(00:27):
I want all of you to get up out of
your chest. Let's go to the window, open it and
stick your head out of here. Welcome into at the

(00:54):
Window on the Sports Grid TV network. I am Shunka
Samakia Oh to be joined by Joe Roneri here in
just a couple of minutes. And we've been talking about
the coronavirus impact around the sports landscape in our number one.
Lucky to have Dennis Dodg jonas an our number one,
and we'll look forward to Richard Justice from MLB dot
Com here in our number to get the baseball side

(01:17):
of things. And usually Joe, we we talk about the
win totals, go division by division. Can't do that now
because we don't know how many games Major League Baseball
will play, so kind of doesn't seem like a smart
thing to do. But we could also take a look
at the MLB World Series futures and how it affects
certain teams. Right now, the Dodgers are the favorite on

(01:38):
the FanDuel sports book website plus three eighty New York
Yankees second at plus three ninety. And I bring up
the Yankees because this helps the Yankees a lot, the delay,
the pause in the season with you don't know what's
going on with Gencarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge another one, and
then they're both working out and progressing nicely, but they
were not going to be ready for opening Day on March. Also,

(02:02):
James Paxton expected to miss some time. You expected to
be back in May early June. Well, if they don't
have games until May or June, that should help the
Yankees as far as their prospects with futures are concerned.
And Joe, so baseball, I mean, how do you handicap baseball?
What's changed for you, if anything now with this delay

(02:22):
in the season as far as handicapped in the future
market in baseball. I don't wait and see, but you're right,
it's a situation now where listen, our team is going
to be am I gonna feel any differently about a team. Uh,
if it takes you know, if it goes to what
thirty days sixty day delay, answer is probably no. I

(02:44):
still think the Giants are not gonna win sixty eight games.
I still think that the Chicago White Sox will be
better than than the games. None of that changes. The
reality is those numbers are gonna get adjusted if Major
League Baseball decides that, you know what, it's only gonna
be a hunter and forty games. Guys, it's all gonna
be a hundred forty five games. So there is some
things to be determined from the futures market as far

(03:07):
as the World Series. Listen, the Dodgers and the Yankees
should be the favorite. They remained to be the favorite
hundred and sixty two games season. Prior to you know,
three or four days ago, we were looking at the
Yankees going, everybody's hurt. Here we go again. Well, now,
all of a sudden, if it's let's say thirty sixty days, now,
all of a sudden, Pax stands back and all of

(03:28):
those all of those injuries that might have ailed them
the first couple of months of the season is no
longer an issue. Not just them, but obviously Burlander with
Houston comes to mind. There's a lot of guys that
are benefit from a absolutely a lot of dudes. So
and you know what good because I do think most
people when they were looking at this season coming up,

(03:50):
you're always looking at it with every healthy and with
one health across the board, or at least as close
to hunder percentage you can have. The favorites are still
the favorites. Nothing is going to change there. The Dodgers,
the Yankees, the Astros, I think from what we've seen
here early on, really embracing that that villain roll there.

(04:10):
I have no doubt in my mind that they are
going to win games this year. They're gonna be a
giant thorn and a lot of people's ass. And if
you can get ver Lander back healthy, which I'm sure
they will, it's up. Yeah, they're um, you know, they're okay,
they are going to be They're gonna be just fine.

(04:38):
I loves you, alright, Sorry about that. All right, we'll
get shown back there in just a second. But major
League Baseball is, without a doubt, guys, is is going
to be an interesting test case here coming up over
the next couple of weeks. What happens when it comes
to the coronavirus, when do they come back? Uh? And

(05:02):
who benefits the most in Major League Baseball by this
by this delay or at least uh postponement early on.
Now they did say two weeks, and I give them
credit for that, uh, trying to be as optimistic as possible,
thinking that they were gonna be able to start this
maybe the first or second week of April. I don't
think that's realistic. I I think the earliest we're looking

(05:23):
at his May uh and you know, come May. Now
all of a sudden, teams like the Yankees for instance,
now all of a sudden Paxton and his surgery, he's
a little bit closer or getting ready to to go.
And and I do think also they're not gonna just
dive into the season. They will probably extend or at
least come back, have a couple of exhibition games early

(05:45):
on to try to get back in the flow of things.
Major League Baseball, don't forget told the players yesterday they
gave the announcement that go home. You know you don't
you know, you can go home, you don't have to
remain at spring training amps and uh, you can go
ahead and go be with your families and we'll let
you know. Now, the Yankees, interestingly enough, decided that, okay, guys,

(06:11):
we're not going anywhere. We're staying here together in Tampa. Now.
The truth is, so you guys understand, in spring training,
these guys all rent houses, um in Florida, depending on
which you know, Arizona, wherever the spring training facilities are,
they all rent houses. They all own maybe second homes.
Obviously some of the more established players, uh, you know,

(06:32):
the Cardinals, the Marlins, the Astros, the Nationals. Uh, they
are all within three miles of each other as far
as the stadiums go. Here in South Florida. All of
those guys have houses. All of them live here. The
younger guys, maybe some of the rookies, Uh, they either
house with other people or they've already brought their families here.
So Major League Baseball saying, go back home to wherever

