TikTok star and host Jake Shane joins Jenna and Kevin to talk about his favorite show, GLEE, but not before freaking out a bit!

Could Jake be the "Queen Gleek" of them all? He tells the duo that he's loved the show since he was a little kid and how he's still not over being grounded and missing the live tour. The trio also discusses their favorite Glee numbers, including a shocking pick, and now that he's older and re-watching the show for the fourth time, what he really thinks of some of the plot lines!

Plus, Jake talks about how he went from a theater kid to TikTok fame, why he started his podcast, and his own Glee fanfic involving his dream Taylor Swift Tribute!

know he a massive Glee fan. The Stars Aligned, Kevin,
the Stars Aligned. I know. It makes me feel good
that someone that's funny and creative and clever as him
is a Glee fan. You know likes Clee as much
as Yes.

Yeah, so just get ready for everybody's favorite local comedian.
You know, I'm trov's specialist. It's Jake Shane.

Speaker 1 (00:58):

Speaker 1 (01:16):
It's so funny. It's so funny.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
You're so funny. You guys are so funny. No, you're funny,
You're funny. Oh my god, thanks for coming on this show.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Thank you so much, No, thank you for having me.
I'm so excited right now.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Oh god, oh my god. You have that video where
you do the l and you just sit there. Oh
and I start crying and you start crying. And that's
what I like, because it was brilliant.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Why I was like, why did I do that? When
did I think of that? Like there was like no
rhyme or reason, but it made sense. It may it
makes sense.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I got it. Yeah, well I felt something. You know,
you felt something, you see, you just had to put
things out there and find their audience. I think I
was channeling when I tried to see you guys at
Radio City Music Hall and I threw a temper tantrum
and my mom's punishment was that I couldn't go see
you guys. It was foul, that is dark, and I

(02:25):
haven't seen all the Facebook photos of it. I was
so mad.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Did you see the second tour? No, of course I didn't.
My mom punished me for life. I was like a
temper tantrum kid like.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
It was nobly for you ever again.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
No literally, Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Well it's okay. You didn't miss much.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
And now I'm on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Well, welcome to the show. It's very exciting to have
you here. You're you're a gleek. You're also a TikToker.
You're also I'm going to icon truly, truly, I would
like to hear about how you made your way to

(03:11):
the talk.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
The talk, okay, to the top of the talk. I'm
going to condense it for you, guys. Okay, I started
this octopus review account on Instagram called past that Puss.
It was really bored, like I was in college and
I just finished my internship and I was basically just
waiting to finish college and start full time, and I

(03:34):
was like what to do in the meantime, and so
I thought of that and then eventually someone was like,
you should bring it to TikTok, and so I did
and it kind of moved the needle and like kind
of didn't. And then I just kept posting on TikTok
and then it started growing really slowly, and then I
started doing these like historical skits and that's what really
took off. And then now I'm here is long story short,

(03:58):
because you have a gift. Thank you. You guys have
a fucking gift.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I'm truly amazed at how many videos you make and
they're all funny, and how you come up with content
do you literally just like do they do? They come
to you? Do you just they come to you and
then you film them, Like how does that work?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Like I have like a bunch of different bits. But
when I'm in like a creative like streak, like I'll
basically just be spending a lot of time with my
friends and we'll be like going through comments and just
trying a bunch of different stuff out. But I need
I learned to like maybe star I used to do
like five or six skits a day, but people don't
understand it's like really hard to be really funny all

(04:41):
the time, totally really really really really really burned out.
So I try to like I'm trying to like space
it out a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Now for your sanity. There's a lot of videos in
one day.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
It was a lot for really for like six months too.
I was doing like a million a day, and I
was like I just yeah, well that's why you've taken
over the world.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Right, Well you do a lot of the comments, right
do you take your comments? And then you were like
how did that start?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I saw Julia Fox like do this like acting challenge
thing where she was like comment something and all act down.
It was just like super random stuff, and then I
did it. I was like I saw Believe Fox do this.
I want to do this, and then I kind of
I remember like the first there was this one about
like Bill Clinton and like Monica Lewinsky, and I was like,
I was like, my whole pocket point of it at

(05:29):
first was like you know, I'm like a good actor,
you guys like I can do this, so like I
was like looking at how he spoke and stuff, and
then I was like just it was like midnight, and
I was like, fuck, I like promise the pussies I
would do this because put the pussies on my followers.
Yeah we're the pussies. Okay, yes, great, so we're all aligned. Yeah,
so I and then I just like did it kind

