Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome back, Happy our listeners. I'm ready to be here
for another week with you again, and I'm flying solo today. Unfortunately,
Michelle is not going to be by my side this
week because I'm sure by now most of you have
all read or heard the news that, unfortunately Michelle and
Nate have decided to end their relationship. So she's going

(00:25):
to be taking a little bit of a breather, taking
some time away just to process all of this, because
I'm sure it's a lot right now, and so we
here on Bachelor Happy how we're going to hope all
of you listeners can just extend so much support and
love to her and to Nate too. They I can
only imagine, are going through such a rough time and

(00:46):
she just needs a little time to breathe and just
take it day by day. So whenever Michelle is ready
to come back, I will be here for her. And
if she is ready to share how she's been with
you all, then she will of course have the time
in the space to do that here. So again, in
the meantime, let's just send her in Nate so much love,
so much support and well wishes during this time to

(01:07):
get through it. Because as I'm sure most of us.
No breakups are never an easy thing, So Michelle, my
hurt goes out for you right now. And with all
of that being said, we still have a fun episode
for you coming today. Later in the episode, we are
talking to two very fun, cool women, Rishia Skidmore Williams
and brook Siffrin. They are pop culture experts, hosts of

(01:32):
a very popular podcast called The Rich and Daily and
Even the Rich and as a cherry on top, they
are also huge Bachelor fans, so it'll be a fun
episode with the two of them. But in the meantime,
I have called in reinforcements to back me up today
and I'm excited to have Thomas joined Happy Hour once
again for a little bit, just to catch everyone up

(01:53):
on life and what we've had going on. So please
welcome Thomas once again. Thomas, Welcome back to Happy Hour.
It's glad to be here. I told everyone that you
are my reinforcement for the half of this podcast. So
half this podcast I like to look at like reinforcement
for life, but hey, for life, I guess podcast does follow. Well.

(02:14):
We'll start with thirty minutes on the podcast and you know,
see how well you do fair enough. I have to
tell of our listeners to Thomas is very sweaty right now,
and I can't tell if it's because he's nervous to
be back here or if it's just because you've been
working so hard. Well, what they can't see under the table,
My knee's touching your knee. And quite frankly, I don't
know how to I don't know how to behave right now.
We're gonna play footstander on the table. Yeah, intersporing tots.

(02:36):
This got weird. Oh, it's got weird real now, this
is this is actually us, though we're just weirdos um, Thomas.
We have some exciting news, well a lot of We
have so much shit that's happening, good things that are
happening in our lives right now. Can I just it's
been a year, it's been three hundred and sixty five days. Well,
that's what I was going to say. We just, Thomas,
I just celebrated our technical one year anniversary from our

(03:01):
first date in Paradise, and man, what a wild ride
it's been. I said it on my Instagram post about you,
and I'll say it again, and I'll say it again
to the day that I literally could not have imagined
a life the way that it's been the last year.
If you said, write out your wildest fantasies and your
dreams and what you want your will to look like,

(03:21):
I couldn't even picture half it. Did that include an
ice in my bouquea of flowers that you gave me,
that's just the icing on the tip. So for anyone
who follows us on Instagram and have watched Thomas and
well my story too, because I we posted it. I
was so excited for our one year anniversary. I got
him this cute, very sentimental card and wrote this nice

(03:42):
message in it. And what does Thomas do to repay me?
He goes out and he gets, well, it wasn't beautiful
bouquet of flowers, but he said it on my lap
when he came home, and he's like, okay, put these in.
Put these in the base right now. And I'm like, okay,
first of all, why are you making me do this?
And second of all, why is this bouquet so heavy?
What is in these flowers? So I cut open the

(04:04):
bouquet to put in a vase and he has a
smear enough ice in the middle of it, And what
do I do like any champ, I get down on
one knee and chug that baby. But that rocky soundtrack
Alexa stage left, But that was his anniversary gift to me.
I gotta keep you on your toes. It's something I

(04:25):
had the opportunity. It was a big bouquet. I don't
even know where the first thought was, but there was
no way I was not. Just remember what goes around
comes around, and Thomas's birthday is coming up this weekend,
so just be mindful that you might have a lot
of smear enough ices going down the hatch. Well that's fine.
I'm turning thirty, so I plan on being out of
my mind anyways, So just bring him on thirty. Oh,

(04:48):
I might have to actually have you on a good
next week so we can tell all of our listeners
what we did for your birthday, because I have a
few surprises at my sleep. A hard part about that, though, babe,
is we're gonna be celebrating and I will officially be thirty,
so I will probably still be struggling next week, thirty
going on about seventy six. Yes, yeah, yes, but that
was our fun news this week. We have so much

(05:11):
more that's not just our fun we happened. Well about
the house, Oh yeah, so so well. I've talked about
this on the podcast quite Official House Knock on Wood.
I don't want anything so weird. Backstory about the house. Yes,
Thomas and I bought a house in San Diego. We

(05:32):
originally got it what like a month ago, Yes, and
then a budge of random stuff kind of fell through
with the cellar and it was such a headache, so
we ended up pulling out. And then, in the best
change of events, because I was dreaming about this house
and I loved it so much and it was so
sad that we lost it, the seller ended up coming

(05:53):
back and doing some work on it and meeting us
in the middle, so we finally got the house back.
What's the old expression, I really love something, let it go.
If it comes back to you, it's meant to be.
I think that was just sudden grays anatomy in the
most recent gris Anatomy from Derek Shephard. But yes, so
we are very soon going to be official co homeowners together.

