Speaker 1 (00:01):
And that's what you really missed with Jenna.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
And Kevin an iHeartRadio podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Welcome to and That's what you Really miss podcast. Kevin
is now, Oh my goodness, we're breaking the fourth wall.
We are we're doing these Kevin is still doing his
show in London, so we are on opposite sides of
(00:31):
the world, but here we are brought together by season six,
episode ten, or I can follow Sue Sylvester, airing on
March six, twenty fifteen.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Oh, Jenna, it's it's nice to be here with you.
I almost canceled today because I lost my voice. I know,
crazy laryngitis. I did go to an I'm on so
many steroids right now, so you know me on steroids
(01:03):
who he's on top of the world. Jenna has previously
had an intervention with me on a plane over the
Atlantic when I was on steroids during Glee. You, Cory
and I were like, you need to stop taking.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Them down, Calm down, boo woo.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeahoid not for muscles, for sickness, but because I have
laryngitis at the moment and I have to do eight
shows a week still, that is the way. Yeah, but
this is the most back it has been.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
You never would have known told us, But don't strain it.
You just listen to the musical stylings of John Ashchwitz
in this episode, and.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Is what I want to do. Enjoy this ride, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, but you know I can't shut myself up, so
I'm going to be talking up here like Michael Jackson
because I tend to speak in vocal fry, So if
I stay up here, it will be fine.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Vocal fry is like one of the worst things you
could possibly do to your voice, next to whispering.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
So yeah, that and that's how I normally speak, like
when I warm up. It's more for my speaking voice
than for the singing voice. But I went to an
ant and everything's fine. Great, you're clear. You're just a
little ill, that's all. That's what happens when you're in
a show. Anytimes, got the good old flux acting up?
(02:19):
You know all of it.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Pepsid. Pepsid should sponsor. I really should have called you
this week. Actually sorry, I'm digressing. Why to ask you
for tips about what I should do with losing doing all.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
The right things, There's really nothing to do but rest
and like drink applesider, vinegar and hot water.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Oh, I didn't do that. I had tea a lot of.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Not too much applesider though. No, it's a diuretic, but
it's really good for your voice anyway. The other thing
is to rest. So good thing that you're here doing
these recaps with us today.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Priorities. Well, we're here for you.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
We're here for all of you who are still hanging
on here with us. We are at the end of
season six. I cannot believe it. So in the news
we had number one song was Uptown Funk Still, Still, Once,
Always and Forever.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
The number one.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Movie is Chappy, a dystopian sci fi action film, and
it stars dev Pattell, Hugh Jackman, Sagourney Weaver. I did
not see this. I have never heard of it. I'm
not sure that I will ever see it.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Oh, it's a good one. It's a good one, is
it okay? Glee News.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
This week another week of releasing digital downloads. Five tracks
from Rise and fallsho was Vester EP on March third
was released.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
It was uh, what what what did you finish your sentence? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
I just reordered it.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
No, you just like you 've spoke at the end
of the sentence, And I was like, does hear something
else to say, because.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I was not listening.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Let me spoiler alert, I wasn't listening to what you
were saying because I was listening ahead. Directed by Anthony Hemingway.
Who was Anthony Hemingway. Well, neither of us worked with him. So,
oh yeah, you were in that. You were in a
scene in the episode.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
You were so, I don't recollect.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Okay, Sadly we did not get to work with Anthony Hemingway. Oh,
he's done CSI, he's done shameless, He's done.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
A bunch okay, a veteran. This was written by the
one and only just Smeyer, our friend, dear.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
We have Carol Burnett back as well as Heroldo Rivera
and Michael Bolton and Carnie Willson.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Jesus, it's so weird. Yeah, well we'll talk about it.
