Attorney General Pam Bondi says the oil tanker seized by
the US off the coast of Venezuela was used to
transport sanctioned oil to Iran. Mark Mayfield reports in.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
A post on x Bondi said the ship had been
sanctioned for years over its alleged involvement in an oil
shipping network supporting terrorist groups. The move comes as tensions
have escalated between President Trump and Venezuelan President Maduro. The
US already has a large military presence in the Caribbean
and has launched deadly strikes against suspected drug boats exiting Venezuela.

ED Chair Jerome Powell isn't tipping his hand about another
interest rate cut after Wednesday's quarter percentage point reduction. After
the cut was announced, Powell told reporters President Trump's tariffs have,
in his words, elevated inflation, but he added the inflation
rise will likely be short lived and the Central Bank
will be reevaluating its policy with regard to interest rates

and wait and see how the economy evolves. House GOP
leaders are moving forward with the healthcare package that excludes
Affordable Care Act subsidy extensions. Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters
the legislation will be comprised of GOP backed ideas that
every Republican agrees to and have already been discussed across
various House committees this year. Lawmakers are expected to vote

on the measure next week, as the GOP remains divided
on how to address the looming healthcare issue, but as
the House moves forward without a plan for the subsidies,
the Senate is set to vote on competing Republican and
Democratic plans Thursday. Neither proposal, though, is expected to pass.
Major League Baseball returns to Mexico City next season. The
league announced the Arizona Diamondbacks will take on the San

Diego Padres in the Mexico City Series. The two regular
season games will be played April twenty fifth and twenty sixth.
Major League Baseball last played regular season games in Mexico
in twenty twenty four. The Diamondbacks and Padres were set
to play in Mexico City in twenty twenty for the
league postponed the season due to the COVID nineteen pandemic.

Reports wastewater surveillance testing by the CDC indicates neurovirus is
spreading earlier and faster than usual all across the country.
Each year, there are about twenty five hundred reported outbreaks
of the virus. This year, cases have been on the rise,
especially in Louisiana, Michigan, and Indiana. Health experts have encouraged

vigilance through proper handwashing, frequently disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding direct

The Trump administration will unveil reforms for FEMA on Thursday.
Homeland Security Secretary Christino Omann Secretary of Warpeede haigs that
they're leading the effort after President Trump established a FEMA
Review Council earlier this year. The council's recommendations will be
presented at a meeting and followed by a vote on
the proposal, which is expected to be made available for
public comment. While the proposal is likely to be contentious,

it's not expected to go as far as earlier calls
to eliminate FEMA entirely. Toto and Christopher Cross are hitting
the road together for the second summer in a row.
