The 3-on-3 hosts are back just in time to celebrate the WNBA mid-season mark. Co-host Sharí Nycole kicks off the episode with an exclusive special announcement.

Our resident WNBA roving reporter, Terrika Foster-Brasby, has the crew preview WNBA All-Star Weekend, where she will be live from Phoenix, AZ. The co-hosts debate if this is Diana Taurasi's final All-Star appearance and whether retirement is imminent after this season, as well as the impact of Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark being on the same team for the first time.

Then it's time to give out some WNBA mid-season awards, with a consensus that A'ja Wilson is and will remain the real MVP. There is some discussion about who truly deserves the Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards, but Chris Williamson is sure that Dijonai Carrington deserves a few acknowledgments.

Finally, in the Jump Ball segment, all three hosts come up with their second-half hot takes you don't want to miss.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
What's up, everybody. Welcome to another episode of the three
on three podcast. I'm Chris Williamson, joined alongside by Tarika
Foster Brasby and Cheraicole, and we've essentially reached the midway
point of the w NBA season before they go into
their Olympic break. We'll recording this on July sixteenth. For

(00:30):
those of you who are interested, and Charie, there's something,
there's something revealing that you have to tell us, because yes,
really that's a fun word, but don't keep on laughing.
Share a news.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Well. I literally got an email last night about and
it was like, do you want to go to Paris
next week? I'm like, is this a joke? Is this
spamming my email? But I will be going Not too
many details I can share other than that right now,
but really excited about spending a week out there. You know,
I've never been to I've never been to Europe, I've

(01:11):
never been to Paris, I've never been anywhere over the
sea across the Atlantic before, so this is like a
very exciting time for me. So I'm just looking forward
to like soaking in all the environment and all the
fun stuff that I'll do on the ground. And just
seeing all the excitement obviously too, that's you know, brewing
because of the Olympic Game. So I can't wait to
share some stuff with you guys. It's still very surreal.
I'm literally like, is it you know something like you

(01:33):
get an opportunity or somebody reaches out to you for
an opportunity, and you don't want to get your hopes
all the way up, Like I feel like that this
industry is filled with a lot of no's and some
big yeses. So I feel like this is a big
but you know, sometimes I'm thinking about, well, I thought
this was gonna happen and it didn't. So I'm just
trying to like take that out of my mind and
be positive. But I am super duper excited and just

(01:54):
really grateful, and again I cannot wait to share with
all of you guys and with you Tarika, and it's
other cool things that I experience.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I was so excited for you.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I need you to get a picture outside of the
artist Treoph I need you to go to Sean.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Can you can you help me with my GPS? Can
you just help me with my work?

Speaker 3 (02:12):
All that?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Help you with your French girl? I got you gotcha.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Was it just like a year ago?

Speaker 4 (02:18):
I was there no member girls and I need to
go back, and I was mad I didn't get to
go to the Louis Baton store. I was like, I
want to go to the like the I want to
go to the Louis Vuitton store in France. Like it's
different and ships still is expensive, but.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
It is going to be my other question, Well, I
get it. Is there any level of a discount that
I can look forward?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
There discount? But I mean, what's a discount on the back.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I mean, even if you don't get you wait, you know, gosh,
what you got going?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
You going to All Star weekend or not?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I will be I will not be having big fun
in Paris, but I will in Phoenix.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I love them with.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
A completely full schedule, definitely holding it down at w
NBA All Star.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I'm so excited.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
This is probably my twenty sixteen, so this is almost
this is what my eighth sixteen eighteen, so this is
my eighth going on ninth.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I think All Star.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yes, duble, congratulations are in order. That's easy.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
It's my eighth. Because I missed one.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I missed the I missed one in Vegas A couple
of years ago when it was like right after the pandemic,
So I missed that.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
But with that being said, I'm very excited. Like I
know later in the show we're going to talk about
like some big hot takes, and so I have one.
I've been saying it for a long time, but I
but I think it's gonna come out either at All
Star or immediately following. So I'm a wait to tell
y'all what I think that is, but I know it's
going to be a good time.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
That is what we call AT's people. That is what
we call AT's and a cliffhanger right out the gate
area year. Yeah, this is what you do. You know
what I'm saying. But speaking of you know All Star Weekend,
of course this year the format is, you know Team
USA versus the all w NBA team, right of All Stars,

(04:16):
And they have a lot of great names on the
w NBA All Star Team, right. You know, you got
Dowanna bonn Or, you got Nika Goomak, you got Derek A. Hamby.
You know you have somebody, you got Kaitlin Clark, Angel
Reese to Leah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and there are others right.
I'm not gonna go down the full list, but for me,

(04:39):
I enjoy the competitiveness right where it's set up Team
USA versus the All Stars, because it's gonna give them
that type of competition, that type of intensity that they
need to get ready for the Paris Olympics. Right. I
don't think it would be fine if it was just
a normal way, but I do appreci she ate you know,

(05:01):
this format. I don't know how you y'all feel, but Shari,
I'll be entertained, especially this year because you know, you
got Kaitlyn and Angel on the same team, and people
seem to think they hate each other, which is the
first thing from the truth. So you can imagine that
two man game, you know, them throwing passes to each
other back and forth, and of course people are like, oh,

(05:21):
if they beat Team USA, there's gonna.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Be some conversations exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
So the storylines are out there. You got Dewanna Bonner
going up against you know, listen, Thomas their you know fiance.
What do you think about the format?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I think it's cool. I mean I like to take
and obviously Team USA gets a good run in. I
think it's going to be competitive. You know this isn't
gonna look like no shade the NBA All Star Games,
which is exciting for me. I like to see All
Star Games when people actually play hard and compete, So
I think it's gonna be good. To your other point, Chris,
there's some points that need to be proven, and I
think people coming in with a little chip on their

(05:55):
shoulder in a competitive way. So being able to see
Kaitlyn and Angel play together, and you know, being able
to say, see Kaitlyn play against the Team USA, it's
big too. That's been a big storyline. Kaitlyn didn't make
the team and all this stuff, so we'll kind of
see what she's made of. But it's also away for
us to see just Team USA. You know, how they're
going to potentially geil in the Olympic Games, which I
think is really important for us to see early. We're