(06:17):
She made me her fiance, I'm making her my roommate,
and it seems like a fair trade off. But yes,
we're super excited. It's nineteen twenty six craftsmen like. She
dreams about this house when when I walked away, I
had to sleep with one eye opened for a little
bit because I didn't know. She wasn't like trying to
smother me in the middle of the night because she
loves this home. So yeah, well so so when we

(06:40):
first actually went to go look at it the day
I got back from tour, I told him. I was like,
I don't want to leave the couch or the bed.
I want to sleep for thirty six hours and that move.
I'm so exhausted. And what does Thomas do that same day?
Makes me go and look at houses and this was
one of the This was actually the first one that
we looked at and we fell in love with it.

(07:01):
And so we had set up a meeting with the
reorder and walked through it and Thomas was playing hard
to get it. At first, I was like all in, like,
let's buy it. This is our house, and Thomas was
playing hardball with her. And then we finally get in
the car an hour later and he's like, Babe, I
love it. We're going to buy this house. And right
away he started dreaming up all of the renovations. So
we officially close on what seven and I think that

(07:25):
same day Thomas is going to put on this little
cutoff jean shorts and get down to business with the
tool belt. Bob the builder has nothing on Tommy the Builder.
I'll tell you this one right now. It's gonna be Yeah.
So Thomas is going to be in demolition derby mode
for a couple of weeks. But but it's gonna be amazing.
It's it's something we both see ourselves are this trajectory

(07:48):
of life and what we want in this house in
this neighborhood. And it's a little quirky right now, but
I'm excited for that because one it allowed us to
afford the house, and then two it really lets us
put our own stamp on it. And three I like
the build stuff. So it's gonna be Yeah, it'll be interesting.
I've never seen him, I mean, I've seen him like
do little projects around a home, but nothing major. So

(08:08):
you're gonna go to the store and you're gonna come
back and there's gonna be no floors in, a couple
of walls missing, and or it's gonna say, I mean,
they're gonna fall more and more in love with you
through this process, or I'm going to need to live
on my own for three months while you're doing it
all and just stay away so I don't become an
anxious stress monster. I think it's gonna be a combination
of the two. It'll be very interesting, but we can't

(08:30):
wait to show off everything. Probably we'll share some stuff
on social media, maybe do some tiktoks. Does this mean
I'm officially moving to San Diego? Yes, i am, but
I'll still have my place in La So if anyone
is looking to rent out a two bed, three bath unit,

(08:54):
let me know. Holler at your girl because I'll be
renting out my space for a little bit furniture unfurnished.
We can should chat about that. But yeah, life is crazy.
If you would have told me a year ago on
Paradise that Thomas and I would be doing all of
this in a span of a year, I would have
told you that you're high and probably believed you even

(09:15):
more so because you broke up with me on Paradise.
I see how that would make things even harder to
fort brought twist of a century. Yeah, m So, before
I bring our guests on and kick you off, Thomas,
I do want to share one more thing because we
in the past week we went to Nashville. We were
we went to the CMA Fest and we had such

(09:36):
a fun time. It was a quick, what thirty six hours,
but we were able to see Tia and Taylor and
Serena was there, so we spent some time with them
and just had a grand old time around Nashville and
love that we was the highlight of your trip. Oh
my gosh, breakfast sandwich is in the Virgin Hotel. Oh yeah, well,

(09:56):
I love country music. So just the energy of the
CMA Fest and just the stages everywhere, and then just
being able to wander and see so much awesome things
in the city that we enjoy. Yeah, it was it
was cool. We were there for I mean for the
show for the Bad Sharette, And unfortunately we didn't get
to see the Bachelorettes. The Bacherettes play. Yes we have

(10:17):
two this year. We didn't get to see Gabby and
Rachel because they went there a few days after we left.
But if you if you stopped by the booth, I mean,
let us know what you thought. Like they went all out.
It was so cool. They had the actual car that
Gabby and Rachel drove in their promo shoot. They had
like fun games. They had a screen printing T shirt

(10:38):
press where Thomas was working hard making all these T shirts,
sling them, slinging them out for all the ladies in there.
It may or may not have found a new calling
in life. Yeah, I'm honestly not surprised. I thought we
were going to come back from Nashville and I had
walked down into our garage and Thomas was going to
have a T shirt printing press in the basement. Well,
that'd be irresponsibile. Do before we move, I mean, let

(10:59):
us get Oh yeah, a new side hustle. What would
you put on shirts if you made them for people? Easy?
People's dogs faces? Oh, like their faces? Wait, the dog's
face on the human face? Yeah? Have you seen the
has answered the portraits of like where you have the
dog and it's like a royalty portrait where it's like

(11:21):
the dog in like the high necked gown with a
crown or so. That's just how Leo dresses in the morning.
That's very true, Leo and minno our royalty. All right, Tommy,
before we let you go, though, we have a slew
of fan questions that we just keep in the back
burner for when we have fun guests like you on
And one of the things that I've personally gotten and

(11:44):
I know that the Bachelor Happy Our page has gone,
is we've talked about our proposal and the engagement and
they've heard a lot of my saga things. But from
your point of view, how does it feel to get
proposed to? Oh, It's most flattering thing I I could.
I've experienced, it did something I Jena was blown away.

(12:06):
I didn't see it coming. I didn't expect it, and
then it just felt so just normal and just right.
And it's just it was a big confidence boost to
me one just because it was such a special moment
and to it really just showed you really do have
my back. And when you say you want a fifty
fifty relationship and you always want to show that I'm
loved and care for you, don't This is not lip service.

