Speaker 2 (00:46):
You're a nice sunny climate because I'm sitting here in
the rain, still on antibiotics, but other than that, I'm fabulous.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Susan gave me her disease.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
I'm sorry, the sun just came out. Session nice.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Should I tell everyone listening what you guys were up
to the last time I saw you?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Boy, he's jumping right, sure, Michael, go ahead, just make
us look like fools.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
Go ahead, So you're about to engage in a shot
drinking contest with Chuck and Joan and I think Nancy
was there too. I understand that it ended not with
a with a bangle, with a whimper.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Am I right with a whimper?
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Well up if Chuck decided he had had enough for
the night. And uh so now that you've now that
you've opened the can of worms, Michael, Uh, Chalk is
a guy who when you put him in a party room,
he has his phone and he's like, who.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Should we call?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
He called Michael, he called he called Jonathan Michael, he
called like four different guys J Jordans. So we were
at a party in California and Chalk just had to
call everyone. We were at the baby shower. Ben's yeah,
almost baby shower. So yeah, thanks Michael for bringing that up.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
It's uh, it was. We got done incited when we called,
didn't you Michael?
Speaker 4 (02:17):
I love you. I wish I was there.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Yeah. We had a good time, we really did.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Then. It's so nice getting to know you. So how
have you been since you've been off the show?
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I think great, I Uh, life goes out, but this
is still you know, there's still going on in the
sense and I love that and I'm soaking it every
minute of it. And that I can't. It's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Can I just let you in on a little something.
This is your life now, this is it. It's not
going away. We're all here, We're all members, if you will,
a Bachelor nation.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
We love it. They love you.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
I'm proud of being alumni Fanta. You know, it's been
a remarkable experience. I wouldn't trade it for anything in
the world, and I'm grateful to have done it.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
What does it mean to you to be in your
golden years if you will, Well.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
I don't love that word.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
I don't either, right, Yeah, a young person thought of
that most likely, right, But it means ideally, it means
that you're heading to the best part of your life
and you're getting to enjoy the years that you have,
hopefully a little more free time. I'm retired, so I'm
really soaking that up and trying to develop my creative
(03:34):
side with hobbies and just getting out there and having
some fun. I'm still an adventurous guy like I was
when I was young, and I'm fortunate that I'm.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
In good enough how to enjoy that.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
So I'm an experience in life to the fullest right now.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Absolutely, I mean I always called it, it's the last
chapter with the best chapter.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
And the longest because I'm hoping.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
For surprise ending where I get to just live on.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I always say Sam living to one hundred and ten,
So I don't want to live that well.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I'm going to be healthy, healthy. I just want somebody
to love.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
And love me back. Isn't that what everybody thinks about?
That's why you went on the show?
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Absolutely?
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Yeah, absolutely, And you know I love my kids, they
love me back, but you know little somebody.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Else would be.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
So what's it like, Michael, what's dating likes? Unce he
left the show, I haven't.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Done much of it. I have done a little, and
you have to try very cautiously because you get a
lot of people you.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Know on Instagram and these other sides just popping up.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Say you're another guy. You get a lot of d all.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
The men, all the men do because women are on
social media. Men our age weren't really on a lot
of them aren't on social media, so we.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Don't hear from people.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Were you a big person on Instagram prior to the show, Michael,
I did not.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
Belong to Instagram before for THEA So I'll tell you
what though, a lot of it's, you know, scamming. For example,
I got a a reach out DM someone slipped into
my data.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
That's it.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Last night saying which is, please send a video birthday
message to my friend. She absolutely loves you and loves
the show. And I reached out to the I thought
this a little suspicious, and I reached out to the
other guys. We've got a text cham Gong. Every one
of them had gotten one of those from the same.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
So, Michael, I know that you've been very forthcoming about
your cancer treatment. I know that you and I've talked
and I was I commended you because I thought that
was really amazing for you to bring it up at
the Men's tell all for Jones season, and you know,
(05:54):
are you willing to talk a little bit about that?
Are you still in treatment? How are you feeling?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I'm sorry, god, no, I was just going to say
go ahead.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
I just finished treatment about three weeks ago, and it
entailed the back end of the entailed a couple of
surgeries and radiation, and I have been on medication. Honestly,
I have been on medication since before I even found
out that I might possibly be doing the show. So
that was an ongoing thing that ended about three weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
So I am cancer free.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah, yeah, congrats, treatment's over. So great, baby.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Did you do treatment before or after you went on
the show during When did you start?