(06:15):
looking at the men's side and it's like, a yea,
I don't need to keep practicing. So I'm excited just
to see what the chemistry looks like all around for
Team USA. But I mean it's cool. I would actually
like to see the NBA adopt this strategy if possible.
I know it's harder because of the time of year,
but maybe play around with the team that's here now,
say Lebron Hugh's playing whatever, and then have the other

(06:36):
All Stars. But you know, I'm cool. There's some snubs
on that on the w NBA side outside of Team USA.
We could talk about that later, but I'm not I'm
not mad at it. Differentiate yourselves. W n B A
do what you need to do. You know, from a
marketing standpoint, I think it's genius and again it creates
that excitement as we move into Paris, So I don't
have any problem with it at all.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, I agree, Like I love the format.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
I actually was talking to Stephanie White a couple of
weeks and I asked her about the format and she
also said, hey, this is a great challenge for Team USA, Like,
we believe that we have the best league in the world,
and if that's the case, then who better to prepare
you for the challengers of the world than the people
who you're going to be playing against right here. So
it's an opportunity for them to feel like they have

(07:20):
a part in the Olympic process by being able to
really test and challenge And we've seen this before, right,
we saw this format in twenty twenty one. I'm a
Team WNA one Irican walked away like they come in
to play with you, like they really bringing that fire,
They're really going to bring that heat. And so I actually,

(07:41):
you know, love this format. I do think that there
were some people snubbed. I'm not exactly sure that I
would say that there were some people snub from Team USA,
but I do love the fact that we're going to
get to see the Erica handby and like.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
It's so different for me looking at her this year.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Like always been a leader, She's always been a phenomenal player,
but just seeing her in the position that she's in
now where she is quite literally the number one option
on the team.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
She's playing at an MVP type level.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
She's really put that Sparks team on her back and
helping to really bring along Kiah Jackson. So I love
that this is an opportunity for her to shine. We
don't know who the starters are yet for Team w NBA,
which is interesting. But with all of that being said,
I am excited for her. I love again the Angel
and Caitlyn dynamic. I think that's gonna be a lot

(08:34):
of fun. I'm looking forward to also saying how like
the fans are going to be different this year, Like
the fans have just been different all the way around
this year as it relates to attending games and things
of that nature. And the WNBA has done a better
job of trying to offer experiences for the fan base
as it relates to you know, WNBA Live and different

(08:57):
activations and things like that around the All Star Game.
So I'm curious to see how the fans turn out
will be different. Like I just can't I can't help
but think if y'all are selling out back to back,
back to back arenas, then Phoenix is probably gonna be overrun.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
With w NBA fans. And like, I'm excited to see that.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
It is going to be very special. And of course
it's capped off with you know, Diana Tarossi probably playing
in her last ever All Star game. Who knows, right why?
You you know what.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I don't think this is her last one because I
feel like Diana will be like, yo, I need my
farewell tour, so I'll tell you all so I get
all the attention and all my flowers and all my
farewells before I check up out of here. I really don't.
I really think she's gonna come back. I don't see
her leaving without that. She just doesn't give me that
type of a tease. I feel like she wants the attention,
and I'm not mad at it. She's earned it. But

(09:54):
her leaving in us being like, well, we don't know
if she's gonna come back. She's gonna be back next year.
She's gonna announce. It's gonna be a whole thing. It's
gonna be a mark strategy around it. You're gonna get
all her flowers. It's gonna be lit just my thing,
gir are you late? The marketing strategy is already in operation,
already happening, it's already going down.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Oh, this is her last Olympics, this is her let
why in Phoenix. I don't care what nobody tells me.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
To explicit they say this, she need to say, Well,
I'm gonna come up with her new addition. Listen, is
this the end? Answer the question right now so that
we can move forward, because I don't want it to
be any type of speculation. If this is your last season,
you should say it so we can all do what
we gotta do and be really exciting all this, but
we don't know, we don't know. You know, players have

(10:40):
done that for years. Then they come back the next
year and then they say, Okay, this is man. I
am convinced. I am one hundred percent convinced.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
The reason that All Star is in Phoenix is because
Diana Tarazzi is going to announce at All Star.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Game this is it. I'm done.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I'm a f G T.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
And when I asked that I'm gonna talk to d
on Thursday, I'm gonna talk to dtil Thursday. We got
a one on one interview on the upcoming and I'm
gonna ask her straight up, are you done?

Speaker 2 (11:10):
I love it? Okay, just let us exclusive. I'm here for.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
She to know, is this woman?

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Are we here for you? Are we here celebrate you?
Are you done?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
I'm spoken to Diana before she knows my name, y'all,
So that's not gonna come across no type of way.
She's gonna look at me and laugh, and she's probably
gonna give me a PC answer, and then when I
cut the camera off, she might give me. Then I'm
gonna not be able to say nothing, because that's that ethics.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Off the record, I'm out, But y'all, like, why do
you think, why do you think if that's the case
though both of you, that she would wait midway through
the season, like we're watching players do farewell to us.
Kobe had an incredible farewell to her, that was just amazing.
Why wait, like, why not say the time of the y'all.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I'm gonna tell you in my it's because as much
as we love and respect Diana, the media has played
a part in helping people to hate Diana because for
the longest of times, nobody talked about nobody else but
Diana Tarassei the White Man. But DT, she's great, she said,
she's that. Reporters at some point even got lazy where

(12:20):
they didn't really care about really understanding and knowing the WNBA.
If you could run off two minutes about Diana Taraszie
or super Bird, you were good.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
And along the lines, other.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
People started to be like, Damn, I'm tired of hearing
about Diana Tarrassei.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Damn, I'm tired of talking about her. There are other
players here. This is not that.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
This is why I say the shit that we're going
through right now with Caitlyn and Angel. It's not the
first time we've done this, not the first time, maybe
to this level, in this magnitude, absolutely, but it's not
the first time that we've seen this is not the
first time that we've done this.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Right, Like last year, this woman became the number one
score in w NBA history by a mile, And yes,
there were people who celebrated her.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
But do you know the type of reception Lebron got
from breaking a record like that?