(12:26):
You do things like proposed to me like you're willing
to You're willing to do above and beyond anything that
most people would would project as a normal behavior, whatever
normal is. And it's it's amazing because it really does
keep me on my toes, and I think that's one
of the reasons why we have so much fun in life,
because it's just anything could happened on any given day,

(12:49):
and it's just that well, Exhibit A is the spear
enough ice on our anniverse. It's practice the same thing. Wait,
I actually am curious thought because I've never even asked
you this. When did it finally sink in for you
that we're engaged in a very untraditional way, Because even
when I proposed to you in that moment, you know,

(13:10):
we've talked about this is like how joy filled you
were and you were just laughing for so long, like
Quint had actually sink in where you were like, I'm
a fiance and this girl flipped the switch. Well, you
use the word unconventional, and I would say that never
actually sunk in, And that wasn't ever a thought that
I have really had, just because I have nothing to

(13:31):
compare it to, Like this is my only experience in
an engagement, So for me, it just feels feels the
way it's supposed to be because it's just I don't
know any better, and I mean that and just the
pure is just straightforward way, So I mean, we're not
necessarily the most traditional people. I'm not necessarily the most
orthodox person to begin with, and the most the most orthodox,

(13:56):
the most orthodox that are hard. They are hard. But something, No,
it didn't feel odd, it doesn't feel unconventional. It feels right.
I mean we had a moment to celebrate our love
and continue to progress it forward, and to me, that's
always going to feel right. I have a totally random question.
Did you just eat the dishes? Because I can smell

(14:17):
the sponge on your hands. That's a weird things. Yes,
I did the dishes too. I think I need to
go replace the sponge. Yeah. Wow, I have such a
distinct smell. Fair um, all right, Thomas, Oh wow, this
is this is the question. We've actually gotten this a lot,

(14:39):
but I want you to answer this because I've said
my side of things. But now that we're engaged, would
we get married in paradise? Would we get married? I
think anyone who's followed us closely since the time we
gotten together. No, we're we want a lot more of
an intimate just a family, close knit reception or it's

(15:01):
just for us? Well where ceremony you mean that reception are?
I know our ceremony won't be in Paradise. But who's
to say we won't have a massive celebratory reception or
a big party on the beach sometime. I mean, okay,
I'm probably going to say no to that. Well, I
didn't define Paradise, you know what I mean, Oh, passionate Paradise. Yeah,

(15:24):
coming back September twenty seven, best good for the show. Yeah,
So I don't necessarily see us doing anythink in front
of cameras to that extent. It's something our relationship all
just been for us. I mean, that was the cool
thing about Well, if there's any silver lining about breaking
up on Paradise, it's just we had no expectations of

(15:44):
anything after that. Yeah, we got to choose to do
things our own way. But I will say, and we've
been asked this before, like if we would just go
down for an appearance or just do something there, and
we definitely would be open to it. And I think
we're we both are on the same page as because
the food down there is so freaking incredible. It's some
of the best food I've ever had. Well, so we

(16:06):
would go. I thought I would go because it was
one of the most transformed of thirty Day periods of
my life. I enjoyed every moment of those, and those
are memories I hold fondly. But I guess the food's
great too. It's so crazy to think about too. So
I mean, I know, you just briefly mentioned Thomas's thirtieth
birthday coming up. And last year we were in Paradise

(16:28):
for your birthday, and for any of the listeners who
don't understand, like we're filming twenty four to seven, so
we're up till like three, four or five in the morning.
Most night's just constantly filming and having conversations with everyone.
And Thomas and I on his birthday, when it turned midnight,
we had been laying just on the beach talking for hours,

(16:51):
and I knew it was going to be his birthday,
but I didn't have a clock by me, and so
I totally forgot about it. And I was like walking
with the girls on the beach, and I was like, Holy,
shouldn't Thomas's birthday? And so I pulled him to the
beach bar while it's poured out shots for everyone and
we all sing him Happy birthday. And I think you
had stuff like that was one of the most special
birthday moments you've ever had. Yeah, that's Wilder's a year ago.

(17:13):
Historically birthdays having been my favorite thing just for whatever reason,
I don't necessarily like the attention on me. And then
there's just some negative stuff around birthdays as a kid
growing up. So just to have that moment when I
said those thirty days were some of the most transformative
and just happiest days in my life. I mean, oh god,

(17:33):
you're gonna make me cry because I broke up with you. Yeah,
you're a monster. But that's neither here nor there. Look
at us now. Wow, I'm really cheering up right now. Damn. Yeah,
Oh my gosh, that's so crazy. We are. We are
all over the place. Um okay. Another question, would you
potentially be open to having a bachelor or a boucherette

(17:56):
party in Paradise? Oh? Hell yeah that one. That's another story,
are you That would be fun? That would be if
if if Rodney, I don't know if he's on the
beach or not, but if Rodney is there, I'm definitely
in just rode that. But it's just gonna be a
Thomas and Rodney bachelor party. Was running around go on
a while? Yeah? Oh oh, I can't swear on this.

(18:17):
But I want to swear on this. I would absolutely
have a bachelor party in Paris. Wait, but I would
want Runny to be at my bad Schorrette party. No,
I'm going to fight him for you. I'm gonna fight
for him. That's not a good way to gain to
go another reason check. Um. Oh yeah, if I don't
have a bachelor party in Paradise, I'm gonna be like, damn,

(18:38):
that could be fun. Oh wow, I would want to
come to your baud Schorrette party. Coming to my bachelor party.
Well yeah, I mean I'm gonna be like the creeper
in the background with the binoculars. It's gonna be hiding
a cake somewhere exactly scaredy Well, Thomas, I love having
you on. Thank you for coming in for a little bit.
I know it's a wonky week, but I feel like

(19:01):
our listeners love having you on. They love to hear.
But I'm glad to be here. I brought him in
last minute. It was like, Thomas, do you have a
couple of minutes to join me today? And he said,
hell yeah, so what can I What was that accent
you just did on that question? Did I do an act, Thomas,
do you have a couple of moments to join me today?
I didn't say it like that today. That's how I
heard it. I was just thinking of how I asked

(19:25):
you where you were mine? Halo is running low, my
head is spinning a little bit. I don't though. I
think I gotta get out of here. Out here, all right, Thomas,
thanks for being Unhappy Hour. We love you see soon.
All right, Happy Hour. It is that time when we
have to bring our fun guests on and I'm so
excited to be speaking with Aruscia, Skidmore Williams and brook