Speaker 5 (06:38):
I started back in November. I didn't find out. I
got the initial texts from January. What the initial treatment entails, though,
is medication that is called enrogen deprivation therapy.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
And I'll just say this.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
I don't like anything that says deprivation.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
I'm not crazy about the work therapy.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Sometimes I'm just glad it's all over.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
A double women. Yeah, it is.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Basically it entails taking a basically a pill every day.
And what it does is it depletes your system of testosterone,
because testosterone is the fuel that drives prostate cancer, and
that's what I had, was prostate cancer. I didn't want
to necessarily say that in the mental hell because a
lot of people think, well, that's no big deal, but
(07:24):
it can be aggressive, and in my case, it was aggressive.
So I needed to be treated aggressively. And so I
was the first guy in the history of the show
the series to have not had any testosterone in their
body during the competition, and that was interesting. And when
Jones said that she was not going to embed in
the Fantasy Suite. I'm like, oh, that's good to hear.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I have a lot of testosterone. I get the pellets
every four months.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Ago jes Susan and her hormones cheez. I like my hormones.
They keep me alive. Let me tell you.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
And I'm sure Michael's very interested to hear about your
horror month.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Hey, I don't think you so.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
You said that your you said that you do have
creative pursuits.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
What tell us what do you do with your time?
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Well?
Speaker 5 (08:12):
I love gardening, although I wasn't able to do much
of that this year because of the show.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Although I use that, maybe I use that as an excuse.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
The trouble with this treatment, you get a little good
fatigued really quick.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
So there's that.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
But lately I've been I've been trying my hand to
these mosque walal art projects.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
And I did.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
It's funny. I just finished one up yesterday, bubble wrapped it.
I was going to put it in my suitcase, my
check suitcase. It won't fit. So I text them and say,
I'm sorry, you know, I'm going to have to send
this to you later on so, but that's my that's
my thing. That's my jam these days is h is
these Moss wal Art things. I'm not sure if there
(08:53):
they dropped. They walk the fine line between tackie and
kind of kind of need and but.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
I'm loving it.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
I'm I was a banker my whole career and now
I'm able to let the creative side.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Yeah, yeah, level, absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I'm glad that you're that you're feeling well and that
you get to you know, this is the time of life.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
You should get to do these things. Kathy, what would
you say you're doing now in your free time?
Speaker 1 (09:20):
You know me, I I like to move, I we travel,
We travel, I I read, I do needle point, I
play with my grandkids. You know, anything that comes my way.
Don't say no to opportunity. That's my mind.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
You are. You guys are doing a lot of traveling.
You're always you're always on the go.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yeah, it gives you energy. The more we do, the
more energy we get.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
Right.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Well, when we get and Michael, Susan and I subscribe,
you know, we we tell people a lot, get up
off the sofa.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Life doesn't come to your door.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
You have to get up and find it, so we
we live by that exam.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
We set the example.
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Absolutely, that's wonderful. It's a great example, Michael.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
What we do here on our podcast people writing questions
for advice, and we give them the best advice that
we have.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
So we'd like you to join us. Would you do
that with us today?
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Yeah, I've seen your podcast and i'd love to thank you.
I'm not sure anyone really needs any my advice.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Well why not?
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, everybody has their own perspective on things, and then
people will get to know you, Michael.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
It's from Michael.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
They're going to get to know This is from Michael
to Michael. All right, Hi, Kathy and Susan and today, Michael.
My sister loves your podcast. I hear her listening to
it all the time. You guys give really good advice,
so I thought i'd reach out to see if you
can help me. I really like this girl that is
(10:58):
in the sorority my frat always mixes with I'm not
the best with girls, so I have no idea how.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
To approach her.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
We've only met in passing a few times, so I
don't how to approach her.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
What do you think I should do?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I want to ask her on a date, but I
don't want to freak her out. L O l okay, Michael,
what's the plan here? How does Michael get a date
with this girl?
Speaker 4 (11:25):
I have to go first? Okay. So speaking speaking from.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
The perspective of a guy who also grew up having
no game, presumably that's that's where it's coming from. You
have to be yourself, right, You have to let her
know who you really are as a person.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
A little humor doesn't hurt.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
So maybe you prepare a joker too, or something that's
a slide and make her a little more comfortable. But
at the end of the day, you've got to be yourself.
