having me long overdue. This is the first time and
we had this conversation last time I seen you. This
is the first time you're not in training camp since
what middle maybe junior high.

Yeah, I mean it's it's definitely weird, and this is
a new, uncharted territory for me. But I mean I
feel like, you know, I'm where I'm supposed to be.
All to you, I'm thirty seven, okay, but I feel

can't really what ifs and all this. I think that
the universe put me in a situation to be right
here with my family, enjoying them. We got a three
month old, had a beautiful little baby, just had a baby. Yeah,

so I'm able to spend more time with them. It's
less practice, is less training camp. I'm still working out
every day, but yeah, it's definitely new. And I've now
I've asked, like damn, I wish I had more time
with the boys, and yeah, you know, date nights and
stuff like that. Now I'm getting it and I can't
do anything but be grateful for it.

I asked. We went golfing was about a month ago now,
and I asked him. I looked him in his eyes, like, bro,
you at peace if this if you played your last season?

single mom, three three younger brothers, you know this is
a dream. I'm all saying, like, uh, to be drafting
the NBA play seventeen years, you know, networking me so
many great people. It's taken me to places I couldn't
have imagined, you know, met great people, great people who

have saved my career, kept me in the league for
a very long time, you know, and I ended up
doing so many great things individually, won a championship, go medal,
things like that. So I've exceeded every expectation that I
have for myself as a player.

right when we got there, it was crazy. We land
in Amsterdam, we were pulling past them. What was the

was right next to us. Our hotel is right next

to it, and we we were walking and we look
in and we see Big Baby in there. No clue,
no it was he. He was He was on our
team that time, right, yeah, yeah, so no clue he
was going to be there, no clue we were going
to be there.

So we start busting up. So our girls take our
ship to the room. We go over here and start smoking.
And then we're smoking and we hear someone bumping whiz

him upside down and poured water like from here and

Got so loud that we went out there and looked,
and coming down the canal, it was Wiz bumping his

be staying in our hotel. All this ship is like
the first hour we're in Amsterdam. It was insane. Also,
this is the same trip that someone took a picture

we've got so much stuff together, like bad ship, but
just didn't like me and DJ see each other take

then when I got back, we had to relive the

second time my life. First time was snoop and they
came in under the windows and brought fans and rich

on this boat? Long story short, We went on this
fucking boat and her dad was the lawyer for the

had a boat underneath it. It was one of them big
boys and we kicked it with them all. It was

you're writing every every morning on social media learning Japanese,
Like you're entrenched in that culture. What was your fascination?
Why'd you want to start learning?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I think we would do those trips overseas, like abroad.
Before the season started. We went to China a couple
of times, so I got into meditation while we were
out there.

And then I went back to school during COVID.

I didn't know that yeaheah graduated. No, no, yeah, it's
hard to take a full course load during the season.
But uh soon I got like ten classes left there,
so and then I'll say I'm smart.

I got into zen Buddhism and then uh with that
learning about Japanese culture. The culture is great, architecture, fashion, food,
all that. And then they offered the language course at
the school and I was like, well, Dann, this is
kind of I kind of wanted to get into it.
And I took it all last year and I'm keeping
it up right now, which is which is good.

that that aren't extremely athletic, but they know how to

that was the first time being on a team like
that because I made the Olympics before I made the
All Star team, and uh, this was cool because in
twenty sixteen, I was a first team All NBA, first
team All Defense, but didn't make the All Star team.

was great to be able to play for a legendary