(19:47):
Siffren today. They're both comedians and hosts of two podcasts.
One is The Rich and Daily podcast, which covers anything
and everything that is happening in celebrity news, and they
also do the podcast Even the Rich, which is a
series that tells the stories of major moments in pop
culture history, including, and just to name a few, because
they have so many, Janet Jackson and the Super Bowl

(20:09):
Halftime Show, the Free Brittany Movement, the life and Loves
of Elizabeth Taylor, and so much more. And their most
recent season is actually diving into the story of Elton
John That just drops so I can't wait to talk
to them more about that and pick their brain. And Plus,
Rishia and Brooke are huge Bachelor fans, so I can't

(20:30):
wait to get into all of things, all the things
of Bachelor Nation with them and hear their thoughts on
everything going on in this world and how they feel
about the new season coming out. So, without further ado,
Bachelor Happy Hour listeners, please welcome Rishia and Brooke. I'll
write you too, Welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour. I am
so excited to have you here. I know Michelle wishes

(20:52):
she could be part of this, but in the meantime,
you just get me and so it's so great to
welcome you both. Just to fill everybody in on how
you both are doing, give us a little update on
life and everything. Well, we just got back from an
airbnb this morning, and such exciting. Yeah, this is this
story is going to rivet you. I don't like to

(21:14):
pay to do my laundry, so I brought literally like
six to ten loads to do and the washing machine
didn't work. So I have now been going up and
down my stairs for the last like two hours doing laundry.
And that's how I'm doing right now. Oh, gosh. It's
to note that the airbnb is in the city that
we live in, literally like five minutes from our Yeah,

(21:35):
it was a mile and a half. Was it just
a little saycation. Yeah. One of our producers from Rich
and Daily was in town from Canada. So we're like, oh,
let's get an airbnb. Let's have like a Rich and
Daily house. And it is literally ten minutes from both
of our apartments. It's like we got to just yeah,
that's fun though. It's just fun get away, you know,
and you still know the area and so you still

(21:55):
feel comfortable. So you just mentioned one of the podcasts.
But one of the reasons why I'm so excited to
have you both here today is because we not only
love supporting other podcasts, but especially supporting our fellow women
in the podcasting space. And so you have both hosted
two podcasts together, Rich and Daily and even The Rich.
So fill all of the listeners in who don't know.

(22:18):
How did you two meet? How did you decide to
start podcasting together in the first place. So we met
doing valet parking for like rich people celebrities, and we
hit it off right away, and then we became roommates
and ironically enough, Becca, the first time we podcasted together

(22:38):
was a Bachelor podcast? Really and what season was it? Mine?
It wasn't yours, but it was the season where you
were introduced to where we were all in dury season
yeah who must not be named correct. I was like,
how can I say this without saying sorry? So that

(23:00):
it's really crazy that we're now on your podcast. It's
just really yeah. So that was our first journey into podcasting,
and of course we ad spectacularly. We still do. I know.
We were such fans. If you can, you should listen
to it. It's so good. And I am being as
sarcastic as god. I don't even remember what we said.

(23:23):
But so we did one season of The Bachelor, and
then we saw posting in a Facebook group but they
were looking for comedic duos to talk about rich families
and dynasties, and we were like, oh my god, this
is us. We already do this for free, we already
do this. So we sent in an audition and thrust
as history. I love that. So I want to ask

(23:44):
you both this then, because I mean I can kind
of relate. I'm a lot newer in the podcasting space
because I've just been doing this for a couple of
years now, But what have you learned or what would
you have told yourself or what advice would you have
given yourself five six years ago when first started podcasting?
To get you to where you are today? Where to start? Becca?

(24:07):
So much knowledge up here? I think, I mean the
most important thing and I think it applies across the spectrum,
whether you're doing independent podcasts professionally produced podcasts, is to
do something you actually enjoy talking about because it's it
can get so tiring if you don't like your subject,
like it. I mean, it's exhausting, and it's your it

(24:29):
becomes your job, and even if you're not actually getting paid,
it's so kind of like a job. So I think
having passion and it focus less on like what is
everyone else going to want to hear or see? And
focus on like what what story do I want to tell?
And how do I want to tell it? Yeah. I
feel like if you're like authentically into what you're doing
and you are yourself, the listeners will come and they'll stay. Yeah,

(24:52):
and also, don't look at review I was gonna say, Hey,
anything learned or that I could tell people from a
show from a podcast from anything is don't don't read
the fine print. Yeah, it's dicey out there. Yeah, what
people think of you is none of your business. I

(25:14):
don't even love well and you both probably know this
and I've experienced this, But you can do anything. You
could do the most amazing thing or say the most
incredible thing on this planet, and you will get haters
and drolled on like crazy. You know, there's just really
no winning, especially being in the public eye and like
on social media and having such a platform that it's

(25:37):
just like none of our business, right exactly? Oh my gosh. Well,
so for anyone that enjoys pop culture, even the rich,
is such a must listen. And you both have done
what is it, twenty eight seasons now you're on the
twenty eighth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's absolutely incredible. Foes to

(25:57):
you both for sticking with it and loving with it.
It's such a fun thing to listen to. Um, what
has been your favorite seasons that you've done? I so,
for the longest time, my favorite was Versacchi, and it's
shifted twice now in the last two arcs it went
to Maryland and then it went to Dolly. So currently

(26:18):
my favorite is Dolly okay? Yeah, but I think that's
just because I love I've always been like, oh yeah,
Dolly's cool, but I've never been as huge of a
Dolly stand as Dolly stands are. But after like learning
about her, it's like, yeah, this woman slaps Yeah, wow,
you are so hip. I know. Um yeah, same as

(26:41):
a Reachia. I've always loved Versacchi. And then we recently
did Patty Hurst, which was I didn't know a lot
about and I love cults. I'm so interested in calls,
so that was like a nice mix of our show
and also like someone trapped in a cult. I was like, Okay,
I think my new favorite history action. Yeah. Yeah. I
like when we can kind of bring in some like
true crime and other stuff. It's fine. I love that.