(05:50):
of like in a jokey tone, and that's where kind
of like the historical stuff started coming about doing it
and like a gen Z meets like the year nineteen ten,
which I I didn't think it would really resonate that well,
but people really liked it, and I'm really happy they
did because that's just like my humor. And I'd like
always like to say like touches on the fact that
like people never change, like we've always been this petty, annoying.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
It's an important lesson because sometimes you feel like you
have to do you want to be. Bill Clinton was like,
maybe just put me into this.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah that's what. Yeah, I just I put I put
me into it and you know, channeled my inner ratul Berry.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
It's also like taking They're like giving you inspiration, do
you know what I mean? You're not having to come
up with every videos. It's like, I feel.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Like it's like a big game of improv. Like I
used to take theater when I was a kid, and
there would be like people who would throw out scenario
like you guys obviously did like improv throw out a
scenario will Which is what this feels like, right, Yeah,
it feels like I'm playing a game kind of yet prompts. Yeah,
I love the bombs. That brings me to what were

(06:55):
you like growing up? Because did you grow up? And
try to find this photo of me like I doing
the glee thingy, Like I have a million of them.
I couldn't find them for some reason because I got
a new computer. But I was a theater kid, I was,
but more than that. More than a theater kid, I
was a big TV kid, Like I was a gleek,

(07:16):
like I was watching like a lot of reality TV.
I was watching like Desperate Housewives watching I don't know
if you guys remember like Revenge on a like Scandle
just like that was like like and I would like
make things my personality, so like I was like a
little monster for a few years, but then I was
really like really a gleek and like that that took

(07:39):
up like four or five years of my childhood.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Oh wow, did you important childhood?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Child?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I know, I'm not even gonna.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Sorry, just most can't okay too much. I can't you
see what we did. We are the reason why we
birth a generation.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
You did birth me. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
A fan the other day did say to me you
raised me, and I was like, that is amazing. It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
The best part about Glee is like I like when
I was a kid, I'm like, no, like these storylines
like they make sense, Like this is like making sense
to me. And then like I'm watching it now again
for like the fourth time, and I'm like, wait, what
is happening?

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Right, it's like your your writer's room, Glee.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Like what is happening? Like she meets Dina Manzelle and
then she's like, heady, don't want to be your mom
and she's like okay, and then it comes back and
her lady got out. But he's like, wait, can you
actually show me a new one?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
And I'm like what, No, But you had draw like
any unhinged the many unhinged storylines of Glee into that video,
because there's so many of them, at least one. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
You guys mine at the time where you like, this
is ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
No, I don't thinking watching it now, I feel like
I think we feel the same as you. We're like,
we don't, right, because I think we were just it
was a couple of things, right, like, oh, it's our job,
we're taking very seriously do this thing. And then I think,
because you're in it and you're in the scene, that's

(09:22):
your only perspective. And then when we're watching it, like
they used to screen them for us, and so then
we'd be like, oh my god, that number is amazing
and were great in that scene, so there was no
way to like disassociate ourselves from what was happening. Right,
So now watching you're like, oh my god, do.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
You guys have like a favorite number? Oh my god, I'm.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Able to ask you guys to this, you can't ask
us anything. Somebody who Love is my favorite group number.
My god, we closed the tour with that, so you
did miss that. I'm a special one for us. Did
you seek three D?

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Of course I saw Glee three D? I mean my
dad take me.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
It didn't sure enough for that, They let you go.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
D. Was it just YouTube in the theater? Yeah, but
I was like, what's happening? Like I don't really know,
Like I used to save all the magazine covers with
like you and our parents.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Kevin, what was your favorite number?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Somebody Love?

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Obviously, but I really liked when we had to learn
push it.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It was a really.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Great bonding exercise because it was so early and we
were all just like humping each other on stage.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, that's a great episode.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
And it was a really good episode also because it
was the first episode that we actually started filming after
the pilot got picked up and we showed it to
the crew. We've talked about this before, but like mode
of my fondest memories, Like we knew we had been
working on that number.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
For a month and it's so simple. That's how bad
we were.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Oh yeah, we were.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Working from a month before the pilot but before we
started doing it, that was the longest we've ever worked
on anything.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
It was like push it somebody to love and right
last name, last name, last name, And it took everyone
a really long time weeks, but we showed the crew
that and their jaws are on the floor, like god,
what have we signed up to do?