Let's talk about some songs.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, let's talk about it. So rather be by Clean
Bandit was performed by the New Directions. The trolley song
was meet Me in Saint Louis by Doris and cecilvest
Far from Over performed by Vocal Adrenaline.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
The final Countdown Me by Sue and.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Will and Rise written by Glee's a very own Darren
Chris and it's performed by the new directions. All right,
let's talk about some fun faction and we'll just like
chat about this episode since we're not really in it. Yeah,
what was it like coming in for one scene for
one episode? I don't know what that's like. I'd never
done that before. It must have been nice.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
It was nice, and it was also just like it
was a weird thing with Heraldo. Wasn't super stoked to
have Heraldo there? Yeah, yeah, you know, I'm glad we
make fun of Fox News in this episode, but like, yes, yes,
(05:51):
we're naming it.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I was more like, let me clock in clock out
because yeah, I'm not really I don't want to trying
not to condone what's going going on here, but it's
out of my control.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Well, it's like when we were on tour when we
had people like Bill O'Reilly coming to the show.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Bill O'Reilly showed up so many times to things, We're like.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
What are you doing here? You are the wrong audience.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Like you are everything stand against but here you are
because your kid likes it, but yet you're not learning
anything from it, Like get out of here, all right,
we're getting too far in We're not, but for this show,
we're getting too for it. Okay, this is the second time,
go on, I know you could. This is the second
(06:34):
time that Sue has sung two duets in an episode.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
The other being Opening Night.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
This episode marks a return of the following characters. Doris
Sylvester since her first appearance and firt in season two
and eighty seven episode gap, Joe Hart since his last
appearance and all or Nothing when he just disappears in
season four twenty nine episodes ago, Andrea Carmichael and Rod
Remington since their last appearance, isn't Opening Night season five
(07:00):
twelve episode gap, and this marks Andrew's last appearance on
the show.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Oh whoop.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
He was set to reprise your role as Carbon Thibodeaux,
but her scene was likely.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Cuts in Latin America. You can hear Carmen's voice on
Rachel's phone in the dubbed version.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Oh interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
It's the second longest title with twenty characters.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
That is a fun fact.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
The longest one is untitled Rachel Barry Project, only one
character more than the name of this episode.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
This is the important news. This is what I'm here for.
This marks the seventh and last time a character's name
is used in the title.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
And this is the second time Sue's name is used
in the title. In both occurrences, her last name is included.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I feel like this title also could have been used
like the Rise and Fall of Glee, This episode is
a good yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Sue posing for Penthouse was first mentioned in a voiceover
by Will in the extended version of the pilot, and
later proven to be true by Finn and Naked.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
That's right and the episode is a play on the
nineteen seventy two David Bowie album The Rise and Fallows
He start Us and the Spiders from Mars, and Sue
dressed up as Bowie in his Starredus alter ego.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
In the season two episode Rumors.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
It is mentioned that Sue has never coached a show
car before Vocal Adrenaline, however, and season one's throw Down,
and in season three she was a temporary co coach
for the New Directions. During season two, she temporarily coached
Oral Intensity. So wrong, Wrong, Wrong, Jenna, do you want
to give us the episode summary? I do want to
(08:47):
give you the episode summary. So Dalton Academy burns to
the ground and the Warblers must combine with the new
directions to form a super group. Meanwhile, Rachel begs Carmen
Tibodow to let her return to YadA. Okay, the whole
time that was going to come out that Sue burned.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I know, I know, I mean she's not she's evil,
but she's not that evil. I mean that is that is.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Dr fair enough, fair enough, fair enough, okay.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
In a school parking lot. This is the rise and
fall of Ce Sylvester.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, and Dalton obviously, as we mentioned, is burned down
to the ground and a fire, and the Warblers are
welcomed in by Kurt obviously brought back in poor poor
Blaine and everybody. Obviously, this is a big This is
(09:41):
turmoil for a new direction because it also affects their
you know, their future competitors. So they're going to merge
approved by the superintendent. So Sue is upset that the
Warblers are here because Will has gone over her head
(10:01):
to the superintendent. We have to talk about this scene
with Superintendent Bob Harris. Christopher Cousins, who's very good and
Will and Sue and they when he finds her hurt locker.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Oh god, I.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Was screaming when he goes into the hurt Locker and
he sees.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
My nephew with the woody doll. No, my nephew. It's
really funny. It's really really funny. Overall.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I'm sorry, I'm going all over the place, but the
show must go all over the place. I feel like
that's what we should have called this podcast. Well, welcome
to it if you haven't figured that out yet. This
this episode definitely felt like, look Sue needed.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Another episode.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
We love Jane, we love I get it, I get it,
I get it.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
What are you trying to say, Jenna? It wasn't my favorite, No,
absolutely not. It's like, just get to the end. We're
at the end, you know what I mean. We're at
the end of the show.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
We're not going to be opening up a can of
worms of new storylines, new characters, well kind of. But
I will say Jane did a wonderful job with this.