And if she says no, you know what. Life goes on.
We're not made everyone who isn't made for everyone else.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Don't let it.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Maybe a tiny ego bruise, but don't don't let it.
Don't let it mess you up.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
It's not patty you feel about.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Instead of standing up and approaching her because he's so
gun shy about sliding into her, dm like it's going
to get to know her online. Say hey, I don't
know if you know who I am or i've seen
you a few times. My name is and just be real.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
And you can get that a shot certainly. Well, you know,
it's a generational thing, so I guess the younger people
that's that's a lot more common for them, right, And
we didn't grow up with that. So yeah, I think
that's a great idea. It doesn't really work for me,
but for her.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Oh you're not sliding into girls DMS.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
H'm Michael, they're sliding into mind and I'm not responding.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
And it's sumptuous.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
I mean, some of these guys, Jordan, I'm sure he's
getting thousands of these, but you know that's that's not
the case with me.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Is there anything that comes to mind right away that
you'd like to accomplish this year?
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Wait? Hold of wait a second, we aren't finished with
poor little Michael here. Oh, I'm so sorry. We got
to find I'm sorry, I think, Well, yeah, Susan's not
feeling well.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
I think, Michael, he I like your idea of reaching
to her DMS, but you know what, the old fashioned
way of texting her giving her a phone call, I
personally like hearing a voice.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
I'm not texting. You have to do it, but I
prefer a phone call. Why not call her?
Speaker 1 (13:26):
And say hey, you know, I was thinking he might
not have her number yet.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Well, what if you don't have her number yet, he
sees her in passing pass or a note.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
What if he asked you to reach out to her?
Would you do that?
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Yeah, Michael, I think that's a great idea.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Well I would like somebody to come up to me
and say, hey, that guy wants to ask you.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Why not.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
I'll get a hundred of these and you want to
kill me, but but there you go, There you go, Michael,
go for it.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
I'll take one hundred. I'll take.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Michael to Mike. He's giving you the solution.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
We will get her name, get her contact, we'll look out.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
You want me to do it?
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah, you can do it, Michael. We can start a
new business.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Okay, now, Carow, we can talk about this year being
twenty five.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Here we come. There's no stopping us.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Is there anything that comes to mind that you really
want to accomplish this year or just take a day
at a time.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
No, I'm a new Year's resolution guy.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
So cool. In fact, my kids have this tradition, my
two boys and I and my daughter in law Lissa. Well,
we will get together a few days before New Year's
Eve and we'll we'll have just stinner together and we'll
each come up with a couple of gentle New Year's
resolutions for each other.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Oh, well, do you think they should?
Speaker 8 (14:56):
Oh yeah, we're careful, we tread lightly.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
But you know, I think that's helpful because it gives.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
You a could be.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Can you share or I want to know the kind
of thing like for your son, because I know you're
very close. You have two kids, and you're very close
with your your two boys. So give us give us one?
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Uh for for Matt I I've told him several years
in a row now that he needs to learn to
lay back and enjoy life a little bit. He's very
driven and he's had considerable success already, but he really
needs to sit back and as they say, small roses
and just chill.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Struggles with that, Yeah, that's funny. Chalk said that we
did a podcast with him. He said that he spent
his thirties and forties working to death and he wished
he had done other things.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
So interesting, Kathy, what would you tell me? I've never
seen this, It's just ever in my life.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Ladies and gentlemen. Silence. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I don't I think I you're a You're a wonderful
person who you are, and you you care.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
My news resolution for you would be that.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
You continue to believe in your It's not even it's
a wish, not a resolution. I would wish for you
that you would find the person that would bring love
back into.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Your life, don't we all? Yeah? We do.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
That's interesting though, Michael, thank you for sharing that.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Would you have a resolution for me, Susan? Yeah, We're
not going to do it on the air.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
See, I gave her a very kind, sweet thought and
I got ripped a new one.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Okay, No, you know I love you unconditionally.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Okay, Michael, here we go. We're gonna just ask some questions.
It's how we want Bachelor Nation to get to know
you better. So these easy little questions that we ask
and give us your answers here. First one is who
is your favorite band or musician when you were in
high school?
