Speaker 1 (00:15):
Pushkin. The problem of racism is before us, threatening our
very existence. How are we going to free humanity from
this virus? What's up? I'm ebramax Kindy, the host of
The Anti Racist, a new action podcast from iHeartRadio and

(00:38):
Pushkin Industries. Well, disabilities exist in one third of households,
So if we're not in your house, where your neighbor
on the right or the left were your brother, were
your sister, were your parents. There's so many anti native
racist ideas and tropes, but I would probably say the
most anti black racist idea is the idea of black

(01:01):
people's dangerous and it's probably the worst of all. Yeah,
I mean it's it's tough. Do I have to choose
the most damaging? If I did have to choose, i'd say, yeah,
the idea that Natives are not actually here, the sort
of an insistence in our national storytelling on our disappearance

(01:24):
to justify the theft of land. Each week, I'll be
joined by a special guest to discuss how different policies
and platforms can dismantle racism to build a just and
equitable world. I feel like people are using the word
racist too liberally and it's undercutting its power and importance,

(01:45):
and so when we actually do have something that actually
does fit the definition, the word has been cheapened. So
for me, what I think is important that I think
can help this is if we develop a shared and
consistent definition of the term racists. Invoking voter fraud to

(02:05):
justify voter suppression has been around for a very long
time time and has a really ugly history in this country.
We'll tie the past to the present, inviting listeners to
consider what an anti racist future might look like and
lay out the strategies and narratives we can all rally
around to achieve one. I think diversity is America's superpower,

(02:26):
and yet we so often don't tap into it. An
anti racist future depends on my actions or your actions,
and be anti racist will help us understand precisely how
we can build it all. The sort of visionary ideas
about what kind of society we want to build were
never created in a think tank or from the smartest people,

(02:49):
but through struggle, through this constant, constant struggle to change
the world. I'm Heather c McKee, Robin d g Kellyan,
David Troyer, and you're listening to be anti racist with
Abram x Candy Listen and subscribe to be anti racist.