(27:03):
So for listeners who haven't yet checked it out, is
there one also standout season that you'd be like, this
is the one you have to start with, the one
that you have to listen to. I'd say, don't start
at the beginning. No. It's so funny because I think
the most feedback I get about people's favorite seasons is

(27:23):
the first one, which is so weird to me because
if you listen to the first season versus now it's
a it sounds like a different show. Yeah, yeah, I'm sure,
But so I don't know what I feel like. Free
Brittany is probably the season that I don't want to
say like got us any notoriety, but it got us

(27:45):
to the listener account we're at now, Like that was
a very because it was during her conservatorship. It was
a very publicized thing. Yeah, and I think that's probably
the one. I think it has the most downloads, So
I feel like that's a safe one to start with.
What are some seasons that you've worked on that have
really surprised you or like where it took a turn

(28:05):
and you're like, holy crap, I did not expect this. Well,
this isn't really in the even the rich rich in
Daily Realm. But we did a mini series called in
God We Lust with Wondery also, and that one took
a turn for me because it started like about like
this religious university and just all the stuff that was
going on. But then it took like a dark turn

(28:27):
at the end and I was like whoa, Okay, a
lot of like sexual assault allegations things like that, and
I was like, Wow, this took a really big turn
for me. But in terms of like Even the Rich,
I'd say Paris Hilton probably surprised me the most, just
because we all have this view of Paris Hilton and
we learned so much about her doing the show, and like,

(28:48):
you know, she was in Provocanyon School when she was
a kid, and she was like abused. She was trapped there,
she couldn't get out, and it really changed my opinion
of her in my view of her one that I think, Yeah,
and also just she you know, has this persona about
her where people think she's just like this entitled heiress

(29:11):
and you know, maybe to an extent that exists, but
she also works really hard and I never realized like
how hard she worked. So I think that that's something
that came out in that arc. Interesting. Oh my gosh.
I feel like Even the Rich has something for everyone,
Like like anyone could take a listen and pick a

(29:32):
certain season and find it intriguing and learned something new,
which I absolutely love that. And so the most current season,
the twentieth season now, is the story of Elton John.
I actually just did an ad for this for our podcast,
yes before y'all joined. Yeah, but what is one of
the craziest things that you've learned about Elton because even

(29:52):
reading the ad, I didn't realize he had such a
dark upbringing and there was, you know, more skeletons in
his closet. So even knowing that, I'm like, oh my gosh,
I definitely need to give this a listen to now. Yeah, So,
what's the craziest thing that you've learned about him? In
the research? In this season? I realized the only thing

(30:13):
that I really knew about him was that he was
Reginald Dwight. Like that's like the only fact that I
can procure other than like the songs that he sings.
So I'm constantly just like, oh wow, oh shit, oh
my god. And I mean I've like I've always been
a big fan of his. I grew up and I
had a friend who was obsessed with him. But I
don't know, I guess his upbringing definitely as well as

(30:37):
that I didn't know he had been married to a woman. Yeah,
I had no idea that was something that happened in
his life. Yeah, I don't think I realized how dark
it was for him, like growing up and early in
his career, Like I just know him as like who
he is now just out and proud and love and

(30:57):
life and like making amazing songs. So really his whole story,
I think, yeah, it's been kind of surprising the whole way.
I'm like a resh, I'm like, oh, okay, yeah, I
think it'll I think it'll definitely throw not our listeners
because I'm not training with you, but your visteners for
a loop. And definitely. I mean so my fancy Thomas

(31:19):
is a huge Elton John fan, and so now knowing
a bit more, I'm like, oh damn, like he's been
through some shit. Yeah, And I also love too that
it's coming out at this point during Pride month. What
does that mean to you both to be telling his
story during this month. It's important because we pushed for
Elton for so long, like he was one on our
list where like can we please do Elton? Can we

(31:39):
please do Elton? And we were talking about wanting to
do like a queer icon during Pride and there was
some other names tossed around, and I was like, come on,
like this is time to do Elton. And it's like
he's just such an icon and he's the first male
that we've done in a while, Like a lot of
our stories have been about women. So yeah, yeah, it's

(32:02):
really nice and like very important I think to tell
his story right now. So it's it's amazing. I love it.
I love that. So is there a topic or somebody
that you hope to do that so on your bucket
list to come up in one of the upcoming seasons.
I have been begging for the Olds and Twins. I

(32:24):
I they are like I grew up with them. I
felt connected to them because I liked twins. That's the
only connection that I had with them. Um, which is enough,
I would think, but it hasn't happened yet, and I'm
holding out. I love that. Yeah, did you did you
grow up watching like old school Old School Mary Kay

(32:46):
and Nashley where they were like six or seven and
they did like their mystery. Yeah, The Adventures of Mary
Kay and nash Yeah. I saw that. I saw. I
know their theme song. Brooke questioned whether I'd see so
little time I have one season of it. Yeah, it
was like such a short lived sitcom. Oh I saw it. Um,

(33:10):
I think it Takes two was recently on Netflix. I'm
pretty sure it was. Yeah, I watched it. It was
like it was a few months ago, right, yeah, I
mean I probably watched it with I mean for sure
within the past year, I want to say, definitely. Oh
my gosh, I still love their style too, like even
you know how the nineties is kind of coming back,

(33:30):
y yeah, Like I just bought sunglasses like the Oval,
like bright red ones like what they used to wear
with the Oh yeah, I like and they would have
the like butterfly clips in their hair, which I tried
to emulate. It's very hard when you have curly hair.
Let me tell you, I haven't seen it. I haven't
seen any butterclips, butterlips, any butterfly clips lately, so I