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (17:11):
High school? Wow? Probably the Beatles.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Beatles are I still think they're the best man a
rock band that ever existed.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Bobby ever will. But a close second for me is.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Arim there Oh of high school and I came along,
but I love Aria.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I love Arim too, and my kids.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
When they first came out, I said to my kids
something like I love rem and they went, what's it's
ari Em? I said, I don't care who they are.
I love them. That's so funny.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
How old are you, Michael, I'm sixty five. Okay. When's
your birthday?
Speaker 4 (17:47):
September eighteen September.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Damn, yeah, okay, a bird. That's just like my daughter.
My husband was a Burgo September.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
What's your What is your favorite way too unwind after
a long day?
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Oh gosh, that's a good question. It's a long day,
a stressful day. I'm working out.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
All this helps, right, Really, you want to go work
out after that? You work out at the end of
the day.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I do. I'm that guy. I do for that very reason.
It's a stress reliever for me.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
And then I feel good about myself and I go
home and.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
I have a beer.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I was just going to say, I cozy up with
a glass and just take a hot bubble bath.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
So if you were gonna what would the title of
your autobiography be?
Speaker 4 (18:41):
So that happened?
Speaker 8 (18:44):
Oh, I like that, My brother said to me a
couple of years ago, Michael, you definitely lived by the
Chinese proverb may you live an interesting life, but I
think you take it to an extreme, and to that
I've had.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
It's spent a roller coaster ride.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
So loads are a little rough sometimes.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
So for everybody. They are.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
If you were stranded on a deserted island and you
could only bring three guys from the mansion, who would
they be Pascal?
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I answered that very quickly. But he probably owns a boat.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
He probably owns the island exactly.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
So he could just call someone and have a start.
Uh yeah, I mean that's what. That's sort of like saying,
who are the three guys who love you? Doug hugging?
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Wait, I'm sorry, you need to repeat that. The three guys.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
I need to repeat it to myself.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
It's like asking who are the three guys you really
dog hanging with them as while you were there? Right,
so I would say Pascal and I was in their
long Pascal Jordan, I really I really got a kick
out of and.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Any of the other guys would be my third choice.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
How that's all. I thought you were going to say,
Susan and me. I thought you were going to take off, you.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Know, I actually was going to say, and that's one
of you two.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Like it was funny because we had asked Chuck this
question and he named his three, and he had reasons
for all three of those people being there. What you
just said when you first yelled Pascal. I can't imagine
being the third with him. He'd be freaking out.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Nobody waiting on him, nobody had a big buddy.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
I wouldn't want to have to cook or to his laundry.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Or any But was he a character?
Speaker 4 (20:42):
He's fun, He's.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
A you know. I saw Jordan and Pascal h when
I went up to Chicago to visit my sons and
we went out to dinner, and Pascal, uh, he drove
up in his Aston Martin DBAs with the top down,
very pal.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Did he have a twenty year old blonde with him?
Speaker 4 (21:02):
He didn't, He left her at home.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
I think.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
We walked out of the Yeah, it's forty. We walked
out of the restaurant. He gives me a hog and
grabs him by the cheeks. He says, Michael, I will
give you some advice. You must learn to live a
more positive life. You must manifest positive things. This is
the secret to happiness. And then he drives off in
that current of thought. You know, dude, there's a little
more to it than that.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Does have a point.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Well, there's this is a guy who's uh, you know,
he's got a bouncy, full existence.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Let's put it that way, not just you.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
So do you you're not wrong, You're not wrong.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Yeah I do.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
It's not quite as adventurous as as pascals.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
But I don't know that anyone says I thought we
should walk that back.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
If it's a if it's a weekend on a desert island,
then maybe, but longer than that.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I you know again, that's that's what That's what uh
chalk said guy Jack because he could cook, because.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
He could cook. But you got to catch it first.
I mean, you are on a it deserves all right.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Okay, if you could bring back any fashion trend or
old slang, what would it be.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
I still use old slang, right, so I use things
like uh and I.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Dig this, and uh, this is awesome, awesome.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
I guess it's.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Still say bang bang now it's now.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
It's a banger.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
That's why I was a banger of the time, and
I've tried it a couple of times.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
It doesn't doesn't around out.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
So those are the words that that you know, I
think I still use.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
I still love them, and they.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Still What about a fashion trend? What fashion trend would
you bring back?