Speaker 2 (13:05):
They stopped the game in the middle of.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Everything in the morning.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Diana won't getting that. Diana didn't get that, you know
what I'm saying. So in my mind, I don't think
Diana is ignorant to this, But I'm also saying I
think it would also be so her so attention grabbing
of her to just.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Be like, oh, yeah, by the way, y'all, I'm about
to be out.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Do you know everything that everyone planned and thought for
the remainder of this w n A season would go
out the window because it would be all about leaving
the game. The Olympics would be all about DT's last Olympic.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
All about her. And again, with the All Star.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Game being in Phoenix, it is the prime place they
got a new first time first time that they named it.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Y'all, when you're white, they argue with you when you're
right sis for you. I feel like this is this
is strategic. Yeah, I'm kind of I'm kind of mess
with it.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
It's strategic.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Yeah, I went I went to Rika on that. Like,
I think it makes for a more dramatic showing. It
forces people to switch all of their scripts, their rundowns,
their storylines and narratives in the heart, like in the
middle of the season. So it would be a perfect
way and yeah, be scripted.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Y'all, Like check this out. Maybe what if it's not resentment?
What if it's DT being intentional about passing the baton
so allowing the attention on the Caitlyn Clark say, Angelice,
is this really new rookie, this really amazing rookie class
to then allow them to be the ones to get
the attention so that she can move they can move
into this next phase and take the league where she

(14:54):
wants it to go. And then to your point to
Rica coming on the back end and the halfway points
s all right, this is it because imagine if she
would have made an announcement that I'm really thinking nobody
got my wheels turning. Imagine if she would have made
announcement at the beginning of the year, that attention would
have been split between her, the Caitlyn Clark craze, all
these different things that are going on, and the fanfare
may have looked different. And she's watching and seeing all
this excitement, She's like, yo, I care about the league too,

(15:15):
Like I care about myself my team, but I care
about where this league is going to be when I
leave here. So maybe she did it for that reason
as well.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
And we are I would say that we are finally
getting to a point where we're talking about the basketball.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yes, it took us three months, but.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Like, we're finally to a point where we're talking more
about the basketball. So this is also a great opportunity
for her to be like, you know what, now that
the dust has settled, in so many words, what better
way to go out than like now, when women's basketball
is at a great place.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
I could be one hundred percent wrong, y'all, and.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I probably write I think you might be right.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
It might be it just feels like this is that
it just feels right.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
It just feels right, Yeah, And it feels like, you know,
we need to head the commercial break because from mid
season awards to hand out as we are basically at
the halfway point of the WNBA season, y'all. It is
the halfway point of the WNBA season, and that means

(16:20):
we have to give out the names for who we
thought or who we think will win these awards like
six Player of the Year, most Valuable Player, Coach of
the Year, most Improved defensive Player of the Year, and
for me, there are so many tight races, but one
that is not even remotely close right now is for

(16:41):
most valuable Player because Asia Wilson is playing at an
elite level that I don't think we've ever seen before
in the WNBA's history. Right the woman is averaging Get this, guys,
the woman is averaging twenty seven points per game, eleven
point nine rebounds, almost two steals, almost three blocks, on

(17:05):
fifty two percent shooting from the field, thirty eight percent
shooting from the three point line remember this is a
big yeah, okay, and eighty seven percent from the free
throw line. She is all world clearly heading shoulders above
everybody else and the rest they're just fighting for second place.
Like you know, Alyssa Thomas. We can talk about Sabrina Younescu.

(17:27):
You can given throw John Coe Jones in there. In
the feast of Collier as well. We've seen how Links
have kind of struggled a little bit without her with
that planter fashion itis. That's who I got for MVP,
and I don't think y'all have any arguments for anybody
else unless you just really love another player.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
To read it, I wasn't the one who gave her
the fourth place vote. It wasn't me.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Is not blaspheming on this show.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
She is not going, uh it's alive. No, ma'am. I can't, No, ma'am.
Asia ain't gonna come from my nest. No, ma'am, it
was not me.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
But yeah, no, this is Asia Wilson's award to lose
at this point. I mean, it won't be an empty ballot.
So sure you known Fisa, she's playing at a high level.
I mean, I just said de Orka Hanby is playing
at an MVP type level for most of the season.
Joquo Jones has played at an MVP type level. So

(18:30):
I mean there are absolutely other players that are playing
at a high clip at Kalia Copper you could throw
her into like definitely players that are thrown at a
high clip. However, right now for me, it's Asia Wilson,
and then there's the other group of phenomenal players that
are really doing well. But I just can't like right now,
like Asia Wilson would have to God forbid, I don't

(18:53):
even want to say it, but something would have to
happen for me to at this point be like it's
somebody else other than her.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Yeah, I would agree with you, Turika. And the interesting
thing about this MVP conversation with Asia specifically is sometimes,
you know, we'll see somebody getting MVP that's really a
prolific score. You know, they may get five or six
rebounds a game. You know, on the defensive end, they
might not have as much of an impact, but somewhat
of an impact. But when you think about her versatility,
when you think about the fact that she is essentially

(19:21):
a double double, like a double double a Knight, just
the level of value she brings her versatility, I think
is so worth excuse me talking about and mentioning the
way that she's able to score even she can kill
you from any at any point, anytime, from anywhere. And
so when we think about that couple, what she just
means to this team from a morale standpoint, all of
these things matter, her impact beyond just the basketball court

(19:44):
and what she's even done to grow the game of basketball,
especially the league this year in particular. That's why I
just love her so much for the MVP, you know,
I just I'm so impressed with the full package that
she brings on both sides of the ball, on and
off the basketball court. I don't think anyone comes close
to that when we think about the comprehensive approach to
how she impacts or excuse me, her level of impact,

(20:05):
nobody's touching her. Into Tarika's point, I mean, she had
have to say, oh I retire, I don't want to
play anymore. I mean, that's how far ahead she is.
And just shout out to her. I mean, she had
to deal with a lot of talk and crazy stuff
and social media criticisms, being the underdog for no reason
being like not having the visibility she deserved, not having

(20:26):
the opportunities she deserved, and then you know them, dealing
with some some like a losing streak, all these different things,
but she's remained steady. So shout out to Asia. I'm
so excited for everything that she's been doing and how
she's growing this game and also showing these post players like, yo,
this is what this is what this game's gonna look like. Now,
Like we're getting off the block, So shout out to.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Her getting off the block. She's coming off screens. Yeah, right,
shooting threes. There was one game or yeah, I think
it was one game where she was like three for four. Yeah,
this stroke looks phenomenal. And what's really impressive about her
run so far on the WNBA is how she's kind
of followed the path of a lot of greats where

(21:05):
you know, she didn't make the playoffs. First year, she struggled,
the team didn't have success. They made it to the
championship right against Seattle Storm Brandon Stewart. They lost. She
had some more failures, right if you want to call
them failures, the Mercury series a couple of years ago,
and then they finally reached the mountaintop. They go back
to back and she's playing at an all time level. Again.

