Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, everyone, welcome back to Bachler Happy Hour.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm Joe and I'm Serena.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
We are here today with another episode of Battery Happy Hour.
This is a special episode. We have three segments we
are going to be doing Segment one, Hot Takes. We're
gonna read out all the Bachelor hot takes, Segment two,
Who's Who, Segment three spicy Questions. Neither Serena and I
(00:26):
have gone through any of these, so it's gonna be
brand new to us too. That's the way we like
do things. Keep it fun, keep it fresh, keep it alive.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Love that Yes, great, great start, great energy.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Thank you, thank you. Anything you want to get off
your chest before we get started.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
No, I'm ready. Let's dive into it.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Okay, all right, I have to get a haircut today.
I know it's still on the top of my mind.
I know I never get out.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Why you asked me what I have coming up so
that you can talk about your haircut?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, you know what. It's a four thirty PM haircut
and usually I get my haircuts at nine or ten am,
so it's throwing me way off and anxiety is really
ramped up. Now.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Guys, if you're wondering what Jo thinking about this whole podcast.
It's just his upcoming.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Haircut segment one Hot Takes. The best Bachelor season to
date is Juan Pablos.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Are we saying if we agree or disagree?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I mean, yeah, do we agree or disagree?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I disagree.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I've never watched Wan Pablo season, so I disagree too.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I did watch Wompolo season. Now. It's been a few
years since this season, so I wouldn't say my memory
of it is fantastic. But I think what people love
about wanm Pablo season is it's one of the only
or not the only. But I would say it was
the first Bachelor season where they made the lead the villain.
(01:47):
They said, at this guy, we don't like him, and
we're gonna let everyone else hate him too, And that
was like a fun twist for sure. And there was
a lot of like iconic moments and a lot of
people that came from that season. But to me, it
doesn't stand out. Maybe that's just because it's been so
long since I watched it, but I don't think I
(02:08):
would name it one of the best.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
What would you what would be yours?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
My best season?
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah? Quick? We got a lot of these, you know, what.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Like, maybe this is a hot take, but like Clayton season,
me too.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah, there was no better Batchel than Clayton.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Like, there's so many new iconic moments came out of
that season, so many unpredictable things. He made, so many
really controversial choices. I mean, Susie, Gabby, and Rachel his
top three were all incredible in their own right and
have like really amazing moments from that season.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Here. Bottom line is. Bottom line is you can think
what you want about Clayton. He's it was never boring
and that's that's just so that's really important. Okay, Barb
was right all along about Peter and Madison. Well, well
I think that's not really a hot take because I
(03:03):
think that's factual.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Like we have evidence to prove that that take is correct.
It's not really an opinion, it's a fact.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah. I don't I've met Madison prohe at once. She
was super sweet, nice. I'm friends with Pete, So I
don't know Madison enough to know if that would have
ever made sense, but knowing the content she puts out,
and yeah, actually I can't.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Even believe you're debating this.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, I've.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Never met Maddie Prue. I have met Peter a bunch
of times. From what I know about Maddie and what
I know about Peter, those are two of the most
incompatible people I could think of in my entire life.
And maybe Barb's delivery of that information was very controversial
and could have been done differently. Sure, but if her
statement being that like this is not going to work out,
(04:00):
I don't even know why we're entertaining it is the
statement we're debating. One hundred percent, she was right, and
I am back in her on that.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, it's not a hot take.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Now, I don't know if I would consider that a
hot take.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Rachel Rekia should have had her own Bachelorette season.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
I don't know if I agree or disagree with that.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
I I I don't because I just feel like like
I do. I think Rachel could have one hundred percent
had a season on her own.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yes, I agree, she could have done it and would
have been successful. She would have been a great lead
on her own. She didn't need another person. But I
think part of what makes Rachel and Gabby so interesting
and exciting from a TV perspective is the fact that
they were Bacherettes together and that was the first and
only time they've ever did that, and I think that
(04:56):
adds to the lure and their story today.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, and it was how they navigated it. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
But do I think she like could have done her
own season and still could do her own season and
absolutely crush it? Yes? I do.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I think if we look I think if if if
you're able to go back in time, if Rachel was
able to go back in time and they gave her
the option, do you do you want to do this again?
