This is your twenty four to seven use update the
latest use this hour in just four minutes. It's day
twenty three of the US government shutdown after the Senate
failed for the twelfth time Wednesday to pass a funding bill.
Now reports say half of all US states will cut
off food assistance benefits November first because of the shutdown.

The loss is expected to affect millions. Some twenty five
states are sending out notices to people on the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP benefits that no checks will
be sent out next month, including in Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Camille Teal heads a food pantry in Sepulpa, Oklahoma, saying
the coming days could be hard.

their renewal if they currently receive food stamps, so we're
going to be watching that week very closely to see
if we have an influx and demand for new clients

investigations into gambling. Multiple reports say Phillips was charged in

different illegal gambling case. Those two among six accused of

accused of threatening to kill Democratic House Minority leader Hakim
Jeffries is scheduled to be in court today.

According to authorities, Christopher moynihan said he was going to
eliminate the New York Democrat, and officials were notified of
the threat by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. Moynihan
was previously involved in the January sixth, twenty twenty one
Capitol riot. He's leaded guilty and was ordered to spend
twenty one months in prison before being pardoned by President Trump.

Investigators in the Louverra jewel heist have found DNA traces
in a helmet and gloves, possibly marking the first big
break in the case since thieves stole the jewelry worth
about one hundred two million dollars on Sunday. The museum
reopened to the public yesterday for the first time since

A state court ruling says the university has to release
details of the proposed one point two billion dollar settlement
after losing its appeal to keep the document private. It

down many Broadway musicals has been averted. Scott Pringle has more.

The Broadway League and union representing musicians have reached a
tentative contract deal, with the two sides hammering out an
agreement with musicians threading to walk off the job. This morning.
The union president Bob Subman releasing a statement saying, in part,
this three year agreement provides meaningful wage and health benefit
increases that will preserve crucial access to healthcare. Broadway I
would have shut twenty three musicals had there been a strike.

Archaeologists in Oklahoma have uncovered dozens of new unmarked graves
at Oaklawn Cemetery and their latest search for possible victims
of the nineteen twenty one Tulsa Race massacre.

We have now documented thirty one new graves that were
not previously recorded or otherwise marked, and so this is
this is important because we didn't otherwise necessarily know that
they were there.