(21:29):
You talk about it s her versatility, and to that point,
it's not just her versatility with her face up game
or ability to back down post players. It's also on
the defensive end.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
It's because it's one thing to get all these blocks
right and steals and how you disrupt the flow of
different offenses. But for me, it's how she affects shots
even if she's not getting a hand on it right.
It can be yo, Julie van Loue or click, I'm
not taking the ball to the rat because I don't
want to get my ship blocked right. That is, you know,

(22:04):
That's how I evaluate defensive Player of the Year in
some respects. You have to take that in consideration because
it's not just about steals and blocks. It's are you
affecting the other teams, primary players and respective scores in
a way that they change their system, they change their

(22:24):
direction on their path or whatever for a basket because
of your imposing presence. And I know so for me,
Asia Wilson is the defensive Player of the Year as
well right now as he magmcgore is certainly up there.
She's been playing at an All star level. She was
snub for sure. As much as I love Leah Boston,

(22:47):
she did not start off the way she last year.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Is if you want to preach, we don't let you
have it. Get up, walk up to that pool. Pit
right now.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
I'm walking I'm walking up and I'm lad. Y'all know
that Asie magmcgore has been a top two defender in
the league this year from start to finish. She's been
very consistent and she's added to her game as a
short roller ability to get into the paint. So she's
up there. But for me, it's Asia Wilson right now
as defensive Player of the Year again. But I take

(23:17):
it that, Tariki, you do not agree with me.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Not this faces since you put it in the atmosphere,
I do not. It has absolutely nothing to do with
everything that you just said as it relates to Asia Wilson,
because all of those things are true. But I would
also say that this player, to me, has shown from

(23:45):
day one this year that it doesn't matter who you
put in front of her, She's locking you down. She
has put on masterclass after masterclass, and if I didn't
already think she should have been Player of a Year,
this woman just got up on Britney Grinder like Brittany Ain't.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Seven talking about Dja Carrien.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yes ma'am, Yes ma'am, yes ma'am.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
So one thing that coach Stephanie White always talks about
is understanding opportunity versus.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Talent, Right, And so this year djn A.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Carrington got the opportunity to be a starter, not saying
that the talent had not always been there. She was
second and voting last year for six women of a.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Year like she clearly has had a had the talent,
she wouldn't have been in this league for four years. Right.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
She's also had the pleasure and benefit of playing in
a Connecticut team that has a lot of veterans, that
has a strong work ethic. They're a defensive minded team.
So that was something already preached. But she already came
into this league defensive minded because that was the kind
of team that Baylor had when she was there.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Right, Move that on to playing behind.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Alissa Thomas, who's going to make sure that you get
every single thing to every single play, every single time
you're on the court. Move that over to Dewana Bonner,
who also is a defensive player and was when she
was in Phoenix. Right, let's move that over to Brionna Jones,
who they don't even double BG.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
They let Brie just get it on her own. Man
up one to one. Right, you bring all of this
around you, and when.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
You talk to Djna, she's like, I know that I'm
going to be tasked with guarding the best player or
the best shooter on every single night, and she takes
that shit personally. And I have seen Djona take the
defense to a brand new level. She is shut down
almost every single person that have been put in front

(25:42):
of her. I cannot say that this woman don't deserve
Defensive Player of the Year at this moment, because to me,
she does. I agree though, as he would definitely be
my number two. Asia would be number three after that
for me.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
But right now I'm going with Nay.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I'm aligned with you, Tarka and also Chris with your statements.
I had djn A as well. And for me, you know,
being a defensive stopper was like my main job when
I played in college. And I understand the attitude and
the intention that goes along with you coming into a
game knowing you're gonna guard the best player on the
other team every night. And I think it was the
other night when they played they showed to Tarika's point

(26:24):
all the players that Djona locked up over the course
of the season and what their field goal percentage was
and it was like they couldn't knew and couldn't do anything.
And so, you know, she was even asked about, you know,
during I think it was after the third quarter, she
was asked specifically about our defense, and she said, you know,
it's an attitude. It's like you got to come in,

(26:45):
it's a it's a level of focus that you have
to come in with. And so I feel like DJNA
is putting us all in a position as fans to
really take more excitement into the defensive end of the basketball.
You know, we can get wrapped up and whos shooting
all the threes and who's turning and facing and how
many points somebody is getting, even tell how many rebounds
someone's getting. But to watch her, it's almost like the

(27:06):
impact that Gary Payton had in the NBA, when you know,
during his glove days, it was a big deal. People
were waiting for him to take the ball from somebody.
I feel like DJJ Carrington brings the same energy into
the WNBA and watching her on the defensive end but
also getting so much better on than the offensive end
as well, I'm torn because I know you can't really
technically give somebody to awards but I love her as

(27:27):
defensive player of the Year as well as most as
well as most improved. I'm looking at her stat line
you can definitely give and I'm watching look and this
is the thing. I'm looking at that, and I'm also
looking at what that has meant for the Connecticut Sun
and how well they're still doing. So we all know
it's not what happened earlier on the season is not
a fluke. They are still right there, and so I'm
just really impressed with what her level of effort has

(27:49):
meant for the team as a whole. And I just
she's one of my favorites, absolute favorite, and a whole
snub when we talk about the I'm sorry, y'all All
Star Game snub, I really wanted to see her there
in some capacity, But shout out, shout out to her.
Keep it up, Sis, and hopefully these young people, especially
young girls watching that want to play this game watch

(28:11):
her and understand the importance of what playing defense in
that way can mean for your career. So shut out
to her.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Yeah, I'm with you there, And also I want you
to know that he don'ta asked her pregame a couple
of weeks by a week ago, what do you feel
about being snubbed from the All Star game? INSI said,
I don't play this game to be an All Star. I
played the win championships.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Talk about it, talk about it.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Bring that working in right there, that's a whole.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Said, Oh, well, there you go.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
That's why you.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Deserve Joe Allstar. Non sense. I voted for you to
make the team.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
But at the end of the day, I can't be
mad at that mentality, like that's why you are how
you are. Absolutely you keeping you know, as Asia says,
keeping the main thing, the main thing, right, you focused
on the main thing, and Connecticut definitely need to be there.
But you know, Chris, I agree with you. She's also
my pick for most improved for most of the Blue

(29:05):
player to share for everything that she said, just she's
ever seen averaging a career best in points. You know,
she's again her defense is elite. She just she has
the opportunity now to be a starter, and she's taken
advantage of every opportunity that she's given at this position.
And so you can definitely give a player to awards.