(06:54):
that may be for a lot of them, and I
can certainly think for the Yankees a lot of them.
They're second home is Tampa. Anyway, they have homes and
they've got situations for that. So the Yankees going, you
know what, we're gonna stay in Tampa Bay, I think
tells you a lot about their comfort level, about how
serious they are about Listen, we're gonna hit the ground running, Sean,

(07:18):
as soon as they give us the okay, because baseball
did say you guys can go home. We'll, we'll, we'll,
we'll keep you posted. I think the Yankees also on
a level, realized that when you send forty some odd
guys to go off on their own and one of
them comes down with the coronavirus, it's a little easier
to control as a team if everybody's in the same

(07:40):
location every day working out, and you can limit the compact.
All of a sudden, guys go home. They got to
go this, they got the kids, and all of a sudden,
oh man, Aaron Judge or somebody's got the gout. You know,
is contract that changes everything. So I applaud the Yankees
for realizing what's going on. And again, like I was saying, Sean,
these guys all either own houses in their spring training camps,

(08:04):
renting houses, no problem. The team usually takes care of
the They're gonna be fine. It's not like they're it's
thrown out of a loop. They're gonna be Okay, but
I do think it's easier to control if they all
remain together. Yeah, and Scott Boris, the super agent, mentioned
that it's better for these players to be in an

(08:24):
isolated environment like a spring training facility altogether, rather than
you know, go home to their respective families and risk
getting um the virus and what have you. But yeah,
kudos to the Yankees. Zack Britain reported that that every
player voted to stay there at the spring training facility
in Tampa, And you're right. They have homes there because
they play the Rays UM nine games out of the year.

(08:46):
They have three road trips there too, so not only
spring training facility, but they all also during the regular season.
They're always there. So Yankees, I know, I definitely have
homes there in the second homes in Tampa. But Joe,
I do think it benefits teams like the with they're
starting pitchers like the Um justin Verland or the Clayton Kershaws.
You don't have to pitch two hundred inns now in

(09:06):
a season. If if if it's a condensed season, if we're
talking hundred and thirty games, right, you can pitch these
guys and not after misstarts. And rest them. So that
would favor uh as far as wind totals. When the
new wind totals come out, I'm gonna look at that.
I mean, Jacob de Grama even a picture that's not
that old. You can pitch him every fourth day? Why not?
I mean, he's not gonna get up to two hundred
innings if you pitch him every fourth day. Does that

(09:27):
benefit the the the as far as does the new season,
the condensed season, the truncated season. Does it benefit the
teams with great starting pitchers who could run them out
there now and not worry about an inning's limit. I
don't know how much I'm gonna run him out there anyway.
They seem to have, you know, kid gloves with all
of these guys. As it is, it does make it
a very interesting you know, come come September, come October,

(09:51):
where we might see guys bring it down a little bit.
You're right, Uh, we might not see it. There'll be
a lot fresher and they'll have a lot less wear
and tear on the body. So yeah, I mean, from
that perspective, absolutely, maybe the velocity is just as much,
if not more than what it normally would be. And
it's it's going to be interesting. I think it all

(10:12):
depends on when they get back to work. But teams
like the Yankees and others who decide to stay in shape,
stay isolated, they're they're gonna hit the ground running. I
don't think they're gonna come back and just start the season.
I think when they give the okay no, we'll have
a couple of days of some teams being able to
maybe a week worth of you know, one more week
of spring training, get some games in, and then boom,

(10:33):
guys will fly to their home cities and get ready
to start the season. And we've seen this before, so
for the people that are don't know. But in the
NFL there was a player strike, there was only a
nine game regular season, so seven games were chopped off
the schedule. Redskins wind up winning the Super Bowl over
the Miami Dolphins, but they only played in nine game

(10:55):
regular season, so this has been done before. A placekicker
for the Redskins won the m v P. Can you
imagine plays kicker winning an m VP? Mark Mosley and
they had sixteen teams. Sixteen teams made the playoffs that season,
with two teams under five hundred because it was only
nine games. We want it to be fair. So we'll
probably see something like that in maybe baseball. Uh, if

(11:18):
we get to that point, if they miss a number
of games, will have like a hundred and twenty game
or maybe a hundred and fifteen game season and be
interesting to see how that plays out. But stay tuned
on that. We'll talk to Richard Justice about what the
Major League Baseball plans are, contingency plans, and if they
don't get the baseball season started by May one, they'll
have to chop off some games. I don't want to

(11:39):
play in December. They're not gonna have Christmas baseball, joll right,
I don't. I don't think we'll have that. It's too cold.
But it'll be interesting to see what they come up,
but it'll be it'll be fascinating. We're gonna have NBA
Finals in August. How cool is that when nothing's going on? Really?
I mean, ye, baseball a dog days, But yeah, we'll
have the finals. Would be cool. Lakers against the Bucks.
Maybe not. I don't know why side with the Lakers

(12:00):
and Bucks. How good they are, Joe. But we got
a lot more to talk about NFL free agency, Joe,
I gotta get your opinion on Tom Brady. What's going
on with the Redskins number two overall pick? Are they
taking Jase Young? Will they take a quarterback that just
drafted Dayene Haskins last year? Fifty overall? We'll talk about
the latest news and Daily rodo dot Com learned from
the game's best DFS players. We don't just give you