Do you want to do this with Gabby? Or do
you want to do it yourself? I would tell her,
probably to do it herself.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, do it yourself, do yourself.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
I think that coming off of Clayton season, she could
have carried her own season. But I think that her
and Gabby together was a really exciting package. Do you
think today, after doing all of the seasons she's done,
she could be a good lead still.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I think if she couldn't, then there's something then then
there's something wrong with her.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Well yeah, I mean she's already done it, so she
couldn't do it again.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
She's done it, She's done the show.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
She's donels she did yeah, too hot to handle.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, she could definitely do it.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I mean she's one of the more experienced reality television
people in this franchise at this point.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Oh yeah, Nick Vayelle should have never been allowed to
join Caitlin's season mid Way. No, I disagree with that.
I think he should have because we're people still talk
about that, like within the Bachelor Nation verse. That's like
people still talk about it.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
So yeah, yeah, do I think if we're going like
by the book, should he have been allowed? Probably not.
I mean, like he'd kind of been talking to her
before and he jumped in midway. But I don't care.
I'm okay that they did it, and I have no
problem with it, and I would tell them to do
it again if they had the chance.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
The truth is, when this franchise goes by the Bachelor
playbook of like how everything supposed to go in a
perfect world, and they do that like season after season,
that's when people usually fall off and it gets somewhat boring.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah, this show is fun and exciting when either production
or the lead or a castmate is willing to bend
the rules to shake things up, and that doesn't always
pay off in a big way. But when it does,
it really does.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah. Okay, group dates should be four to five people, Max,
I disagree?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
You agree?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, Really why I don't like watching a lot of
people on my TV.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
You've never been on a group date though, I've.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Never been on a group day. That's true, But I'm
just saying, like, it's just sometimes it's just too many.
It's like that show Squid Gain and there's all those competitions. Yeah,
like I can't watch it's just eight hundred contestants.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I get that, And especially in the beginning, you're like,
I don't even know who I should focus my attention
on because there's twelve people on this date. But if
you reduce it to four to five people, there's going
to be a lot of people every week in the
beginning that don't get dates because the lead's not going
to have time to go on six different dates.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Well yeah, and there's a lot of people that are
on group dates at the beginning that I'm like, this
person's just it's a waste of time because it leads
not even into them.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, fantasy suites should happen way earlier so they can
have those off camera conversations earlier on to see if
they are a good match.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Disagree, Yeah, no, way, no, no. Well, also, like this
is a TV show, Like you don't get off camera
privileges until you've made it almost all the way to
the end where it's like, all right, it's necessary for
the potential success of a relationship and for these two
people to be willing to get engaged. But we're not
giving off camera time until it's absolutely necessary.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Tia Booth should have been the bachelorette, agree, just as
much as I should have been the bachelor. And we
we're from the same Me and t are from the
same era you are, So those are the two massive
miss opportunities by the friend.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Tia would have been a great bachelor. I actually it's
still very surprising to me that she never ended up
being the Bouchelorette.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Mel should have been replaced as the golden Bachelor.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I disagree.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
I disagree to a it worked, He's in a successful
looks to be a successful relationship. If anything, I think
they should have been less safe with Mel, because it
just everything about Mel in the way he appeared seemed
extremely safe after what he had said, and I think
(09:29):
they should have been like, all right, let's let's go.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I think so too. I think that he went on
a podcast he said something a little careless. There was
huge controversy around it, which I mean is kind of
sometimes not the worst thing in the world. I mean,
it gathered a lot of hype and attention surrounding the season,
and then I feel like they pulled the reins on
him so tight for the entire season, and it's like,
(09:54):
let the man be free, you know. I think that
people make mistakes. Public figures make mistake, people say stupid
things every single day. I don't think we needed to like,
I mean, look like within reason, but this comment, I
don't think we needed to fire him over it.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, And also like, if you're looking for a perfect
individual to look up to, you probably shouldn't look at
people that are going reality TV.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Well, you're not going to find a perfect person to
look up to. People that are aiming to do that
are going to fail every single time. He's also he
ended up happily committed to Peg, who is not forty,
So it all worked out.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Bachelor Pad should replace Bachelor in Paradise. I'm gonna say
I disagree. A it's where we're from and b I
think bachelor Pad worked when it worked because there was
like no holds bar like it was you had people
(11:04):
know what like people were no holds bar. Isn't that
that's the same no holds bar?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, right, isn't that a same Maybe I've never heard
of it.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Nothing's off nothing was off the table. Okay when bachelor
Pad was being.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Well, there was no social media. The biggest thing they
had to deal with was like tabloids and it was
just a very very different time in the world. I
don't think what was created on Baucher Pad could ever
be recreated now today. And I think that, you know,
Bacherlor and Paradise for us is very nostalgic. There were
biased but it would make me sad if they cut
(11:39):
Bacher in Paradise for replaced with Bachler Pad. And I
also just don't know if it would. I think bacher
has a great concept and I think that they can definitely.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Well they they already did. I mean they pulled some
for this season A Veteran Paradise, but yeah, you're I
don't I this season A Veteran Paradise should have been
on a beach, like they're on a beach with they're
off a beach, like, put me back on a beach.
