Speaker 1 (00:01):
And That's what You Really Missed with Jenna.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
And Kevin An iHeartRadio podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Welcome to and That's what You Really Missed podcast. Season
six fan.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Vote arguably my favorite episodes to do what. I love these.
I love a list. I love voting.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
I thought you meant like season six fan votes.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I was like, wol No, just the fan vote episodes
in general, because yes, agreed, I need to check in.
I need to see what everybody thinks because usually we're
I don't know, we've been a line sometimes and other
times like where did that come from? And we don't
really see these in advance. It has revealed to us
as we're doing this, which is the most exciting part.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Sometimes it's also a good reminder of what we recap
this season.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh yeah, because I mean, we do our own list.
So I'm like, wait, we just watched this, and I
already forgot, like what I was in the Homecoming episode.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
I remember, Okay, y'all voted. The people spoke Kevin.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
They did, and we voted on favorite episodes, favorite songs,
favorite couples, you know, the things we normally do.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Before we get into that, I want to hear your
thoughts on season six as a whole, I have mixed feelings.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I think there were times when I really saw and
understand people's love for this season and the cast and
Ian's vision for this season and what they were doing. Yeah,
And I think times it worked really really well. Other
times I don't think it wasn't my favorite agreed, And
(01:49):
so I think it's a it's a bit of a
mixed bag. What about you?
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, Yeah, I mean I producer Sam was telling us
that actually there's a lot of people who wrote in
which we'll go through some of those comments and questions,
comments concerns later, but had said, like, didn't love season
six as a whole the first time around, but after
rewatching with us this past time and season that, it's
(02:15):
been more enjoyable.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
It wasn't always my favorite season, but there were Looking
back now, there's so many highlights of this past season
that I love, like Jigsu and like.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
As the season went on, I became more attached to
the newvies.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
It was like bittersweet towards the end. It was like
those episodes that we finished with were really strong.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
It did feel like there was like a freedom about it.
So I did enjoy that a lot a lot more
than I thought I would.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
For sure, the freedom was palpable. That was really fun
to experience. And I do like that we were still doing,
Like there were just really special moments with Alex coming
on and seeing with that choir, and it was a
season of big swings. Yes, that's right, and like reformatting
the idea, the season itself was a big swing. You
(03:11):
brought in all these new characters, which I think worked
really really well, and you're also changing the dynamics. You
have Rachel and Kurt and Blaine all being show choir coaches, right,
and so it's a big deal and I think so
much of that was successful.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, Okay, let's get into some of the voting. Well,
let's do episode first favorite episode. These are the voting
results you wrote in you spoke, You told us your thoughts.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Which we love to hear. And let's start number five
on that list, Dreams Come True.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
That's surprising to me.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
That is number five.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah, yeah, Number four is Jagged Little Tapestry.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Not as surprising to me. No, I think that feels
right appropriate. Yeah, number three hurt Locker Part two.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I don't know if this is surprising or not, because
this is exactly what we were talking about when people
went back and watched it again, because part one is diabolical.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
But part two comes back around.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
It really does. Number two two thousand and nine people
love the nostalgia.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Definitely and Number one in a surprising turn of events
a wedding.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Do you think that's surprising?
Speaker 1 (04:46):
I liked the episode.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
I don't know if it's surprising as much as like, Okay,
maybe I don't see it as clearly as y'all do
you know or feels deeply it, But I also think
I have like other emotional parts of that episode light
were couldn't know that, but but you know, overall, I
get it.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
It's such a satisfying episode to watch because I know
we talked about your storyline in that but the more
I think about it, the more I'm like, that's why
the episode is so good, because it's not just about
the two couples getting married, right, it's also how it's
affecting everybody else, and it's really affecting you. And I'm
(05:33):
for some reason that episode more than any other episode.
I can feel myself like looking outside of myself as
if I were just a viewer watching it. M and
how that would be so fun to watch.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Do I feel that as deeply as y'all do. No,
but I get it.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Speaking of well get it, let's go over our lists.
I would like to know what your number five is?
Speaker 1 (06:00):
We built the city, you know why?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
I love the music of this episode. Oh, the music
in this episode is plentiful and I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, very much.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
So.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
There was a lot of good music this season.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
That's what I'm saying. Okay, what's your number five?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Kevin Homecoming?