Speaker 1 (22:57):
I'm going to get Yeah, I'm gonna guess that fashion
is not your biggest thing. Put you in a pair
of khaki pants and a V next sweater and you're
good to go.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
Uh yeah, there's probably some truth to that. I'm a
little bit more mindful of it maybe than that. But
but not a toime.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
That wasn't an insult. That was just guys have an
easier No, that wasn't men as an insult.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Guys can put on a pair of khaki pants and
they can go anywhere women have to spend days.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Well, maybe he's you could think of it like what
fashion trend would you like to come back that you
saw women wearing?
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Oh, there you go.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
You know I remember the super low rise pants like
there was three snaps or whatever.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
I like those hip huggers, you know, that's that's.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
What the that's what they were, not mini skirts or
hot go go.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
Maybe a little too much information in some of those,
you know what I mean, But but I dig those.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
I'm hit to that.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Yeah, you're hip, You're hey, what's something you've always wanted
to do it haven't done as of yet.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
Gosh, there's a lot of places I'd love to travel
to that I never have, So definitely, that's definitely on
my short list as.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Far as eventually goes.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
I really want to try jumping out of a plane
with a parachute.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
We both said that too. The three of us are
going to do it in twenty five. That's it.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I'm all in.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah, I'm still do you know that?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
When I interviewed for the show, that is one of
the things I said to the producer and he said,
what's something you want to do that you've never done?
And I said, I want to jump out of an
airplane with a parachute. I think I'd have to do
a tandem with someone because I don't think I have
the court to think.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Definitely, you have to push me out of the.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Airplane eyes and hope for the best.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Yeah, I'm all right, Well I got Let's see, what's
one thing Michael about you now that you think would
surprise your younger self.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
Well, there's a couple of things. I'm not sure if
I should say them or not. Yes, with you I'm
not sure how young, but the fact that I'm divorced,
that that would surprise me.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
I uh, it's not in my.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
Background, and I'm a very traditional guy, and you know,
sometimes life unfolds in a way that you don't want
it to. And not to get a really serious here,
but but that would probably be the thing that I'd
be Wow, really that happened.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
That is about probably the most interesting answer we've gotten
to that question.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I think, how would you We're putting me on the
spot here today. I'm curious.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
I think that now you're gonna make me cry that
I'm more resilient.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
You ever thought you would be because of what I've
been you know, Thanks Susan.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Thanks, Okay, let's talk about fashion trends. Hey, Kathy, if
you were on that deserted island, what three.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Women would you be? Me knowing that would so simple,
I'd bring Susan, Nancy. Can I bring four?
Speaker 5 (26:37):
No?
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
I know.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
We're moving along taking taking you and Nancy and that
and that's it. What's the worst piece of advice you've
ever been given?
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Gosh, that's a tough one.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
The worst piece.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
I'd like to answer, the best piece of advice the
worst is a hard one, I think.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Yeah, it really is right.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
I didn't write these, Michael, just so, yeah, we didn't.
We didn't write this. I did not write. You don't
have to answer it. If you you can skip, we
can skip on.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
No, I've got I've got an answer for that. I've
got an answer. Cigarette. Why don't you give it a
try see if you like it?
Speaker 4 (27:21):
And that's what a cigarette? I quit? I quit twenty
eight years ago, but well it was it hard to do.
And yeah, that was eighteen years old.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
What was your brand? What'd you smoke?
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Marvel lights?
Speaker 3 (27:35):
I was a cool girl?
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Answer smoked the worst advice. I don't know if I've
ever gotten that bad of advice.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
What you know?
Speaker 1 (27:47):
The what is thet I can give you the best
advice I've ever received advice.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Question? You know, I prefer to be positive. I like it.
I like it. So do you have any questions for us? Michael? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (28:03):
First of all, where did you get those questions with me?
My first question?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
I wish I know somewhere I wrote them, although we
intersperse sometimes our own.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
I have a question, yes, I do so.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Obviously, your appearance on this show has changed your lives
and on the surface, it would appear that that it's
all for the good.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
I'm wondering if there's.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
Anything that you that you wrestle with as a result
of your appearance that you wish you could put back
in the box or you wish you didn't have to
deal with.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I wish I would have paid attention playing the ice
cream game. And yeah, no, you know, because I think
I was true to myself and unapologetically authentically me. That's
just who I am on fun and like to make
people laugh. And it was a great experience.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Yeah, but I mean, I.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
Mean, I mean now, I mean subsequent to the experience
life right.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
Now as a result of the fame and celebrity that
has brought.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
You, is right?