(12:22):
premier advice. We play every day, all major sports, all
year round. We never stopped industry leading DFS tools and
custom projections, and now the Daily rodo dot Com optimized
in minutes, building optimized line up for cast games and turneys.
Learned from the game's best DFS players joined Daily rodo

(12:44):
dot Com. Welcome back to at the Window, Snake Angle

(13:10):
and Chris Kovsky, Patrick Cassidy, I believe is on video.
They're in the pitch Studio thirty four Midtown Man, and
I'm Sean Guasimaki here at the FANDE Sports scrit at
the Meadowlands, Joe Rohnery in South Florida, Joe NFL Free Agency.
I know how you feel about Tom Brady and where
he's going to end up or not end up. He

(13:30):
might go back to the Patriots. That's what we both think.
He'll end up with the Patriots once again, and that's
the betting favorite on Fandel Sports Book. As far as
where tom Brady will play week one of the season,
there was a report Joe and I know you're all
over this, you're all over it, uh in Tampa coming
out of Tampa that the Bucks will they're all in
on tom Brady, will do whatever it takes to bring

(13:51):
tom Brady down there to Tampa, Florida, UM to play
for the Buccaneers. Bruce Arians, Mike Evans uh and that
system down there. And because of that report, now the
Bucks are the second favorite behind the New England Patriots
to end up with tom Brady's services. You also have
the l A Chargers who are the figure to make

(14:13):
a run with Tyrod Taylor being their quarterback right now
with Philip Rivers movie on Joe once again, tom Brady,
where will he end up? Does do you get to
the point where maybe Tampa has a shot to lend
tom Brady? Um? No, Yeah, it's not gonna happen. His
wife's gonna want to go to Tampa. His wife's not

(14:35):
gonna want to go to Nashville. His wife is Yeah. No,
I mean Tom Brady, listen, Tom Brady, the football player
is there's not a lot left in the tank. We
all know this. He knows father time is is on
his ass. So he's gonna go to a number one,
a place that he feels he can win. Uh, not
where necessarily he is gonna it's also got to be
a place where he can continue to transition into after football, lie,

(15:00):
which you know, he's got a production company, he's got
a lot of other things going on him and his
wife than just you know, going to a place like
Nashville where they're gonna have to move again. It's not
what he wants to do. So I think there's a
handful of places, maybe southern California obviously, you know, going
to San Diego, I think is the only other option

(15:21):
that makes the most sense for him and for his
wife and his family. But l A, I mean, the
the truth is it's going back to New England that
in all likelihood is gonna be where he's at. He's
going to puff his chest, he's gonna use everybody else's
leverage and uh and that's uh, that's the reality. Again,

(15:42):
forty some odd years old, guys, tom Brady is a
creature of habit. He doesn't want to have to go
in learn new systems, new everything. It's not that simple.
It's just not so. I do think that provided New
England does certain things on the roster, and I think
that's gonna be a prerequisite of him is besides the money.
I think if he feels comfortable, he's gonna end up

(16:04):
going to the place he thinks he can win the easiest.
And I do think that still remains No England at
this point. Percent agree. I didn't think he would leave
New England to go to the Titans and then buy that,
especially after he faced time Mike Frabel at the Syracuse
Orange basketball game. He would be more corey about that,
Mike Frabel if he was going to sign Um tom

(16:26):
Brady to play quarterback. And looks like they will resign
Ryan Tannehill, which I think is a smart move for
the Tennessee Titans. That's um the reports coming out now.
The momentum is going towards that. But it all gets
under way this Monday when they're legal tampering begins and
then by Wednesday, UH free agents are allowed to sign
with new teams. So Joe let's move on to the
NFL draft. That's more interesting to me. The number two

(16:49):
overall pick, Joe Barrows going to the Bengals. I think
we could all agree on that, and that's the heavy
favorite on Vanduel Sports book. The number two picks interesting
because Chase Young, we would all agree, is slotted to
go there to the Washington Redskins, and they are the
favorite to draft him. But now you have work coming
out that two of the Redskins are going to meet
with TWA and they're not sold on dayne Haskins. It's

(17:10):
a new new group there in New England. Ron Rivers, sorry,
in Washington, Ron Rivers the new head coach, they have
new leadership there. Um, Bruce Allen is gone, he's out.
How likely do you buy in because you can never
really buy into all these reports coming out nowadays. You
don't know what's the smoke screen and what have you?
Are you buying the Redskins drafting to a number two

(17:32):
overall now who has gone to Miami? Uh, it's just
as simple as that. My you know, we we know
Borrow is going to Cincinnati. I do not believe Washington
is going to do anything of this sort. You went
out of your way. Daniel Schneider went out of his way?
Did he not to get a quarterback last year? Somebody

(17:53):
that he felt, he loved, that he wanted. Uh And
after one year in that impossible situation there, I think
they'd be absolutely crazy to go out and try to
get to us. Yeah, we do. We're not to see
the number one overall. Yeah, but but again that's a

(18:13):
different scenario you're talking about. They went out and what
is Ron Rivera's socially some sort of whisperer quarterback whisper
that I missed here. It's you know, they're gonna build
that team defensively, him and Jack del Rio. They're gonna
be tough, hard nosed team. They're gonna go with what
they got. They're gonna add to the defense. That's who
your head coaches, that's who you brought in. That's the