Speaker 1 (11:25):
The sweet people with like families and children at home
and there we are like humping each other and we've
it felt so normal to so great it did. It
did so to be a part of a show like, oh,
this is going to make people feel uncomfortable and laugh,
Like I'm a fan of that. That's what I want
to do, funny that show. Since you were watching, do

(11:52):
you have a favorite like unhinged storyline? Like what are
some of your favorite ones that feel feel like so crazy? Now?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Okay, I'm really I need to like really wrap my
head around, Like, okay, I have a few. My favorite
on Hinde storyline is probably like just like the whole
thing about like Sue being obsessed with like Kurt and Blaine,
Like that felt so do you remember that? Like like
and she like traps them in the elevator, like what

(12:23):
is happening? Like were you watching that and like we
what yes? And then also when when Rachel sends I
forget her I forget her in VASI.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Sun Sunshine coorison to the yeahsane, like actually.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Like I just like I cry laughing because it's so funny.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
My favorite on Hinte storyline that I was actually in
that I don't think I realized was so unhinged until
it was. Everybody else told me it was when she
sits on Blame while you like passed out and puts
vapor rub oliver his chest and like is like looking
lovingly into his eyes, like I may as well just
put like a knife in his heart at that point.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
I remember that episode was that.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
That that was like Caitie Hawkins time, So that's that
must have been season four rightly on the alcohol right, no, no, no,
that it's much much later than that. So this is
when Tina is a huge crush on Blade and that's
also ridiculous, But that was pulled from my life, like growing.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Up in musical theater.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
So it's fine, but I don't think I realized how
unhinged it was until like fans were like, that's literally crazy,
like crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
It feels like someone's just like smoking and like balancing
ideas off of each other and like puts it in
a multimillion dollar networkshop.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Right.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But I also love about your video about the writer's room.
I was saying, like the first two seasons are just Brad,
Ryan and Ian, so it's like two straight guys and
Ryan Murphy and so like a lot of it does
not if you see that the piano guy.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
No no, no, no, Brad.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah got it, he directed the episode.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Now, oh they met on glate. But anyway, Brad Ian
and Ryan yes wrote the entire first two seasons by themselves,
So forty four episodes just by themselves.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Damn.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
So maybe when it comes to like the Gaga sewing
outfit stuff, maybe that's just why like.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Britney s peers, like how do you think of that? Oh?
My god? Like you know what I mean, Like how
do you what? Like the whole I don't know, like
or when like in uh, when they I think it's
actually think it was regionals when they when you guys
battle the deaf the Deaf.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Team, like what hell? Yeah, yeah, it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
The whole thing is amazing. Like did you.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Because some videos you posted on TikTok you're watching some
of these episodes with your friends back then, like when
this show was actually for the first time, did you
force people to watch with you?

Speaker 2 (15:10):
No? I was alone some gleek like I was like
in I think it was you guys aired on like
Tuesdays or Wednesdays, like if we switch off, I'd be
in my TV room right on time, not Peter up,
and then I'd watch it alone. And then I did
my first real big rewatch like six years ago. I
also did that alone, this time with friends because our

(15:31):
friend Kennedy has never seen it and so she's like
freaking out over it. How does this exist? I'm like,
it's fucking gleek.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Oh yeah, So tell me about the Kennedy because I'm
just curious for somebody who's watching it for the first
time what their experience is like watching it in twenty
twenty four, she's.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Like in awe, She's like like I've seen it before
or so like I like can go in and out.
But she's like it was like giving someone like hard drugs.
It felt like like she every time I saw or
she's like, can we watch Glee? And I'm like, like,
you can watch Glee like alone, like I don't. She's like,
you know, we all need to be together and we
all need to be watching Glee. Like so we really
watched it like every day for weeks. Kennedy just would

(16:11):
stop wanting to watch.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Oh she's into it, She's.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
How could you not be? The whole thing is just like.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Oh, I don't know, I don't know it.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's hard for us to like clock that. So we
need people like you and Kennedy to tell us. I
wish I had Kennedy with me right now. She'd be
freaking out.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Bring her back sometimes I will. What what was it
about Glee that that got you hooked?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Like?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Was it a character, a storyline? The whole thing? The music?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Like?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (16:45):
It was the music? It was also like I saw,
like I really felt like I was like, oh, I'm
Rachel Berry, like I am her, like I am her,
and then also like I live for a really good
like needle drop in a TV show like where it
ends with a song. Every episode of Glee ends with

