Speaker 1 (00:06):
With the Minnesota Viking season over for now a week
and a half, which feels like forever.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Ago is it even a week and a half? I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
It's Saturday, so it's been almost two weeks. SAFT season
speculation continues, Sam Donald, Where is he playing next year?
Speculation is going off the charts, and so much draft
talk already. Offseason needs biggest priorities. All of those things

(00:36):
are coming up on a different podcast episode. But today
on this show, we are gonna do some investigative journalism
on Sam Donald, and we're gonna take a look at
his tendencies in the past when he went from one
team to another, because he might be leaving some breadcrumbs.

(01:01):
If you've ever seen I Robot bread crumbs, Sam Darnald
might be leaving some bread crumbs to the Minnesota Vikings
fan base and other fan bases around the country that
might give some detail on his next.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Destination in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
So Darnald has played seven NFL seasons, He's bounced around
between four teams, and now he wants his payday because
he had a spectacular thirty five touchdown twelve interception season
on the Minnesota Vikings this year which for reference, the
Chicago Bears have never had a four thousand yard passer

(01:45):
and a thirty touchdown quarterback in a single season. So
as poorly as Sam Donald performed, he's still performed ten
times better than any historical Chicago Bears quarterback, just for
a reference. But Sam Donald wrote a letter on his

(02:09):
Instagram page, and let's just read what it says, year seven,
So grateful for my teammates, coaches, and the entire organization.
We created memories and relationships that will last a lifetime,

(02:35):
and we got to do it in front of the
best fan base in the world. Now, there's a few
things that catch my attention in Sam Donald's short message
to the Minnesota Vikings organization and the fan base. One
says we created memories and relationships that will last a lifetime,

(03:00):
and we got to do it in front of the
best fan base in the world. There's two things that
catch my eye, and that single sentence alone.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Number one, when it says.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
We created memories and relationships, that seems kind of reflective
on something that happened and won't happen again. It seems
like he's thinking back towards the season and is preparing
to leave the Minnesota Vikings organization, because let's be real

(03:33):
about this, as we are this podcast is one.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Percent of the time.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Sam Darnold knows if he is coming back on the
Minnesota Vikings next year. During his walkout meeting with the
organization with the head coach and general manager, they told
them their plans all of either franchise taking him, letting

(04:00):
them him walking free agency, and giving him his big
payday signing him to a two to three year contract.
Donald already knows where his potential destinations are next season,
whether that's with the Minnesota Vikings or with the Raiders,
with the Giants, or some other franchise in the NFL,
maybe at.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
The forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
So this message seems very reflective to me, and it's
almost a message that a professional athlete would take out
and put it in the newspaper, thanking their fan base
and paying for that and putting it on the front cover.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
That's how this looks to me.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
This doesn't just look like a year seven, a fun year,
Glad we made a run, Glad we won fourteen games,
can't wait to do it again next year.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
There's no can't wait to do it again next year.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
It seems very much like a post that's kind of
like a see you later, thank you for the memories,
And at the end.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
He says in front of the best fan base in
the world.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I actually think he believes that because this is the
first fan base that rallied behind Sam Donald in his
entire NFL career. The Jets after a year or two
year and a half, despised him, the Panthers didn't want him,
the forty nine Ers not intrigued, and the Minnesota Vikings

(05:35):
remember earlier in the year when Sam darnaldly had his
first injury scare in like week three or week four,
week five, and it must have been a week three
or Week four, because Week five was in London, and
the entire Minnesota Vikings fan base at US Bank Stadium went.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Dead silent.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Because they were nervous and scared that Sam Donald would
not return into the ballgame. Donald was beloved by the
Minnesota Vikings fan base during the season more than he's
ever been loved by any other franchise in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So when he says the best fan base.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
In the world, I actually believe that right now he
believes that maybe next year he goes to the Raiders
wins a bunch of games, calls them the best fan
base in the world, or maybe he goes somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Maybe it is the Raiders. He stinks fan base hates him,
and he's.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Still gonna call the Minnesota Vikings fan base the best
fan base in the world because of his experience during
the fourteen win season. Now, during the investigative part of
this podcast, Sam Darnald in year five posted something similar

(06:57):
when he was a part of the Carolina Panthers are
organization said this year five in the books, great memories
with even better people that I will cherish forever hashtag
keep pounding.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
In year five.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
He was with the Carolina Panthers, and year six he
is with the San Francisco forty nine Ers. So that
was practically Sam Donald's goodbye message to the Carolina Panthers
organization and fan base. Great memories with even better people
that will cherish forever. That's very reflective, that's very thinking

(07:36):
about the past, not necessarily next year with the same
organization and players. Now, year six he did not thank
the forty nine Ers organization. So that might be a
shot at my theory, but I don't think so. I
think that because he was a backup with the forty
nine ers, and you didn't have to make a post

(07:58):
like that. There's not a whole lot of memories to
be made.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Now.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
They went far, participated in the Super Bowl, but here's
the backup quarterback.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
He didn't need to make a post.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Let's stroll down a little bit further on Sam Donald's
Instagram page.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Let's go down to year three.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Year three, Sam Donald drafted by the Jets and played
three seasons with the New York Jets. And again the
year he left an organization, he made a similar post
year three. So much to learn from and so many

(08:42):
great teammates that grew closer with along the way.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Not the season we envisioned, but shared.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Moments with people that will never forget. Only up from here.
Now that one doesn't seem as reflective or as past oriented,
but it does a little bit, and it sort of
mimics the tone from his year five message goodbye to
the Carolina Panthers and his year seven message to the

(09:13):
Minnesota Vikings. So all signs and messages and conspiracies are
pointing towards, and investigative journalism are pointing towards Sam Darnold
leaving the Minnesota Vikings organization and becoming a part of

(09:35):
a different organization. Plus the Score North Boys at Purple Daily,
phenomenal pod. We've got a ton of subscribers, a bunch
of listeners. During one of their episodes recently, one of
the listeners wrote an email and said he was flying
on a plane and guess who was on that plane
with him to Las Vegas. Sure enough, Sam Donald. And

(10:03):
right now, with Pete Carroll being the head coach at
the Raiders, all of the speculation is that Russell Wilson
and Pete Carroll, who have mended fences allegedly, are gonna
try to make it work again.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
And you know, there could be some interest there.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
But Pete Carroll, he didn't coach Sam Donald, but he
was the head coach at USC, So there's some connection
there between Pete Carroll and Sam Donald. They were a
part of the same college at one point in time,
so there.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Is some connection there.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
And you know, people want to talk about the Russell
Wilson connection, there's a Sam Donald connection. Is flying to
the Las Vegas It seems like that aligns. There's some
investigated journalism happening here. We are going behind the scenes
into Sam Donald's social media tendencies, and I think that

(11:08):
there is some realistic opinions here. I believe what I'm
saying is true that Sam Donald knows that he will
be a part of or will not be a part
of the Vikings organization next year because of their meetings,
and he kind of wrote a goodbye letter to the

(11:29):
Vikings fan base that he called the best fan base
in the world. He did that in year five with Carolina,
he did it in year three with the New York Jets.
Kind of seems important and it kind of seems like
a tendency from Sam Donald. So that's my take. Thank