(18:35):
personality of your team. It's not going to be you
know what they did in Arizona. It was a once
in a lifetime you were gonna go get a quarterback
that they thought was a game changer in which the
league was going um and two may not be able
to play for a year, So what the hell? Good
does that do them. We don't know what the medical
reports are gonna be. Miami's a different story. Miami. Uh,

(18:57):
they need a quarterback. Two is gonna land to them,
and I think they're gonna grab to it and they're
gonna do They're gonna keep Fitzpatrick in case two has
got to rest a year. Uh. It all lines up
for two of going to Miami. Alright, but there's a
possibility the Redskins trade out of that pick, right if
if if people think Miami is going to select to it,
maybe a team trades up to get past Miami at

(19:19):
number two, and then they too many, too many question
marks with two. I don't know anybody the amount of
assets you'd have to give up to go up and
get him for a question mark. I didn't know. It's
just not gonna happen. It's just not gonna happen right now, Joe, Yeah,

(19:42):
Chase Young is not drafted number two, and you just
brought in two defensive minded guys Ron Rivera, and you're
going in there and be a tough note who's better
than Chasing You're gonna let Chase you. I'm going to someplace.
I don't see it. I just don't see it happening,
But I think, well, they could get value though with
Isaiah Simmons. Maybe later on, if they don't drop too
far down in the first round. Maybe you know, you

(20:03):
could get a Kuda cornerback from Ohio. There's some good
prospects outside of Chase Young. Defensively speaking, Joe, I mean
it's Chase Young, generational pass rush Joe. He's good, don't
get me wrong, But is he that J. J. Watt?
I don't think. I don't think he's j. J. Watt.
He's more in the lines of Miles Garrett, who's number
one overall solid player trust, I mean, not a huge

(20:24):
difference maker. Well listen, all the brain trust say he is.
And you know, this kid has been touted to be,
you know, the next true game changer on the defensive side.
So yeah, that's where was the college fam He was
nowhere to be found against Clemson. Joe nowhere to be
found against Clemson, Nowhere to be found against one about

(20:44):
an entire career at Ohio State against Michigan, is it not?
Is it not? No? The little championship game Michigan, the
last three games he played nowhere to be fair, he
didn't even have a tackle, and in a couple of
those games shouldn't have been he took off his sea.
Because he took off his senior year, A lot of
people treticulous either A lot of people. A lot of

(21:05):
people would say that was he worth The number of
people wouldn't say a lot of people would go, you
know what, I'd take Clowney in a heart, in a second,
I would take Clowney. So just because a guy doesn't
perform at a game or two his senior year doesn't
mean the game doesn't transition into the NFL. And when
you have a draft pick and you are building a

(21:25):
team from the defense up, then this is a guy
you go out and get. You don't trade out of that.
And in five years from when he's leading the league
in just about every defensive statistical category, go wow, you
know we could have had him, but we opted to go,
you know, with two who's out of the league because
his hip shot, nobody's gonna do. How great he's wait? Wait, wait,

(21:47):
how great of the Browns? Wait? Wait? Did I miss something?
The Browns make the playoffs the last few years with
Miles Garrett as a generational pass rusher. No as great
as Miles Garrett is off the field show. Even if
she show goes out there, it plays great, but lockedown
corner and Jeffy Tuta might be as smarter decision. John's
problems talent? Do they not have enough talent on the Browns?

(22:08):
The Washington Redskins are right up there. They're laughing stock
organization as well. You know, Daniel Sumner, you know that
they're not any better need talent in and leveland needs
co Garrett has talen to need. So it's the same difference.
It's the same difference. Though he is not going to
as great as he is make you a playoff contender.

(22:31):
You could trade down and you can still get a
great defensive player, Joe, and get more acidly, more prospects. Joe,
even talking about you hired a defensive minded coach, right
you got you could go get it. You could go
get a Jeffrey as they're great players as well. Joe.
My job is to go out and get talent on

(22:52):
the defense because it's what I know best. I'm going
and getting the best player on the board defensively, and
that player is Chase King. It's not even a question.
But no, no, no no, he's, he's he's he's regarded as, yes,
the best prospect. But that's not a huge gap. That's
not a huge gap where you're gonna go, all right, Well,

(23:12):
if I could get another first round pick by trading
down couple and still draft a player like Jeff Okuda
or as Ayah Simmons, that might be the play, Joe,
That might be the play, especially if someone's willing to
sell you the phone. You are not avoiding a guy
that everyone is consensus. No, no, no, no, number one.