She's a great job. She's very funny moments.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yes, I think in like a lot of the season,
like with the hurt Locker Part one and part two,
it's like, let's give Jane more.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah, And it definitely felt like that.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
The tone of of you know, the hurt Locker, like
you definitely felt like those moments where Ian was like,
let's just go for it. There's nothing left, we have
nothing left. So here we're going to give it all.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Sue gets called in for the Scotcha interview with Herala
Rivera on Fox News and then has a slew like
you mentioned before of celebrities finally fact checking all of
the erroneous claim she has made over the six seasons.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Michael Bolton like, none of it is true. No, we
have Yeah, we've debunked.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
All those nips and so like, that's fun that she's
being called out and then she calls out the Favors Station. Yeah,
I will. I would like to point out I think
everyone was reading off of Q cards. What what do
you mean in these scenes when Shoes being interviewed, when
(13:03):
all these people are being interviewed, people are reading, what
do you mean they're reading something like like, this is
not memorized. Heraldo is reading over Jane's shoulder. Jane is
reading over Heraldo's shoulder, Matt was reading. Their eyes are
moving like they're reading a teleprompter. I was like, oh,
(13:25):
this is distracting. This none of this is memorized. I
get it because it's it's a big bit and it's
a lot of dialogue to learn, so they probably like, yeah,
just read it like it's fine because it's you're you're
talking to off camera, so like I understand. But it
was distracting because that never happens on the show and.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
So wow, I mean only on two sees it probably Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
But that's but that's fine because that's set up, like
you're reading into a camcast, right, and it's set up
so you don't see eyes moving. Oh gosh, I didn't
even notice that. Oh it was I was like, what
is happening? Wow?
Speaker 3 (14:03):
I mean I love that they they finally come out
and all of Sue's like rumors and lies and it's
are all kind.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Of it's some of these things up before the end.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, yeah, let's love it, like let's just do it.
Let's just talk about it, you know, and then of course,
like get Carol Burnett back in here and like their
like wrapped arm in arm is funny.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
That was pretty brutal her interview saying she never loved her. Yeah,
that was crazy. I did enjoy Sue punching her alda rivera.
That was very amazing.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I will say also like the the the uh what
was it before the punching that we were talking about, Oh,
the Carol Burnett up the mom stuff like it does
lend for like a deeper moment for Sue, like wondering
why she is the why she is, you know what
I mean, or like it's the explanation for why she
(15:02):
is the way she is.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
She her parents completely traumatized her, terrible. Yeah, so it
was nice to get to get that. But yes, yes,
and how getting Michael Bolton and all these people to
show up to say these things is crazy. It is
really crazy, really really crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
The the Heraldo punch was my favorite part of that.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Mm hmm. And uh, Susan.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Respect him for showing up and like doing it and
being committed to it and delivering that last with blood
on his face.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Good pras.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
So, if you can sleep at night being a Fox
News host, then you're probably up for anything.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
I'm going to stop you right there. I water parted myself.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, it was fun to have like
Andrea back and Rod back, and and of course like
even teleprompter or not the mister Shoe clip running after
the interview where he's like you know, he's going out
on a limb for her and really and nobody sees
it and so sweet. Yeah, so like the whole gag
(16:18):
was great.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
DoD is literally the best.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
That ends up with, like that nice thing with Carol Burnett.
And then yeah, the trolley somehow becomes the coach of
vocal adrenaline. Yeah, and it makes sense that those are
her people. It seems like a good fit vocal adrenaline.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Yeah, has she's done vocal adrenaline at some point.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
She needs to be with them.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, she was gonna put them to the
barfinat or whatever it's called, the Barfa bar.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Meter Barfa eight thousand bar for in these episodes, in
these final episodes.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Okay, wait, so we've talked about Sue's kind of uncovering,
we also have to go back to the hurt Locker
for a second when they find out that she's in
Penhouse and she's literally on the cover and we learn
I mean, but we've learned in the in the fun
(17:25):
facts that she wants like Finn put the envelope about
and like blackmailed her over that as well, And I
just there's something about the hurt Locker to me, and
now I get what people were talking about it being
some of like the favorites, maybe a hot take, maybe not,
(17:47):
But like to continue bringing back the hurt Locker really
like tickles me to my soul.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
That I like because I feel like we don't do
a lot of recall.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Right, so contuity, let's let's let's call back to it.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yeah, yeah, well, I guess we do quite a bit
of recall. We don't do a lot of like story
follow through, right, Like each episode is sort of its
own thing. That I don't mean that's in a bad way.