(17:07):
a song.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
So usually.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
For it like every week at the like they hooked
me back even if I found myself faltering, like I
get hooked back in just because they have the song
at the end.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
It's your very specific niche type.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, show, we made it just for you.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Did you like the tribute episodes?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Oh? I loved the tribute episodes. I'm trying to think.
My favorite one was obviously the Britney Spears one that
was like one of your first I remember you Madonna
was great because you played it in everyone's office, but
Emma's like, that's amazing, so good, and then like Madonna
was great, Goggle was amazing, Britney was amazing. Brittany was amazing,

(17:51):
just because I remember being obviously like every like I
don't know if you guys realized at the time, but
like everyone was talking about how he was doing Britney Spears,
like everyone was talking about it, like it was like,
this is the Brittany episode. And then Brittany actually came out,
which was even crazier and like it was a whole thing,
Like I think that Brittany will always be my favorite crazy.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yeah, and has no knowledge of any of that.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yeah, No, it was the very big deal when you
guys did Brittany, Like I was like ten, and I remember.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Yeah, a lot of fans lately, like through the podcast
we've connected with, have told like Brittany is one of
their favorites. And I never would have thought that or
even pegged it for myself because it feels so crazy,
like there's not even in the tribute episodes, most of them,
it feels like there's not even they cut off the
dialogue just to fit in all the songs.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Right.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
It feels so manic, but yet like it doesn't really
matter because it's just it's the artist, right, We're like
honoring the artist. It was a Brittany was really fun though,
especially to watch Heather Morris do all of the Brittany
she was a big fan, Like.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I would just have to say, like, Heather Morris, like,
I feel like that was like the first real intro
we had to her character. Yeah, at like her and
Santana's like relationship and the way they speak to people,
and like it just really like felt like a catalyst
to like the rest of the show. That episode felt
like very important.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Brittany was like kind of created in front of her eyes,
Like Brittany has peers. Yeah, so yes, Like Heather would
like would do these really crazy, like ridiculous things and
then Ryan'd be like can you do that again? And
she would just do it on camera or like he
would be like, hey, Heather, just say this line and
I think that's where dolphins or just Geker sharks or

(19:33):
maybe Ian wrote that. I don't know, but those lines
like that, like they Ryan would just spit them at
her and she'd say them back and we'd all just
like cackle because so ridiculous. Lot. Oh yeah, it's that,
which was bad because you have that choir room and
there's eighty of us, right, and everybody has like a line,

(19:55):
and so one of us would fuck up and start
laughing because Brittany would have some insane thing to say, Well,
how are we supposed to get through this? So, especially
when Ryan was directing, it was like it was terrified
to start laughing.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Sometimes everyone was.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Just so good that you had to. Yeah, like there's
no way to avoid it. I also like the Brittany
episode was like Heather's coming out. Oh yes, of like
this is also the Heather Moors tribute episode. It's like,
watch how talented she is. I imagine if I was
like a viewer, had no association that I would also

(20:30):
be obsessed with that.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, it was the say last episode ever that and
like god, my other favorite Sorry if we're just talking
for you guys. My favorite would be when you guys
would like break a song just because it would maybe
be such a moment and like the culture, so like
when and the best part is when I would watch
it in real time. So I watched the Forget what

(20:54):
an episode it was, but you guys said we are
young and that broke that song like they broke fun
and like I remember, it was such a like it
was a feeling like, oh my god, I really liked
that song, and then you would look it up and
then oh, it's number one on iTunes, and then when
I did say it was everywhere and it just felt like,
oh my god, well I was there when there?

Speaker 1 (21:13):
That's so interesting, like you felt like a part of it,
like a part of it was a culture.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Leak of the week, like the Glee Project, Like.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Come on, you watched the Glee Project? Yes, and you
were invested.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
I was like eleven, you could like throw me like
Glee dog food and I would have eaten there. Can
we just throw it like I would have eaten it?
I'm serious.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
What about Lord Tummington? Did you like Lord Tummington?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Yes? I do.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
For two, I really want that to come back somehow.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
That would be such a digital series, like yeah, little
TikTok series something which is oh my god. If they
brought upon for two, it would be like it would
like stop the world, like do it like raise money
for charity, but do fondue for two?