(23:36):
He might show he's a number one player, but he's
not a generational pass rusher. There are questions about young
How there are that scouts scouts saying this, we go
on scouts, Joe, the same scouts would say that he's
a generational pass rusher. Are the same scouts out there
that tell me that he's not a generational pass How
the how do you know? How do you know? Like

(23:57):
I saw the same thing back at you. How do
you don't know? But neither If you watch the film Boy,
he disappeared in three of the biggest games of his wife.
So shocked by the scouts, Joe, by the scouts, they
have off. This isn't rocket science. He was nowhere to
be found. He didn't even have a tackle against Michigan,

(24:20):
not even a tackle or a hurry. Joe, generation talent
or you don't know either, Joe, you're guessing as well.
You have no clue either. I'm you're saying he's a
generational rush or yes you are. You're saying he's a
generational past and I'm saying that there are questions about that.
Joe at a general man, not a generational He's not

(24:44):
That is not true. You can go by scouts from
what they say. We'll continue this argument when we continue
it at the window right. Hopefully Joe is shut up
at some point. We'll be right back. Are you ready

(26:03):
Just take me back to last week when we are
a couple of days ago when you found out Major
League Baseball is going to uh at least for the
time being postponed the start of the season by two
weeks could be longer, and most people think it will
be longer. But take me back to your initial thoughts
and and what's been going on there as far as
being on the ground, uh there uh And with the

(26:24):
coronavirus now impacting all the sports around the United States, well,
I think my my initial reaction is this is something
so much bigger than sports that we're all still trying
to get our minds around. And the first concerns is
the virus and life as we know it has been interrupted.
So anything anything that can be done to help, everybody

(26:47):
has to do their part. It seems like social distancing
and quarantine is about the only thing that works, and
so this seems like the next logical stead Yeah. Rich,
it was just it was just an asse that the
Yankees collectively as a team have decided that they are
going to stay in Tampa and in trying and spring

(27:08):
training together as a group, and you know, major League
Baseball said, you guys are free to go home. But uh,
you know, on some level, I believe that's probably the
best decision for a lot of teams. It doesn't make
any sense to let guys distribute into the country and
you know, being quarantined in Tampa, so to speak. I
think it's a little bit, maybe a little bit safer

(27:28):
on a lot of levels. What do you think about
the Yankees being the first team to say, listen, we
all agree we're not leaving. We're staying here together in Tampa. Yeah,
you know that is I'm not an epidemiologist, and I'm
not going to pretend to be one. So I don't
know what the best thing to do for each team.
Every team, every player is trying to figure out where

(27:52):
you go, how the best can navigate this thing. This
is a once in a lifetime deal that we're we're
all going through, And uh, I don't know how when uh,
we come out on the other side, So I wouldn't
be the one to say, yeah, the Yankees are doing
the right thing or the wrong thing. They're doing what

(28:12):
they feel is best for them. Richard, where do we
go from here? If they start up the Major League
Baseball spring training, I think that's gonna be halted. That's
not gonna come back. But as far as starting the
regular season again, what would that look like? How many
days do the players need before a regular season can begin?

(28:33):
Do they need to play inter squad games a few
games before they get ready for the regular season? What
does that look like? And as far as I guess potentially,
when will we get the season started? I mean, any
scenarios where baseball is played into December? Is that being
talked about right now? Yeah? I think this is all

(28:54):
uncharted territory. I think all of those scenarios have been discussed. First,
the virus has to get under control, and we've seen
that that life is getting back to normal in China.
I think in the last forty hours they've had one
new case at one at one point they read in
a day. So that's where it starts. And until that
is taken care of in terms of how much the

(29:16):
players will need. Obviously, the more time off, the more
time they will need to prepare. As far as what
the new schedule looks like, I think those are all
things we're just sorting through day by day and trying
to figure out what's what's the best course. I don't
think there is a right answer at this point. So Richard,
who is who do you think this, uh, this added

(29:38):
rest or added time away from the game helps the most, obviously,
I would guess the Yankees and maybe Houston and Verlander,
and you know, does a change your perspective on the
future of some of these teams based upon maybe having
an extra thirty or sixty days to heal up, Well,
it won't hurt in terms of Burlander, in terms of

(30:01):
Chris Sale with the Red Sox, certainly in terms of
the Yankees, the multiple multiple guys that are injured with
the Yankees. But we don't know what I mean, we
don't know if Chris Sale is going to be ready
to pitch when he when they come back whenever. That
is the same thing with Burlander and Aaron Judge and
John Carlos Stanton and all. So you know, it can't hurt.

(30:24):
It has to be at least some advantage. Uh. But
as to how much, uh, we don't know because these
are these are all all these guys had potentially serious
injuries and uh so you know, it's it's very much
up in the air on all that. But it can't hurt. Richard,

(30:45):
How brazoar is it? It's March fourteenth, and there's no
baseball being played right now, and there's no baseball season
expected to start in the next month. So well, they
say they're gonna be pushing back two weeks, but more
they'll be longer than that. So what are you doing
with your downtime? I mean, like you, you're only free,
and you have things I guess you could do other
than covering the sport of baseball. How bizarre is it

(31:06):
right now? For you? It's incredibly bizarre. Because baseball players
and people who cover baseball are tuned to the seasons.
Our season is sort of regimented. I was with the
Raise a couple of weeks ago, and I asked the
bench coach mac Utaro. I said, hey, Matt, when do
you guys come to Houston where I live? And he
held up a clipboard and said, and it was that

(31:29):
day's schedule for the rais. He goes, Honestly, this is
all I know. I've only gotten through today, and it's
I think the athletic or somebody who wrote a story
about a year ago. Baseball players don't know, especially during
spring training or uh, don't know what day it is.
You know, they're so regimented to the schedule, get through,
get ready for the season, all that, and that's all

(31:51):
been interrupted, so you know, we're all still trying to
figure it out right right. It's it really is. It's
the strangest thing, and we just it's day by day.
It's unbelievable how fluid it has been and where we
are right now. But you know, let's say the options
are for Major League Baseball, though, Richard, that they come

(32:13):
back and let's say instead of a hundred and sixty
two games, guys, we're gonna cut the season here a
little bit. How do you think that changes the dynamic
of the new rules how they use pitchers starting pitchers,
because obviously, you know, Garrett Call is not gonna have
two hundred endings, and in some of these starting pitchers,
if it's a hundred forty five or whatever it is.