They let the contestants live on a beach. No going
back to the hotel room.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
No, I don't want to, but I didn't mind because
my favorite part of Parrot, I think conversations.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, but they could still have those in the treehouses
and they could. They just never they chose never to
do that. That's true. Yeah, Daisy should have let Kelsey
find out it was her instead of telling her. I
don't really remember that situation, if I'm gonna be quite honest.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
So remember Daisy was like, I'm pretty sure it's not me,
and she went and told Kelsey like, I think it's you,
it's not me. And then they rode in that van
together and then Daisy went out broke up with Joey left,
and then Kelsey went out and they proposed.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yeah, is that that's what happens?
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, And look, do I agree with that statement. Yes,
But I really like Daisy, so it's hard for me
to disagree because I think she had nothing but the
purest of intentions. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I think those situations. That's what makes the show interesting
is when people do something that they probably shouldn't have done.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, like so probably wasn't something she needed to do.
But I think it's okay.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
The Bachelorette is more entertaining than the Bachelor.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Disagree, disagree. I just want to see a lot of
girly pops.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yeah, like, because here's the truth, and you see this,
you even you see this with Golden where I think
it gets highlighted more. But when a season's boring the guys,
when the guys are boring, they're boring TV. When the
(13:44):
women are boring TV, they're not as boring. And that's
why I choose that.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
I agree, right, yep.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
If a contestant is an aspiring musician, it's immediate ground
for elimination. I just think it depends how the person's
handling that.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah, I think it is hard because I don't know
if that's tough. I think it's it depends on the person.
I think you got to take that as a case
by case situation.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
I mean, what if, like I'm trying to be a violentist,
then the opera.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, like I think that's okay. Yeah, you know, but
if you're trying.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
To be like a country singer, a country.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Singer, and if you've been trying to be a country
singer for twenty years and you live in Nashville and
like that is your job in a way, I think
that's one thing. If it's like, oh, I just quit
my job in finance and I'm an aspiring country singer
and now I'm on the Bachelor, I think that can
be a little concerning for the potential longevity of the
relationship post.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Show, unless you're really talented. You know what, if you
go on this show, because there's a lot of fucking
aspiring musicians go on this show and I'm just like,
you're fine, You're fine, You're you're better than I am.
You are better than most people at a karaoke bar.
You're probably average in a bar in Nashville, and you're fine,
(15:15):
but you're not great. If you're fucking.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Great, if you're you know, Mariah Carrey, if.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
You're Mariah Carey and you go on the show and yeah, then.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
The lead is going to be looking at them being like,
I'm hitching my wagon, go for it. We're gonna be
at the Grammys in two years.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
But if you're gonna go on and you're an artist
of any sorts on this show and you're just starting.