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Do you doesn't sound like you do?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
No, No, I get it. Everybody was back, we were
all there.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's not a flawless episode, but I thought they did
a really good job of sort of transitioning all these
characters into new roles.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Okay, fair enough, and it was.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Really fun to watch that happened.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Number four Jack a little tapestry nice in lines up?
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, yeah, you and the fans.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Yeah, m.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
My number four is a wedding.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Lower on the list.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I don't think it's a pawless episode. I mostly hate
like the filter over it. I don't like how it looks.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, but.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
There were a lot of good performances. Yeah, so many
incredible guest stars. I mean, it was just a really
fun and satisfying episode.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
It was also a really fun episode to shoot.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
My number three is Jackie little Tapestry.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
You moved it up on the ranks. It's up there,
it's higher up for you. Yeah, okay, what's your number three?
Hurt Locker two.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I feel like I don't even know you anymore.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
There's something about it that just really I.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Think you're right. I think you're right. I think I
missed the mark here because we really enjoyed that.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I really enjoyed it, like you had to make the list.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
I think it's just the fact that it's associated with
part one. Yeah, I get that, and name yeah makes
it difficult for me. But that episode, I remember us
feeling like that a quagessential Glee episode. It felt yes,
it felt right.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah, It's like.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
I don't know, the magical thinking. What was it like
when they did the elevator, like, oh, this elevator goes
to new elevator auditorium.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
You know, all those little one liners make me happy,
really enjoy.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
And again huntos, Yeah, here we are finger on the pulse, Jenna,
I just.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
You know, we get each other number two two thousand.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
And nine, Me too, two thousand and nine, Grand and
the listeners huntos.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Hey, number one, Kevin Non.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Be the same for us, it is Dreams true.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Okay. I like that episode more than I remembered and
thought I would. And I wasn't even a thing obviously.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
It's just bitterer sweet emotionally and it really tied everything together.
But again it was not only the emotional tie to it,
but like a really solid episode. Yeah, my mind, like
because two thousand and nine was such a flashback. I
thought two Dreams was going to be like a full
flash forward.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
In my mind. So did I And I was like,
oh no, it's got it all and it did the
flash forward in just the right way.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
That's I was sort of. I was sort of not
looking forward to it because I didn't like that we
ended present day two episodes before the show ended. Yeah,
it's not the case. We got a little, like you said,
a little bit of everything. And so I think maybe
for us because the concept of doing a flash forward
(09:46):
was so crazy, but that's what we remember because that
was a new thing to us.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yes, definitely.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
So the rest of it just sort of fell away.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah, kind of fell out of place for us.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, I thought that was. I was in Texas when
I had to watch that episode and I told my
mom I had to watch It's like, oh, that was
such a good episode. I love that episode.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Wow, Mom, like.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
She remembers and it is. She was right. It made
me excited to watch it.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Yeah, she was right. Okay, we're moving on to favorite Song.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I feel like that was really we were fairly aligned
on the episode of rankings there with you all who
wrote in and voted in pretty much.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, yeah, someone's pretty solid.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Okay, so favorite song voting results. Keviny wanted do you
want to kick the song?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
This is hard because there were so many good songs,
but okay, number five per favorite song from you listeners
is home interesting, interesting, interesting, Okay.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I think we felt this way when we recapped this
episode two. We knew like when we were talking to
fans and listeners and people who had come on, they
had mentioned like really loving this number, and I remember
being like that's interesting, Like it's it's not all that
memorable to me, Like I know the song and I
love the song, and I like our version of it,
but it just wasn't like, oh, this is the ugly
(11:12):
song to me.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
But that's where I think this is where musicals can
do things that non musicals can't do, where it's not
about the number and per se like the production of
it or anything like that. It was like the emotion
of giving, getting everybody there there yea, and like celebrating
(11:35):
what was going on.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah there was hey bails.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Yeah. I think it was all of that, and it
was it was really pretty to look at. And so
I think we're attached, like the story attaches all those
emotions to the song. Yep. So for us, we're like
we were tired and it was you know, late late
at night. Yeah, and like it's fine, this is a
regular song. But I understand from a viewing perspective why
(11:58):
this probably means more then it does do.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
It was also very good, like the origin, it's a
very good song. Okay, number four, listen to your heart.