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yes, great idea, thout, Jam, I'm just texting you asked
Ryan about fond Okay, I'll text Ryan Okay, that would
be so brilliant. I remember the cheese was disgusting.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Oh god, it looked honestly.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
It's sweet cat. You just be like, he doesn't want
to be here, sent him.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
You don't know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
He's so fat, so fat. I remember when that was
in the script. I was like, what the fuck is this?
Or the mouse for the Christmas episode? Remember Cord had
like the little mouse in the Christmas episode? And then
you remember what season it was, It must have been
like four or five, Oh my god, Christmas. Well the
Christmas episodes also were wildly unhinged, all of.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Them always, and I think the one I recently just
watched was the one where they say us sing Last
Christmas and Rachel at dinner fighting, like I remembering correctly, Yeah,
like yeah, that's that's the one that sticks out to
me the most.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Did you like the Christmas album? Did you listen to
the Meat Christmas Music too?

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yeah? I like Christmas music, but I was I was
way more into like the stuff like when you guys
would do like a nineties or eighties and the rock
like like those were like the best like or anything.
Journey like, I'll say it till the day I die.
My favorite, my favorite performance of all time is the

(23:32):
Journey metally melody you guys do out regionals in season one.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I personally the other day I woke up and was like,
I think I need to listen to my friend. We're
driving the car, and he's like, I just want to
hear this Journey song. And we got through one Journey song.
I was like, I'd like to hear the Glee version
of that.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah, you have to hear the Glee version.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
And then went through all the like Journey Glee covers,
went through all the like classic rock covers we did,
and yes, right, all that Journey ship is good actually
objective and Leah's singing Journey was also something that was
particularly perfect.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Feeling out honestly, Journey, I think we just because it
don't stop. We had such an aversion to Journey for
a while and it was like mister Shoes thing that
I personally as Jenna, was like I don't want to
do any more Journey, but like listening back now you're like,
give me it all, do it again? Like I do
it again? Oh yeah, that Journey mashup was so goodly good.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
It was faithfully don't stop believing there was one more.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
What's that one, Kevin, No, you can't get what you want?
That's rolling Stones.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yes that's not the one.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Then no, sorry, it's so.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Oh the girls did love and touch and squeeze and
that's the.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
One I'm thinking of any way you want it? Yes,
oh god, it was so good I could I can't
even do the cariography still, Like what about the mashups?

Speaker 2 (25:03):
They get up and it goes to silot and then
they do it was good.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
It was they did live and it was so good,
so good, dumb.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Okay, my question for you guys. I'm sorry, I know
I'm not the host of this, but I just have
a question. And for seven years, could everyone sing at
first or did some people really have to take like
vocal lessons? Because I like how can everyone just say
because everyone could sing.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
We did have to sing for auditions. That was the
one thing that we did have to do. Some people
saying much better than others, that's for sure. Yes.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
The thing is so Corey had never sung before, right,
so he learned. Kidding, but he was great, and he
learned sort of in real time. Like you go from
not singing at all to then being in a recording
studio and doing all kinds of genres of different music
and they going on tour.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
So the one who really had to, like I think,
start from scratch, like even in the shower in the pilot,
like are you keating?

Speaker 2 (26:11):
You could just say yes, and what is he saying?
I can't fight that feeling?

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yes, so good Corey would have to make the biggest leap,
if you will. But yeah, everybody could sing. I mean
everybody can sing. Yeah, it's some people can sing better.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
But we all definitely also got help. Yeah, well scooched
up that note just a little bit when we were
a little under.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
I mean, nobody sings better than Amber Riotley, that's the truth.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Oh yeah, that wasn't fair, just not that was just like,
oh I shouldn't sing, this is give it to Amber.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeah what did she sing? It was her versus, wasn't it?
Her and Rachel were competing for a solo. What were
they singing? Oh yeah, or with that note? That was
Kurt and Rachel. They were singing to fying. But then
Amber and Rachel also competed for a solo and I
forget what it was, but it was insanity take me
a leave me? No? Was it one story?

Speaker 1 (27:11):
I think you're right here the audition? It was the auditions, yes, right?

Speaker 2 (27:14):
And then also she also didn't Amberley also saying I
am telling you oh yes, yes, I mean that was
like life changing.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
What about the mashups? Like, so, tell me about your
mashup experience, because.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
I remember they intro the mashups the episode everyone took
like the adderall thing. Yeah, and my favorite was my
favorite mashup. I liked the the one where they do
it like it's my life great. My favorite was the
walking on Sunshine.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Oh yeah, and we are learning this too, that that
is one of the favorite mashups.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
I never roles are so like cracked out and like
it's like so and everyone's like, what's happening?