You better be fucking amazing. Otherwise, Yeah, you're probably going
home because you're.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Feeling that's a hot take. It's fine if you're really talented,
but if you're not, it's not fine because.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
If you're not, you're not gonna make it.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Looking at me like I'm a meal ticket, like what's
going on here? But I will say I think people
can come on this show for incentive for their career
and still fall in love genuinely.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah, Chris Bukowski is the all time veatri Nation legend.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
I think, yes, But I think it's hard, Like he
would probably hit up a mount rushmore of non leads,
do you know what I mean? Like, if we're putting
together aunt rushmore of best contestants that were never leads,
he would definitely be on it. But Chris has been
off camera for like ten years now, you know what
I mean. So there's a lot of people that have
joined the viewership of this franchise that probably wouldn't know
(16:32):
who he is. He was part of a very like
concentrated ten year period in the franchise, but iconic in
his period for sure.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Yeah, I didn't watch when he came back on Paradise
for I think.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
That's maybe the only season of his I did watch.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
And I don't think he was very Chris Bukowski asque
on that season.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
No, I don't remember him being like the Chris we
know in Love, but he did get engaged, and that's
very Chris Pokowski of him. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Segment two, Who's who? Okay, don't even know what we're
doing here. Whose relationship storyline do you think is the
most like yours?
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Maybe Hannah and Dylan. No, not even I'm just trying
to think of other Paradise couples that got engaged on
the show.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I would say the most like ours. I would say,
I'm gonna go Paradise. Yeah, Paradise couples the most like us,
the most like our story. I guess I don't know.
(17:46):
I think I think like, I don't know. I would
go like maybe like maybe Jadeen Tanner. Yeah, but I
don't even. I didn't see their season, so I just
don't see.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Okay, maybe we don't have enough knowledge off the top
of our head to answer that question. I think, I mean,
I think Hannah and Dylan, but I mean I think
that they fall into a category that we also fall into,
which is a pretty generic paradise love story of like
(18:21):
a little you know, someone goes on another date, situation
comes back.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
But ours is different because we had.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
A third party involved.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yeah yeah, so unless someone had that.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Which I don't think anyone did. Yeah, all right, no
one's like us.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
That's right, Serena. That's what I was trying to get to.
That was my point, Serena. Out of all the batriination,
out of all the vetriination, who do you think is
most like Joe?
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Oh that's so hard. I really don't know. I don't know.
Who do you think is most like you? I mean
Nick comes to mind a little bit. I think you
and Nick have some similarities. I mean definitely.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I mean, it's what you think, it's not what I think.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I don't I don't know.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
This is a co hosted podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, it's it's it's phrased, Serena. Out of all the
best nation, who do you think Joe is most like?
I know, that's a hard one.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
You and Natasha are both ares, You're like the most
different people, but you also are in like some ways,
are very similar.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yeah, I don't know. That's a hard one. I mean
that the same question is for me, who do I
think you're most like? And I would have like, Okay,
do we want to do this off of people that
we know so like we we're friends with Nick? Or
do we want to do this to where like the
past few seasons came across the who do you think
(19:47):
came across the most like you? Or who are you
most if you had to pick like somebody that when
you watch them, yeah, it reminded you of me.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Those are just hard in different ways, Like.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
And that's gonna be around podcasts because I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
The comparison game is so hard, Like I don't know
how people ever like sit around and compare themselves to others,
Like everyone is so different from one another.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Okay, well we'll move on because I feel like this
is gonna take us there.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, like this is question making my hands swell, let's
keep it going.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Whose proposal story is your favorite out of the entire franchise? U?
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Sta uh.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yeah, fuck it? Who is your favorite Bachelor of all time?
Clayton clay Is. Clayton's was the best. He He just did.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Things that not one other person would ever even consider doing.
And I appreciate that and I do feel bad for
the women that were on his season because I think
that they suffered in various ways. But he just gave
us so many wild moments, and it gave them the
opportunity to give us so many wild moments.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I also enjoy talking to him when he comes on
this When he comes on this podcast, I enjoyed talking
like he's he's got a lot to say.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
He does have a lot to say. I also Zach Shallcross.
I think it's a bad rep for being a boring bachelor,
but I like him too. I think he's Him and
Katie are great and he's like cool to hang out with.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
I don't think Zach was boring. I think people are boring.