I am fascinated by these choices you guys. Obviously we
love a Rachel Jesse number.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
And the scene was quite funny.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
No, very okay, I get it. Sometimes I just need
to be checked a little bit.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Again.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
It wasn't like uber memorable for me where I was like, oh,
this is gonna be on my list, but it's a
very good number.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I also like this version of it. Yes, it's a
different VERSEI I geah.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
So interesting. I guess there's so much music. Okay, number
three this time, Yeah, obviously.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
I get it fully, I mean smashed it. It was emotional.
Darren wrote the out of it.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Yeah, and then and then Beaker. It was Bigerray who
like shot the shut of it. It was all it
was all working. It was all working really really well.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, I think I need to revise my list. You can.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
It's a living document.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
It's a living document. Okay, take me to church.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Obviously Number one I lived. I get it. There were
a lot of honorable mentions. Like we said, there's a
lot of songs, so I'm just going to give a
shout out to some of them because we can't ignore these.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
So suddenly Seymour is on that list. Hand in my pocket,
I feel the earth move. Yeah, definitely, Father Figure obviously,
Mustang Sally. Yeah, I know where I've been.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yeah, yeah, Smash I.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Have an honorable mention as myself.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Because there were so many honorable mentions in this grouping
that I thought I would allow myself.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yeah, I'll never fall in love again Rachel and San Yes, yes,
good and very very good.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Good call. I have an honorable mention. Okay, my mine
is not shocking. My honorable mentions are take Me to
Church and Mustang Sally. I'm just okay. I'm sorry that
they're not in the top five. I was gonna say, Wow,
I'm to be honest, all of these are interchangeable because
I really genuinely loved all of these.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I get it. Number five this time.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Oh funny. You should mention that because it's a living
document and my number five is to a tie between
this Time and Alphie.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Oh, I missed the mark there. I missed the mark
there because I it's not even.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
And it should be. It's just okay, so got it? Yeah,
do you want to tell me what your number four is?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Mine is? Will you let me tomorrow head over Pete.
I haven't stopped thinking about that, and I remember how
I felt watching that this time and they're both singing
their faces off, and Billy's voice really just does something
to me.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yeah, honorable mention that I had that was break Freddy.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Oh yeah, my number four is someday we'll be together.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Yeah, yeah, that feels right. What's your number three?
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Oh, I'm going what's your number three?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Okay? My number three? At last, at last, I put
myself on the list.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah you should.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I don't know if I should. I hated recording it,
but I do love that version of it.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
No, it's such a good version in wait, what.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Episode is that a wedding?
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Right? I was like, I can't imagine you in the hall.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
You can't imagine me singing it anywhere because you don't
remember it.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
No, I do remember it. I definitely remember it because
you were just like they put you on the mantle.
I was like, what is he doing up there?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Yeah? Me and Amber? Also, it's just so unfair to
sing that song with Amber, Like, that's so.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
So great on it you guys, book sound great. I
love the song any already. Mercedes song is actually a gift.
It's like Santana and Mercedes as well.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
It's like a gift. Number three for me is take
me to church.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Yeah oh yeah obviously. Yeah. I mean honestly, that could
be number one, like it's stupid good.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
My number two is I lived interesting, you know, emotions emotions.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
No, no, no, I get it. I get it. I
it's something like I lived, just something like home for me.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
It's a really wonderful song as an emotional component to it,
but like doesn't quite get me.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
I mean in the episode, to be fair, it did
get me. But anyway, it's not on my list. My
number two is I Know where I've been. Oh yeah,
because how do you not? Yeah, what's your number one?