(33:52):
don't think. I don't know if those are coming back.
But I did just buy some nineties style jeans. Was amazing.
Do they like the patches? They don't have patches, they're
just like kind of ripped. But they're like boyfriend jeans
that they're little loose from Abercrombie, which is very nineties.
Really saying seriously buying jeans from Abercrombie right now. But

(34:14):
they came highly recommended and they're amazing. Okay, So I
do want to get into because you said that you
first started up podcasting with the Bachelor franchise and covering that.
So were you fans of the show since the beginning
or when did you get involved in Bachelor Nation. I
think I'm trying to remember what my first season was,

(34:35):
not the beginning, but I know I was watching very
early on, like maybe season like three of The Bachelor,
and then I was watching it a lot. I think
Richia came in later. Yeah, I can't remember what my
first season was. I think it was it was when
I was working at the talent agency because they did
uh one of those called were you like like what

(34:58):
they do for sports? Oh? Yes, oh wows yeah sports?
Such a fan? I love them all. Um. But he
did a bracket and I was like, oh, this is
fun the bracket part um. And I was terrible because
I didn't know what I was doing. But I the

(35:18):
only yours is actually the only season I might have
seen two where I've watched. I watched like every single episode. Okay, so, um,
so from what you've seen, are there any iconic moments
that stick out to either of you from any of
the seasons? I mean, unfortunately, Becca, how do we answer

(35:41):
this question? I was so used to it, like that's
even how people refer to me as still to this
day is like the one who got broken up. So
well yeah, and like wait, wait, I was referring to
calling this guy pillow lips. That was the most memorable

(36:02):
was pillow lips? Ari? Everyone called him pillow lips for
some reason, did they? Yes? Unfortunately, and we yeah forgot.
Becca's reaction suggest that it's false advertising. Wait, I'm trying
to think. I mean, I've never rewatched that season, so
I could be the wrong understands. Yeah, but was it

(36:22):
was it the girls on his season or was it
when he was a contestant, like the five years prior.
I want to say it started when he was a contestant,
But the girls on his season, we're talking about it.
We're calling him pillow lips when he was a contestant.
We're like, look at this guy's lips, they're like pillows.

(36:43):
So but all I remember is that one of the
girls on Ari season she called him needle on the season.
And so when it was my season, he actually came
to the Maldives for like a thirty minute conversation that
never aired. But I just remember there's a bunch of
needlefish down below where I was staying and there was

(37:04):
like a glass bottom and you could just see them
floating around and the cameramen would just zonate on this.
My god, that's amazing. We're getting from this? Is I
need to get on this show so I can get
flown to Maldives for thirty minutes and then I'll just say, hey,
tack on a vacation to the end of it. Well,
or you could kill two birds with one stone, come

(37:25):
to paradise next, You're be part of vat nation, bartend
kickoff a date, whatever, and you'll do it all. Yeah.
I a bartenders sot out. She had her own company.
More about this. Yeah, so I was poor and I
was like, I gotta make money and so classic scenario. Yeah,

(37:49):
but the real struggle is do I want to work
for other people? Because that's a nightmare. Um. So I
was like, you know what, I'm going to start a
private event bartending company. And so Arisha worked for me.
My husband were events and we like really built the
business pretty big. We had like a very nice client
roster and we were doing events on weekends, a lot

(38:10):
of weddings, a lot of crazy parties. It was really fun. Yeah,
it was fun. Yeah, I feel like you are both
jacks of all trades. A jack of all trades like
valet where you met, to this private bartending job, to podcasting.
So did podcasts just kind of take over? Because because

(38:32):
you do have the two, I can imagine it takes
up most of your time. Now, yeah, podcasting, it would
have been real rough, Like I, I can't have magic
going through the pandemic. If I didn't have even the rich,
yes star like, I would have been oh who knows where? Yeah? Yeah,
I know. Besides like, besides going through the pandemic and

(38:54):
being like, Okay, when can I take a nap today?
What am I going to make for dinner? Oh? It's five,
I can have a margarita. I stop looking to the
weekly podcast just to keep me yea somewhat sane? Yeah,
I can. I can totally relate. Okay, So I need
to ask you both this because it's big news in
the world of Bachelor Nation because we've never had two leads. Yeah,

(39:16):
seems at the same time. So how do you both
feel about that? Are you excited about seeing the two women?
I am? I? Yeah, I'm I'm mostly excited because I'm
always excited when I think an ideas original because I
feel like there's so few in this day and age,
and I was like, why is no one thought to
make it too? Like that seems genius to me. Yeah,

(39:37):
I mean I feel like the Bachelor needs it a
shake up. Yeah, so I think this will be like
a fun shake up. I mean, I'm I love Paradise
like Bachelor in Paradise is my jam, Like it is
to me the superior Bachelor show because it's just so
good and it's like it really is. Seeing multiple people
look for love I think is more interesting. So I

(39:59):
think it's going to be more exciting to have two bachelorettes. Yeah. Well,
and yeah, like to play into Paradise. There's so many
different love stories, there's so many different bits of drama
that I think it just hooks viewers better. You know,
if you just have one or two storylines week after week,
it kind of gets repetitive and bold. And so I
think this season will definitely deliver more than we've ever seen.