That's how I take bitches. Who do you think could
have made the greatest Bachelorette if she was given the role?
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Victoria Fuller?
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I agree, Yeah, I do agree with her for sure,
and I think bachelor.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Myself stop buying for the role.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Okay, who I probably would have been the worst?
Speaker 2 (21:59):
You would have been good. You would have been very good.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Who do you think is an overrated fan account fan favorite? Oh?
Who do you think is an overrated fan favorite? Grocery
store Joe No you're not over Who do I think
was an overrated fan favorite? I mean that's hard because
now we're gonna go take a fan favorite and be like,
this person's actually not great.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
No, yeah, we're not answering that. I'm not gonna be like, hey,
this person that everyone thinks is great behind the scenes
like they kind of suck.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yeah. Who was a villain in your eyes that flew
under the radar their season?
Speaker 2 (22:35):
No, I'm not answering that either.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Uh uh, Yeah, that's a tough one. Who do you
think could have been a star on Paradise this past
season if they were cast?
Speaker 2 (22:49):
You know who wasn't cast that I was surprised about,
and I know that she's a much more mellow personality,
but I enjoy her would be Rachel Nons.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, I'm surprised she wasn't cast.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Her and her and Lea are really good friends, Like
it would have been fun to see their friendship, especially
because Lea was kind of going through her single girl
journey on the show. Yeah, she was one of the
ones that I remember being like, I'm really surprised she's
not down here.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, I don't really, I don't really know. I think
maybe that guy Brett that went home Night one. I
would have liked to since Yeah, Spicy.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Questions Segment three, our third and final segment of the episode.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Okay, what's something better? Her fans need to hear.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Oh my God so much.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
It's just a show.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Just stop stop leaving hate comments, guys like you're not
going to You're not going to stop, and that's you know,
your prerogative to do so. But like some of them,
you could text your mom, some of them you could
text your best friend, and some of you should probably
delete social media.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Do you currently have beef with anyone in batriation?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I don't think so, not that I know of.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
No what tea can you spill from your respective seasons?
Speaker 2 (24:17):
I don't know. I don't know if I can share anything.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I don't. I'm trying to think, are like my first season, Well,
I mean Clayton or Colton was on my season of
Vetterman Paradise, and he's gay.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
I don't think you're spilling anything there. He's married to
a man.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
That's not that's not news anymore our season of Paradise.
Any I thought our season of Paradise is pretty great
because I feel like everything was kind of out there.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
You and I season or the one you run before
me our season. Yeah. I actually think a lot of
the tea that typically would be capt behind the scenes
made it onto the beach our season Paradise. I don't
know if there is much actually to spell from that.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
What predictions do you have for Taylor Frankie Paul's season, Well,
I definitely predict that her. I mean, I watched season
three of Housewives and Mormon Wives and Secrets Secret Wives
and Mormon Wives.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Great show, so good it is, it is so good.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Glad I watched it, and I my prediction is her
guy on season three, what's his name?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Dakota.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Dakota definitely definitely tries to make a comeback here, do
you think, Yeah, I don't know if he's definitely making
an appearance.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Do you think he's a Night one Limo entrance.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I don't think he's a Night one Limo entrance. No.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
I can see them bring him to like host a
date with her, like bringing him in as like a
tailor expert to like host one of the dates, and
then like having her and him have a little chat.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I think he comes in and he's like, listen, what
why don't we try to make this work.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Maybe I will accept any appearance from him on that show.