(32:33):
It's gonna make scheduling a little bit interesting from the
manager standpoint on how do you starting pitchers? Sean brought
it up earlier. I mean, you don't have guys having
to worry about going over two hundred endings or endings.
Limited kind of changes the way you manage, doesn't it.
Um you know, we'll see. Well. I think the first

(32:53):
priorities to make sure you give them an upspring training
to get ready. The team that comes to mind that
might be in an advantage is Oakland. Opland is counting
on three young guys Hayes's Lozardo, Frankie Montas and A. J. Puck,
and it really changed the look of their team down
the straits last season. But Lozardo and Puck both through
fewer than fifty innings last year, so it was a

(33:16):
real issue about how much what the workload could be.
Uh Houston has Lancement Colors who was coming back from
Tommy John surgery. What would his workload be? So obviously
the shorter the time frame we're looking at. Uh. If
if that's the case, you know, and I don't think
there's been a decision made on whether you extend the
season shortness season all of that, But but it can't

(33:37):
hurt a team like the A's and the Astros, who
are who have some pictures that their workloads. We're gonna
have to be managed carefully, Richard, to the best of
your knowledge, have you spoken with anyone who mentioned the
drop that date where baseball would have to start to
get in a season, a competent season. Is there a

(33:59):
certain date out there that if if this is not
contained by June fifte or or pick the date, we
can't we can't continue with a baseball season. Is it
is there a possibility the baseball seasons canceled completely? The
concern is so much bigger than that, I mean, I mean,
we're talking about an economic and a health impact the

(34:22):
likes of which we have not seen in this country
are around the world. So you know, I don't even think,
like I can't even get my mind around what would
be the impact on baseball. We've kind of get this
virus under control and then assess the economic damage to
the to the country, to the world and go from there.
So it's it's a day to day It's we dury

(34:44):
in water uncharted waters, and nobody quite knows, you know,
what we We don't know what the virus is gonna
look like a week from today, certainly not a month
from today. So those are all questions that can't be answered.
You mentioned the you know, the the economic factor here, Richard,
it's you know, we've seen NBA players, we've seen NBA

(35:06):
owners step up to the plate regarding you know, the
employees that work at the stadium, works at work at
the games. Baseball same situation. You know, spring training facilities
are are loaded with folks that that have jobs, the
the actual you know, the actual employees back at the
stadiums themselves getting ready for the start of the season.
All of a sudden, these folks don't have a job,

(35:27):
and you know, has there been any discussion from Major
League Baseball and on maybe how to help those folks
that are going to be impacted the most. Yeah, I
think numerous clubs have have said they're going to do
everything they can to take to help those people out.
And we'll see what the federal government comes up in
terms of stimulus. But I mean that's just a small portion.

(35:52):
You know, Apple Coast all its stores in North America today,
but at the same time, reopened its stores in China.
Uh drive stood restaurants UH are in where I live
have have closed their walk in and are new and
only drive to The economic impact is really we just
don't know, but it seems like it's gonna be so

(36:14):
huge that ever there's gonna have to be some private
sector helping out and some public sector helping out. Wow,
we really don't know. I mean, it's a fluid situation
and uh, we need some more information before going on.
But one last thing here, Richard Uh Trevor Bauer is
organizing san loot games with fellow Major League Baseball players.

(36:35):
That's coming over the wire here, Um, is that going
to be allowed? Is teams going to shut that down
and worry that groups of players can you know, possibly
spread the virus? I don't you know, I don't know.
I don't know the answer to that. I M. These

(36:56):
things have to be Uh. Players have contracts, and you've
got to be careful about run baseball related injuries and
you have to be under team supervision. So no, I
I don't know. Yeah, I would imagine that, Yeah, the contract,
the teams would want to shut that down, right, I
don't want to risk potential injury, indoor spreading the fires

(37:18):
all right, Richard Justice MLB dot com. Thanks for the tom.
I appreciate it, Thank you. Thanks Richard. We're back. We'll
talk some more. NFL on at the window. Stay tuned.
Daily Rhodo dot Com learned from the game's best DBS players.
We don't just give you premier advice. We play every day,

(37:42):
all major sports, all year round. We never stopped industry
leading DBS tools and custom projections, and now the Daily
rhodos dot Com optimized in minutes, building optimized line up
for cast games and turneys learned from the game's best
DFS players joined Daily Rodo dot com. Finally a song

(38:22):
that we can all go with. Here's some a C
d C about times Snake Gangle played something good. Welcome
back into at the window, wrapping things up. I'm Sean
Glassmaki here at the sports screen studio, at the fandel
Sports Book at the Metal Ends. You can hear the
horse race going onto my left here or with the
crowd noise as they just raced at golf Stream once
again O Maryland Jockey Club. Actually they're Joe Ornery all