I mean it's a structural thing, like that's how the show.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Is set up.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
I mean I would say, like Devil's Advocate, we do
complain about like how the baby doesn't go away, and
like there it is like a fifteen episodes.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
The thing they stick to is the baby and then
the hurt Locker. But I guess the tracks it does trap.
Let's talk about the new directions for a second.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
So the New Directions and the Warblers are off to
like a rough start in trying to get the groups together.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Of course, you thought all those hot hits can be
in the same room. They're arguing about their outfits, they're
arguing over who's singing what.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
They're at the top of their games. They're going to
do things the way they want to do, and they
can't agree on these ms, you.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Know, like their arch nemesis nemesi of one another, and
so they're having to actually work together, which I get
is probably a nightmare.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yeah, I would be like, oh my gosh, who are
these people? But they also so the the big thing.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Is the costumes, Like they can't agree on the blazers,
and they're still very much like a split group. Obviously,
this is a new format that they're trying to do
because of this, you know, tragic circumstance.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
In the next episode, it's featured a bit more the
issues here. But I do feel like this highlights New
Direction shortcomings as good movers, you know, yes, because when
they're divided like this, you I mean, they're all basically
professional dancers on the Warblers Historically famously New Directions are not.
(20:00):
So that needs to be sorted.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Why did they do Final Countdown? What was the lead
into Final Countdown? Girl? I don't even think it.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Was it because of like the final, Like if they
don't win, like we it's revealed that in Sectionals if
they don't it's revealed to the new directions that if
they don't win Sectionals, not only will the Glee Club
be cut, but as will the arts be cut in
(20:35):
Emma Kinley.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Right, And I think all that's leading to, like this
is it like we have to do.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
You can't get away with the final episodic Glee to
the final episode of Glee without doing the final countdown.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Well, it's also like this evil villain too thing right.
My favorite part of the episode is her on the
organ and like she's playing the opening bars to this.
It's very I do. I will say the final countdown
really pulled it all together for me. This episode.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
It's music.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I like, it really really works in ways that it
probably shouldn't. But that's the whole history of this show.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
My gosh, it was so weird. It was weird. But
I think it is really very weird.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
I think this is a me problem, probably because I
think we also have to remember this show is coming
to an end, and the writers want to feature the
talented people they have on the show, and like, let's
give Will and Sue some things to do together, get
(21:52):
to perform together.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Again.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yeah, yeah, which hasn't happened in a long time. So
like it it's I think that's also just part of box.
You have to take that into consideration because it is
fun to just watch them do their thing.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Literally, So if Sue gets fired and then she shows
up at the organ and we get that iconic final
countdown number, a lot of Jay Lynch numbers this episode.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
We love Rachel. On the other hand, is in the
beginning of.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
This episode, they're like, where's Rachel, and mister shehes like,
don't worry, she's on board with merging these groups, but
she's in New York taking care of some business. She
just wasn't going to be in the episode because just smart.
It's like when Tina got the bird Flow. So she's
meeting with carbon Thibodeaux, which I was like, oh, what
(22:45):
a smart way to incorporate Carmon Thibodeau but not have
to hire Whoopee again.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
And apparently she was supposed.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
To be in this episode. So I don't know what happened,
but you didn't like, of course we want more WHOOPI
always more or Whoopee, but like you didn't need it.