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yeah? I still around of course.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Yeah, like we were even on camera and they had
us leave the room and I kept going in just
to watch you film it.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
My neck is what did it hurt? Like? Did you
with it like hard to like move that fast? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I actually I had like a real neck injury after
that number. I blashed my neck so badly, like.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
I guess like you guys go ahead.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Because they kept saying, like hair, get your hair, like
move your hair, so like I just kept flipping my
head and Heather and I just kept flipping our heads
so much so that like I actually felt like I
had whiplashed the next day and like couldn't. I couldn't
move my neck. It was really bad. And my neck
has never been the same. I mean, my knee is
my back.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
I wonder how Heather did that.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
She's a dancer, Okay, it's like she does God's work,
and that's that is right, that is correct, that is correct.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
But I just don't.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
I recently saw a video of Heather dancing with Beyonce
single Ladies on something. They're also like whipping them.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
And it's so power to move like.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
That, like I do that and I get ahead media.
My really rogue favorite performance is also Paradise by the
dashboard light.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
That was what was crazy.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
I remember when you started singing, I'm like, the fuck
is this song? Like, I'm like, what is happening? And
then this is what you do with every single one
of your cast numbers. By the end of it, the
chemistry is just so there, and I was like, wait,
this is like my new favorite thing.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
That was the craziest thing we've ever done.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
It.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
It's such a long song and it's so wild.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
It was so good. What were you saying?

Speaker 3 (29:34):
This is like really reassuring because our whole theory, it
was like we keep hearing like inklings of this that
that is like a low key favorite of so many people.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
And now I feel like it's just confirmed. You've confirmed it.
The Queen Queen has spoken, Yes.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
The Queen Lee becuspoken and Paradise by the DA all time,
and so was Ruth before Branches. No, yeah, what I said.
I said. What I said. I was sobbing at my TV,
sobbing when I was twelve years old, and I'll never
get that feeling back.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
And I'll never get that time back.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Same Branches, like, do people not like it?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Like I thought that was like, actually I don't know,
so I'd like to hear if you like it, because
we had a very It was just such a we
were at a train station. I don't know where the
fuck we were, what we were doing. We were just
we were being hooligans that day. Obviously, like Leah and
Corey had acting to do, but we didn't have anything
to do, so we were just being hooligans, right, And

(30:41):
I remember that song and I was like, what is
this you were doing? And she's just walking through all
of us and I was like, where are we? That
was the listening. I was like, like, I unacceptable, unacceptable,
I do, but I do love a good running after
a train moment. Oh, of course. It was just I

(31:02):
don't know, we're too close, We're too close. And it
was also the last day of filming for the season,
and so we were crazy people yeah mentally but okay,
I mean the Queen has spoken again. Please tell us
what you guys think about reads before Branches because I
need to know.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Yeah, and I alone in this feeling like I thought,
I don't think you are because I feel like I
have ignored some comments of people saying they like, well.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Like run Joey run.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Oh, I loved Run Joey Ron and I also like
just loved Jesse's Girl, and then in Age Dream and
all the War and obviously Somewhere Only We Know and
Cough Syrup and just all the classics. There's so many,
Like they show me an album just of the Glee classics,
because you guys sang so many songs. But if you
put all the classic numbers in an album, it's make

(31:52):
my life here honestly in terms of experience right.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Into the list.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
We'll talk to Ryan about that too, Lord Tubington, Glee
Greatest Hits, I still want to Troubletnes greatest Hits.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Oh my god, that's what I want. Oh yeah, Do
you have any other questions about Glee?

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Not to put you on the spot, Yeah, Like I
have a million. Like what was your like, what was
like the most fun you guys ever had filming? Like?
What episode were you like? Oh, I've never had more
fun in my life than filming this episode.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Blame it on the alcohol. Is very fun.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Oh yeah, well that's like.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
The party scene. That was all very very fun.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
The competitions were not like building the competitions, I love
how they look, yeah, but filming them it was not.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
So many people. Yeah, long days, right of doing the
number of billion times and then having to like wait around,
and then the other teams that we were competing against
would have to do all theirs in the same day.
So it was just like pandemonium. It's like and then
the judges and like and then you have like Lindsay
Lohan there, it's all crazy, really crazy.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Were always so funny.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Really funny. I also really I know it was a
crazy but the Christmas episode with the Mary's boy child
and like that one, it wasn't like my favorite stuff
to shoot, right, but I remember feeling so like while

(33:23):
here we are and so like having fun doing it.
Do do you think I'm crazy? Kevin? Yeah, it's my memory.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Did you guys understand filming the Rocky Horror Pictures Show episode?