(38:45):
over that Jose, South Florida. Joe wrapping things up here
what are you looking to bet on tonight? Well, what's
going on? What's your up plate tonight? Any best bets?
I'm sure I'm still trying to get over the fact
that that all that screaming for race wanted golf straight Game. Uh.
It was a seventy eight dollar horse, that one, and
the super effect at the start today was a little

(39:07):
over twenty six thousand dollars in that race alone. So uh,
somebody who had got two bucks for you? Yeah, twenty
six thousand dollars in return it was. Yeah, anytime you
get a thirty five to one shot that wins a race,
you're gonna make some money. I think we know why
those guys were screaming and yelling all day. That's fantastic. Yeah,

(39:28):
that's why horse racing is great to gamble on. If
you're like yourself, Joe, you follow it and know what
you're betting on. Uh, that's a great, great return on
an exact though. We gotta get into this horse racing now,
what are you what are you looking at here? Well,
what are we playing? You're gonna be the only game.
You got a couple of very big races going on today,
races that will determine who moves onto the Kentucky Derby,

(39:49):
which is just around the corner. So you've got a
lot of big, heavy duty, million dollar grade races. The
Rebel Stakes today at Arkansas is one that a lot
of people are gonna be look and at. There is
a stakes race coming up in Gulf Stream and Tampa today,
so a lot of money and especially given the the
new interest in horse racing. The handle goes up, which

(40:10):
means the split of the pot goes up, which means
there is a ton of money to be made in
horse racing today with some of these bigger grade races.
So I am sure it's gonna be there's gonna be
a lot of hooting and hollering there at the Fandel
today as these races get ready anywhere from three four
or five o'clock today, there's going to be an awful

(40:31):
lot of money exchanging hands. All right, we'll take a
look at that. And uh, we thought we would have
a NASCAR race to break down here with Sean Angel,
but that was scrapped yesterday until the postphone. NASCAR has
two races and we expect more to come. So that's out.
How about UFC you into this card in Brazil. People

(40:52):
are like Kevin Lee here, I think minus one fifty
to win his his match dropping down to one fifty five.
He's had a lot success. They're anyone on the UFC
card that you like tonight. It's so hard to know
what it is gonna be like for guys to walk
into an arena in Brazil and nobody be there. I

(41:13):
just you know, fighters especially who thrive off of, you know,
their atmosphere and what's going on. I can't. I just
I don't know what to expect. That's the problem here.
You know, it's soccer. We've seen it, we get it.
You know a lot of these uh, a lot of
these guys have have scrimmage with nobody around and and
I understand all that, but you know, when you're getting

(41:35):
your face bashed in and uh, you know, sometimes you
need the crowd to be able to get you up
and get going on and have that electricity adrenaline. But man,
you gotta hear a pin drop in Brazil there with
this fight. I just weird to me. I don't know
how that's going to happen in a m M. A
match in a cage that nobody is there to watch

(41:57):
or nothing for you to feed off of. I think
it's gonna be very interesting to see how this goes.
But you do have some I think the Liga in
UH in Mexico they got soccer going on. Rugby is
going on in Argentina, so there is there are some
events not to mention a handball and uh, of course
darts also around the world. And if you like cricket,

(42:18):
uh plenty of matches to uh to bet there today
as well. Crickets huge, it really is, and darts in
England is really big. I'm surprised that they continue dorge
right around the world. I mean, yeah, it is, you
really is. So I've been told I don't know, I
can't get it darts, but yeah, there's more handling cricket

(42:42):
around the world. More people bet on cricket than any
other sports in the world. So I mean we don't
we don't go near because we have baseball. You have,
you know, real cricket, it's called baseball. But for the
rest of the world, man oh man, the books in
India and Pakista, I mean you go to that part
of the world, Korea, China, they are betting cricket people

(43:04):
and they are betting a big time, right right right. Yeah.
So so for the people out there who need to
fix there, you have it that those are the sports
that you could still bet on here. Um. But I
was surprised that UFC when I went ahead with the
card in Bellator, I know the event is in Connecticut.
Was the schedule to be in Connecticut. The rival to UFC,

(43:25):
the m M, a mixed martial arts organization, they had
a card. They scrapped it last minute. Uh surprised in
a white Uh continued with the card. Yep, the I'm
not Uh. They were pretty adamant about it. Uh. He
says he talked to the president and vice president. So
I do think something else and you never know the deal.