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Is what?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Michael?
Speaker 1 (29:13):
I'm not sure I understand the question since we've left.
What is the question you're asking?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
The fame and what's happening here your celebrity?
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Is there any downside to that for you?
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Is? Oh?
Speaker 3 (29:23):
For me? I can answer that. For me, I can
answer that very quickly.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
For me, uh, I don't think of myself as a
celebrity at all, But for this fifteen minutes of fame
that's gone into something longer I think that sometimes I
don't think people really see the real May, even though
I try to be the real May.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
We just talked about that. Yeah, the two of it,
he just said, is that downside. That's the downside. Pay
yeah to me behind the chair.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
And I entertain guests all day long, every day, and
when I get asked sometimes I'll answer as to I've
been a are since the day I was born. Now
it's time the whole world knows it.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
You did say, I love that.
Speaker 5 (30:06):
It's wonderful. That's excellent, and Kathy, I could not agree more.
I get where you're coming from. We've talked about this
a little bit. And you're a terrific person. You're very
kind and smart and sweet, and everyone needs to know
that you are awesome.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
And we wonder why we can't give a date the
two of us, because we're loud, we're outspoken, we do
our podcast. We say it like it is, there's no filter,
if you will. But we're kind and we have hearts
and sensitive feelings, and I don't think everybody realizes.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Do you think that men find the two of you
in some ways intimidating?
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Yes, without a doubt.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
Yes, that's probably why.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Well, but how do we change that?
Speaker 1 (30:49):
I can tell you the man that's going to find
me is not going to be intimidated by who I am.
He's going to celebrate who I am because that's who
I am.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
That's the man that I want to celebrate, right who
I am? Enjoy who I am.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
I think, Susan, the man that wants us won't be
feel intimidated by us.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
He'll feel How did I get so damn lucky? I
might have passed away already. I don't know I missed it. Well, yeah,
why you being so dark today, Susan? Geez? Usually you know,
come on, where's the positives? What from a man that
(31:32):
the makeup artist? Brother? You just heard from him?
Speaker 1 (31:36):
He just texts as we can. I just say, guys,
Kathy wasn't impressed. Michael, you brought it up. Now we're
going there. Michael, you and I have chatted a few times.
I'm a talkative person. I know I am fair fair Michael. Yeah, okay,
(31:58):
when Michael, would you and I've chatted?
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Have I asked you questions about you?
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Sure? Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Okay, this is going somewhere.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
So Susan, what would you think if I only you
and I chat on the phone, and all I did
was talk to you about me, that's all. What would
your thought be about a future for us?
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Just curious? Don't overthink it, Michael. What are you asking him?
You as on the date?
Speaker 1 (32:32):
No, I'm saying, okay, let me just since this is
clear as clear as mud for everyone, Susan. While I
was in Philadelphia last week, this guy called Susan and
she wasn't going to take the call. And I said, no,
that's okay. I'll just go in my you know, do whatever.
And then I came back and this guy literally for
(32:52):
forty five minutes, all he did was talk about himself.
Susan knows everything about this guy, everything about him, how
many cars he drives, what kind of cars he drives,
where he lives, how much land he owns, what he
does for a living, what he earns, everything.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
You know, what she knows. He knows about her. The
one question he asked her, which was what kind of
car she had? He knows nothing about her. So I
said to her, red flag, get rid of him, move along.
What do you think, Michael, I give good advice.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
You did give good advice. You know, I've heard this
so many times from from from women. Uh who who
I met and are out there dating? And I think
to problem to try to be kind. I think to
some degree it might be maybe not in this case,
but it might be nerves, it might be trying to
show off a little bit. But at the end of
(33:46):
the day, you've got to be curious about the other person.
It's not you, but there's a match. How about just
being curious about people.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
I'm just you, But I mean, he's researched me. You
could see me online. As a matter of fact, he
just said, I see you're back from LA and recovering
from your precedure social media.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
L O L.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Let me know if you're still interested in meeting are you?
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Yeah? I said, absolutely, wonderful person. I'm wishing you.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
I'm wishing for me to be the wrongest, wrongest I've
ever been. I hope this is the many your dreams.