Speaker 1 (33:37):
That was really hard?

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Right?

Speaker 1 (33:40):
I didn't have much to do. It was really hard.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
You know.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
That was the first time I saw hather Mores cry
because it was like a really long day and her
like tears started to fill up her eyes and I
was like, that bitch never complains. And I was like
it was like one am. We were still in those
like tap dancing costumes at like wigs and sequins on
and we were doing time warp for like the thousandth time,
and like it is, it's a lot. There was big

(34:07):
numbers like that, it's the finale, like they take a
lot of time and it was just it was a
really long episode. There's just so much to do and cover.
So they're fun and they're fun to rewatch, but like
remembering what they were like to do was actual sometimes
like help, Yeah, of course New.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
York was fun.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Oh no, you go into New York to film was
actually very fun. Oh that was that was really really shit.
That's actually I think my favorite. Yeah, that was fun.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
We were just that was Nationals right when we lost. Yeah,
mad that he won, and I remember you got back
to school and you were feeling and everyone was like,
finally gave you guys the respect you deserved. And then
my favorite scene in Glee ever is when you guys,
you guys won. I totally forget what it was, but
everyone was walking into school. I think it season one,

(35:01):
feeling so good about themselves because finally, like Glee Club,
I think they had one like sectionals. It was the
back man.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
I think when we got picked.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Up, someone just slushy you guys, And then I.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Was like, that's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
How did you feel because you said you were like
Rachel Berry growing up? You saw you're Rachel Berry. When
Leah do edit your video on TikTok, I.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Was like shaking. Yeah. I was like wait, like what
And I called all my friends and I was like screaming,
and then I started dmm eter and she was so
lovely and I was like house my life and I
was like I wasn't on these fucking meds that I'm on,
Like I would definitely be freaking out way more than
I am. But I'm just freaking out.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
It was a really funny one. It was very good.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Which one did she do again?

Speaker 1 (35:49):
It was the pepper one, the one with the phone
call with the pepper.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Yes. And the best part about it is when like
actors like Duet my stuff is like, there's so good,
Like they're so good at it. So it really the
whole skit to life in a really funny way. Yeah,
but so are you you're crazy? Like Zoe Deschanel did once,
the Jonas Brothers did once. Who else did I honestly get? God?

(36:20):
I Louise. If Louise is here? He tell me if
I'm wrong, But I think Carrie Washington did once, and
I doubt about it.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
I would have died.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah, she definitely did. She definitely did. And I can't
think of of any other ones off the tip of
my tongue, but I know there's been a few, and
it's been absolutely wild.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Harry Washington's a good one.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
We used to like because Scandal's on at the same
time as Glee, and so we used to like see
her at events and things.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
And I remember the first time I spoke to her.
She came up to me and acted like she knew
me and I she was so nice and was like,
there's a bunch of us and she was talking to
all us and I couldn't handle it.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
TV was so then. Yeah, Yes, you would Scandal, you
would Revenge, you would Grace anatomy, you like to get
away with murder started at least it was so good.
I'm pretty sure Desperate Housewives was still on the air,
like it was so good.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
That's so true. I missed that. I really too.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I missed that too. It was like Housewives, Yeah, I
got it was such a I think the reason people
loved Gleasa so much. It was kind of this like universal.
Everyone was watching it and there was nothing that like
unites our country more than a really good TV show.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
You know, I get it. You're not wrong.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Oh my god, Homeland was on at the time, but
I like everyone freaking out about like a million different shows.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Yes, I was watching The Good Wife, I think at
the same time. Oh my god, so I haven't either.
Six Feet Under was on. It was a really good
time for you. That's right. Oh my gosh. They were
so funny. Tell us about your podcast.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
I have a podcast called Therapists, which I would love
for you guys. And are you guys based in La Yeah,
I would love to have you guys on.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
But that is consider it.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
I would be so honored. And I'll have Kennedy there. Yes,
I'll have Kennedy there. Great any time called Therapists And
it was born out of this thing when I would
ask people like tell me what's wrong on my Instagram
story and I would kind of give pretty like and