(40:23):
I was actually asked this question the other day, and
I want to ask you both it now too, because
I think it was a good one. So obviously we'll
have two baud Shurettes. How would you feel about having
two male leads at the same time. For some reason,
I feel like it would be more dramatic. I don't
know why, but it's probably well women fighting over two

(40:44):
men now, not just why. I feel like a group
of female contestants brings better drama than a group of
male contestants. Male contestant drama isn't as interesting to me. Yeah,
like I don't shorter live it is. With women, it's like, well,
like I'm really into this person, and oh I might

(41:07):
have a boyfriend. It just feels like the drama is
like I'm more drawn out and more I'm more engaged
with it than I am with the men. They really
need to up their game, honestly, they stan the show. Well,
So have you noticed a shift in recent seasons where
the drama has been more extreme, more catty, just more

(41:30):
dramatic in general to make for a better TV. Yeah,
it does feel like that, like especially, and I hate
that it's like the women because like, of course, like
we're just catty or we're just more talented. Well that's
what I was gonna say. I was actually going to
compliment the women, like I feel like we're smarter and
more cunning. That comes out more. It's like a group

(41:52):
of women. So I just think, I don't know, it's
just better drama for some reason. And yeah, I do
feel like it's been upped a little in the last
couple of seasons. I don't know what that's about. Definitely
some of the stuff that is said and done, I'm like, what,
how is this even a thing? Or who thinks of this?
It just I you know, I feel like I can't
be shocked being in the world of reality television anymore

(42:14):
because we see and hear so much. But I'm still
shocked season by season. Have you either of you seen
the cast come out for the new season of The
of the Men. Yes, I haven't looked through it fully,
but I keep seeing all the social media posts about
the man. I need to look at that better. Do
you have any initial thoughts anyone that caught your eye? No,

(42:40):
we need the drama for somebody to stand out. I
don't bother to learn their names until halfway through this season. Oh,
I'm like, hometowns. Give me four people that. Yeah, I'm
honestly surprised. I'm surprised that to female bachelottes aren't both
named Lauren like that seemed like a lost opportunity. They've

(43:03):
done it. They've found two people not named Lauren. Finally, Hudo,
you don't need last name, last name initials with Susan.
If you could see a celebrity on the show as
either a lead or contestant, who would it be. I
feel like, although I guess she's engaged now, but I
feel like Lizzo would be such a fun bachelorette. Engaged. Yeah,

(43:27):
I guess she's engaged or something. I don't think. Maybe
she had relationships without telling you. She was on a
red carpet and she had like this ring on her
ring finger. Maybe maybe it's a promise ring. I don't know.
But there's some guy she's been Is it somebody from
the Minnesota Vikings? Oh my god, I wish better be

(43:47):
otherwise I don't. I don't support this otherwise redo red. Yeah,
that's like my one thing because I'm from Minnesota. I'm like,
Lizzo knows Minnesota. Put on the man. My husband lived
in Minnesota for really years. Yeah. Area Apple Valley. Oh yeah,

(44:08):
that's where my own uncle lives. Apple Valley sounds so
kind and just quaint. Yeah, fall well, Becca, didn't you
take someone apple picking. I did, yes, he who shall
not be named. Um, I don't remember it was your
season or it was my ye, and there was I

(44:28):
mean because we went to Minnesota in November. I was like, Mmm,
what can we do here? And it was definitely not
the right time to go because I don't even think
there was apples on the trees. They were all dead
and it was crazy and I was like, this is
the worst idea ever, Becca, But um, yes, but they
made the most of it. We had whiskey in the
apple cider, which was great. So well, I think I

(44:48):
saw a pa in the background just hanging up fake
apples in the tree. Probably. I love that though. That's
like such a fall. I mean obviously not was snow,
but that's such a fall activity. Yeah, it's like so cute.
It was a month prior it would have been perfect
and beautiful and the apples would have actually been ripe
and edible. But I mean it worked. It worked either Yeah.

(45:11):
I mean you know, it's foreshadowing for that relationship. So yeah,
I go exactly. Um, Way, Deresia, who would be your
dream celebrity cast or lead? Well, I'm I'm really on
a Chris Evans kick right now. So only if I
get to be a contestant that gets put up to win.

(45:32):
So I have to have some kind of contract, did
Neil Lane ring at the end, Yeah, Yeah, I have
been trying to. I've been commenting. I was telling Bark,
I'm commenting on his posts as if I'm already dating him.
And I have now four messages from Chris Evans, four
different accounts. Obviously they're all him saying hello, So I

(45:53):
don't know what he's messaged you back. Well, people that
are that think they're him. So I'm like one step
closer fake accounts, but yet I don't want I want
it like our first message needs to be cute because
it's going to be referenced at our wedding obviously. Okay, Um,

(46:15):
so I'm thinking on that right now, and just you know,
work working things out with these fake for sevens, getting
all the kinks out before really cute that you think
the first thing that will be mentioned is your first
DM and not that you've been commenting like a crazy
person on his post as if you're a couple. Well,
I want to ask you this so because this is
a Bachelor podcast and you are fans um and I

(46:38):
will get into a rosen thorn with you both, but
put me in the hot seat, And is there anything
that you want to ask me? And I wish Michelle
is here too to answer, But is there anything that
you want to ask or know that you've just been
dying to find out, whether it's bachelor related as a contestant,
as a lead, or from paradise? How much time do

(46:59):
we have? Um? Okay, first question, why aren't you guys
allowed to eat the food? I knew. I was like,
it's going to be with that, that's like continuity. Well,
so that's actually like the number one question we always get.
So when you're filming, the camera crew and team will

(47:20):
go and set up all of everything early before the
couple of ring gets to wherever they're filming, and so
they'll grab still shots of the table with the food
and they really don't want you to move it around.
So usually before each date they'll have I mean like
because we're getting ready in the rooms, they'll have food
for you so you can order come service if you're
at a hotel, whatever. So they'll always feed us beforehand.