I want to throw rose petals at your way.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
A few years since I went to go meet somebody.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
That is not true, Susan, Yes it is mister Marshall.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Guy.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Oh, I forgot about Michael. Ah, I forgot about that.
I forgot Yeah I did. Yes, I love you.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Are you feeling like one of the girls againt Michael.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
A little bit. I have to ask you a question.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
Now. I don't want to put you on spot, Susan,
but I'm going to ask you.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
So you know, to some degree, the.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
Fans of the show Best Nation wants to want to
put certain UH alumni from the men's group with the
women and with you. It was Jack to some degree.
How do I wonder how you felt about that? I'm
Jack a great guy, but I don't see you together.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
So now, he is a great guy. I could see
us cooking together, laughing together. Oh, but the chemistry wasn't there.
So yeah, you need this chemistry. You can't force it.
He seems like a great guy. He was fun, he
was just.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Wasn't my guy.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Yeah, I'm not surprised.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
I consider him my friend. So, Michael, would you know,
oh sorry, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
Did you notice that Edith and Edith and dance that together?
They were placed together? Did you see that?
Speaker 3 (35:40):
What was that about? I don't know. I saw them
at the party afterwards and I was like, I think, So,
I have a question for you, Michael.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
If they have Bachelor in Paradise, are you going and
who do you want to be there.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
Well, certainly you Yeah, I want you to be there.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
That was a loaded question. Seriously, do you.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
Want to go?
Speaker 4 (36:07):
I'd love to go.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
I'd have to move into a gym for six months.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
But seriously, you've said, are you serious you're fit?
Speaker 6 (36:17):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (36:19):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 5 (36:20):
You know, one of the side effects of this, uh
this therapy sound was that it h it was a
lot of muscle mass.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
So I'm I'm kind of I'm.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Thin, fairly thin, but I have lost a lot.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
That's what did I just say to you? Michael?
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Can I tell you something? I didn't have the treatment
and the muscle mass.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
What did you just say, Susan, what did you just say?
Speaker 2 (36:45):
I didn't have the treatment and I have a problem
with muscle mass now.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
I mean, I will say I have lost a lot
of muscle mass from all the traveling and being sick.
I am. I love to work out with weights. I
was supposed to go back to the gym this week
with my trainer. He couldn't believe it when I had
to cancel because I'm sick.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I can't do it.
Speaker 5 (37:07):
Yeah, well, you guys have the inside scoop you think
they might do on at some point. It's probably too soon, huh.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
I mean, we've heard that they're talking about doing it.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
But I also think they're surprised with all the matchups
that have been made or theoretically and not just matchups,
but you know, people dating.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I mean from the.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Yeah, I'm surprised too.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Some of these guys are kind of, you know, by default,
opting out of being the next World Ambassador.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
I'm a little surprised.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
But do you want to be the next one, Michael?
Speaker 5 (37:38):
I don't think i'd I'd be very good at it,
to be honest, I was one of the big.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Introverts of the group.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
You know, I not a big personality.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
And well you sure are now.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Well thank you. I you know, I was not myself
on that show. I was too nervous. I didn't present
the way I am as a person, and that bothered
me a little bit.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
I don't know, we're you nervous?
Speaker 5 (37:59):
Difference about face planting in front of you three million
people on television.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Started walking Michael when we when that is so funny
you said that because when we walked out of the limo.
That was my worry that I was going to because
I am a little bit on the kletzy side.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
All right, wait, just one thing.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Excuse me, Kathy, when you're walking with her, just keep
your eyes open. Kathy walks like this and goes in
front of you and walk your trip.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
But what are you doing? Stay straight in your lane?
Stay in your lane? She said.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
My husband used to say the same thing. I go,
there's a point to this guy.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
I'm laughing because.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
It's so true everyone, everybody who walks with me, because
I power walk with friends. I walked with my friends
back then. She says, She goes, Kathy, can you not walk?
And I always start laughing because I can't apparaise.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
It's like serpentine.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
So I can talk to you all day.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
I don't know any any questions we haven't asked you
that we should have, or do you want to ask
us or ask us something?
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Well, I did get that one in and yeah, and
that was maybe a little too serious.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
We've got around. This has been a lot of fun.
Oh my god, I think that it's this is going