(29:26):
Asia has definitely won MVP and Defensive Player.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Because she deserves it.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
So I don't even really have much to add. She's
most improved.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
To me, I'm I'm with you. You could argue, maybe
you know Kennedy Carter, but some may argue this more
about opportunity because we've seen her ball out, you know,
a rookie year with Atlanta, she was averaging seventeen points.
Right now, I think she's hovering on like fifteen points.
But dj and A, yeah, dj and A is my
candidate for most Improved Player of the Year, and she

(29:58):
has a very strong argument for a defensive Player of
the Year. And I don't think guards get enough credit.
It's not just in the WNBA, but also in the NBA.
It'll get enough credit for their perimeter defense because you
don't see it show up in the box score. Again,
you have to watch these games to look at how
people are affecting the outcome, and if it doesn't show

(30:21):
up in the boxer, it doesn't mean they haven't had
a great defensive night. You look at it. What did
that player do when Djna was all up in their grill?
Oh she shot twenty percent, Oh she shot thirty percent.
Five turnovers like come on, Like the other day, Khalia
Copper had seventeen points on forty seven percent of shooting right.
I don't believe Djena was gardener her the entire time.

(30:43):
But Kali also had seven turnovers in that game like that,
that's very high, very high, you know what I'm saying
and speaking and speaking of turnovers, Kaitlin Clark set the
record for most way what you're talking about, will you
know it's true?

Speaker 2 (31:02):
But the transition is low key, petty, and I'm sorry
I had to laugh. And all of you who hate
me because you think I hate Gaityln Clark, you can
hate me for laughing. It was genius what you just did,
but I had to laugh because it's funny and it's
very petty. And the fact that you just moved through
like you didn't really say anything that was petty. I
commend you, Chris. You are a special because it.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Was incredibly petty free s Clark.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Bye, bro, we're talking about superlatives.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
You took your ass the Kaitlyn Clark having turnover history.
She made turnover history.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
History. That's the fact. You get to smoke for this.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
I know.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
I'll stand.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
You can stand on this week with the Kaitlyn Clark. Hey,
y'all get it.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
On business me, we ain't gonna be the ones to.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Because I laughed and.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I didn't even say nothing. I'm gonna get smoking some ear.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Caught in the fire, the right, That's what That's what
it comes down to. But I was getting to, yes,
it was a transition because she does lead the league
in turnovers, and that is something that she needs to
bring down. However, she also leads the league and assists
per game, yes, right in the setting records in terms

(32:38):
of her playmaking. But y'all wanted to cut that off
because y'all petty Okay, I was saying, you know, speaking
of turnover, but she's also the amazing facilitator, right and
we're talking about Rookie of the Year, and I think
what she's done, she's been much more effective in terms
of her ability to drive inside the paint and not

(33:00):
be so shy, you know, to get her shot. Of course,
there are things that she still needs to work on,
but her playmaking is some of the best that we're
seeing in the league. And when it comes to the race,
it's clearly her in Angel Reese and right now, I
don't think anybody's made that much of a significant difference

(33:21):
where you can say, oh, yeah, Kaitlyn Clark is by
far the rookie of the year, or Angel Reese is
by far the rookie of the year. And if we're
really being honest, Rakeia Jackson probably could have been up
for that conversation if Kurt Miller had decided to use
her in a more effective way. But that's a conversation
for another day, because we've seen Rakiya ball out when

(33:41):
she has the motion right when she's getting the opportunities.
If I had to pick right now, well, actually I'm
gonna do this, who do y'all have as a rookie
of the year right now?

Speaker 2 (33:50):
She read, well, well, well, bring on the Kaitlyn Clark. Kate.
I have to agree with you, Chris. It's been really
impressive to see Caitlyn as a facilitator. I've mentioned this
on this show before. I think that is essentially her
best attribute and I love to see her lean into that.
I also just think that, you know, Leah Boston playing
better has been a huge, huge reason why Caitlyn's had

(34:13):
the success she's had. Kelsey Mitchell stepping up, she is
the most talented guard they have and if you really
think about what I'm saying, and you know the game
of basketball, you'll understand what I mean when I say that.
It doesn't take anything away from Caitlyn, But I think
Caitlyn's opportunities to affect change really come from her passing
and facilitating and then players like Aleah and Kelsey stepping up.
So shout out to them as a team for just

(34:34):
kind of the I can see the corner they've turned.
It's actually have been nice to see their growth, So
shout out to them. But Angel Rees right now is
my Rookie of the year. What she's been able to
do in terms of pushing out that many double doubles
consecutively is it was unheard of until she did it,
So I have to acknowledge that that level of history
that she's made. I think that unfortunately, all the turnovers

(34:57):
that Caitlyn has incurred over the course of this season,
it hurts her. Sin's a turnover ratio. That's just the
reality of it. So it's almost like you can't every
time you pass the ball, you pretty much cancel it
out because you turn the ball over, you gave it away.
But you know, it's been nice to see Caitlyn improve.
I think Angel's improved as well. And if Angel really
continues with any level of confidence as it relates to
her turning and facing, we're gonna have a problem and

(35:20):
we're gonna see more Asia Wilson, like you know, offensive
takes that from Angel that I think that she's capable of.
I just think she has to continue to work on
that and her confidence is gonna grow. But I would
have to give it to Angel right now simply because
what's the historic run with those double doubles. You cannot
deny that. You cannot deny the impact. Obviously, the Indiana