I was like, okay, like we revealed, like she goes
in for the meeting, it's you know, tale as old
as time, and then she's gonna get Rachel's gonna spoiler
the get a call at the end of the episode
(23:14):
that she is back in Nyada if she wants to
be like the story has been told, I thought it
was like I was like, Okay, I believe this.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
I find this whole storyline perplexing. Really, I find it
really confusing because I get that she wants to like
right some wrongs and like have a second chance. But
she finds she gets accepted Niyada again, she gets the
(23:44):
call that she got hired, she booked a musical, and
she's debating this thing again, and I'm just like, it
feels like eight steps back in a way. It feels
it doesn't feel like Rachel to me.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Hmmm, I I disagree.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
I feel like it's the only thing that is moving
this storyline plot forward in this episode the next episode,
like I feel like.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
It is it's it does.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
It happens like and Rachel made some really big mistakes, right,
and like you have to make mistakes to learn right,
so that it's all fine, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
She she leaves New York.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
I think, I mean, I think that this is a
real thing where, especially in musical theater, a lot of
people say, you don't need the degree to work in
this business, which is true, but there is something valuable about,
(24:58):
you know, getting that those years of training and really
buckling down on the craft. And I think there's part
of it that's also this like this feeling of like
righting the wrong right. So like I think for her
it's an emotional piece too, of like going in and.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Certain pressing reset. Yeah, going back to like basics in
a way where.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
I think it's very I found myself like very interested
in this storyline because I feel like I was this
resonated for where I was in college, like I was
trying to work professionally and school wanting me to like
really just be where I was in school, just.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Commit to school. Yeah, And there's truth to both sides.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Like I think I found myself asking the question, like
if we said to Rachel, Okay, so if you go
to school, like you've already Broadway, you know you can
do it, why not just go back and like not
go to school and like continue to audition. You'll probably
book a job again. You could on the on the
other side of that, the devil's advocate side, it's like
you could, you could go to school because like it's
(26:13):
gonna happen again for you, But then the question is
will it.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Happen again for you?
Speaker 3 (26:17):
So like there's all these It's a very nuanced thing
that I do think people do deal with, and I
maybe not at the level of which richel Berry was
like starring on Broadway and now going back.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
To school, that's what I mean.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
But I do think that there's like she did burn
some bridges along the way, probably by leaving Funny Girls
so soon going to do a pilot that failed, Like
there maybe is like a little bit of like a.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Like eating your humble pie a little.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Bit, yeah yeah, and like kind of going and flying
under the radar for a little bit, you know what
I mean. I could be wrong, but I don't think
that it was completely out of nowhere, and I don't
think that this people haven't actually.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Dealt with this conflict before I get it. I'm I
think I'm convinced.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Okay, she's been through a lot, right, right, right, and
so I feel like even considering to go to school
is a way to like sort of slow down. Yeah,
like school, school is very She made a lot of
rash decisions, yes, right, gone through a lot of extremes
(27:31):
in the past year. Yes, and so to be able
to like school is the same, same schedule, same people,
Like you know what you're getting. You don't have to
make big decisions. You just have to show up and
do what you're told to do, right, And so I
feel like in a way that's settling experience. Obviously, you
have to work hard, keep your head down and like
(27:52):
do what you're there to do. But I think maybe
the routine of it and everybody's there with the same
goal is maybe a nice settling time for her.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
I do understand also why this storyline goes on for
two episodes, because she just doesn't know. Like Sam has
a pretty convincing argument with her.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Does he does.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
I'm totally for it, and I appreciate him really going,
you know, the lengest of yeah, being really really honest
with her about it, because I think the easy road
would be, you know, take this job, and you know,
why do you go to school? You go so that
(28:31):
you could work in the professional fields, you know what
I mean. So they're like, you're already there you jump
ten steps, but I do appreciate like the friends who
really show up for you, and yeah, trying to convince
her to go to YadA.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
But she, I mean, she shows back up McKinley though,
and she's with those new directions and she's talking to
her people and trying to make the right decision and
also get the new directions heads put on straight so
they can go out there and win. And so it's
there's a lot going on, that's right. I would be
(29:10):
remiss if I didn't mention this Becky Jackson, Becky Jackson
showing up to defend the Warblers and Gay Blaine throws
Sue completely under the bus, just completely has this beautiful
(29:31):
montage of.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Her and her man coming.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Back voiceover interview like it is. It is such a
highlight for me. I'm obsessed with Becky Jackson and she
just keeps getting better.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Oh always does always need more of Becky Jackson.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
And like, I just love that she fully rats out
Sue to heraldover and also when her rings up, like
Sue rings up. You know, I had some like good
people too, like Quinn and Brittany and Santana, and he
said they declined the interviews, which I also enjoyed.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
Yeah, yeah, Becky talking like who is Becky Jackson? America
is dying to know?