(47:42):
But yeah, on the actual dates, it's like like a
full fish ballet with the eyeballs and the mouth still there,
and it just like is sitting there to look farm.
There was one time I think I ate food on
a date and it's because it was mac and cheese
and it didn't look half bad. But yeah, otherwise they'll
feed you before and after. I mean, we're constantly eating

(48:05):
on the show. We really are. It's just those like
plated meals rather than the pretty shots. And that's what
I figured. But I was like, you know what, I
got back a right here in front of me. Yeah. Yeah,
I really wish they would get close ups of them
sometimes because like before they look lovely, it's like this
full meal with all the sides and everything, but then
close up you're like, don't, yeah, don't don't. Yeah, all right, yeah,

(48:29):
what about you, Grisham, So we can ask anything, right, yes,
I think so this is not even an exciting question,
but I feel like it's become more and more obvious
that people are going on this show less about finding
love and more about getting that follow account up, because
that's really our only way to judge anybody's worth in

(48:52):
this world now. So I want to know what was
your reason? Were you genuinely on this show to find
love or was it mostly if I love a little
bit to get into wherever you wanted to get into.
That's a good question. So when I went on, it
was in twenty seventeen, and so that was before TikTok,

(49:16):
Like I barely knew how to use Twitter. I believe
when I left for The Bachelor, I probably had like
four hundred and thirty eight followers and so, and it
was before and I think it was like at the
time when like brand deals and collaborations, like we're starting,
so we really didn't know where it was going to go.
So when I personally left, I was in the mindframe

(49:39):
of I had been like working at my same job
for five six years. I was over it. I wanted
to change, and I was like I'm single now, why not?
Like I was more so for the adventure, like I
really actually was most extended to travel, like that's what
I wanted to do. Yeah, And so I left thinking
I was going to be gone for two weeks, being

(49:59):
like I'm going to t travel, I'll hopefully meet some
cool girls and you know, have some l seen friendships yea,
and so um that's kind of my mindset. And then
it wasn't because I went straight from basically straight from
ri season as a contestant to right after filming my season,
And it wasn't until I got off of my season

(50:20):
where there was like all of the extra fun stuff
on social media, like brand collaborations, and I was getting
able to get paid off of that, And so that
to me at that point was just an added bonus
because I was like, oh, this is cool. I didn't
know what to expect. I just thought I was going
to go back to my old nine to five PR job.
But yeah, when I went on, I was so naive,

(50:41):
so naive, like, yeah, yeah, you have no idea what
you're gonna get. But don't you think it's kind of
better that way where it's like you're just excited about
it to see what would happen if it fails or
goes to ship. You know, at least you gave it
a shot. Yeah, so that's why I kind of like that,
you know, I kind of like that I went in

(51:02):
back in twenty seventeen where it wasn't a major thing
at that point. Yeah, I also kind of feel like, granted,
you're literally the only person on this show that I've
ever talked to, but I feel like the ones that
do make it far and have the kind of success
that you've had came in with that mindset, Like it
wasn't like I just feel like because I think that's
a really healthy mindset, because it's I think it's kind

(51:24):
of naive to be like I'm going to meet the
love of my life, like maybe, but like I'm doing
this because I want to have fun and maybe like
see some cool places, make some friends. I feel like
that's the healthiest way to approach this kind of show. Yeah, yeah, well, yeah, exactly.
There's so many unknowns. You have no idea what a

(51:44):
relationship with the lead is going to be, like any
relationship with cast members will be like, and so you
kind of like just go up with no expectations' That's
like what I tell people going in Paradise, like, don't
have a set plan. Don't be like I'm going to
find a partner or I'm gonna leave with the ring
on my finger, or I'm gonna build my following with

(52:05):
one hundred thousand extra followers. Like we've seen that with
people in the past, and it's truly never worked out
for anyone in that part. If that's the case, Yeah,
so yeah, do you feel Becca like it was easier
to be a contestant the Bachelorette or on Paradise Paradise
one thousand, Well, and actually as a contestant on the Bachelor,
because again I had no idea what I was in for.

(52:27):
I was like, hopefully I'll have some free food, meet
some cole people, and travel. You only you stick around
long enough to like make it some more fun. Yeah,
but and so that part was so much fun. But
Paradise I kind of had a better understanding of just
how things were filmed. And but Paradise already knew some
of my friends that were going to be down there too,

(52:48):
so I already want to be like, it's gonna be
a fun summer. I had zero expectations because I kept
saying no to it. So I was like, well, I'm
you know, so I'm going to go back to my
life that I love after this. But Paradise was such
a black It's like summer camp for adult switch alcoholic
and like hot people to book it on the beach. Yeah,
they need to make that like not just for the

(53:09):
thirty people in the Bachelor Nation, open for everyone, like
a Norm's version. Yeah, wis they I wish they would
have more people, I say on the beach because it's
so much fun. It's just yeah, yeah, it's just like
a mumflong vacation. It's yeah. It was as blast all
write you two. It has been so much fun. But

(53:30):
before we let you both go, we do this with
all of our listeners all sorry, all of our guests
where we asked them the rose and thorn of their week,
so highlight favorite moment and then low light or least
favorite worst moment of the week. So all started to
make it easy. Okay, I'm gonna start with my thorn.
I'm gonna say, oh shit, I don't even know if

(53:51):
I have a thorn. To be honest, um brag, um
a thorn would be wow. I like really need to
put some thought into this. Um, I'm just gonna give
a rose this week, and I mean, so many fun
things have happened, but Thomas and I celebrated our one

(54:15):
year anniversary and his dirty thirty birthday. So that's it's
just been a good week. I don't even want to
taint it with a thing. You know we covered on
an episode of Richard Daily Engagement. Oh yeah, yeah yeah.

(54:35):
So wait, what were your thoughts. I mean, we loved it. Yeah,
we were all so here for it. And I even said,
I think on the show, like I loved you guys
in Paradise. I was like, we finally got to see
a different side of Thomas, and I'm here for it. Yeah.

And since I god forbid, I say the same thing
as Brooke. This is absolutely a rose. But my other
rose is despite our one friend leaving us yesterday, our
original producer on Even the Rich when we first started,
the guy who actually technically i'll say discovered us. He
was the one who listened to the audition tapes. He
we still talked to him and he came over and

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