(35:40):
Fever have edged out the Chicago Sky so far when
we talk about the standings this season, which also, you know,
we can take note of. But I think the guy,
you know, they just got to get a couple of
little things, tighten some screws here and there, and they
could be right there. So I think it may come
down to, honestly, who fares better at the end of
the season, if the Fever are a better team, you know,

(36:00):
in the standings in the sky. It may come down
to that, because Caitlyn certainly make an impact, but I
gotta gotta give it to Angel. Her level of consistency.
I think it's just it's worth noting and I just
that's me. Now. It's not by much, but I do
have Angel ahead of Kaitlyn right now. I also have

(36:21):
an Angel.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Very very very slightly ahead of Caitlyn, and that has
foot flopped.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Like at one point this season, I had Caitlyn as
the rookie year and then Angel became. So I have
like this has been that type of a race to me,
So Kaitlyn Clark haters.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Let it go like I'm not.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
I had like there was a point where I was like, Wow,
Caitlyn is about to run away with this thing. And
then Angel went on this double double streak, And I
think what it boils down to me is I think
about this.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Indiana ended last season with thirteen wins.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
They already have eleven, and I think the expectation was
just simply bringing someone like a Kitlin Clark will help
to elevate them. So there was already an expectation for
them to be a postseason playoff team this season because
they were literally a piece.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Away and there's no doubt that Caitlyn is a piece.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
When I think about Chicago, however, they had eighteen wins
last season they were in eighth place. They have half
of that right now with nine and they're already in
eighth place. Right This is a team that lost their
head coach. This is a team that lost primarily all
of their starters. This is a team who lost their
best player in Collia Kopper this offseason. This is a
team with a brand new head coach in Teresa Weatherspoon.

(37:39):
They also lost one of the best sinners in Elizabeth
Williams midway through this season, and they have still managed
to be at this moment a playoff team. Why because
of Angel Rees and because of Kennedy Carter. So to me,
that says a lot. You came into this league literally

(37:59):
on a team that had no expectations, and y'all were
just really just looking to stay afloat. But you have
brought the energy, the presence, the consistency, the rebounding ability,
the relationship with a coach. You've been able to affect
the game in so many different ways that this team
literally has the confidence in the thinking and the notion

(38:21):
that they can be a playoff team, that they can win.
This is not just staying a flow. This is not
just simply getting by. This is not just you know,
we're a new team and real rebuilding. You are a
new team and you are rebuilding, but at the end
of the day, you know you're making history. You have
two hundred and seventy six rebounds, most by any WNBA
player through their first twenty three games. You are still,

(38:44):
to me someone and Caitlyn Clark is also making history.
So definitely not saying that that that isn't the thing,
but I just think what you're asked to do versus
what Caitlyn has been asked to do in the expectation
to me is different.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
Yes, And I think Katelyn and is doing exactly what
we expected of her. Angel to me is not, You're
doing far more.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Than what people expected you to be able to do,
and that to me right now is the difference that
can change when we come.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Back from this All Star break.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Ain't no telling what level these two ladies will be
playing on and it could instantly change.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
Like it is just that close of a race to me.
But right now, by a here I have, Angel.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
I love the points that you made very well explained
and I would have to agree with you both. Yeah, Angel,
by a nose right now because of the impact that
she's had and the expectations nobody, you're lying if you
expected her to have this output so early in her

(39:51):
WNBA career, I will stand on it ten toes down.
I was not expecting her to have such an amazing season.
I thought she was going to be, you know, a
sided player. But she's exceeded my expectations and then some.
And you cannot measure heart, you can actually put you know,
you can't teach being a dog, you know what I'm saying,
like you you can't teach that. But the other thing

(40:14):
that is interesting with Kaitlin Clark specifically is people seem
to be very intentional about bringing up this whole Team
USA conversation.

Speaker 4 (40:30):
Oh wait, before you go, before you get there, Chris,
I just want to throw out really quick that I
do have Kennedy Carter for my sixth player of the year,
and that will change if she ends up starting more games,
but as of right now, she hasn't.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
So I do have Kennedy Carter as my sixth player
of the year right now.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
And my coach of the year. I have Neo Ivy.
I'm Neo Ivy, Joe, my Lord Noel Quinn right now?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Okay, all right, that's it. I like, I like, I'm
going to say Kennedy starting more so it will see
how that pans out. But she would be an easy,
easy one. You could you know, you could go Charlle
Reeve for Coach the Year as well. Maybe you throw in,
you know, Sophie Cunningham. I know her numbers have dipped
since last year, but why you wait? Why are you looking?

(41:23):
I would like, hey, sometimes the other person, the other
person I was gonna mention was Timmy fat Binley. Right.
If she hasn't if she didn't stay injured, I think
she would have been a great candidate, and maybe she
still can get that. But what she did for the
fever early on for the injury was really really key
in helping Caitlin adjust to the w n B A
and give her a nice roller. But yeah, we gotta

(41:45):
go to break, and then after the break we're talking
about more Team USA.

Speaker 4 (41:53):
So we are incredibly excited that our girls, Sharia is
going to be in Paris right after the All Star weekend.
That's gonna be a lot of fun to see Sharien
in Paris. She's gonna get a first hand look, most
likely of what Team USA is looking like and I
think everybody's excited about Team.

Speaker 3 (42:09):
USA, right.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
But one thing I know is that the head coach
of Team USA, Show Reeves, really knows how to compartmentalize, right.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
She likes to very much stay focused on what she's
doing in that moment.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
So when she is coaching the Minnesota Linked and in
the press conferences you are asking her questions about Team USA,
she ain't always the most friendly as it relates to
wanting to answer those questions.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
She's not in that moment or in that headspace. So imagine.

Speaker 4 (42:38):
The response that she gave to a colleague, Myron Metcalf
who works at ESPN, when he asked her after a
loss by the way to the Indiana Fever.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
I think it was before.