Speaker 2 (17:27):
My number one is I Know where I've been.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
I didn't think it's gonna make your list, and I
was shocked. Okay, yeah, I'm.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Happy number one. It's number one for me, not for
Jenna because she's transphobic. You heard it here.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
First, Wow, wow wow, ye shout it from the rooftops
every mon. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I couldn't couldn't have it at number one to be
number two.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
I just think that was That's probably like most and
it just because it's impactful and meaningful. If you just
listened to the song and Alex's version, it's absolutely incredible
for us. What was happening in that performance. It's just
a sort of an undeniable like hurricane of emotion and
(18:14):
like artistry. It's beautiful it's it was insane. It was
also the experience of watching it be filmed was unlike
any other and that was like affecting the crew. So
it was yeah, it's my number one.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Yeah, that was a gift. I get it.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
What's your number one, father figure? Yeah, I think I
missed the mark. They're not having that on my list.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Because there's just like you said, there's a lot a.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Lot of songs, a lot of really really really good songs.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Like actually, it was this was very hard.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Okay, moving on to favorite couple. So you guys voted
and Tardy is number five.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Well, you know what, the fact that we made the
list at all, with the way that people were talking
about us, is actually a gift.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Oh yeah, I didn't think we were even clearing top one.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Number four is Jane and Mason, and the top comment
is they wish they had more screen time, which I
agree with.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yeah, I would have loved that. Number three is Rachel
and Jesse Saint Berry on the track.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Yeah, I get it. Number two is Sam and Rachel.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Wow, Rachel is just really all over there. And number
one is a two way tie and I think it's deserved. Yeah,
it's Britanna and clean obviously, yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
A wedding just really you know, it culminates into that,
you know, or the this culminates into the wedding.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
So, I mean, there were some really good honorable mentions
as well, my favorite being blam. Oh my the was blamed.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Okay, let's go through our top fives.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Number five for me is Jigsu.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Jigsu and who and Sue I hate you.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
There's something really special about Jigsu that I feel a
deep connection to Jigsu and I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
It is, but I have an honorable mention and it's
Sue and Geraldo.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Rivera ew ew Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
It's a professional relationship. My actual number five, I will say,
is Becky and Darryl Oh good one. Okay, Yeah, they
smashed it.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
They did smash it. You're right. Number four is for
me Jane and Mason and I agree there is not
enough time.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yeah, agreed, that's my number four as well.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
My number three is blam.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Is our top three? The same? Jenna? Is it? I'm
also blam?
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Okay? Is your number two?
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Clay?
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Okay, I think it is the same. And number one
Bridge Han wow in sync.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Oh it's kind of have ain't made.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
In the sink reunion.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Okay, Wow, I'm glad. I'm glad there's a few honorable
mentions for couples.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
There's quite a few. Actually, we've be weremiss to not mention.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Wemma, Yes, Quinn and her, Bob.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Spencer and Alistair of course.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Lady and Lord Tybington mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
And somebody said I didn't watch season six, but tycho
is type, which we know obviously.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
And there was some tyke in this there was. There
was shout out to the Warblers and their girlfriends.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Not a couple, but Curtain Rachel is a pairing.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I agree with that for sure.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Should we go to some of our favorite thoughts here?
You guys wrote in your comments, yes, do it? What
you thought of this episode? Starting up Sewan should have
been a full twenty episode season reminds me of Season
one better than five.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
On the other end, I thing with love you're caught
downhill in a shopping cart on fire, laughing instead of crying.
I know that feeling.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Huh. This season definitely jumped the shark. Yeah a couple times.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
I'm glad that storylines had a conclusion. I wasn't left wondering.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
M it's a lot in caps, like a lot, but
Lea's also a lot of time, so it makes sense
that they went out that way.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Overheted. I actually quite liked this season. It's not the best,
but it's certainly not the worst.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
A seven out of ten and then a ten out
of ten.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
I'm so glad that Tarty was endgame.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Wow, here's another Tarty one that I actually appreciate. There's
something to back it up.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
If they were gonna put teen and already back together,
we needed more build up. There was no foreshadowing to it, no, no,
I know, And there was no like when they get together.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
There was no like, Oh, that's that's gratifying for me,
Like I feel back, you know.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
So I get that. I get that the elevator kiss
is one of the best kisses on TV.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yes, I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
That's really great.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
An improvement on season five. It's still not as good
as the first four. Would have liked more episodes, Yeah,
totally curtain. Blaine's breakup was the worst plotline of the season.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Oh, super underrated and I hate that for the new cast.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
They really held their own, Yes they did.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Season six has some of the most iconic lines and episodes.
I don't know why everyone hates it. At the time
felt off, but years later honestly Top three for me.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
A hot mess mostly, but enough nostalgia to pull through
and wrap up nicely.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Worst one, I'm sorry.

I feel like we get a better idea of like
what you guys were feeling in real time when you
were watching the show, or how you feel.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Now about it and how that's changed and shifted. So
we're so grateful that we get to be like in
on this part of it. Now.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
We were only going to do the season six overview
and just be done with it, but we really felt
like we had to do the series' favorites because there's
so many more categories that we could do, and I
feel like y'all would have yelled at us if we
didn't do them, So we're going to do them.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
So stay tuned for those as well. But thank you
so much.
Speaker 2 (24:42):

about it and see how it compares to our experience.

on this season. You really appreciate it and held your own. Yeah.
