. Tami Trihio has to Tail The.

Speaker 1 (03:12):

dispute with Brazilian tax authorities. Revenue met expectations at eleven
and a half billion dollars, but earnings per share were
more than a dollar short. Coming up today, Tesla reports

more healthcare contributions, and job security.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Musicians say they've been working without a contract since late
August and they want a new deal that accurately reflects
how well the theater industry is doing in New York City.
Boys will meet with a mediator in the hopes of
coming to an agreement. I'm Jim Rup