I'm also curious to see like the women making appearances
on the show. I haven't seen or heard anything about
the potential of them going on it, and I feel
like those girls are always on TikTok.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Yeah, I would think they will.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, I can't imagine they won't. I love that my
worlds are colliding.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
What's the best and worst thing about the rise of
social media in terms of the franchise, example being able
to see more of your faves, but cloud trait Chasers
join the show.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
I actually don't think cloud Chasers joining the show is
something that's tied to the rise of social media. I
think that it's always been there. I think that it
has just taken on a new shape with the rise
of social media. I think that the biggest downfall is
people's or as a contestant when they do something that
(27:05):
is deemed wrong and again, like, sometimes it is wrong,
but there's times where I kind of want to see
someone like double down a little bit and be like, hey,
like this is why I made this choice or this
is why I said this thing. And people sometimes to
come to apology so much easier and faster than as
(27:26):
a viewer, I want them to like sometimes yes, you
need to like not double down, you need to take
you on ability and to apologize. But sometimes you want
to see someone like be like this is who I am,
and like defend their choice a little bit. And I
think we don't see that as much because people are
so scared of being eaten apart on the internet.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah, I think that's that would be I agree with you,
that would be my thing too. I think people are
because of social media, and because they care about how
they come across on social media, they approach the show
from a more hesitant Yeah, I'm not as willing to
(28:03):
like do this or put myself out there as much
because of how I don't want any backlash on social media.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
And I think being the quote unquote villain before social
media had like benefits and perks to it that people
were almost like willing to do it, whereas now I
feel like the monetization of social media has played such
a role that you want to be liked more so
than just like your own ego wanting to be liked,
but also for the financial opportunity that can come with
being a fan favorite. Whereas the villains don't always see
(28:34):
that same return.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Well, I would say, like so I would say like
early to you know, late two thousands, like early like
two thousand, like twelve thirteen, like the villain you know,
you took, you took like a go looking guy who
was the villain and he went to like the bar
(28:56):
and he's crushing it. Yeah, you know, like it's definitely changed.
I think like he is getting attention. I think I
think people used to love the villains, where now it's like,
if you're a villain, you're we fucking hate you, and
we're people love.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
To hate the villains. It was fun. It's not as
fun anymore.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Okay. And then last but not least, last question that
we're wrapping it, what percentage of people do you think
are coming on the show just for Clout.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
I think it's less than what people think.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
I would say, Well, I think just.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
For Cloud meaning like you're not interested in a relationship,
You're not interested in the experience, you're not interested in
making friends. You're literally just there because you want attention
social Well.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Okay, but I want to I want to throw this
in there is is Clout also like oh this will
give me a good chance to date after the show,
like it'll be easier.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
I don't think that's clout, I do, really that's the definition. Yeah, No,
I guess you're.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Right, and I think in that I think in that sense,
I think I would say ninety percent.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
WHOA you think ninety percent of people?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Yeah, because I just think realistically, if you get cast out,
I was going to.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Say, like fifteen to twenty Max.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I think there's only a select few every season that
are going on this show with the hopes and dreams
of marrying the lead.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Okay, but what about the alternative of like if I
end up with them, great, but like this is just
a really cool experience and like a once in a lifetime.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Exp that I put that, I put that in the
I don't know if that would The right reasons of
this show supposedly the right reasons, so anything else is
clout in my opinion. But the right reason is to
go on the show because you want to be engaged
and get married. And I think ninety percent of the
(30:58):
people that come on agree before they even know who
the fucking lead is, so like you have to be there.
There's Yeah, I think ninety percent of them are like, Okay,
I'm either I'm coming on for the experience, I'm coming
on because what could happen after I'm coming on? Because yeah,
like I'm sick of being single, and I think after
(31:20):
the show, like I have a way better chance of
dating someone that I and I have more options now. Yeah,
I think like the percentage of people that go on
the show to make a career out of social media, podcasting,
influencing whatever, I say, that's a lot lower. Yeah, I
would think that's probably like I would say that's probably
like no, no way time. I would say that's like
(31:43):
around like the like forty percent. Yeah, WHOA think about
it realistically? How many people can go can't commit to
leaving their career Because we're now in our mid twenties,
late that mid twenties, early thirties, mid thirties can leave
(32:06):
their career for they have to be able to leave
for two and a half months. How many people could
with can do that? Either you have to have a
very flexible schedule, yeah, or you have to already have
had some money. But it's hard. Most people have to
Most people have to like either quit their job or
(32:29):
be willing to get fired.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
No, Yeah, that's a good point.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
I know, yeah, have a lot of them. Okay, that
is that's an episode. Thank you guys so much for
tuning into Battery Happy. I make sure you're not want
to subscribe to the podcast.