(38:49):
did responses that I didn't think I'd be able to
share on TikTok because I thought people would right, people
really really really liked it, and I really wanted to
do a podcast, and it was kind of that situation
where like I had built off the name, so we
were just bouncing names around and then like I was
trying like different like ways of like adding puss in

(39:09):
and then I was like, oh, therapist, and then I
was like, tell me what's wrong. And then so I
just made this whole podcast about like tell me what's wrong.
And I thought there's so many interview Like there's so
much like where like they're the person there is getting
like grilled, and I was like, I just want to
have something where it can like this, where it can
just be fun. Yeah, we're answering audience questions, and I'm

(39:31):
kind of playing off the crowd work that got me
to be in this position to make a podcast, and
like my whole thing is kind of like virtual crowd work.
And then eventually I obviously want to expand it to
like live shows and actual tangible crowd work, but like
the whole concept of the show is based in that
idea of like crowd work and like build in community,
and it's like it's been really really fulfilling and fun

(39:53):
to do amazing.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Speaking of live shows, you're doing your first show in
May at the Airline Improv, So congratulations. That's awesome. I
would love to see you live.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
I would die if you guys came.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Okay, we're coming.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Okay, my name brov.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
Okay, and tell me about this show, like what made
you want to do the live show and what is
this show going to be or do you know yet?

Speaker 2 (40:17):
I know it's going to be like Therapist live? Okay, okay,
but I got my toes wet. I did two college shows.
I did one at Arkansas and I did one at Syracuse.
I just remember I was so I just said this yesterday,
but I was so you know, when you post a
video online, the worst thing that could happen is not

(40:38):
a lot of people will see it, and then the
worst thing that could happen in a live show is
no one will show up. Is like just was replaying
in the back of my mind, back of my mind,
and then I did Arkansas was the first one I
ever did, and I just remember like the feeling of
connecting with everyone like in a live set. It was
like it was like I was like, oh my god,

(40:59):
I see why people are like addicted to this, like
like a theater kid again. And I was back on stage.
I just love being on stage. And I love being
doing TikTok and like doing this virtual stage, but there
is something to be said for doing it in person.
It really, it really is just like one of the
most fulfilling things I've ever done. So I'm really excited
to like actually bring this podcast on the road and

(41:20):
like do live shows and like connect with the people
that I speak to in my YouTube chat every week exactly.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
That has to be so like such a wild feeling,
especially because you've become so big on these social media platforms,
and to actually get to see the faces of the
people and they understand your humor so they're there to like, yeah,
they get.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
It, they got you, they get it. It's like also,
like you have such a hard time visualizing all the
people that follow you, is like just like it becomes
such a number, right, you know, but then you see
it in person and you're like, oh my god, and
this is just four hundred of you, you know what
I mean. It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
How exciting we have to go, Jenna, We have to
go to go.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
We will welcome to that, We'll come on your podcast.
We're doing it. We're doing it.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Oh my god, we're fans, you know, fan. I'm fans,
you guys seriously.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Ryan talked about doing a like a Tailor Swift episode
if there was ever a reboot, like he wished we
did like a Tailor Shift episode. Now, I just want
to know if that were to ever happen.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
What would I want to see? You guys say?

Speaker 1 (42:33):
Yes, yeah, what's your dream?

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Someone on TikTok name dummy Davido. Have you guys seen
an art you guys an incredible like this? Yes? Yes,
I think I would want to see Rachel Berry saying
the Archer m hmmm. I would want to see the
cast saying love story mm hm. I would want to

(42:59):
see mister Shoe and Emma sing lover. Yes, yes, I
want Santana to sing better than Revenge or like digil
Anti shit.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Oh yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Yes, And that's as far I'm trying to I'm trying
to think of more. I think i'd want Amber Riley
to sing Don't blame me, because I'd want to hear
her hit that high note.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
Yes, yeah, and I don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
I can't think of anything else off the top of
my head.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
That's pretty good. That's very good. It's pretty full.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
You like it. I can picture it, can do you're
so Rachel coated? Yes, and it's so me coded because
I'm Rachel.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
It's one of those things where it's like I wish
Glee was around so someone like you could be on it, because.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Right perfect don't even happy because now I'm going to
leave this and be like, well did you hear they
said that? Please? So I would be.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