(43:48):
If it was in the US, it would have been canceled.
The fact that it's in Brazil and you don't know
what kind of what the contracts were. Who was handshaken Wade,
who what was promised? I I doubt very much that
he had much of a choice in the situation. So
but if it was and and that's the big question, right,
you got Cabebe coming up fighting in Brooklyn, uh and

(44:09):
against Ferguson that it's already been canceled four or five times,
and the question is is that fight. They haven't said anything,
but that's a huge, huge fight, that's maybe one of
the biggest fights we've had ever in UFC, and that's
probably not happening, So it'll be canceled once again. So
other questions to be answered by Dana White and UFC

(44:31):
for sure coming up. I lost Joe, Joe, I lost you, Okay,
I'm sorry, No, no, I'm just saying that it's uh.
They've already applied to Vegas to move it from Brooklyn
to Vegas. How do we know Vegas ain't gonna be
shut down by that time? Oh you're there now, all right? Good,

(44:55):
let it go. Guys in there, all right, Well we
got me now there, so there you go. But that's
the that's the situation, and for sure is that you've
got UFC one of their biggest fights ever in the
history of UFC with Cabebe getting ready to go back
to the ring against Ferguson, which has been canceled. They've
applied to Vegas in the Nevada Sports, Sports and Gaming
Commission there to move that fight, which was scheduled I

(45:17):
believe for April eighteenth, to move in to Vegas. But
the problem is nobody knows that Vegas is guy. I mean,
we've already talked about books being shut down, the buffets
in Vegas shut down, and when that happens, guys, it's
a it's a whole another world. So um, that's going
to be a problem there. I don't know that it's
gonna happen at all, which means you know, Dana White,

(45:40):
because it's in Brazil, was able to do this, was
able to continue to this fight going on with no fans.
He's not gonna be able to get away with that
in the in the United States. I can you know
venues in New York and Vegas, there is a lot
of pressure and let's face it, there's a lot of
strong arm in going on right now. You don't want
to be the sport that that makes the first move

(46:02):
and says, ah, screw you. Listen, horse racing is going
on now because they're already a controlled environment and nobody
is screaming and yelling at horse racing is going on
because it's not a very thin, interactive sport to begin with.
Its horses, it's jockeys, its trainers, they're all tested and
they all that's a very closed knit group of folks there,

(46:24):
so nobody. They're not stepping on any toes by continuing
to do this other sports, though you saw a NASCAR
for NASCAR to shut it down. Uh, there was obviously
a lot of pressure. They were getting guys in hasmat suits,
driving cars, having contact with nobody but themselves, and and
the six or seven guys in a pit. They canceled

(46:46):
their sporting event. So horse racing is the last group standing.
I guarantee you with the races today, more money at
the tracks yesterday day one. You're talking at thirty five
percent increase at tracks are around the country. The handle's
gone up. The only game in town. There's a lot
of you that are gonna be sitting there going what
the hell do I do? Now? All of a sudden,

(47:08):
you're gonna start getting racing forms and you're gonna start
throwing a couple of bucks down on a on a
few exactives and Cornella's, And like I told you, at
first race, we heard the people screaming in the background. Guys, Uh,
that was a seventy two dollar horse. That one that
was a twenty six thousand dollars super fector for simply
two bucks. Um, so there is. It's a hell of

(47:29):
a lot better than lotto. Going out and playing scratch
off and playing lotto tickets, and you know what, you
get the races you get, and they're happening all over
the place. Aqueduct, Golf Stream, Tampa, turf Way, they're all
in action. And of course you will have that big
race uh coming up here this afternoon in Arkansas, and
the winner of that uh many times guys, that horse

(47:52):
goes on to Kentucky Derby and is usually one of
the favorites going in. So it's a big, big race
today in Arkansas and big money at Steaks Sean awesome.
I'm gonna going to look forward to that and bed
on it. I just wanted to mention a bib ferguson
April eighteenth that that's not gonna happen at the Parclay Center.
They're gonna postpone that, let's hope. As you mentioned, Joe

(48:13):
alluded to it. They've been trying to get this fight
for some time. Finally they get it, get it scheduled,
and now it's going to be get postponed. It looks
like no official work WrestleMania. Vince McMahon has not canceled WrestleMania,
due to take place April fifth in Tampa, but he
won't have to because Tampa said it's not gonna happen.
The community, the county is not going to allow that

(48:34):
to happen. So then what happens? Where does it go?
If you can't happen without fans, What the hell's the
point of that? Right right? Well, they might do it,
they might do it. I don't I know. UM with you,
how about some shout outs, Joe something new here, Shout
out to Kevin Love stepping up the first player I
think the first player I I caught on Twitter to

(48:55):
donate a hundred thousand dollars or some money to the
people affected by this Corona virus with the work stoppages.
Shout out to him. I've been hard on Kevin Love
for how he's acted in the past, with showing up
John Belon and being, um, you know, one of the
players behind the doors who who did not I guess
get along with John b Line and what have you,
and not getting along with Lebron James in the past,

(49:16):
not fitting in and all that. But shout out to
Kevin Love stepped up so good for him, and shout
out to Vince McMahon With the XFL, he's gonna play
the players, pay the players their full salary for the
ten games that they're only gonna play five, So shout
out to VINCEA. McMahon for that. Joe. Yep, absolutely, Craig,
I know Zion mentioned he was throwing some money in there. Uh,

(49:37):
the Cleveland Indians Organization, Rocket Mortgage and and many others. Well,
at least I hope they will, you know, Mark Cuban
and UH and some others are doing what they need
to do for the people who are gonna be affected
here in the short term. Joe was a lot of fun.
Hopefully we have some games to talk about in the
near future. We'll do it again next Saturday. Well, and

(49:58):
at the window, thanks for the time. End you'll look
with your race, all right. We'll talk some more NFL
Draft too. Yeah, we'll talk some more NFL Draft next
week too. That was fun alright. In game Live next
you're on the Sports Grade TV network.