Speaker 3 (42:50):
I thought it was after.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
It was before, yeh, before.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
I thought it was after, But before, Okay, got it.
So before before the game when he gets ready to
as she again prepping, getting ready to prepare to pare,
prepare to play the Indiana Fever, he asked her about
Kaitlin Clark, They.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Asked her about Team USA, and yeah, charl wasn't really here,
We'm really here for the questions. Cheryl basically was like listen.
I'm dressed in links.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
I'm here for the links, like I am, I'm not
really here to answer questions about you know, I'm not
really here to answer questions about Team USA. You know,
I'm not really here to answer questions about you know.
I'm not part of the committee. I'm not part of
the people that select who makes the team and who
does not. So I'm not really here and very dismissive

(43:50):
of the question. So, of course, you know, the brigade
of those who feel that someone should have been on
the Olympic team kind of took this as a sign
of disrespect that she did not want to answer the
question about Kaitlyn Clark being on the team. So, Chris,
very quickly, what are your overall thoughts of Cheryl Reeve's
dismissing of the question about Kaitlyn Clark and Team USA.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
I love that shit. Don't give a fuck. Like you
said about how do you feel about, you know, the
crowd potentially being more pro fever than pro links in
your own buildings, You're like, I don't give a shit,
I don't give two shits. Right, And for that question
to be asked during a game, a w NBA game,

(44:36):
I get why she responded the way she did. Myron
has every right to ask whatever question he wants. But
if you know Cheryl, you know that she not gonna
give you the politically correct answers. She gonna give you
the MANswers that are very direct and blunt. I'm getting
ready for a game against Indiana. We're trying to stay

(44:58):
afloat without one of our one of the MVP Cannids
right Defeasa Collia. I'm not thinking about the Olympic team
in Kaitlyn Clark. I'm thinking about shutting her down and
the rest of the team. And again, I love that
she brought up I'm not part of the committee. I
don't have to deal. I'm not dealing or I'm not
the ones who are selecting the players. You can ask

(45:21):
the committee that and you, you know, find your way
to do that when you have the time. But I'm
the coach and I'm wearing a Links I'm wearing Links apparel.
When I get to the Olympics, sure go ahead, But
right now I'm focused on my team. So I have
no issue with shele Reeve responding the way that she did,
and people say, oh, you know, she's being so resentful

(45:44):
and jealous. No, it's because she She's exactly what the
fuck is going on that everybody else did. Remember when
they were just promoting Kaitlyn for these preseason games they
didn't have the links Sky game and she was like, yeah,
they only care about one person. That wasn't director to Caitlin.
It was directed at how people the powers that be
market Kaitlin and not others. Because there's nothing wrong with

(46:08):
marketing Kaitlin and putting it out there. The problem is
with not promoting the other deserving teams and players. So
I understand why she fed up. Suri. You you probably
understand right too.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Myron, Myron, Myron read the room. That's like journalism one
on one, and this is the problem. We're in a
very cloud chasing type of environment which is bled into
the world of journalism. Okay, so I'm gonna be straight
journalists with you because I am a journalist. You can

(46:42):
look it up. It's in the records, so I can
say these concepts. Number one, to Chris's point, you know
who you're talking to. If you understand the temperature or
the and or the temperament of the person you're interviewing,
that will help you to craft appropriate questions at the
appropriate times. Why would you ask that question prior to

(47:04):
the game? That's number one? Number two? When was the
decision made that Caitlyn wouldn't be on the team at
least three weeks ago? Correct? Yeah, So why are we
still talking about this? That's so to me, that says
you're searching for a sound bite. I don't like thirsty

(47:26):
journalists and it's not personal to him. I'm seeing it
happen across the board. I'm watching journalists get so go
down this same rabbit hole that the media is helping
to push them into, instead of resisting that and saying, hey,
what is most important right now? What are some pertinent
questions I can ask of this coach that actually helped
advance not only the audience's experience of this game, but

(47:49):
also of this team getting to know this coach, getting
to know this team. What are the x's and o's.
And the x's and o's at the time have nothing
to do with Caitlyn Clark not being on Team USA.
That has already been addressed, That has already been dealt with.
Move on, You got to learn how to move on
in this world of journalism. So the cloud chasing. I
don't like it, and actually I'm okay with Coach Read's
response as well, because somebody has to shut it down

(48:12):
because you all don't know how to shut it down,
because you're not disciplined enough to shut it down. I'll
shut it down for you. I bet you're not going
to ask for that again. And it's unfortunate that sometimes
the press puts these coaches and players in positions that
have to shut it down because they won't. But in
this instance, the question was inappropriate, the timing was inappropriate,

(48:33):
and it was totally unnecessary. We've already talked about this.
Stop trying to judge, drudge up controversy. It's not there.
Stop trying to make something be that it's not. And
as a journalist you have to know that. And mind
you even asking her the question at that time, you're
not moving an objectivity. You're clearly leaning in a certain direction,
whether it's your direction or the direction somebody else told

(48:55):
you to lean into. But that's not objectivity. We've dealt
with it already. Move on, so good. You leave her alone.
Now you want to ask her that, no more, and
nobody else asks her that. It's totally besides the point,
she's not on the team. We've known for almost a month.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Get over it, move on.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
If anything, ask her about, Hey, how are you as
a coach the dualities of you know, you're still in season,
but how are you coaching with this team now? The
links and all that you're working on? How are you
going to take some of these things and these concepts
and these strategies and push them into Team USA? Ask
her something like that that makes sense. What's applicable that
you're using right now with the links that you think
will be applicable in Paris? But don't ask her about

(49:34):
Kaitlin Clark might being on the team. That's dumb. Sorry,
I got to go. I can't I can't do it.
I can't do it. I'm on my soapbox. I'm sorry, guys.
I don't like dumb. I don't like dump questions. I
don't like what people ask dumb questions and stuff on Wung.

Speaker 4 (49:47):
You're not wrong about timing and the framing of the
question that matters to I have asked coach shure Reeve
questions about Team USA prior to a game, and I
have gotten it answers. What were your questions like I
was just about to say this was to your point
of timing. This was immediately when the roster was released.