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, America is dying to know.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Uh yeah, it's kudos to Lauren Potter, just like so
good to see her again.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Genius, genius. Okay, let's let's rate some performances this.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Talk about because you didn't really get into Yeah, so.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Let's so clean mandit would do rather be. That is
one of the fastest jumps to music, maybe other than
the Michael Jackson episode that we fly into a musical
number in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
I don't hate it. I love clean bandit love this song.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Yeah, I like the performance a lot and shout out
to Billy's backflip and like the choreography he's doing.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Throwing them in there through like Benson Boone before Benson Boone.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
He flipped, so Benson Boone could also flip, could fly.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Yeah. I like this.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
I would give it. I'll give it an A.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, I give it an A. I like it. I
also love that Will's like Will's completely back in as
the teacher, the leading the charge versus like being a
volunteer and also being like, hey, guess what show me
what you've been working on versus like, let's work on something,
just perform for me.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Also, it's always like two seconds of choreo. Nobody's sweating, Like,
let's take five.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Exactly.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Uh the trolley song, honestly put them on tour A
plus you get two women, give me that, give me
that variety show.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah, yeah, those two No wrong A.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Plus far from over, far from over.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
I mean we're reading just the performance, not the guard
judgment on it.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Gat I mean A plus. Yeah, it's insane, A.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Plus, absolutely insane. I also love all that like old
Jim equipment. The final count A plus A plus.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Yeah, stars, all of them rise, which is also where
the outfit issue, the dispute, if you will, is settled
there Now they're all wearing red blazers.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
For new directions, which is like, yes, okay, I actually
think they're very cute. They look very cute in those
red blazers, but compromise Kitty's handing out the blazers. Darren
wrote this song. It's it's quintessential Glee, upbeat, feel good
end of episode. Let's bring us all together on the
(33:14):
road to sectionals and kudos to Darren.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
I give it an A I think it is so.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Sweet, and let's bring everybody together. We have a huge
Glee club this episode.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
You know, I don't have that much time left.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
You all need to get together.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
You need really good final songs for these last few
episodes of Glee. You know, Kurt, we had to fight
for everything we've ever earned in our lives, and this
is the beginning of a new fight. Okay, those are
solid average a average.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Yeah, that was pretty strong. Okay, let's do some tidy
takes cringe moments.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
I thought Sue not being able to understand Becky he
was weird. That was strange.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that line.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
When Becky gets really excited, she starts screaming. So I
understand that, but it was like weird for Suit. I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Yeah, yeah, I don't think it was meant the way
it was.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
It came off to be honest, but it came I
had to think about it, so I was like, oh,
maybe that's not.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
That's not it, you know.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Yeah, it created pause.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah, definitely. And also the hert locker always is a
little bit cringey.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
It's always wrong, but also a little great.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. And Myron, my nephew, the best
dance move. I think Billy's backflip. Also, Charlie sung for
the key Courier.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Yeah. Best song final countdown rather be whoa that is?
I didn't think that was coming. Okay. Best performance by
a prope the Myron's Voodoo Doll Sue's organ. Are you
(35:13):
kidding me? Oh? Yeah, that's good too, Okay.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Best line cord Yeah, I mean, anyone named Madam Thibodeau
doesn't really sound like a woman who changes her mind
or stays in human form for too long. I always
thought Niata was a school for wishes.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
That was one of the best ones. Performance MVP Jane
Jane Jane always Jane ship we found on TikTok Jenna.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
I don't know if you've watched the new show Adults.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
No, not yet on Hulu.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
It's not an ad it's just it's what it is.
So Brooke on TikTok posted the scene from Adults and
there's a Glee mentioned, and it's pretty great and there is. Yes,
one of the characters says the R word, and the
(36:14):
character you're speaking to is like, we don't use that
word anymore at all. The cast of Glee did that
to the power of Song.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
It's great.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
It's a great little absolutely true. Yes, that makes me happy,
loving that show. Yeah, and it's a great scene as well.
The whole scene is really great.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Yeah. So that is the ship we found on TikTok
this week.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Thanks for stumbling through that episode with us, you guys.
That was crazy, is a bit unhinged, definitely not my favorite,
definitely not my least favorite. Somewhere in the middle, I
just wishing.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
You know, there's only three left after this.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that, get you know it's
close to the end. Okay, Well, come back next episode
for we built the Squeak Cub.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