(50:11):
She was playing Connecticut, and I said, how fortunate do
you feel that you will not only have to be
game planning against Alyssa Thomas, but everything that you know
about her as an opponent you get to have on
Team USA.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
Look at that beautiful.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
She talked about the things that she has to gain
plan against Alyssa and how she thinks that will help
Team USA. My question, my thought processing question, framing so
number one, that was literally when Team USA was being announced.
It was relevant. It was a relevant topic at the time. Right, Okay,
y'all are getting ready to play the fever. So a

(50:54):
question about Kaitlyn Clark isn't out the question. I mean,
it was an opponent that you're framing for. But I
think if you wanted to bring in Team USA or
throw up Team USA in that moment, I think your
question probably should have been structured more around how your team,
who has players that will be playing on Team USA

(51:16):
will be playing against players on Indiana who have players
that may.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
Not be playing a Team USA.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
And the All Star Games you WNBA.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
There you go, because you got Kelsey, you got Kaitlyn. Hey,
I know Kaitlyn Clark with somebody who was you know,
reported to be a contender for a Team USA spot. However,
she will be playing and on team WNBA. How do
you take what you you know guys are playing against

(51:52):
today or the scouting that you've done against her now
and help your players like anything, you could have done anything.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Y'all see how we can came up with questions in
two minutes. It's not so you want to be intentional
to ask a question like anything. Cloud chasing point, This
is no shades of my journalists. He knows what he's doing,
good friend of mine. No, no, tell Myron, it's not personal.
That just got on my nerves. But it ain't got
nothing none whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
It's not personal.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
However, I just thought this was a bad question, and
I thought it was bad timing as well. And I
know sure enough to know that she's gonna give it
to you straight, no chaser, and she will answer questions
if she feels the questions are relevant. The question in
this particular inst wasn't relevant period.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
Story. I feel like that's a great, great way to
uh wrap up this conversation and uh, head into jump
ball as we we have some hot takes that we
actually believe. We're not just throwing it out there. For Christma,
I don't subscribe to that. I know y'all don't, but
these are hot takes that a lot of people will

(53:00):
not agree with, and we're going to discuss that in
just a second. It's time for our jump ball segment
of this episode, and this time around it has to
do with WNBA hot takes for the second half of
the year that again we actually believe. And for me,

(53:21):
I feel like again y'all probably look at me silly,
and I'm waffling before. I'm waffling with this as we speak.
I think the Dallas Wings will end up making the
playoffs by some miracle when they get all their pieces back.
Satu sobly what she does. You're looking at eighteen points

(53:45):
that you don't have right now. Matty Secret's coming back,
hopefully the rookie Jalen Brown will be available. I know
they have not played well for a number of reasons,
whether style to play, the injuries, but I just can't
find it in me to count them out just yet.
So I think they're going to make the playoffs. They

(54:07):
have pieces. We saw what they did last year. They
gave the Aces a lot of trouble right during the
regular season. I think it can happen. So that that's
my hot take.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
Okay to Rika's tight lip grin. Whenever she does that,
in her mind, she's probably like, this is bs. But Okay,
I love you, but but no, she gave you the
tight lip grin. Chris, I don't know. I have a
lot of faith in the Lord. Maybe he will come
down and help them. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
He can't all things. You can do all things through Christ,
the God. Need him, Baby, They're gonna need Christ.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
I lie Buddha.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
My God. Today it wasn't outrageous take. Thank you, Chris.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
You know what stranger things have happened.

Speaker 4 (55:04):
They've won five games. They're four, you know, four games
out of out of eighth place. I cannot and will
not say that you are wrong. It's very possible. I
just think it is very improbable.

Speaker 1 (55:17):
Yeah, I'm with you, but I'm sticking to it.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
That's what's up those people.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
He's gonna stick beside him, so.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
That's that's what's up.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
I actually already gave my hot take earlier because we
were hot in conversation, and my hot take was that
I think Diana Tarazzi is gonna retire at this in
the second half of the season. So that's me.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
We've discussed, we've debated, but I'm that I'm convinced that
woman is saying.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
I'm done it. You're probably right, probably right, Yeah, I
gotta agree with you on that. For me, it's this
is only because I'm partial to the sky. I just
I just feel like there's something about this team. It's
something about their energy, you know. I feel like Camilla
Cardoso is gonna have a better second half of the
year that she's had in the first half. I got
them in the top five rounding out the once the

(56:00):
regular season is over, I got the gonna jump up there,
They're gonna jump up there, They're gona jump up. Feel
like I feel you know, how you had that miracle season,
you know, like on the Mighty Ducks when they was
terrible and then all of a sudden they were practicing
a lot, and they got in the V form and
they will learn how to do the V and stuff
on the ice, and they got real good beat everybody.
I feel like that's gonna be the case for the
Chicago's guy. Kennedy Carter is playing out of her mind.

(56:23):
I think Angelica's confidence is gonna increase. If you can
get Kennedy, angel and Camilla to be like on one
accord from an offensive output and defensive output at the
same time consistently, this team can beat anybody. In my opinion,
Teresa Weatherspoon is a special, special coach. If their record
was better, she'd be right up in their contingent for

(56:44):
Coach of the Year. I love what she's doing with
this team. I love the attitude that they have there.
They are a pack of dogs, and I mean that
in the most endearing way. I love what's happening in Chicago.
I got them going ahead and uh yeah, they gonna
be in a top five go ahead.

Speaker 3 (56:59):
And I don't know what Chris and Shari had in
that coffee this morning.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
I had a it's gone now. I don't drink coffee,
but I had a pre workout in my bottle. And
it doesn't make me delusional, but it does give me energy.
I'm just and part of this. I told you this
is my faith in the Lord. We talked about, you know,
him helping out the Dallas Wings. I believe that he
will be there to do the same, and he is
there to do the same for the Chicago's guy is
gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (57:24):
Producer Lauren.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
I think I think whatever the ship is they had
is unfair that I am giving. So next episode, hook
your girl up because I would love to have this
level of confidence that christ Shari man.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
Let me tell you, we got the faith of a
mustard seed. We are moving mountains. Do you understand me.
By the end of the season, these mountains, we have
spoken to the mountain be removed. It would be cast
into the sea if it's gon happen.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Oo, child, I was not expecting that. You said your
guy was gonna be said.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
That damn was gonna be good.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
So I didna they gonna make the player that come on,
it says they're gonna.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Be good to me. So hey, we both we're both
holding out and holding on hope and holding out on face. Hallelujah.
A man, somebody we said these were gonna be shocking takes.
That's what we gave.

Speaker 3 (58:17):
The you gave you were y'all were on and I
take that shocking y'all.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
However, yeah, we believe it that somebody in that Top
five gonna be kicked manifested miracles right now, and this
one I don't y'all.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
Well, guys, follow us at uh make sure you are

they're the ones.
